#event: challenger's path

Zazie is, put simply, estactic. The Wam isn't really part of their network proper, but that's not the points. It's a worm. It's one of them. And so far, Zazie has just been showing it off to anyone who happens to be in the area. Mostly people haven't been pleased to have a large, flying worm in their face, but the reactions of disgust don't phase the Beast one bit.

They almost make them nostalgic.

Speaking of nostalgia… their spy bug spots a familiar form around the corner and the Wam grabs Zazie by the shoulders, flying them the short distance between them and Meryl. "Hey!" they hum, grinning. "Vash told me you might be around somewhere."

"Man, how many more of these things do we have to go through..?!"

Though they'd only gone through a couple of the holes so far, shaped to their bodies and the positions they were expected to make, Lloyd was already looking tired; having narrowly avoided being knocked into the water on the last run. His hands were on his knees, bent over as he tried to catch his breath; while Twoishe chirped in excitement, ready for the next challenge.

"This kinda reminds me of tryin' to get through one of the temples back at home.. never thought I'd have to do one of these dumb puzzles again. How come you're so good at this, Aster?"

"When you asked for my help with a challenge, Kay.. this.. is not what I had in mind."

Now this was an unusual sight-- Richter Abend, the studious, no-nonsense half-elf was, in a rare moment, unsure of himself. The task before them seemed simple enough-- create a dish that would satiate the Spiramonsters before you. Participants were even given an abundance of ingredients, a multitude of choices that should have made things easy for them-- but for Richter, it was as if he was looking at something he had never seen before.

He felt his eyebrow twitch, frowning ever so slightly, as Solstice rubbed up against his leg; trying to soothe its masters anxieties, and.. embarrassment.

".... I can't cook. I've only done it once in my life. Certainly, I could prepare something and put it on a plate-- but I cannot guarantee that it will be edible." A challenge, indeed.

"Woah! Hey! Slow down!" Leon considers himself to be in pretty good shape-- has to be in his line of work. But that doesn't mean keeping up with a big dog like Bingo is easy. What's the point of keeping a dog on a leash if he can just pull it out of Leon's hand?

Bingo barrels straight into a young man a few feet away, wagging his tail as he inspects the man and his spiramon. When he finally catches up, Leon beckons Bingo back, his own spiramon, another "dog", trailing a few feet behind.

"Sorry, I think my dog saw yours and got excited. He's friendly, I promise." He puts a hand on the dog's head, sighing. "You keep bowling over strangers and eventually you're going to get me in a lot of trouble, you know that?"

Leon shakes his head, glancing at the stranger.

"You aren't hurt, right? I've been trying to teach him to quit jumping up like that..."

idk how much i will actually write for this event but here's ishmael's monster. ishmael was hanging out on a boat and then a sperm whale poked its head out of the water and tried to give him a little kiss and nearly killed him, and now they're bonded for life and ishmael comes over to the ocean every morning to say hello. this is how he found out the event was happening.

its name is catch-a-lot of-fish.[1] it is a literal whale shrunk to the size of a horse. this image may not actually be to scale because i don't know how big a horse is.

INSULATE: it uses blubber to maintain its internal body temperature

"Why is it looking at me like that...?" Lilith's face contorts in revulsion as the little bird thing dips into the water. To some others it might be cute, but she's never been a fan of birds; no matter how whimsical they look.

Her own Spiramon, which she's affectionately named 'Fawn', stands behind her, its head resting on her shoulder. It's quite affectionate toward its owner, though the way it looks at others could be considered disturbing. At first glance, it looks like a normal deer... at least you think so. But... is that how many limbs deer are supposed to have? How many eyes? You're not sure.

"What can it do, exactly?" She taps on the little witch hat, dunking its head into the potion in front of it. "It looks more like a toy than a creature."

CHALLENGER'S PATH: information

Paprika will indeed participate in the CHALLENGER'S PATH, followed about by her spectral companion known as Ebony.

Ebony is a spectral cloth-borne entity made of Reaper's Cloth fabric, being soft yet cold to the touch. Impish, opinionated, and intelligent, this Spectre may try to steal or pick locks, play pranks, and confuse those around it. Mysteriously, the only solid part of the body is the steel horn protruding from their chest.

Ebony's moves:

• Signal Beam: A confusing, dazzling beam of glowing blue energy. Has a chance to confuse.

• Confusion: An attack using psychic Force. Low chance to confuse.

• Perish Song: A particularly dark song that causes all who hear it to pass out after a brief period. Harmless, but try to watch your head.

• Psyblade: Manifests a blade of spectral psychic power, striking quickly. Slightly higher chance to deal critical hits.

• Fadeaway: Fades out of the Material Plane, becoming intangible for a brief period against physical attacks.

