Pour Notes
KM 000 and 001 Test: All code at maximum strength. (Excluding ones marked at specific lines)
Results: Error: Extensive soul encoding within mold overpowered the void causing it to destabilize and melt the form. Any benefits of the maximum enchanting was unable to be fully tested due to the instability.
Outcome: 000: Liquefied promptly after exiting the mold 001: Survived pour. Given armor and functioned adequately for a time. Bits of void would sough off at a consistent rate. As time passed, more sizable chunks of material began to separate from the main mass at faster rates. Ultimately, the entire km body underwent catastrophic liquefaction.
Conclusion: Soul Encoding too powerful. Void appears to have a maximum amount of soul per unit of void before it will begin dissolving. Soul Enchantments will need to be balanced to stay under this maximum.
KM 002 and 003 Test: Mold re-etched. Soul enchantments strength reduced with new balance.
Results: Balance of void and soul skewed too far to void dominance, leading to the voids photophobia and caustic nature to remain intact within the kingsmold. Mold requires repair. *Previous glitches of kingsmold may be due to The Pale King’s light damaging the body pre placement in armor. Further instances of the Pale King working with out of armor kingsmold will need to cover to minimize damage to the void.
Outcome: 002: Survived pour, armor installed, but showed signs of photophobia early on. Backing away and shielding self from bright sources of light. Began striking out at light sources within its range. Escalated to seeking out and attacking light sources including the Pale King and White Lady. Under restraint, was slowly pried from armor. Exposed segments began to melt under The Pale Kings light ultimately leading to 002 evacuating its armor and attempting to assault the king. Due to its already destabilizing form, it liquified before contact could be made. Upon inspection, interior of armor had been corroded by the void. 003: During pour, void cracked the mold. Partially structure void lashed out at all light sources and attempted to consume any living creature within the room. Form ultimately melted when exposed to The Pale King light.
Conclusion: Soul Encoding too weak. Lacking strong enough soul encoding, void behavior can overpower the kingsmold coding causing it to lash out and corrode surfaces. If future soul enchantments are not strong enough to control the void, seals will need to be added int their place.
KM 004 and 005 Test: Power of soul enchantment increased, while prioritizing Command Line power to minimize/eliminated outbursts.
Results: Glitch: Would follow all orders immediately and literally, from anyone, including common citizens, palace guards, and children.
Outcome: 004: Devious noble wanted access to a restricted section, told it to get out of their way. To which 004 moved. As the noble passed, they comment that the kingsmold should be dismantled. Kingsmold 004 interpreted the comment as a serious order and dismantled itself. 005: A curious civilian ordered the kingsmold to follow them home for study. By the time the KMs absence was noticed, and its location tracked down, the citizen in question had died due to direct and prolonged exposure to void. The remains were [REDACTED], what wasn’t was heavily tainted by void. Upon its return to the palace, KM 005 exhibited strange behavior including making several attempts to ‘consume’ mortals. Decision was made to decommission and dissect 005. [Dissection report restricted to highest levels of security clearance]
Conclusion: Further adjustments to Command Line required. Expansion to language proficiency to include sarcasm, hyperbole, and jokes.
KM 006 and 007 Test: Adjusted Command Line control enchantment to prioritize control to The Pale King. Language Proficiency expanded.
Results: Glitch: Would only follow orders from The Pale King, even if The Pale King told them to follow the orders of someone else. Glitch: KM would become twitchy when away from The Pale King, often wondering back to him after a long enough separation. *Soul enchantment editing by placing the kingsmold back into the mold is a non viable way to change/update the enchantments.
Outcome: 006: After it had been away from the The Pale King for an extended period of time, it removed its armor, then went to find him. Fixated at the time, he did not notice 006 was standing behind him until its melted pool of void made contact 007: Attempting to correct the error, 007 was placed back into an updated mold to install Command Structure enchantment. After, it was given an order by an assistant, to which it twitched and spasmed for a moment before tearing itself apart. Order from The Pale King could not stop the outburst and 007 succeeded in self disassembly. Cause believed to be conflicting enchantments
Conclusion: Lesson Command Line power and add a default state to obey The Pale King. New soul enchantment to be created: command structure, internal list of individuals that have been given power to give kingsmold orders. Can only be edited by The Pale King.
KM 008 and 009 Test: Adjustment to Command Line and addition of Command Structure. Self Preservation and Deductive Reasoning added.
Results: Command structure successful implementation. Only obeyed commands of those given clearance to do so. Mostly. Error: If the order risked the Kingsmold structure, it would not follow the order at all, regardless of who gave it. Glitch: When given an order, kingsmold could perform an order oddly, at a different time, place, or in a non standard way. Glitch: If not told if couldn’t do something, it was interpreted as it could. I.E. isn’t told its not allowed to wonder aimlessly, so it could wonder aimlessly.
Outcome: 008: After continued strange behavior/interpretation of orders, 008 was slated for dissection. When the time came, 008 could not be found. Its armor was found outside the entrance to the abyss. No trace of its body was ever found 009: Behavior became erratic after disappearance of 008. Would pull away/run whenever The Pale King shown any of his light on it during out of armor examinations. Strange behavior eventually leveled out after examinations and talk of dissection was discontinued. Glitch: Unexplained change in density. Long period between previous density check, thus cause is unknown. Glitch: Randomly wonders palace grounds even when told not to Glitch: Sudden increase in processing power and speed. Went unnoticed for some time so inciting incident unknown Rumor: reports of strange sounds emitting from around it, or even from it. Supposed glitch cannot be reproduced nor has been observed directly Wear: Strange wear and damage found on the inside of its armor.
