Wanted to try ranking SWTOR class stories in order of "importance" - how relevant they are to the games overarching ongoing storyline, based on factors like how often aspects of them come up in other class stories, or elsewhere in the story, how easily they flow into the expansions, how important their companions end up being later, etc.
Jedi Knight: This one's undeniable, I think. It's basically the main plot class. Knight kills Vitiate first, deals with a lot of the more important problems on most of the planets they go to. And Kira, Scourge, and T7 all get main character status in the expansions regardless of your class.
Imperial Agent: This one is a tossup with Sith Warrior for me. I can see arguments for either, but Agent wins out imo just because of how far-reaching the Star Cabal is, and, maybe somewhat paradoxically, how relevant *other* class stories are to its story. Kaliyo and especially SCORPIO also end up being pretty important in the expansions, as well as a few other Agent companions and NPCs.
Sith Warrior: You are literally the Emperor's Wrath. The class with the closest direct connection to the Emperor, besides maybe Knight. Again its a tossup for me whether Warrior or Agent are the "A" plot for the Empire storyline, but the Wrath almost single handedly reignites the war for Darth Baras. As well as being a fairly close acquaintance of one of Vitiate's potential successors, Vowrawn. Vette also ends up being fairly important in the expansions, though not as much since Eternal Throne.
Jedi Consular: The Children of the Emperor have only recently become very, very relevant again, and we don't fully know where that plot is going, but I think thats still a compelling argument to put Consular relatively high. None of their companions have been super relevant post-class story besides Nadia on Ossus, but the Rift Alliance does end up feeling like a precursor to the Eternal Alliance, to me.
Sith Inquisitor: This may feel low for Inquisitor, given they become a Dark Council Member but honestly they don't do that much. They're somewhat responsible for the Dark Temple being Like That in the other class stories, and the Silencer Fleet is somewhat important, as well as Moff Pyron. But none of their companions are relevant anywhere else and I don't think the events of their class story are referenced anywhere except some passing name drops of Darth Thanaton. I could realistically rank them lower, but again, they ARE on the Dark Council.
Bounty Hunter: Honestly the remaining three tech classes are hard to rank. But I think BH gets a lot of credit for technically allowing Saresh to rise to power. And not for nothing, a lot of their companions have been relevant in expansions, especially Torian recently. You only get a *lot* of the earlier Mando stuff through BH, which I think also counts for something.
Trooper: I think Trooper mainly gets points for Jorgan being a main character in Fallen Empire. They do a lot of stuff that *feels* important, and General Garza, Rakton, and the Bastion come up elsewhere, but it never feels like there's much impact from the Trooper story overall.
Smuggler: I mean what can I say. I love the Smuggler storyline, and Nok Drayen *is* a member of the Star Cabal, but none of this shit mattered lol. Which is totally thematically appropriate imo, it's at least meant to be a pretty personal story with personal stakes. At least everyone can meet Akaavi and Guss in the expansions.

And while I'm at it with canon divergent... I'm gonna retcon current Dark Council members by changing them into full masked Sith except Vowrawn, Marr and Jadus who already apart of it. bc masks are fascinating and cool... at least to me.
all of the members wear masks and wield black core crystals to identify them as Dark Council member. Thus making them the successors to the Dread Masters chosen by the Emperor.

blah blah blah
letida is the daughter of a high ranking admiral, one of garza's cronies, and her immediate addition to havoc squad as she finishes whatever sort of military school the republic has doesn't help the accusations of nepotism. as it happens, she is constantly going against her mother's wishes and she wanted a normal posting. it also adds to havoc hiding their impending defection since they assume she's a spy
rethza's mom is a sith, though she's not force sensitive herself, and she's fairly neutral in the galactic war. while she follows the canon smuggler story, it's only because she takes the opportunities given to her that she ends up working for the republic so much, and she's real annoyed at darmas for hiding it when she literally wouldn't have cared
teness is dathomiri, and it took some negotiation with them to get her to the jedi - which worked out for her in the long run, at least. there's some concern among the jedi council that she might have certain "tendencies" but they're wrong and adoptive dad orgus can see it. the edit to the canon story is that orgus is her master for closer to ten years than the five minutes in game
sunias lacks empathy in a way that should make her path as a jedi more of a struggle, but she comes to the same conclusions with logic - and she doesn't entirely lack compassion. while she's not above threatening someone to get her way, she never intends to follow through. she can be, at times, somewhat callous, and she gets along admirably with fellow pragmatist lana, but they disagree on what the pragmatic path is, sometimes, even if people suggest she'd have made a good sith, too
fenire would never have been made a knight except that he was present on coruscant during the sacking, after years of failing his trials repeatedly, and helped protect younglings and let them escape. the jedi council had brought him there to try and encourage him to perhaps leave and move on from the jedi, since he struggled with the ethics and code - though not out of anger, but being overly empathetic to the point of unintentionally picking up on peoples' internal emotions and addressing them as if they were public. due to his actions and how many jedi died that day, they felt they had to give him the promotion, regardless of his actual talent
seraad is acina's estranged child, and regardless of the heights he reaches she never welcomes him back, so he allies with her rival, darth vowrawn, instead. when his lighter-leaning nature puts him at odds with his agreement with vowrawn, he offers seraad up as a pawn for acina to take and forcibly mould into a personal, tethered assassin - much like she did to malgus.
kaliir takes her mandalorian culture all too seriously, having grown up dar'manda with family that were exiled from the clans, she seizes every opportunity to prove her knowledge and expertise on the subject. while winning the great hunt caused some controversy with the invitation from mandalore to be adopted into his clan - before he knew of her dar'manda background - in the end they didn't come to regret it, as she continues to uphold the strict honour code.
