i decided to make a short playlist of songs that i could picture armin relating or listening to. enjoy ♬

i. explorers by muse

this song screams armin to me. the yearning for a free, lush world, with rivers running wild sounds like armin’s biggest goal in canon; to be free in the outside world.

ii. childhood by beach house

i reckon he would really like beach house, and childhood has such a melancholic, nostalgic tune that really reminds me of armin; it’s the sad realisation that you’ve lost your innocence along with your childhood.

iii. looking out for you by joy again

more of a modern au song!! i headcanon that he can play ukulele and sing quite well, and this is definitely something he’d play if he were to develop a crush on a girl. (i am aware the song is played on a banjo but shh)

iv. blondie by current joys

the title says it all, as well as the poetic lyrics seeming like something he would write/relate to.

i first heard this on an eremin edit and oh my god. if the ending doesn’t sum up their friendship perfectly! also, i think the rest of the song would represent the more chaotic, sexual side of armin; seriously check out the lyrics and tell me it doesn’t give you armin vibes, especially “do you like these little sonnets, i wrote them just for you, but how quickly they turn sour so be careful who you screw”

vi. meet me on the beach by james forest

such a calming song i found in a yoga video ages ago, but tell me he wouldn’t listen to this with his lover.

vii. catch the sun by doves

i can’t 100% explain why i think this song fits armin so well, but i can imagine him really liking this, and it once again ties into the idea of chasing an innocence/happiness that he cannot have.

viii. a leader always carries a stick by grizzly bear

another song that i think shows off armin’s darker side, but also represents his leadership now he is commander

ix. ghosting by mother mother

i think mother mother would probably be one of armin’s favourite bands, and this is the song that sounds the most armin to me (admittedly i’m not a huge fan of mother mother so i don’t know all of their discography; if there is a song that you think fits armin better, let me know!)

x. ocean eyes by billie eilish

ok i know this is on every single playlist for armin. but. c’mon. there’s a reason as to why everybody associates this song with our ocean-eyed boy.

You’re so sweet and I love you I’m sorry it took me some time to answer. I wasn’t doing so good, but I’m better now :) More high school AU material from Isayama would be awesome! Maybe we’ll get it? I’m actually not sure.Now, what do I expect from Eren and Armin this coming year? Hm. Well, after the Return to Shiganshina arc, there’s a lot left unsaid between the two and I do expect them to talk about it sometime before the year is over. What more, Armin is now a shifter, which means Eren might want to coach him through it and be there to relate whenever it’s tough on him. And finally, they both just got hit with a death sentence. It’s still several years down the road, but not only is it something to stand together in, but it also kind of pushes them to get their personal business over with sooner. Mixing all of this together, I expect a very, very significant talk between the two. I want to believe it’ll happen before the year is over, but if not, at the very least the talk is more or less guaranteed at some point; their relationship is so full of loose threads right now, and with a ton of things unsaid. Meaning, there needs to be some sort of closure or conclusion to their relations before the story can end. Remember how after Armin woke up, Levi gave Eren a light kick and the comment “I told you to tell him everything”? Eren had already told Armin all of the practical details; the only thing he left out was his (and Mikasa’s) feelings in all of this. Levi’s comment thus means three things: 1. he definitely told Eren to express feelings to Armin, 2. he deemed those feelings important enough that they needed to be said, and 3. through Levi, the story itself has acknowledged that something that needs to be said, is still unsaid between them! This is why I’m certain that the talk 2.0 is coming! And, of course, I wouldn’t be an eremin shipper if I didn’t deep down both hope and believe that the talk would contain deep feelings of love. So, I guess what I expect from our boys in 2017, is a love confession - platonic or romantic, I do not know, but deep love all the same!