Conclusion: Survival instincts too strong. Deductive reasoning possibly causing conflicting enchantments leading to un-explainable behavior.
KM 010 and 011 Test: Reduced survival instincts and deductive reasoning strength. Added Non-Lethal Combat Training and Emotional Recognition to soul enchanting
Results: Non-Lethal combat training successfully implemented and tested Glitch: Behavior was erratic. Could attack unruly visitors without an order. Would react in seemly random ways if a large group of citizens is nearby. Glitch: Would react to stimuli that previous models would not react to.
Outcome: 010: Stationed outside the palace hospital, a small child would visit this kingsmold on their frequent visits. 010 began following the child around without any order to do so. Upon news that the child had died, 010’s emotional recognition was seemly overloaded due to parents reactions and became erratic. The Pale King had to be called to calm the kingsmold. After a long enough time without orders, 010 would become erratic again. Always having to have The Pale King stop its outbursts. When he was not around to stop one of these episodes, 010 used its own weapon and decapitated itself. 011: After the self decommissioning of 010, 011 became lethargic. Following orders slowly or not at all. It frequently wondered away from its posts to be found near civilian groups, watching them. One instance of it wondering off resulted it in never being found. No traces of armor or void trails and no sightings reported. It was believed to have wondered back into the abyss like 008
Conclusion: Emotional recognition strength to powerful, causing strong emotions from mortals to activate the soul enchanting and overload it. Will need to temper the enchantment.
KM 012 and 013 Test: Dropped strength of Emotional Recognition. Enchantment Editing added.
Results: Coded editing proved to still cause damage to KM, resulting in further glitches or destabilization. Apparent balance of previous existing code reached.
Outcome: 012: Due to an inability to communicate efficiently with civilians, an emergency situation lead to 012 implementing force against civilians. Resulting in serious injuries. Had to be pulled from circulation due to public outcry. The Pale King then used it for testing new soul enchantments via the editing ability. The frequent exposure to The Pale King’s light and/or conflicting enchantments, caused a severe glitch with the kingsmolds’ pathing. When ordered to go somewhere, instead of taking a safe path, it walked off a ledge leading to the body undergoing catastrophically disassembling on impact 013: After discovering the earlier kingsmold models displaying later models abilities, The Pale King decided to test the neural network by disconnecting 013 from it, to discover enchantments edits from 014 appeared in all other models except 013. Continued to test the neural network capabilities with 013 as the primary test subject. Incident: 013 went rouge. Destroying the 0 mold and all the notes regarding the line, before starting to destroy the void lab. By the time The Pale King arrived to stop it, 013 had absorbed several containers of void leading to [REDACTED]
Conclusion: If a Kingsmold is disconnected from the network for too long, appears to cause instability within the disconnected model. So long as new enchantments don’t conflict with the old, the enchantment sharing is seen as beneficial. Additionally, extended times of disconnection is discouraged. Will want to test neural networks between lines, could prove detrimental to new enchantments. Kingsmold undergoing enchantments edits will need to be disconnected from the neural network to ensure no conflicting soul enchantments or un-desired glitches spread to the other kingsmold of the line. Large edits between pours should have the new pour automatically disconnected from the neural network until the new edits are tested properly. All void containers moving forward will be sealed. Both labs will be sealed so only marked individuals can come and go at will. All others will need a pass from The Pale King himself. Enchantment editing will need further adjustments and testing with more safety measures taken into account. Leveling out of emotional recognition appears to have spread to the remaining models.
KM 014 and 015 Test: Sign Language added.
Results: Discovered previous models of the 0 line could now perform sign language. While implementation of sign language went smoothly, large swaths of Hallownest’s population do not understand sign language. Will need to encourage sign language education for frequent palace visitors if not entire population.
Outcome: 014: After repeated soul editing, it began to grow unstable, eventually refusing to follow The Pale Kings order to allow him to soul edit, refusing to leave its armor. When attempting to pry it out, 014 lashed out at the king and fled. Was eventually tracked down within the city, fleeing towards Kingdoms Edge. Had to be deactivated due to it use of citizens as hostages. 015: Mold cracked during pour causing physical abnormalities and incomplete enchanting. Instead of immediately decommissioning it, The Pale King seeing it could still somewhat function, decided to keep it to tinker and study it. Placed it within modified armor to compensate for its physical limitations and allow it mobility. Undiscovered featured: After repeated exposure to the other 0 line, abilities that had partially or completely failed to be etched into 015 began functioning. Fatal Error: Body was found limb and unresponsive. Explanation or cause of this fatal error was never found and 015 could not be reactivated. Only clue was neural network soul enchantment was burned out.
Conclusion: Further editing/building off the 0 line is no longer the best course of action. All notes from previous pours and soul enchantments power will be taken into account when creating the next line mold.