cheid, siol, and idrix are all "lost chiss" which were young children kidnapped from higher ranking families in the ascendancy by chiss rebels, and taken as leverage that ultimately failed. each of them were separated from their captors under different circumstances, and both siol and idrix ended up in the republic, and cheid on neutral world tatooine, all of them with no knowledge of how they ended up there - but eventually the ascendancy takes note, and tries to kidnap them back to their families.
currently merrina, khrenn, and othi are all canon inquisitors, and merrina and othi share the dark council seat - sort of. because she's an alien and less interested in the politics, she and merrina agreed that othi holds the seat in name, but merrina handles the day to day and politics of it all, which the dark council does not approve of, but their combined power puts off any attempts to fight the arrangement. khrenn has no interest in the position at all.
tlen takes the title of emperor's wrath, but in the end she's not politically able at all, quickly being surpassed by seraad who's far more adept at working in the upper class circles and playing the political game. she's a blunt executioner, and when she loses her status during the invasion of zakuul, she finds herself without any allies, having put them all off with her brutal, tactless ways
riyk, chiira, sohlaire, and farrai as the side smuggler crew all have some degree of force sensitivity, and all but sohlaire are directly related to someone who was or is a jedi or sith. sohlaire used to be a jedi and then a sith himself, riyk's daughter is a sith, chiira's brother is a jedi, and farrai's sister is sunias, who's literally on the jedi council. they adopt lost child malkah who is also mildly force sensitive, but other than sohlaire none of them ever get any training as they're not powerful enough to warrant it

Day 2 - Cock Warming
Darth Vowrawn x Jedi Knight Reader
Tumblr media
Darth Vowrawn conducts Sith business with his beautiful empress seated on his lap, keeping him nice and warm.
Reader is AFAB and uses she/her pronouns and anatomy. Features some slight plot since it's an odd pairing (loosely based on my OC's back story but kept things non-descript as much as a I can)
Warnings; Cock Warming, Public Sex (sex in front of dark council), slight praise kink, slight objectification, Reader is consenting
************************************************
Y/n’s breath hitched softly as Vowrawn lightly toyed with one of her pert nipples, rolling the sensitive nub between his fingers as she gripped the arms of his throne to keep herself still. Her head was tipped back, eyes shut to the jealous, hungry eyes surrounding her and Vowrawn. She’d been seated on his cock for over an hour now as he spoke to his fellow sith lords regarding the affairs of the empire, and from the sound of it they wouldn’t be stopping anytime soon.
She had met Vowrawn once, before the war between republic and empire had rekindled in full. He had been kind to her: a mixture of sweet, flirtatious, and utterly charming that somehow tempered the raging fire and passion that ran so hot beneath the surface. She’d already been a Jedi knight then, old enough to have fought sith, old enough to know how dangerous his kind was, yet still so young in so many ways. Young enough to take a chance at asking for the Sith’s help. He had helped her - researching with her for days into a dark sith ritual - and at the end, she’d let him take her to his bed. He had been her first and he’d taken great pleasure in teasing her, taking her apart with clever fingers and searing lips, fucking into her for hours until she was sore, tender, yet craving more from him.
She hadn’t forgotten him; the touch of his hand against her flesh, the taste of his lips on her tongue. The years apart had not seemed to temper his yearning for her. She’d spent years in captivity, then more fighting against the eternal empire, yet the second she had seen him again it was like no time had passed. He’d taken her into his arms, kissed her senseless in front of friends and enemies alike. He was emperor, now, with Acina dead. They were enemies now, more than they’d ever been before, with the empire and republic at war again. Y/n had thrown the alliance’s lot in with the republic of course. The republic wasn’t slaughtering innocents and Y/n couldn’t condone the empire's actions; their motives.
Yet they’d found a common enemy again, Vowrawn coming to Y/n with a request for a truce, to deal with a greater threat. She’d agreed and over time, so much of which was spent in strategy meetings and in the heat of battle, they’d come together again. The alliance, despite her attempts to stay neutral, had slowly melded back into the republic, and Y/n, though no longer a Jedi except in name, had become an indispensable consultant for the resurging order. That’s when Vowrawn had offered a different sort of truce. He’d asked her to be his empress, a way to symbolically bridge the gap between Sith and Jedi. Y/n, weary from constant struggle and desperate to finally attain some semblance of peace in the galaxy, had agreed. It wasn’t much of a hardship of course. They were already committed to each other in the eyes of her friends and she couldn’t imagine having to let him go. With Y/n at his side they named to keep the empire under a tight leash.
Y/n had never imagined it would lead her to this moment, or any of the ones that had come before. She bit back a moan as Vowrawn shifted, pushing his cock deeper into her as she trembled against him. He’d worked her up to this point slowly, meticulously, pushing her further and further into the depths of depravity over the last several months until all he had to do now was to say the council would be in session and Y/n would change into one of the outfits he’d commissioned for her. It was little more than a few flowing strips of silk, shorts designed for discrete, easy access to her cunt, and a belt with enough support to hold her saber, because Vowrawn did not ever let her go around unprotected.
She felt his other hand skim up her leg, up and up until it settled lightly against her belly. He pressed gently, but firmly and she squirmed at the delicious zing of pleasure that shot through her core. His only rule for her was that she had to stay as still as she could. She wasn’t here to ride him, to show off more than what he allowed his subjects to see of her. Her only purpose, when council was in session, was to sit on his lap and warm his cock while he conducted his imperial duties. He would work himself up just enough to be able to slide into her, letting the delicate squeezing of her walls do most of the work to get him fully erect as he dictated orders to the sith on the council.
