Inspired by the RotE discord prompt "Valentine." I imagine that Erek and Detozi trained the birds to pass notes to each other while they're working. Old habits die hard.

City of Dragons Question Time

1. What were your favourite moments?

Alise exploring Kelsingra and discovering the theater with the statues

Kim being the worst spy ever

Sintara's first flight

Malta’s capture, her giving birth to Phron and killing Sinad Arich

Thymara and Raspkal finding the dragon baths in Kelsingra and Sintara waking the city to life

2. Favourite quotes?

3. Did the reread change your opinion of the book? In whay way?  

I love the Rain Wild Chronicles, but to be honest, I think that City of Dragons might be the weakest book in the series :x Maybe because it’s so short? or because there wasn’t enough Sedric? I don’t know, I usually don’t mind at all but here it really feels like not much happened. And the repetitions stood out to me more this time too (we don’t always need a summary of what happened in the last book, we remember...)

I still enjoyed the new povs (Hest’s and Selden’s) very much, and the passages in Kelsingra brought me back to my favourite chapters in The Mad Ship, when Malta explores the buried city. Even though one thing that disappointed me in City of Dragons is that most of the time, Malta doesn’t feel like Malta anymore :(

My current favorite headcanon is that Jek used to hookup with Detozi every time her ship made a stop in the Rain Wilds.