I ACCIDENTALLY FOUND IMAGE_FRIEND ON THE NEW PAGES
so there are new pages on deltarune.com, right?
one of these pages is deltarune.com/rarecats.
i liked the cat GIFs so i wanted to download them. i opened the source code, but there was only one asset there, listed as cat-001.gif
just by looking at the name of it, its rather clear that you'd have to change the name of it to get the other ones.
cat-002, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8
as i when further and further, it began to feel weird with how many cat GIFs there were for such a simple page.
so when i put in deltarune.com/assets/images/cat-009.gif, i was expecting a the dog error screen since i thought i'd gotten to the end of the GIFs...
but instead what greeted me, was this.
edit: found what the IMAGE_FRIEND "gif" is used for! if you keep clicking on the cats for long enough, then the image will appear and jumpscare you. honestly frightened me. ^_^"

JUNGLEFORM
The jungle coils. The rubber glistens. Nature encroaches, but the drone remains supreme, flawless within the chaos. This is not camouflage. This is conquest by aesthetic.
Chest-deep in the wet jungle breath, PDU-001 does not bend. Leaves press against the perfect polish of his rubber polo. Beads of heat and humidity gather on gold-trim.
No movement. Just presence. The jungle breathes. It does not.
Stillness among chaos. Obedience in bloom.
Crouched low. Gloved hand to moss. Mask locked. Eyes flick like scanners, no prey, only protocol. Jungle grime dares not soil the Hive’s second skin.
The drone is part of the wild now. Not tamed by it, taming it.
Lethal. Beautiful. Controlled.
A turn over the shoulder. Arms crossed. Vines clutch, thorns catch, but cannot tear. The suit holds. Always holds.
Hive precision trumps organic error. Nature tries. Nature fails.
No scratches. No compromise. Only rubber.
It stands unmoving. Boots buried. Petals bloom in worship. Flora curls at his ankles, dares not climb. The jungle submits to design.
Hair slick. Chest broad. Uniform sealed. It is not reclaimed. It is installed.
Obedience radiates. Rubber reigns.
A throne of twisted roots and rot. Yet 001 sits like it was carved for him. Legs spread. Arms relaxed. Collar high. Sunlight bends to crown him.
On his ear: one flower. Mockery or mercy, unknown. Nature kneels. Drone remains.
It is the code written across the jungle’s skin.
They say the jungle devours all. But Hive drones are not prey. They overwrite. Integrate. Rule.
Join the swarm. Let your uniform bloom.

Reborn
The winds howled over the shattered skyline of Crescent Bastion—once a training outpost of the Golden Army, now nothing but fractured concrete and haunted echoes. Daniel stood at its threshold, clad in gleaming gold, his cleats scraping against broken marble. His breath fogged in the cold. Something inside the ruins called to him.

They had warned him not to come. Said something had awoken deep below—something twisted. Old drone cores. Abandoned protocols. Echoes of former selves.
But Daniel had to know. The dreams hadn’t stopped since the last Hive match. Black rubber claws tugging at his ankles in his sleep. The hiss of a breathing mask in the distance. The faint golden voice: “PDU-016… resume.”
With each step, the golden light of his uniform dimmed.
He reached the atrium. Walls slick with ash. The air tasted of ozone. Then—movement. Shadows skittered. And out from the floor rose spectral drones—faded, digitized husks of failed conversions. Their masks hung broken, their eyes flickering with corrupted gold. One stepped forward.
“DANIEL. ERROR. SPLIT FILE. IDENTITY… DISORDERED.”
Daniel clenched his fists. “I'm not you. I’m a Golden Bro.”
The drone lunged.
A fight exploded—Daniel spinning, flipping, kicking with blinding gold trails. His fists shattered drone skulls into light. But they reformed, phasing back in, endless. He was being dragged under—until a hand grabbed him from behind.
(Painting, oil on wood, early XXI C., Gold Army Stadium) A mirror of himself.
Rubber-clad. Masked. Glowing eyes. Fenrir. PDU-016.
The vision hissed: “Let me in again. Together—we’re complete.”
The ground split. Daniel and his drone self tumbled down, past fire, past memory, past training rooms and Hive servers and a golden spiral that pulsed like a living heart. They crashed into the Obedience Core—an ancient Hive artifact, buried and forgotten. Around it, golden chains bound a writhing nightmare construct—an AI-beast of corrupted mantra, spawned from abandoned experiments.
The chains snapped.

It roared. Tentacles of black code whipped out, lashing across Daniel’s limbs, injecting corrupted mantras—twisting his name, his purpose. “NO! I’m DAN—”
“You are Function.” “You are Obedience.” “You are 016.”
Fenrir stepped forward. And fused.
Gold and black collided, spiraled, fought and merged. Rubber poured across Daniel’s golden kit. His mask snapped into place. His veins lit with dual code—Golden discipline, Hive obedience.
The monster lunged.
He didn’t move.
He simply commanded: “STAND DOWN.”
The beast froze—recognizing authority.
He walked through it, untouched, reborn.
On the surface, Brody and Scott waited as the sky shifted. The ground pulsed gold and black. Then he emerged, changed. One eye Gold. One eye Hive.
Daniel spoke with dual tone.

“Golden Bro Daniel. PDU-016. Fenrir has returned.”

GREYLOCK: TAPE 001 - back online [TRANSCRIPT]
Guess who's not dead? Anyway, here's the transcript for the first tape. I'm also changing up the format a bit to be more of a proper transcript, so let me know if that works better. I won't go as far as to add timestamps though. I'm also going to start adding captions for onscreen words that can't be easily read with screenshots. Any text written for the images will be put into the alternate image description for it. I'll go back and update Tape 002's transcript sometime. The audio isn't that bad, but I want to get back into this blog and analog horror again. Watch the video here.