They were always seated and waiting when the other councilors arrived. Y/n’s clothing was designed to show off her curves and a healthy expanse of skin, while pooling just enough on their laps to hide the way his cock was nestled deep inside her. Y/n was sure anyone watching her knew exactly what they were hiding, but none of the sith lords were dumb enough to bring it up. Vowrawn didn’t keep his hands to himself either, driving her mad as he fondled her breasts, sucked bruises into her skin, even sometimes fingering her softly above robes - feather light against her aching clit - until she was desperate and whiny and ready to beg for release. She knew he wouldn’t give it to her though. Here, in this room, she was nothing more than a pretty decoration.
She was there to show the rest of the council that Vowrawn was their emperor, that he was the one who had tamed their greatest enemy. She was there to sit still in her delicate clothing and warm his cock and she hated how much she loved it. It was humiliating to be so brazenly on display for these powerful Sith, yet, it was empowering as well. She could see the hungry glances they gave her. How a few of the men had to fold their hands in their laps or cross their legs to conceal their arousal. The female lords were less wary, eagerly watching the way she moaned and shivered against Vowrawn, their gaze promising a sweet torture that made Y/n’s imagination run wild.
Vowrawn was so solid behind her as she continued to sit on him. She sank even lower as her muscles slowly turned to jelly. She felt light-headed, floaty. How could he possibly manage to push his cock in deeper? He was already so deep, practically rearranging her guts with his length. Stars! They were still droning on about troop deployment to hutt space. They hadn’t even started on logistics, a branch that Vowrawn still kept his claws in. Y/n whimpered, loud enough to make the current sith lord pause and Vowrawn put up a hand to silence him. The hand stroking her stomach paused too and Vowrawn leaned in so his mouth was by her ear.
“Are you okay, dear heart?” Vowrawn asked, taking in the fevered appearance of her flesh as Y/n gasped for air. She nodded, shakily, causing him to frown. “Use your words, my dear. If you need to stop I can dismiss the council for a break.” He kissed her cheek, rubbed his hand soothingly against were his cock could be felt in her belly. She whined softer as she tucked her head into his neck.
“We have a few hours still, Y/n,” Vowrawn whispered, “and I plan to keep you here the entire time, warming my cock inside your sweet cunt. I want to see just how desperate I can make you.” He grinned. “And if you're very, very good, dear heart, I’m going to fuck you on this throne when we’re done. I want this room saturated in that sweet scent that forms when you’ve been properly fucked.” He licked his lips when he felt her clench against him. “Get comfortable.”
“I’m fine, my love.” She stuttered, face flushed. “Fine, just, so full. You're so hot inside me, pressing against me so well.” She placed her hand over his, pressing his hand down again and another zing of pleasure shot through her. “Please keep going.”
“You are perfect for me, dear heart.” Vowrawn grinned, viciously as he placed a tender kiss against her temple. He slid his hand higher, began toying with her breasts again, the deep, maroon skin such a stark difference from her own. He flicked her nipple until it was stiff, continued to play with it as he encouraged the sith lord to continue. Y/n could hear his voice had lowered, gruff and thready with lust and as he droned on with his presentation she felt Vowrawn’s grip tighten, drawing out a sharp moan.

Can Cytharat come back, please?
Recently we have seen come back of several obscure characters that we met only briefly or didn't actually meet at all in the case of Krovos (Aygo doesn't count because he was there in Kuat Driver Yards, but we have him basically since the start of the Alliance storyline), which makes me wonder if despite the possibility of sentencing Cytharat to death in Stronghold One, there is a chance for his comeback in a full or casual romance? He was the only gay character at the time that a male Player Character could romance, so it'd be unfortunate (and by proxy homophobic) if his fate ended to be death or disappearance in obscurity. To this day, he is probably the only exclusively gay LI we have in the entire game, as the rest are bisexual or heterosexual by default. Him coming back could be an interesting thing lore wise as well, considering that Sith Purebloods we know of were interested in the Sith blood. Him existing as a gay man in a minority that values Sith blood and wants to restore their race to their former glory is an opportunity to show us a deeper facet and more thorough picture of Sith Pureblood culture apart from Sith Empire. How queerness can prevail and could even be celebrated if allowed to exist in a world in which technology can aid your race's reproduction, so nobody (gays, aces, lesbians) would be forced to do things they don't want to do.
(Though I guess there can't be a society without a vocal minority of older folks who would like to not see that gay shit, because it's not helping their already dying out race and Cytharat would have to at least listen to 3 granny Siths complain that he doesn't like women).
Warning, loosely related to the topic tangent up ahead!
Speaking of which, we were shown very little of Sith Purebloods as a cultural group in the game. There are comics and Wookiepedia, but it's just not the same as experiencing Purebloods practice their culture ourselves. I wonder, what in game Purebloods would think about Darth Ikoral's quest to eradicate all aliens (except Purebloods and for some unfathomable reason humans) from the ranks of the Sith. Or if they approved of Lord Abaron's quest to see only Sith with proper Sith lineage in the position of Sith Academy Overseers? This reminds me that I always thought about his quest as purely a Nazi one, so I always avoided doing it. But recently I gave it a try and realized that it's less bad than I thought. The whole quest is about restoring the old families to "their rightful place" which is a bit silly, considering that you could have a descendant of Tulak Hord that is a complete failure at doing anything getting a position of Overseer due to his ancestry alone, but when you think about it in the context of the people of color trying to desperately be included in the structures of power and culture of the Empire build on ancient Sith heritage, it becomes something completely understandable and sad. Like the fight to see yourself represented in the government kind of thing.
