Locked Down Live From La Maison

This cover version of the wonderful song by Jeff Lynne of ELO was requested by a friend, while we are all locked down in our various corners of the world. This version was the "sound check" before going live on Facebook, and has a tiny bit of reaction at the end from a certain 5 month old. I felt that this performance was a bit better than the one that went to Facebook, so why not geek out and post the alternative rendition. Recorded in Orsay, France. Words and music by Jeff Lynne.

Rest In Peace Kenny Rogers. This song was a massive hit during a time that young Jesse was glued to his radio. “The Gambler” was a good chunk of the inspiration for Jesse’s “For The Thrill Of It All.” The original video of “The Gambler” is a classic in its cheesy simplicity. Definitely check that out.

This is part of our European Lockdown series, and in this case, the backing tracks were recorded in low fi fashion, after Genna suggested that harmonies were needed.