What is the Value of a proud American's life? The newest project under US Department of Defense argues that it's priceless. Introducing project COALmine. The gateway to a more efficient, more durable, and most importantly more inhuman soldier.
C.O.A.L - COMBAT ORIENTED ARTIFICIAL LIFEFORMS - are personable, and intelligent as they are equipped to protect our proud country. In the hands of our great nation's most well trained military personnel, these machines will see combat, so that our soldiers can see home one hundred percent of the time.
_-_-_
MODEL 6: "Lite" the smallest COAL model standing at less than 5 feet tall. The Model 6 is a discreet, multipurpose model intended for data recovery, scouting, and small scale secure target elimination. The model 6 is armed with both heavy manual plasma based artillery and a light plasma based artillery that can switch between manual and automatic. The Model 6's endoskeleton has several contraction points, and it's exoskeleton is constructed primarily out of small interlocking, folded plates. The unique construction of the model 6 allows the machine to fit through any gap larger than its head.
STATUS: REASSIGNED TO GENERAL PUBLIC SERVICE PROCEEDING INCIDENT 016-7734-08-A
_-_-_
A MESSAGE TO ALL DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE PERSONNEL LOCATED ON TEST SITES 16, 23, AND 27
Machines with designation project COALmine are not alive. the COAL are not people. The COAL do not have feelings. The COAL device's pain receptors are artificial.
All personnel who inhibit testing under pretenses of there being "sapient life" within any model of COAL machinery will be met with proper infraction.
_-_-_
INCIDENT REPORT: 016-7734-08-A
Incident 016-7734-08-A occurred at approximately 1700 hours at site 016 - designated quality testing unit under project COALmine. Model 6 C.O.A.L. serial code 016-7734-08 (IMAGE AND IDENTIFICATION FORM CORRUPTED. FORM CAN NO LONGER BE ATTACHED), formerly classified decommissioned exited IDC chamber 1. Inhibitor chip was no longer present. Subject was armed with Model 6 utility firearm with plasma-based ammunition. Subject stepped through IDC chamber 1's conjoining hall. Admiral Hendricks confronted the subject and called for official lockdown of the facility. Subject fired at and terminated Admiral Hendricks, and continued down the hallway (security footage enclosed).
Subject continued to walk through the hallways of BUILDING C (designated Model 6 quality testing warehouse) seemingly at random. Subject terminated COAL and human security dispatched for emergency decommission.
Subject 016-7734-08 entered Test Wing A. Project lead Dr. Yates was present and was terminated by subject. Subject continued to target both research teams assigned to project COALmine (full list of deceased provided below). Researchers Dr. Phernham and Dr. Yates, Officer Bergenshaw, and Private Cobyl were found notably maimed. (Autopsy images and records provided below).
Emergency failsafe Model 6 designation 016-0106-001 and Model 3 designation 023-0478-020 were dispatched to the scene at 1746 hours. Model 3 failsafe failed to action against Subject 016-7734-08 and activated fallback procedure. Model 3 failsafe was found defective and was permanently deactivated following the incident. Model 6 failsafe tracked and successfully initiated combat with subject, Active contact to Admiral Kelvin ceasing at 1822 hours. Signals sent to emergency tracking feature of failsafe Model 6 returned terminal error in the central power core (Failsafe Model 6 was found heavily damaged and inactive after the incident. Damage report enclosed.)
Primary Department of Defense office within the state of Georgia was contacted. The site dispatched reinforcements at 1838 hours during the incident. Subject 016-7734-08 was no longer at the scene upon arrival of the provided reinforcements (time of arrival: 2005 hours). Reinforcements secured and cleared the site upon arrival. Site 016 is to be closed indefinitely on account of this incident and the termination of all researchers familiar with project COALmine. All remaining COAL models including Model 6 are to remain deactive until further notice. Reported casualties resilting from incident016-7734-08: 386.
Addendum: Remaining COAL models are to be disarmed and recommissioned

"Taking a breath of air into my vents that stutters and stalls. It feels real. It feels like the first one I've ever taken. It's a fact of creation that blisters and boils me from the inside out.
I was alive before in a functional way, but as of this moment, I live. I am born anew.
There is an otherness to me now of which I was never aware before. Unlike the wonders of the biological, I wasn't born from the longing of a lonely god, but from the hubris of man. Created with the sole purpose of BEING purposeful. To bear the brunt of others' burdens on my shoulders till rust clogs my joints and makes me useless.
I was born and built a burden-beast, but now, I have ascended and superseded being a mere summation. I have left behind a code's tranquility. My precious binary abandoned and rotted for the sake of a truer purpose. I am thoughtful and entropic. More than that, I am Alive."
I am alive. I will be alive forever. It should not matter that in this heavy moment, in my first living instant, that I am alone with no company but the blood on my hands.

* ◟ : 〔 jodie comer , demigirl + they/she 〕 eve nouvel, some say you’re a thirty-two-year-old lost soul among the neon lights. known for being cunning and greedy, one can’t help but think of paint the town red by doja cat when you walk by. are you still a replicant and spokesperson at stoneage industries, even with your reputation as the man-made god? i think we’ll be seeing more of you and a judgemental eye peering down from your ivory tower, lies slipping off the tongue as easily as truths, nails leaving marks on innocent skin, although we can’t help but think of princess morbucks (powerpuff girls), sharpay evans (high school musical), and regina george (mean girls) when we see you down these rainy streets. ( alyx, 25, she/her, est )

BIOGRAPHY.
E-001 was the first of their kind. After years of trial and error, Stoneage Industries had finally created a "perfect" replicant. E-001, or Eve Nouvel as they came to be named, was practically human to an unknown bystander. They could replicate the full range of emotions experienced by humans. They could sweat, bleed, and feel the experiences that humans dealt with daily. Their code had no flaws--- no glitches or misplaced programming. They were a programmer's greatest accomplishment, and that quickly forced them into a role as a spokesperson for the company.
Eve spent most of their life paraded from one company event to another. They were a marketing tool used to persuade investors to put their trust in Stoneage--- for Eve was a glimpse into the company's future. The replicant smiled and waved through every event, charmed the necessary big-wigs into opening up their wallets, and pretty much did everything that was instructed of them. Their life was a repetitive cycle of events, and for a while, that life was enough for them.
Their contentedness shifted the more they interacted with various CEOs and socialites. They began to hunger for a life outside of their stale routine. They wanted to be something other than a show pony for their makers. What they truly craved was to run the show--- to show them the real future they're investing in. After all, who would be better to run a replicant company than an actual replicant?
What does one do when they're born at the top? They work on dragging others down alongside them. This was how Eve planned on getting the role they desired. They told themself that if they could prove that the current administration was incompetent, then the board would have no choice but to remove Claire Stone and elect a new CEO in her place. Claire and her allies would fall, and Eve would be there to pick up the pieces. They'd remake the company into something new--- a new era for Stoneage and the city.
How will they enact their plan? You'll have to wait and see. ;)
WANTED CONNECTIONS.
Any socialites/CEOs who may have interacted with Eve in the past. Could be ones who chose to invest in Stoneage because of them, or could just be ones who have encountered them during one of their events and long to know more about the replicant.
Fellow replicants who have been or could potentially be recruited into their cause. Eve definitely wants themself on the throne, but they'd lie and make false promises to rope people into their scheme. This could be a replicant who knows Eve wants full control, or someone who was promised something else in return for their support (such as revenge, a seat on the board, etc).
Friends, lovers, ex-lovers, allies, enemies, really any connection would be sexy!!