Lord Abaron went about it the wrong way, as he should have beyond the bloodline also prioritize the ability and expertise, but I know what he was going for, and can't really see it as something as bad as what Ikoral tried to do. (Genocide? Really? Don't you have enough of it?)
I'm giving him a benefit of the doubt because he is a minority in the Empire, not because I can't see the xenophobia he is operating on.
They're a minority, a dying out one at that, and there are not many of them left. They're still treated with respect and are allowed to be part of the privileged class (in case of the force-sensitive Purebloods at least) in the Empire build on the bones of their culture, but the game letting us kill so many of the Purebloods willy-nilly doesn't really help with preserving those fantasy people of color's future. By allowing for Cytharat, Vowrawn, Shaar etc. to just die, game inadvertently leads to their extinction which we know happened as this race doesn't exist anymore in the movie era timeline. All of them just simply died out, so I can't really see them as equivalent to the Aryan race, a race that never truly existed, that was just an invention of the Nazis for the sole excuse to justify the genocide committed on the Jewish population.
And as you probably can guess, I don't care about movie era. I want my Cytharat baby back, and I want him to be allowed to live as a gay man in a Galaxy Far Far away with no repercussions whatsoever.
Though if he comes back I will probably have to start campaigning for the devs to bring back the polyamorous flags (I mean the previous system when you could set as many romance flags as you wanted) and just simply give us a wheel choice in each cutscene which NPC we want to see in it (and maybe include repetition of the cutscene if they're at it, because damn I need it sometimes) or allow all of them to just come at the player one after another in a hilarious attempt to remind us of certain things, because otherwise I will have to choose between Theron and Cytharat and I really don't want to have to do it.

usually I think yes but like. they know about 1-3 of the Councilors. and maybe a Sith who’s at the top of their personal command chain. basically average “who is in the government?” levels of knowledge, including there being people who are absolute weird nerds about Sith politics who can name all the Councilors and their second-in-commands and follow tabloids about them and everyone else is just. no. why. yes half the department has a crush on Darth Marr despite having no kriffing idea what’s under the mask but we’re not like THAT about it,
Does the average citizen know who the members of the Dark Council are? Like could a random person name a single Dark Lord?
#i think councilors are generally public figures. whether they're public figures anyone *cares* about varies#the exceptions are some intelligence councilors and most mysteries councilors#i feel like intelligence councilors are slightly more prone to having a terrifying masked sith identity and like#being some random anonymous lord when they take off the clothes#than to no one knowing who the intelligence councilor is at all#and mysteries councilors don't deal with any of the normal people parts of the empire at all#so they *are* prone to just. Not Existing in any way that can be tracked. the rest of the council knows and that's enough#marr is a war-hero-flavor celebrity. *everyone* knows who he is#most people know who vowrawn is because he is full of flashy public persona but most logistics councilors are probably ??? to the public#after that. you probably know who the councilor whose sphere controls your ministry is#scientific and academic councilors largely get forgotten about unless they do interesting public things#the kaggath made a lot of people suddenly way more interested in what knowledge was doing. usually what knowledge is doing is weird research#then suddenly it was 'this guy took over knowledge and immediately challenged a random lord to an incredibly public duel in a war zone.'#*that* was interesting#there was betting#whether the imperial public cares all that much about the inquisitor afterwards would depend on What They Are Like i would think#assuming all expansions are done however they're definitely more active and involved outside their sphere than average for knowledge#a lot of them have. loud. personalities too#so i think the average inquisitor tips more towards 'interesting politician we hear about a lot'#than 'governmental head of something the average citizen doesn't care about'#ahene… has a less *loud* personality than the average inquisitor but she has a lot of stage presence and a sense of public responsibility#she has a decent amount of name recognition as a councilor. doesn't get recognized on the street without khem and her Important Sith Clothes#she is a very average-looking person and doesn't have an Aura Of Scary#and she code-switches very well#so she can effectively go incognito even without doing 'don't notice me' stealth things#she doesn't do it *often* because it's largely a bad idea but sometimes it's the only way she can. not crack#because she is too visible and too invisible at the same time#and her secret vice is that she still wants to feel free.#io's replies#swtor worldbuilding

walks back into your askbox with an armful of sith lore . hi
HELLO THERE.
So much Sith lore, so little time. Where to start... maybe probably... languages?
I had to put fic writing on pause because like a clown on wax wings I decided let's make up some Sith kinship terms based on the system of Chinese kinship terms for Vowrawn and his family to use among each other.
Which made sense in my brain at the time since bloodlines and strict social stratas make up the backbone of Sith pureblood culture. Plus I'm already familiar with Chinese kinship terms being Chinese-American myself so the framework was there.
Filling it up with Sithy words, however... woof. I've been tearing up the wookieepedia glossary on Sith languages and piecing syllables together that look and sound "right" in my head. Ex:
Nyâsh ("Big, much, many") + kaar ("Keeper") = Nyâkaar (big/older sibling?)
I'm still mulling over ways to signify a gendered term of address so, in this instance, I can make it clear that Darth Haskrai is calling Vowrawn "older brother" because Haskrai absolutely does not address Vowrawn by his personal name. Only Vowrawn's elders (few as there are still living) and Marr are allowed to call him Khomir.
Hell, I've been debating going back to edit For the Present to use the Sith kinship terms I made so far instead of the Basic "brother", "aunt", and "uncle"... but I don't think I will. I am just going to roll with the idea that Vowrawn's family uses Basic kinship terms for Marr's benefit and the events of that fic are the exception, not the rule.
dhsad I am making my life unnecessarily hard and for what??