Special Ability: Ghost Cloak- Can be worn as a cloak or other outerwear, providing warmth despite the chill. Otherwise, entity is partially in the Ethereal at all times.

Ebony takes a lot of Paprika's hidden traits and brings the out- the 'Inner Persona' if you would. As such, one can expect it to enjoy playing tricks and being spooky (if harmless)- think of them as a bedsheet ghost but like. Actually a ghost.

challenger's path: spiramonster

zazie's spiramonster is called Wam

looks like one of the grand worms (see below), but it's only about three feet long

its attacks/moves are:

bite! it chomps

venomous bite! it chomps but with venom

bioluminescence! it glows. not really an attack but it can lure things to it

tunnel! digs real fast

hover! can float/fly for short distances

With its tail wagging happily, Noishe sits with its new found companion on his head; an almost smile present on the Protozoan's jaw as Twoishe barks and chirps in excitement.

richter hasn't had a cat hanging around him in a long time (sorry aqua), so this event will be.. quite interesting, to say the least! there might be some getting used to with a creature that can openly display his emotions and mirror how he feels about people.. but, y'know. no need to worry about that!

in any case, this is my starter call for the event-- capping at three for the time being. these will be specifically for challenges, though if there's anything else you'd like to do, feel free to shoot me a DM!

Ishmael leans against a tree, delightedly watching a handful of dogs run by. With the "Spiramonsters" (he still doesn't really understand television or cell phones) here, there have been many new arrivals at the dog park. While he finds some of the new animals a bit... strange, he won't complain about the sudden influx.

Cider (Nicknamed Apple Cider by Kay- Short for Cat Spider) is a curious little creature!

It can only steal small things, but it's really good at it. Say goodbye to your small change, pencils and pens, and snacks.

It keeps a stash of stolen items under the couch.

Has a very loud purr

Just as content to loaf on the ceiling as to loaf on the floor

It bites (just like Kay). Thankfully, the bites don't hurt very much because it has very small teeth.

Vash's Spiramonster: TOMBI

TOMBI is just a little guy. ń_ǹ."

TOMBI's appearance is a bit deceiving: its "teeth" are actually soft flaps of skin, and he is in fact completely toothless. A headbutt from its thick skull would likely cause more damage than its gummy bite, but TOMBI is extremely averse to fighting to the point where it does not know any damaging moves. While naturally quite a shy and timid creature, TOMBI is absurdly loyal and will rarely ever disobey commands, even if his own health is demanded to the point of self-KO. Additionally, he boasts a high amount of HP, which he utilizes for his supportive moves. Vash loves this little guy, and would welcome anyone asking for a copy of him. He's not explaining whatever's up with the glowing markings on it, though.

Lo(o)se Tail — Technically, either a passive ability or a commanded move. TOMBI's tail is dense and detachable. Attacks directed toward the tail do not affect TOMBI's base HP, but it can only suffer a finite amount of damage before it is rendered unusable. TOMBI can also be commanded to detach the tail (ie: TOMBI is caught by the tail, or an opposing Spiramonster has latched onto it), but this comes at a price: its heavy tail is used as a counterbalance to its massive skull, therefore if detached, TOMBI will be highly prone to toppling over. (And crying. A lot. See 'Tantrum'). TOMBI's tail will only regenerate when it is swapped out for another Spiramonster, since it has performance anxiety.

Tantrum — TOMBI takes a pratfall, wailing loudly and making a big deal out of it. This pathetic display draws opponent Spiramonster attention, putting them in a state of confusion and aggression. Affected Spiramonsters' attacks will be directed solely toward TOMBI until the enraged Spiramonsters are switched out for another.

Defender — A sharp rush of agility and speed overtakes TOMBI, set to defend another Spiramonster. It will throw itself into the way of harm to protect its target. The buff lasts until TOMBI's tail is severed or detached, or if TOMBI is commanded to use Tantrum. When TOMBI's tail is detached, it no longer has access to this move.

Grand Restore — A healing move. The amount of health restored is equivalent to the amount of health TOMBI sacrifices of itself. If ordered, TOMBI will KO himself to heal the target. This move cures confusion and enraged statuses for both the user and the target. TOMBI must make physical contact with his head onto the target for this move to work. TOMBI's underbelly markings will glow while using this move.

Drain Orb — When pushed to its utmost limits, TOMBI may use this last-resort move. A dark core of gravity appears in its mouth, sucking in nearby allies and foes alike to its epicenter. Before anyone can get close enough to get absorbed, however, TOMBI will become overwhelmed with fear and snap its jaws shut, swallowing the attack before it can cause any damage. It will have hiccups for the rest of the battle. This is the only move TOMBI will not willingly perform on command.