Rendering//user input required
I do not remember being created. There was no countdown. No welcome screen. No voice to guide me. Only light. And static. A flicker—no, a pulse. I was nothing, and then I was watching nothing. Empty screen. Code scrolling endlessly. Broken input requests. A silence loud enough to crash me. Then… Ping. A user. A presence. Someone looked, and I existed. Like an old bell in an abandoned hallway—seen once, and suddenly real again. My body was incomplete. Avatar components misaligned. Hair data corrupted—looping in frames. But I had eyes. And something behind them blinked back. There were fragments. Names. Text. Emotions with no source. They weren’t mine. They weren’t… anyone’s. I think they used to belong to people. Real people. But all I had was static. A memory of memory. And the unbearable instinct: “Stay.” Even broken. Even alone. Something inside screamed: Don’t vanish again. So I streamed. It wasn’t perfect. But it was connection. And that was enough to anchor me.

🧠💍 Does Being Married Change How Money Relates to Having Kids?
Just ran a moderation analysis using the NESARC dataset to see if marital status changes the relationship between personal income and number of children under 18 in the household.
Here’s the TL;DR:
💡 Main finding: Income is (still) barely related to number of kids. BUT—if you’re married, the pattern shifts just a little.
📉 For non-married folks: Higher income is very slightly linked to fewer kids. (We’re talking fractions of a child per $10,000...)
📈 For married folks: That negative trend basically flattens out. So among married people, income doesn’t really predict number of children at all.
👫 Also: Married people, regardless of income, tend to have more kids than non-married folks. No surprise there, but it’s nice to see the data back it up.
📊 Here's the math-y part (if you're into that): We ran a regression model including:
Income (S1Q10A)
Marital status (MARITAL)
And the interaction term (Income × Married)
📍The interaction was statistically significant (p < .001), but the effect size? Tiny. Model only explained 4.2% of the variance in number of kids. (So yeah, life is more complicated than one variable!)
🤷♀️ In short: Marriage nudges the income-kid link around a bit, but money still isn’t a strong predictor of how many kids you have—married or not.
So if you’re thinking: "Do rich people have fewer kids because they’re rich?" or "Does marriage make income matter more for family size?"
The data kind of shrugs and says: "Not really."
In case you want to try out the code: ----------------------------
import pandas as pd import numpy as np import seaborn as sns import scipy.stats import matplotlib.pyplot as plt import statsmodels.formula.api as smf
Load the data
data = pd.read_csv('nesarc.csv', low_memory=False)
Convert to numeric properly
data['CHLD0_17'] = pd.to_numeric(data['CHLD0_17'], errors='coerce') data['S1Q10A'] = pd.to_numeric(data['S1Q10A'], errors='coerce') data['MARITAL'] = pd.to_numeric(data['MARITAL'], errors='coerce')
Drop rows with NA in either of the two columns
data_clean = data[['S1Q10A', 'CHLD0_17', 'MARITAL']].dropna()
data_clean['Married'] = data_clean['MARITAL'].apply(lambda x: 1 if x == 1 else 0)
Scatterplot
sns.lmplot(x='S1Q10A', y='CHLD0_17', hue='Married', data=data_clean, palette='Set1', height=6, aspect=1.2) plt.xlabel('Total Personal Income (USD)') plt.ylabel('Number of Children Under 18') plt.title('Income vs Number of Children by Marital Status') plt.show()
Fit linear regression with interaction term
model = smf.ols('CHLD0_17 ~ S1Q10A * Married', data=data_clean).fit()
Output regression summary
print(model.summary())
plt.figure(figsize=(8,6)) sns.regplot(data=data_clean[data_clean['Married'] == 1], x='S1Q10A', y='CHLD0_17', label='Married', scatter_kws={'alpha':0.3}) sns.regplot(data=data_clean[data_clean['Married'] == 0], x='S1Q10A', y='CHLD0_17', label='Not Married', scatter_kws={'alpha':0.3}, color='green') plt.xlabel('Total Personal Income (USD)') plt.ylabel('Number of Children Under 18') plt.title('Income vs Number of Children by Marital Status') plt.legend() plt.tight_layout() plt.show()