Tumblr media
late night writing, not proofread bc that’s the point of wip lmao. anyways, this scene was bugging me for a while.
---
The two Wraths remained on the top floor away from the commotion as they observed the ball party couple of levels below. Neither of them felt like in the mood to celebrate the treaty success in the aftermaths of Coruscant’s sacking and the Jedi Order’s downfall.
“This doesn’t sit right with me.” Acina mused, her green eyes still glued upon the scene as the two of them were left alone to talk privately, “This could had been prevented if it wasn’t for Malgus’ interference.”
Kritanta was leaning against the column watching on with a disinterested expression, “You’re not the only one peeved about this.” He heaved a weary sigh before turning to face the dark-haired kiffar, “At least we’ll know our girls are safe and sound and not in the Emperor’s clutches.”
Acina narrowed her eyes at the pureblood, “Don’t you mean Jazzeira? It’s a pity about her amnesia, how’s Kavi taken the news?”
“Not well, I’m afraid. We just hoped we made the right decision to leave her in the Jedi’s care.” Kritanta admitted, recalling his husband’s anguish upon finding out.
“You’re certain they’ll heal her mind? Like they did to your mother?” the kiffar questioned.
Kritanta paused to think for the moment. Revan was nearly killed by Darth Malak but survived with an amnesia. If anyone could heal their mind, it’ll be the Jedi healers than the Sith--he was distrustful of Sith healers, who were willing to take advantage of a young teenager with missing memories should he and Vowrawn wanted her back home desperately.
“I’m certain they will.” the pureblood answered before quickly changing the subject, “But I’m sure you’re more worried about your own...”
“My own? Like who?”
“Valeriya.”
Acina was silent. Kritanta predicted her reaction coming--the way she stiffened upon hearing the name and closed her eyes with an exasperated sigh.
“Mm, thought so.” Kritanta spoke up after a pregnant pause, “Not only did she carried the same name, she also bares a striking resemblance to you and Bastila. Don’t think for the moment I don’t know anything--you disappeared for a couple of months, the arranged trips to Alderaan...”
There’s no denying it, Acina thought quietly, she knew the truth would come out eventually.
“She was supposed to be on Alderaan where she’ll be safer.” Acina explained her reason, “I wanted to give her a better life away from the Empire.”
“Except the Jedi discovered her existence.” Kritanta pointed out.
Acina turned to face the pureblood with a scowl, “That was hardly my plan, brother. All I did was to give her up for adoption to a family that wanted her.”
“But, you wouldn’t give her away if there was a reason,” the pureblood hummed under his breath and leaned away from the column, “Unless. You’re hiding her from someone other than the Emperor?”
Acina went silent again--she avoided the pureblood’s gaze as her eyes watched the commotion below. Kritanta had to get to the bottom of this truth. He needed to know, he needed to be aware who else is he protecting, not only his daughter but his niece, from.
“Alright, sister, I want answers.” Kritanta demanded, “Who’s the father?”
Again, Acina remained quiet.
Kritanta noticed the kiffar’s faraway look within her green eyes and decided to follow her gaze. He searced for her focus on the particular crowd and spotted one of the Dark Councillors amongst the group--pale, dark haired, middle aged human with a beard--glanced up to where the Wraths for a minute, catching the glimpse of Acina before being pulled away by his wife for the duration of the conversation.
Kritanta heard Acina’s somber sigh.
“Oh, don’t tell me...” Kritanta groaned upon realisation after putting two and two together, “Mortis’ the father, isn’t he?”
Acina staring after Mortis, rather pitifully, within the crowd, “He is.”
Kritanta exhaled sharply, “And you do realise that he’s married to Darth Alluress?”
“Yes.” Acina repeated.
“And you also do realise she’s one of the Emperor’s Heirs?”
“No need to remind me, brother.”
Kritanta pinched the bridge of his nose, letting out a loud perplexed sigh. He looked like he really needed a drink after this.
“You’re in deep, fucking shit, sister.” Kritanta said with a warning tone.
“Thanks for the vote of confidence, brother.”

How would Jazz's life have gone if she'd been raised in the Empire with her family?
I saw your ask the other day and I said "I will reply to this!!!" and two days later, I forgot to get onto this. whoops.
This is a good question.
Had Jazz not been abducted and/or had amnesia. She would not be called Jazz.... she would had been called Jesseira, which is her birthname. Life would had been the same for her except this time, she wouldn't have Tau in her life growing up. She would had been shunned out by Sith students due to her disability, make it difficult for her to adjust into the society lifestyle in the Academy and isolated herself. In other words, she grew up with no friends in the Academy. Going home was her only happy and safe place for Jazz to get away from the reality in the comfort of her family. She kept to herself, much like her twin sister, and doesn't want to worry her parents, especially Vowrawn. Vowrawn had thought about taking her on as an apprentice, but Lord Zash had expressed interest in Jazz due to a mutual preference for ruins and ancient knowledge that they enjoyed.
She gets on well with Lord Zash much to Overseer Harkun's displeasure. (lol hi Ffon). Not to mention Zash spent her spare time learning Sign Language to communicate with Jazz.
Jazz hated animal cruelty and spent her teenage years rescuing and saving Tuk'ata from experiments. She took one puppy home, much to Vowrawn's dismay over Jazz causing much troubles for the Sith scientists and constantly begging him to let her keep the tuk'ata.
"Alright, Jesseira, but that puppy is your responsibilty." Vowrawn told Jazz.
