How much does it cost and what is included? The fee for each weeklong Tour is $95. That includes ID badges for driver and one passenger, and a window sticker for each vehicle. You will receive a goody bag filled with catalogs and literature, a commemorative hat, and a metal license plate. Participants receive the entire week’s schedule and maps for each day’s travels. You will get behind-the-scenes looks at some fantastic private automotive collections as well as private tours of some of the best street rod manufacturers and shops.

How are hotels rooms handled along the way? You will receive a hotel list soon after you register for the Tour. Each participant is responsible for booking their rooms directly with the hotels. We use national chains wherever possible, and rooms generally range from $85 to $120 per night.

Does everyone stay together on the highway? Since each day’s route is mapped out, we encourage people to go at their own pace. Most participants quickly find others within the group who travel at a similar speed. A drivers’ meeting is held each morning to explain the day’s itinerary before we hit the road.

How far do we travel each day? A typical Road Tour day is between 250 and 400 miles, depending on whether we have a specific lunch stop or not. People stop for gas and restroom breaks when needed.

What about the Tours that stay in one area for the whole week? Some of the Tours stay in one area the entire week and include day trips to museums, collections, and rod shops, returning to the same hotel each evening.

How are meals handled? We have been able to enjoy some great complimentary meals along our Tours. Evening shop tours frequently include food, but not every day includes a complimentary meal.

How many cars participate on the Tours? Most Tours are between 20 to 35 vehicles. We have had as many as 80 vehicles and as few as 10. About 80 percent of the participants are couples.

Are there restrictions on the type of cars that can register for the Tours? The Road Tour is about having fun driving a street rod. We would prefer that you drive an early special-interest vehicle and not a late-model vehicle. Trailered cars, motor homes, and camping trailers are not permitted on the Road Tour.

Do we participate in the car events at the beginning and end of each week’s Tour? Our Tours cover the week BETWEEN the events. You will be responsible for registering for the beginning and ending events on your own. Be aware that some of the car events on the Tours have specific year limitations, so check those events to make sure your vehicle qualifies. You may also need to make room accommodations at the location of the events. Refer to the hotel list that you receive for all the details.