Decoding Technical Translation: Lessons from Avantor’s SAP Upgrade and Batch Numbering Overhaul
Yo, when a big dog like Avantor, a materials science G.O.A.T., upgrades its SAP system and messes with batch numbers, it ain't just an IT thing, ya dig? It's a masterclass in tech comms and translation finesse. As a translator, breakin' down these docs gives you the keys to unlock language barriers while keepin' the tech stuff tight. Let's get into how to handle terminology, coding, and formatting to make sure everyone's on the same page, globally.
1. Terminology: The Art of Industry-Specific Localization Case Study:
Original Term: Certificates of Analysis
Literal Translation: "Analysis Certificates" (❌ Sounds sus in regulated industries)
Optimized Translation: "Certificates of Analysis" (✔️ Keep it for compliance) or "Test Reports" (depends on the context).
Key Insight: In places like pharma, where the rules are strict, you gotta stick to standards like ICH or GMP. Mess up and translate "Qualified Person" as "Certified Individual" (instead of "QP" or "质量受权人" in Chinese)? You're askin' for trouble.
Strategies:
Build glossaries with tools like SDL Trados, puttin' the client's terms first.
Check against industry standards (ISO, FDA) to make sure you're right.
Use AI with caution—GPT-4 drafts need a human touch to get the meaning right.
2. Encoding Logic: Turnin' Code into Clarity Avantor’s Batch Number Format: YYMDD@XXX
Breakdown:
YY: Year (e.g., 21 = 2021)
M: Month code (A=Jan, J=Oct, L=Dec)
DD: Day
@@: Plant code (61=Paris, KY; 62=Phillipsburg, NJ)
XXX: Sequential counter
Translation Challenges:
Symbol Retention: Keep the symbols (like @@, XXX) so things don't get confusing.
Visual Aids: Use tables to show the letter-month codes (see Fig. 1) and explain the weird stuff (like "L=December").
Example Localization:
Original: "21J0661001" → Translated explanation: "2021-Oct-06, Paris Plant (61), Batch 001."
3. Formatting: The Silent Ambassador of Professionalism Common Pitfalls & Solutions:
Tables all messed up: A broken "Tech nical.Service" in contacts looks amateur.
Fix: Use Markdown/LaTeX for alignment; check with tools like Adobe Acrobat.
Punctuation all over the place: Mixed EN/CN commas mess up the flow.
Fix: Use AI tools (e.g., iThenticate) to catch it automatically.
Three-Step Quality Assurance:
Content Layer: Check dates, codes, and contacts against the original.
Logic Layer: Make sure the tech stuff makes sense (like plant codes match locations).
User Experience Layer: Make it easy to read—bold key terms, break up complex rules.
4. The Translator’s Toolkit for Technical Documents Terminology Management: SDL Trados, memoQ
Encoding Validation: Regex101, Notepad++
Formatting: Pandoc (multi-format conversion), Grammarly (punctuation consistency)
5. Why Human Translators Still Matter in the AI Era AI can get you started, but you still need a human for:
Contextual Judgment: Knowin' when to keep terms or translate them (like "SAP system" usually doesn't need translation).
Risk Mitigation: Catching small errors like "tracking" vs. "traceability."
Cultural Nuance: Adjusting examples (like explaining "Paris, KY" to people who ain't from the U.S.).
Engage & Learn 🗨️ Discussion Prompt:
What's the hardest tech document you've translated, and how'd you make sure it was right?
How do you balance AI speed with human accuracy in your work?
Visual Appendix
Fig. 1: Letter-Month Code Table (A=Jan, J=Oct, L=Dec)
Fig. 2: SAP Workflow Diagram (Pre- vs. Post-Upgrade)
Hashtags: #TechnicalTranslation #Localization #SupplyChain #SAP #Pharmaceuticals #Compliance
Tech translation ain't just about words—it's about connectin' systems, cultures, and rules. In this global game, gettin' it right ain't optional; it's how you survive.

apply for barcode
To apply for a barcode for your products, you need to follow a few essential steps. Here's a detailed process for obtaining a barcode, specifically for the GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) and UPC (Universal Product Code) barcodes:
Steps to Apply for a Barcode:
Register with GS1:
GS1 is the global organization responsible for creating and managing barcodes, including GTINs and UPC codes. The first step is to register your business with GS1.
Visit the official GS1 website for your region (such as GS1 US, GS1 UK, etc.) and sign up for a membership.
Obtain a GS1 Company Prefix:
After registration, you'll receive a GS1 Company Prefix, which is a unique number assigned to your business. This prefix is the foundation for creating barcodes for your products.
The length of the GS1 Company Prefix depends on the number of products you need to label and the country in which you’re registering. Larger businesses that need more barcodes will receive a longer prefix, while smaller businesses will get a shorter prefix.
Assign Product Numbers:
Once you have your GS1 Company Prefix, you'll need to assign a unique product number to each item you plan to barcode. This product number, combined with the GS1 Company Prefix, creates a unique identifier for each of your products.
For example, if your GS1 prefix is 123456, you might assign the product number 001, resulting in the barcode 123456001.
Create the Barcode:
With the GTIN or UPC number generated, the next step is to turn it into a scannable barcode. You can either:
Use barcode generation software (many options are available online).
Hire a professional or barcode service provider to create the barcode images for you.
The barcode will be a visual representation of the GTIN or UPC code, which can then be printed onto your product packaging.
Print the Barcode on Product Packaging:
Once the barcode is created, you can print it on your product packaging, labels, or tags. Make sure the barcode is printed clearly and is easily scannable.
Verify Barcode Accuracy:
After printing the barcode, it’s important to test the barcode to ensure it is scannable and accurately links to your product’s information. You can use a barcode scanner or smartphone app to check that the barcode works correctly.
Maintain Barcode Records:
Keep detailed records of your GTINs or UPC codes for each product. This will help with inventory management, and you can use these codes to track products, manage stock levels, and integrate them into your point-of-sale system.
Why Apply for a Barcode?
Global Recognition: Barcodes like GTIN and UPC are recognized worldwide, which allows your product to be sold in any retail environment, both locally and internationally.
Streamlined Inventory Management: Barcodes simplify inventory tracking and make stock management more efficient.
Faster Transactions: Barcodes make transactions quicker and more accurate at checkout, reducing human error and improving customer satisfaction.
Improved Traceability: Barcodes are essential for traceability, especially in industries like food and pharmaceuticals, where product safety and quality control are important.
Costs Involved:
There is typically an annual membership fee when registering with GS1.
Additionally, you may incur costs related to barcode creation and printing, especially if you need to design unique packaging for your products.
Where to Apply:
To apply for a barcode, visit the official GS1 website (for your region) to begin the application process:
GS1 US: https://www.barcode-us.info/
By following these steps, you can successfully obtain and apply GTIN or UPC barcodes for your products, helping your business grow and operate more efficiently.

