In other news, I laughed like a donkey this morning after posting a fic for "V for Vendetta and realized the pairing hasn't been written for on A03 since 2016. 🤣

I know everyone is unhinged about destiel and the British monarchy today. But can you spare a moment to consider how perfect finch x dominic are as a pairing from V for Vendetta? Thank you for your time and for considering this tired dilf and his younger life partner.

I am shifting fully into my yearly V for Vendetta fixation and let me tell you all the reasons Finch and Dominic are absolutely life partners but don’t know it yet. And in this essay, I will-

One of the most insane scenes in “V for Vendetta” is one that is so quiet in comparison to the swell of music and everything that is happening around it. V is setting up his dominos, watching everything about to go down. And Finch, in the same way, is on the cusp of understanding the whole story. Not just why it is happening, but how, and more importantly- how it is going to end.

This scene, more than any other, shows the subtle way that he and Dominic work so well together. It is highlighted in the way Dominic just listens. You can see the trust he has in Finch as he takes it all in, rapt. 

“Do you know what is going to happen?”

“No, it was just a feeling. ...But I can guess...”

There is such a quiet, diminished sort of humor that is exchanged between Finch and Dominic when Dominic says playfully: "pucker up, here comes a finger." Finch almost smiles. Amused. His reply is almost light. For a man we never once see smile, it seems important that his amusement - however slight - is only with Dominic.