Kritanta said he was proud of Jazz for stopping the experiements on tuk'ata and Vowrawn chimed in with "don't encourage her, Sevket! She could've gotten herself into much bigger trouble."
Vowrawn eventually grows onto the Tuk'ata and decided to bring a rescued pack home with Jazz's help. A family isn't complete without them. Good thing they resided in a rural area away from neighbours.
Jazz is still close to her family, there was no favouritism in play. Vowrawn and Kritanta raised their daughters into young, matured women. They treated them equally with familial love.
Oh and, had she been raised in the Empire... she would be Aris' Maid of Honour at the wedding.
I am much of a Jazz x Tau shipper (and Jazz prefers women), I just can't see her with anyone else but Tau. And no, definitely not Lachris. :P I guess she would be forever alone in the Empire, or if she didn't had amnesia and rescued during Coruscant's Sacking, Tau and Blizz would had went with her by their choice.

SWTOR: Among the missing
In writing that recent little fanfic where Ikina is listing off some of the people who vanished when the Eternal Empire conquered botht he Republic and Empire, and subjugated most of the galaxy, it got me to thinking...
...yeah, there were a lot.
All eight classes canonically went missing. It's mentioned in some of the bios and comments from the companions you meet in KOTFE, both main story and Alliance Alerts. That's whoever your Outlander is, plus seven others. So:
1. The Jedi Order's Battlemaster
2. The Barsenthor of the Jedi Order
3. The CO of Havoc Squad/Republic army major
4. The smuggler, well...they could be the leader of a pirate empire and owner/controller of Port Nowhere at this point so that's pretty huge.
5. The Empire's Wrath
6. A Dark Councilor
7. The Commander associated with Imperial Intelligence
8. The winner of the Great Hunt
Then you have all the Jedi and Sith notables and officers who are documented to have vanished, either at the hands of their faction's infighting OR the Eternal Empire, OR their own flight to find safety or do their own thing, and are able to conceal themselves well enough not to be found:
9. Satele Shan
10. Darth Marr
11. Darth Mortis
12. Darth Ravage
13. Well, nobody else from that Dark Council comes back except Acina and Vowrawn.
14. Gnost-Dural, who we know also takes several other Jedi into hiding, like Nadia Grell, Jaesa Willsaam (LS) and Tau Idair
15. Mandalore
16. Raina Temple
17. Lord Scourge
18. Kira Carsen
19. Felix Iresso
20. Lana Beniko - Minister of Sith Intelligence (we're told she's "on the run")
21. Quinn, who is an officer (hasn't vanished, but sent to jail)
22. Moff Pyron (at least for a time)
23. Ashara Zavros
And even before the start of KOTFE there had been a lot of recent shakeups with galactic leaders:
1. Korriban and Tython and the academies being very badly damaged by the Revanite-fueled attacks
2. Several members of the Dark Council, including Malgus, Arkous, Vengean, Decimus, Hadra, Baras and Thanaton dying (or "dying" in that one case)
3. The Jedi Council losing numerous people as well, including Kaedan on Ilum.
4. The Children of the Emperor being discovered and ended, or going into hiding - and they were all in positions of authority
5. The Supreme Chancellor of the Republic being deposed or killed
6. The Jedi Battlemaster being killed
7. The Emperor's Wrath (Scourge) defecting
8. The Emperor of the Sith Empire doing the "whoops, going to kill you all" thing and the Empire doing its "you are no longer our Emperor" thing
9. ZIOST
10. The Revanites depleting both sides - Jedi, Sith and officers all got on board with them
We're told by Veeroa Denz that on Nar Shaddaa, the Eternal Empire routinely makes people from all factions disappear. We could assume that happens with other planets with Star Fortresses, too. We're also told that most Jedi have gone into hiding. Both the Sith and Jedi lose considerable numbers in the attacks and subsequent war. There are the planets we know Arcann and Vaylin ordered destroyed, and then other accounts of more widespread destruction.
So...by all accounts...literally almost all the leaders and people who helped protect or defend their factions went away, the support services that sustained them (like the Jedi and Dark Councils and the Jedi and Sith Academies) were either destroyed or severely decimated.
Yikes.
Seeing it all written out is more of a yikes.

Traditionalist Tsis
[NB: hc/worldbuilding. written while low on words.]
dark jedi claimed the word ‘sith’ for their name when in language it was a descriptor of something being perfect or superior. what is name for own species, separate from new order made by dark jedi? certainly not sith. is tsis. called “sith pureblood,” “red sith,” etc by other people, but call themselves “tsis”.
traditionalist tsis are tsis who reject some or all assimilation into what has become “sith” in empire directed largely by humans and with many (dark)jedi influences (such as lightsabers and the sith code being written to reflect the jedi code). traditionalist tsis are people who want who they are and culture to reflect themselves, not jedi or people who take over their planets and make modern empire.
traditionalist tsis try to keep traditions had before dark jedi came, although it is very hard because much knowledge lost (there is much reconstructionism in traditionalist tsis culture and ways) and, of course, rejecting the sith way is heresy and treason and illegal; not just you but your family penalized (with death, disgrace, etc) if you caught - so don’t get caught.
modern tsis all have some human dna. assimilation is usually assumed to be complete except  some ~aesthetics~. traditionalists are a mostly secretive faction for survival’s sake, although they know they will not last forever. they are just here to last long as can.
the most visible traditionalist tsis is darth vowrawn, who servant two describes as being the weight the political pendulum swings from. praven also is traditionalist tsis - can see from how he talks about honour and rejects sith ways of cruelty while talking about jedi wanting his kind extinct, and how he will not let that happen. when he becomes jedi, he stops being sith but does not stops being tsis.. or traditionalist tsis, to an extent.