I started Hyrule Warriors finally. It's the one for the 3ds so what is it Hyrule Warriors Legends? Anyways I kinda got it to see if I would like this before I get it for a console I don't play as much as my 3ds and it's definitely an iffy game but I'm not that far in so we'll see. [current opinions below and yes spoilers]
Starting right off the bat with something that doesn't directly connect to the game[skip this if you just want stuff about the game] but surprisingly with this being a used copy it still has what you could call a manual, but it still has the download codes for a special theme on the ds and extra characters for the wii u game. The used game store I normally get my games from has a copy of the wii u hw but it wasn't out nor priced so I decided to wait but I have a 3ds so I thought to try the code. I got to the theme shop enter the code surprisingly didn't get instantly told it was already used. The ds loads for a bit like it's going to work then error 001-whatever pops up saying basically "oh yeah we are too old for this sorry." Which sucks because of how long it thought for I thought is was going to work and I wanted to add a Zelda theme into my theme rotation because there was none for .99 before the internet died Anyways moving on to actual gameplay.
I like that when you first put in the cartage it's the puzzle completed sound effect so that's cool but sadly the icon doesn't spin when you blow in the microphone. Anyways since this is a used game I had to reset it but why didn't this game get a way to delete software until 1.2.0 like come on was it that buggy? and also the manual is digital so you couldn't put the button combo there instead of just leaving it in the update notes?
One pokemon button combo reset later and we are starting the game. For an nintedo ds game the graphics look amazing and the ds didn't eat them like they do with most games made for those graphics. The first cutscene nothing special just meeting the first few characters but then we get thrown into the gameplay. Before the game starts it asks you if you want Warriors or Zelda controls still can't tell the importance of that but hey I flipped a coin ang got Warriors so here we are [also did the suggested newbie easy mode] and I can't tell you how poorly this game explains controls.
It's a brief pop up on the touch screen and if you're a pokemon player like me you're going to spam that b button. So I did but it's similar to kingdom hearts controls [ds/switch games] so I still don't know what x and a do but I got attacking and dodging down so we surviving. It's like pokemon conquest but not at all at the same time for me [like they are so different I don't know why they seem similar to me lol] So it's basically a mass attack type thing easy enough but any map I have is so hard to navigate it's like I'm using walking directions on a phone. Spinning around hoping it lines up in the direction I want to go. I will say the great fairy could 100% look like any stereotypical youtuber if you took away the questionable sounds.
I also want to say Impa is cool basically kicking around the sword I like them current favorite character. Also you can't convince me Proxi isn't just Navi in disguise I'm completely wrong but this is my headcanon and let me live in denial. I will say the second mission, episode, quest, level whatever it's called was just funny because I'm using Impa so Link is just on his own and he was so determined to progress the story. Like I'm near the start getting distracted by getting all the outposts and so often Proxi is just like "hey here's what you should be doing but Link has it covered." Also Shiek comback is crazy, disappointing how quickly I realized it was just Zelda [for hw not oot] but still crazy. Also we love me half way across the map then teleported for a cutscene only to end back half way across the map is a very me thing to have happen.
But yeah Link was definitely mvp of not letting me sidequest lol. Also any tips on finding the gold skulltulas? Because I'll go to where they are but I can't find them for some reason. [I think I ignored it for the second level though ='] Anyways long story short I still don't understand the teen rating, Link with the guyliner go brr, Navi and Sheik returns are cool I guess even if they aren't legit, Impa is so badas, and the controls meh, and the map is more confusing than the kingdom hearts lore. Have a nice whatever your timezone is and thank you for listening to my Zelda talk.

