What’s so interesting about star trek tos is that all this crazy batshit stuff happens but it’s never brought up again. BUT not only that, the characters still gradually change. Their relationships with each other grow. Stuff evolves. It’s not like, ‘well that happened, time to reset!’ It’s more like, ‘things happened that are never going to be mentioned ever again but we have still changed.’ And it’s fucking baffling

#idk I’m thinking about how after the tholian web McCoy and Spock became softer towards each other #even before that with bread and circuses they had a breakthrough #but the only time a past episode is even remotely referenced that I can think of is the return of Mudd #I’m not counting the movies cause I haven’t seen them #also cause I know Khan comes back and I just don’t think it contributes anything to my current topic #star trek #star trek tos #star trek the original series