tsis languages: 3. old tsis (partially lost and reconstructed), outsider tsis (other imperials and sith can hear it and some understand and speak it, seen as fancy/educated language to know, like latin), and insider tsis (closed language, only tsis permitted, very secret). assimilationist tsis - tsis who not traditionalist, assimilationist is default - often not speak insider tsis.
traditionalist practice - Qo, meaning way - puts focus on family rather than order/society/empire, and uses ritual and sorcery rather than lightsaber. has a love/hate relationship with the imperial reclamation service - often call tomb-robbers (accurately) and kill reclamation service personnel (particularly ones trespassing on ancient tsis sites).. but also value how dig up things from forgotten/lost past of tsis. however, traditionalists want keep these thing from contemporary sith/empire, because empire would claim for selves like they have done everything else.

Small shops in Kaas City
Tumblr media
Dromund Kaas offers a wide selection of small shops and stores for all to enjoy. Perhaps you are looking for a memorable gift for a loved one back home or some memorabilia for yourself to remember your visit by. In that case, here are a few places to check out!
Olitiilia
Dromund Kaas houses many talent artists and creators, not all who can have their own physical stores. One can find many of them online, but if you want to see that talent in person, visiting Olitiilia is a wonderful idea.
Gleif’inotha’riza is an up-and-coming glass artist who’s installation After the Frost has been delighting people in the Spilla Glass Art Gallery. Now, for the first time, their works are available to the larger public. Olitiilia sells Finothar’s work from glasses and vases to candelabrum and ornaments while taking the inspiration from the ferocity of the Csillan fauna and almost delicate contrast of the flora. From life like pieces to the more interpretational ones, none of Finothar’s work will leave you cold.
Olitiilia also sells artificial artisanal flowers from B&M Sûkur. They have used traditional techniques to make their flowers from the finest of fabrics for centuries. Vibrant colours and almost life like textures are things B&M Sûkur has specialised in. These flowers when bought in a bouquet, can be a great reminder of the lush flora on Dromund Kaas to those living far from the Capital of our great Empire. Singular flowers on the other hand can be given to loved ones protecting our homeland on the front as a reminder of all the things worth fighting for.
Tapio Jewellry is known for its sleek and modern take on our history and culture. They have recently gained prominence by designing the necklace Darth fwore to the Thousand Stars Gala as well as releasing a jewellery line based on the Spires of Victory for the fifteenth anniversary of the Sacking of Coruscant. Tapio Jewellry is planning on opening their own shop in the next year but until then Olitiilia is the only place to find them.
Fragrance of Aethiopica
Fragrance of Aethiopica can’t help but you draw you in along the busy Hord Avenue with its elegant exterior and promises of an indoor garden. Not something one expects to run into a perfume shop, but Fragrance of Aethiopica isn’t just any old perfume shop. Known for its exquisite scents mixed right at the shop (yes, the prices do match) with even a more selective clientele (if the rumours are to be believed even Darth Vowrawn is among them).
The store pulls you right in with its exquisite glass bottles. Shaped like graceful purple Aethiopica, dark blue Nera and fresh red Barberry, hiding inside luxurious fragrances of those flowers. The deeper tones are made with Kaasian sylvestra bark to add depth to the profile.
For those with the status, and the means, a visit is a must. Fragrance of Aethiopica always offers five bottled perfumes that change based on seasons with twenty classics. If you stay longer in Kaas City, you can commission a scent just for you. Fragrance of Aethiopica is especially popular around holiday seasons so those wishing for something special, contacting the store early is a must. And for the few lucky ones exceptions are always made.
Those of us not so lucky can enjoy sitting in the square under the shaded cover of trees and watching people come and go. The bravest might go to the store to see what the fuzz is all about. A peek can’t hurt, after all, you can always try and see if you like any of the perfumes even if you won’t buy any. After all, samples are free. Or just to see the hanging garden in the indoor courtyard looking just as if it was outdoors. And as a bonus, no rain.
Chilaz Tea
Kaas City is buzzing with many excellent tea shops, but Chilaz Tea is outright excelling in its selection and offered services. Founded 184 years ago, Chilaz is among the oldest and well known tea shops that’s sure to offer an interesting experience to everyone. They offer a well curated selection of teas from all over the Empire.
In addition to those, Chilaz offers five teas grown, dried, and seasoned in the backroom of the store. These five teas switch every season, the crowning jewel of Chilaz’s tea offerings. The ever popular lumella seasoned Gren is a hit around every Equinox with its subtle sweetness and tanginess.
Chilaz also organises tea tastings. You can reserve your spot on any of the public tastings or even get a private one. The tasting comes with five teas personally selected by the owner and guided through by a tea-expert. Along with the tasting, you learn more about the teas being served as well as the correct way of brewing them.
If the tea tasting doesn’t alone squelch your thirst for tea related knowledge, Chilaz also has courses in everything tea related. From how to make your own tea to brewing it to perfection and history of tea in the Empire.
Chilaz is a must visit for any tea lover visiting Kaas City!
Emporium of Wonders
Found in the crook of the Ragnos Plaza in the Old City, Emporium of Wonders is a quaint toy and puzzle store. Filled to the prim with different wooden puzzles and toys, there’s something for everyone.
For those wishing to test their mastery of the Force one can find sealed glass objects filled with miniature planets, cities, to city quarters from around the Empire meant to be assembled using the Force. There are also multiple famous buildings from around the Kaas City from the Citadel to the Opera House.