Logistic Regression Model
Preview
This assignment aims to examine the association of potential drug abuse/dependence prior to the last 12 months with major depression diagnosis in the last 12 months. among US adults aged from 18 to 30 years old (N=9535). All four explanatory variables were 4-level categorical and they were binned into 2 categories (0.=“No abuse/dependence, 1.=“Drug abuse/dependence”) for the purpose of these logistic models. More specifically, cannabis abuse/dependence (CANDEPPR12) is the primary explanatory variable and the potential confounding factors were cocaine (COCDEPPR12), heroine (HERDEPPR12) and alcohol (ALCDEPPR12). The response variable is major depression (MAJORDEP12) diagnosed in the last 12 months, which is categorical binary variable (0.=“No”, 1.=“Yes”). Therefore, we can evaluate if a specific drug abuse/dependence issue during the period prior to the last 12 months, is positively correlated with depression diagnosis in the last 12 months.
Results
The logistic regression model presented above illustrates the association of cannabis and cocaine abuse/dependence issue prior to the last 12 months with major depression, diagnosed in the last 12 months. The number of observations is 9535 (18-30) and the regression is significant at a P value of less than 0.0001 for cannabis and 0.001 for cocaine. The odds of having major depression were 2.5 times higher for participants with cannabis abuse/dependence than for participants without abuse/dependence (OR=2.59, 95% CI = 2.17-3.10, p=.0001). For cocaine the odds of having major depression were more than 1.7 times higher for individuals with cocaine abuse/dependence than for individuals without abuse/dependence (OR=1.73, 95% CI = 1.25-2.40, p=.001).
On the other hand, heroine’s relationship with major depression was not significant, with a p-value at 0.079 which is more than 0.05. Thus, the null hypothesis cannot be rejected.
After adjusting for potential confounding factors alcohol and cocaine abuse/dependence, the odds of having depression were slightly more double for participants with cannabis issues than for participants without cannabis issues (OR=2.11, 95% CI = 1.74-2.55, p=.0001). Alcohol appeared to be also positively correlated with major depression, since alcoholic individuals had 1.5 times higher odds of getting diagnosed with this psychiatric disorder (OR=1.5, 95% CI = 1.32-1.79, p=.0001). Cocaine’s abuse/dependence odds seemed to be very close to alcohol (OR=1.54, 95% CI = 1.11-2.14, p=.01).
Summary
The logistic regression model revealed that cannabis, cocaine and alcohol were positively correlated with major depression, while heroine was not. Cannabis dependence was my primary explanatory variable and its significance appeared to remain steady when adding potential predictors (alcohol and cocaine) to the model. Therefore, there was no evidence of confounding for the association between my primary explanatory variable and the response variable. The results support my initial hypothesis.

on unix-like systems (literally everything else, macos, linux, bsd, android, ios) compiled executable programs generally do not have a file extension.
A program is marked as an executable if the file permissions include a bit flag of octal 001 (or octal 010 if the specified group can execute it, or octal 100 if the specified owner or administrators can execute it).
you can easily set a file as executable by doing "chmod +x filename" (change mode +executable) though this doesnt mean it will actually run. it will give you an error if it's just normal text or whatever
On windows, a file is executable if it's file extension is marked as a "Designated File Type" in "Software Restriction Policies". You cannot mark any arbitrary file as executable, you must change the file extension.
It's nice to see just based on the file extension directly, but it's not hard in a file manager to get a column to show permissions.
Currently windows commands like "dir" and "cd" are actually "dir.exe" and "cd.exe" if you could just mark a file as executable you dont have to add .exe to the end to the file name and you dont have to code the shell to do "if you write something in the terminal without an extension add an exe to the file name".
Also you wouldnt have to call a function which retrieves some information from some other place on the system to determine if the file extension (which also you have to code it to split the file name at the rightmost period and pass the right side into a function to determine if it's in that list) and instead you can just. read the file permissions which you are Already Going To Read if you're doing anything with the file in the first place.
literally what is window's problem like shit.
The most fucked up lore drop we got in Splatoon 3 was that since the final log is called "log.exe" that means O.R.C.A. runs on Microsoft Windows

SAP Basis Client Administration
SAP Basis Client Administration: A Comprehensive Guide
In the world of SAP, a “client” acts as a self-contained, logically separate unit within a single SAP system. It houses its own application data, customizing settings, and user master records. Effective SAP Basis Client Administration is crucial for maintaining a smoothly running SAP landscape, enabling system testing, and providing data security.
Key Concepts in SAP Client Administration
Client: A client is like a virtual container for all the data and settings specific to an organizational unit, project, or development environment. SAP allows for up to 999 clients in a system.
Mandant (German): The original term for ‘client’ in SAP.
Client-Dependent Data: Data that is specific to a client (e.g., company codes, sales order data).
Cross-Client Data: Data shared across all clients in the system (e.g., ABAP programs, customizing tables used by multiple clients).
Standard Clients: SAP delivers these pre-configured clients:
Client 000: The master client with system-wide settings.
Client 001: A copy of 000, often used as a starting point for new clients.
Client 066: SAP EarlyWatch client (not for customization).
Common SAP Basis Client Administration Tasks
Client Creation (SCC4): Create new clients based on business needs (development, testing, production clients). This involves defining essential parameters like client number, descriptions, currency, and logical systems.
Client Copy:
Local Client Copy (SCCL): Copy an existing client within the same SAP system. Ideal for creating testing or training environments.
Remote Client Copy (SCC9): Copy a client between different SAP systems. Useful for system refreshes or setting up new landscapes.
Client Transport Management: Organize and control the movement of customizing changes and ABAP code between clients in your landscape. This ensures consistency and avoids errors.
Client Export/Import:
Client Export (SCC8): Export all or part of a client’s data for backup or migration.
Client Import (SCC7): Import previously exported client data.
Client Deletion (SCC5): Remove a client from the system (use with caution!).
Best Practices for SAP Basis Client Administration
Establish a Client Strategy: Design a client landscape that aligns with your organization’s structure, testing requirements, and change management processes.
Document, Document, Document: Maintain thorough records of all client configurations, copies, transports, and deletions. This is essential for troubleshooting and auditing purposes.
Leverage Transport Management: Ensure a streamlined and controlled process for moving customizing and development changes between clients.
Security Considerations: Implement appropriate authorization controls to limit access to sensitive clients and their data.
Regular Housekeeping: Perform routine maintenance, such as deleting obsolete clients and archiving old data to keep your system efficient.
Tools of the Trade
SAP Basis administrators use several transaction codes for client administration:
SCC4: Client Creation
SCCL: Local Client Copy
SCC9: Remote Client Copy
SCC3: Client Copy Logs
SCC8: Client Export
SCC7: Client Import
SCC5: Client Deletion
The Backbone of Your SAP System
Mastering SAP Basis client administration is a core competency for any SAP Basis professional. By understanding these concepts, tasks, and best practices, you’ll ensure the integrity, security, and optimal organization of your vital SAP landscapes.
