this is the first post of my new blog. I am going to try and update this with an archive of my online presence from instagram. If I were to archive my twitter content here, everyone would realize how funny I am and try to talk to me, so I won't be doing that.

I am currently sitting in an airbnb in Brussels, it is January 2025 and despite my windy morning drinking espresso and attempting to buy bread in French, I am scared. I do not like the billionaires. I do not like the UI of their platforms or the color of their politics. I do not feel comfortable with the overinflation of the concept of artificial intelligence. I do not like hearing, "I know I know, but they're really nice cars, the self driving is awesome." I feel sad hearing the words Efficiency Democratization of Content New Era of Creative Production chanted at trade show after trade show as I watch my friends get laid off, fired, or made redundant. That is, if there was even a show to hire them in the first place. I do not like being body checked onto the subway car of progress by thousands of others trying to shove in behind me, quasi-anime girls with perfectly shaded porcelain skin and a cyan rim light, all twelve fingers beckoning me inside, the crowd whispering "It's only a tool meant to make your life easier," in my ears as the fire burns the palm trees outside and people's bodies lay under my feet. I'm tired. And after all this time, I still just don't really get the incentive anymore. Surely the pie can't be this big? There can't nearly be enough slices for everyone. What are we working towards, if not our own redundancy. When will the client be the creator? Next year? Thank god there isn't a commercially available ai replicating little fingers unscrewing mini BNC connectors yet, or I'd really be fucked.

I'm a very cynical person, and I want to be able to post what I think. I want to be able to discuss politics with people without feeling like I'm on the verge of losing my personal and professional connections. But I'm a doomer so perhaps this is my curse. Even if it doesn't happen, I'll probably move forward like it will. I could just keep it to myself, but for some reason that feels like losing. I'm sure my opinions will change. I took a crack at this, using the IlClan era BNC-12S as a base. This model removes the long range battery of gauss rifle and erppcs as well as the endosteel in favor of stealth armor powered by an Angel ECM, an engine supercharger, and a pairing of a plasma rifle and LB 10-X AC as it's 'main guns'.

This variant can comfortably close to brawl range with its Stealth armor active, firing the plasma rifle and autocannon to soften up targets and using the supercharger judiciously to get extra boosts of speed to reach cover. Once in short range, the stealth armor can deactivate, the Angel system goes up to jam missile targetting and C3 nets, and that huge battery of cERMLs can come to bear alongside the main guns for more or less negligible heat

Granted, at 2900 BV and 35,000,000 c-bills I'm not sure how warranted this mod actually is, but it sure seems funny.

Mechtechs, do you have any ideas to make a stealth banshee? I basically want to make a big mf that just runs up undetected. The idea is just making it as hard as possible to hit, with a side of FAST. Are there any systems you suggest for this goal? Alternative types of armor are also welcome!

First of all, i want to thank the fans and everyone who has given me so much strength, love, support and encouragement.

The Age of War is my favorite eras to play in! The conflicts and politics if the Era are roughly mapped out in the Era digest, and a fair number of units have been given life in the XTRO Primitives. The reason I love the Era is because A) All the tech is trash. Critical hits are more common. Ammo explosions will happen. Overheating is a bigger threat. BV values are lower, so the armies are bigger. This leads to big swings, and dramatic moments I love.

B) The canon is just developed enough to inspire your campaign, but not to the point where you end up railroaded when the era's Super Friends show up.

C) Many of the classic mechs are still there, just crappier (for the most part, I'll take a BNC-1E anyday). It still looks like battletech.

Random Battletech Question

So, as I make my way through Battletech lore via youtube videos, I find that it bugs me that discussions of the Age of War need to say that many of the records from the time period have been lost due to the conflicts going on at the time.

I understand that this is a necessary handwave cuz the devs haven't released a ton of info on the period, or on the consolidation of the Inner Sphere into what we know today, etc. And I understand why, since after all there were no BattleMechs and thus you can't play in that era.

Still, it bugs me, both because I don't quite buy the handwave, and because I want that lore! Granted, I don't play so...

(I know they did a mini-sourcebook for the Age of War)

Am I alone in this?