For those looking for an intermediate puzzles there are the traditional ships in bottles from the Imperial flagships to interceptors. These can be either assembled through the Force or by hand depending on if one picks a sealed or an open bottle.
If miniature building through the Force does not catch your interest, you can find multiple puzzles encased in glass. These puzzles are also available outside of glass for Imperials wishing to test their wits.
The most popular of Emporium of Wonders’s offerings is a small glass sphere with pieces of a round wooden puzzle. When pieced together, one reveals a line of carved Tuk’atas with the outlines painted in gold against beautiful dark wood. Spinning the puzzle through the Force makes it seem like the Tuk’ata are running across the sphere. It’s the perfect gift for a young Sith just starting with the Force. For more challenge one can also pick up the version with more pieces and complicated patterns.

you know what.
I'm decided to headcanon that Jadus learnt sign languages at a young age, hoping to communicate with either their mom or someone close to them due to the person is deaf/hard of hearing.
This led to them to have a preference over the mask design as the Emperor's Heir, the mask itself must cover their full face except their lip and chin exposed. Which is the specific reason for deaf/hard of hearing taught to lipread.
Jadus was aware that Ania lipread, so the high chances that Jadus dropped their Dark Councillor attire for their Vitali royalty attire during the first meeting.
I had an idea that that only a few people knew of Jadus' Emperor Heir identity. Keeper and Marr to start with, also Kritanta and Vowrawn too, which pave the way for Ania was forewarned about Jadus and knew they're one of Tenebrae's children.

Do you have any idea how the Sith Warrior could in little more than 2 years gain enough power and skill to defeat Darth Baras, a man with perhaps decades of experiance and study? My first thought is to say that they're just naturally strong and talented in The Force, but that seems like lazy Deus Ex Machina crud.
Tumblr media
What a great question! (Sorry it took me awhile to get to it.)
Here's the deal - because of exceptional guys like Vitiate and Palpatine, a lot of people take it as a given that Force-users in general and Sith in particular get more powerful with age.
They don't. Most of them fade with age. Especially for most Sith, because of the effect of dark-side degradation on their bodies. Now Marr might be another outlier (he's nearly 70) and maybe - maybe - Vowrawn as well. But the rest of the Dark Council has an absolutely dreadful survival rate.
Which brings us to Baras.
Quite frankly, I think he's a paper tiger. Or paper rancor, if you prefer.
Who do we actually see Baras beat? He himself admits that Nomen Karr beat him years ago. (The SW surpasses Karr by the end of Chapter One.) He lost to Wyellett and Xerender and later Satele. By the class story, everyone talks about how 'powerful' and 'influential' Baras is, but he's still playing second fiddle to Darth Vengean rather than taking a place on the Dark Council himself. He relies on his apprentice to do the job. Like every other time. So why isn't he already dead?
Well - half of it i think is his rep. The other half i think is all those buffs he setup for himself. Think about it - he had that Entity bound on Corellia that was supposedly buffing him. Also - no one has probably seen him in a real fight in years.
So yeah - to me, it makes perfect sense that some young up-and-comer who rolled 6-6-6 on the midichlorian count could take him down given proper incentive.
And it doesn't vary that much from the other classes. Over and over again, top Jedi and Sith fall to the OCs. Look at the Jedi Knight. At the end of Act 1, they take down Angral, who was one of Baras' contemporaries in power and rank. At the end of Act 2, they are a match for Scourge, who has spent 300 years learning to kill people. And at the end of Act 3, they take down a (somewhat weakened) Vitiate, himself.
So yeah - i'm totally cool with Baras going down like a punk.

For the past/present/future asks - past 6, present 14, future 2 for Jaaide?
past 6. Did the location they grew up in affect them significantly? Do they still go there?
To an extent? She's born and raised Kaas City, parents were both in the Imperial military, and that definitely affected her education opportunities, and was part of what got her noticed and selected for Intelligence work. Also gave prompt access to superior medical services after the speeder crash responsible for all her scars + hearing loss. It would definitely have been worse if she were on another planet, or even a different city on Dromund Kaas.
She now only goes there when she has to for Alliance business; her parents were both killed by the Eternal Fleet bombardment after Vaylin died, so there's not really anything there for her except painful memories and increased odds of running into someone who might figure out she's a double agent.
present 14. What matters most to them right now?
Theron and the Alliance, in that order, and she refuses to feel guilty for that. (one she asked for, the other she didn't /cough)
future 2. Are they content with their future situation? Is there anything they would change?
Well. Depends. If we're talking her actual game where she's currently, yet again, playing deep cover double agent for the Republic for who knows how franging long, she is not content. She's so tired of being a double agent. Exhausted from playing pretend. She hates this. She's been doing it for EIGHTEEN KRIFFING YEARS, JONAS JUST LET HER DEFECT ALREADY. she's begging. She's one bad day away from comming Vowrawn, telling him she's out, and taking the Alliance independent. Maybe handing it over to Lana, taking Theron with her, and peacing out from that, too if it's a bad enough day. Girl is done. (honestly, if you had the option, she'd have said "hah, no, been there done that, never again." to playing double agent in Jedi Under Siege, and been doing the Pub side stuff in that and everything following. I'm still salty about her having to fight Gnost-Dural ngl)
But I have considered slotting her in as an "Alliance Asset" in one of my other canons, probably Tragen's(can't be Vica's lol), who joins during KotFE, still winds up with Theron bc she's in Intelligence work so she'd be working with him etc, but doesn't have to do all the double agent bs for the third time in her life. In that case, she'd probably be pretty happy with how things look for her at this point.
