After the disappearance and revealed death of two residents, panic and paranoia has spread throughout the city between supernatural and humans alike. The OEA insist that these disappearances aren’t their responsibility; the blame posing an outrage for the head of the Nola division, Delainey Moore. In recent days, she has taken her own vision public, revealing her intention to maintain some degree of peace between the supernatural and the OEA. Ms. Moore has devised a department, focusing solely on the destruction of malevolent supernatural beings only. In order to quell panic and to prove that her intentions are genuine, the OEA insist that the voices of the supernatural will be heard, heading another department that specialises in supernatural liaisons: led by Klaus. As for the Potentia coven, a rat was discovered amongst them, one who was feeding intel to the OEA. This caused for the coven to become fractured, consequently turning on one another and overthrowing their leader. In order to protect and maintain her vision, it will also become mandatory that ALL business will be asking for identification and that identification will reveal species. Schools will also be reopened, with OEA-approved curriculum. Together, the OEA and the Mikaelsons have called a truce to work towards a better future for all citizens. Something they hope to see around the world, should New Orleans succeed. With funding from the OEA, scientists have been working on the creation of synthetic blood for vampires, as well as replicating a sample of Salvatore blood which holds the cure. The plans for the city and the union between citizens and the OEA, will be unveiled at a masquerade ball, that will be held by the Mikaelsons at the compound. The entire city is to be involved, as all sides work towards a greater future for all. Similarly, at the ball it will be revealed who is to head the supernatural councils, again with a better future in mind

Good afternoon everyone! we want to start off my saying a huge thank you to everybody who has made our little group possible, we're coming up for our eight month of activity which is just insane!!! With that, as you can tell from above, we're planning on shaking up our main storyline, so fasten your seatbelts because we have a lot planned! But we want to hear from you too! We have the option of doing a time jump to some time in the future. With a time jump, we would allow everyone to come up with a plan of what their characters have been up to since we saw them last (only major plot points must be run through the main: pregnancies, death, etc.) We also have the option of staying on the same timeline and just adding the little switch up! PLEASE FILL OUT THIS POLL AND LET US KNOW WHAT YOU’D LIKE TO SEE. In light of this, we're going to be adding some extra goodies to some of our pages and the main itself, to give everything a fresh feel to it as we embark on this next chapter. Whilst the main is undergoing some changes, activity checks will be temporarily frozen, but current threads CAN be continued on the dash. We've taken a look at yours answers to the poll and the consensus is.....

over the next week or so, you can start to come up with plans of what your characters have been up to for the past year! you can update your bio and repost, or make a separate post of their plot updates.

for now, you can continue threads from this current timeline as we work out the new main updates. the new timeline will begin with an event. we will continue posting updates as we have them so keep an eye on the main!

We are loving all of the interactions on the dash with our newest phase of the event. We’ve noticed that there are a lot of closed starters being posted. While we love direct threads with specific characters, we need to remember that open starters are the key to keeping our group inclusive. It’s how to gain new connections that you may not otherwise find. It keeps everyone engaged. There are open starters that have yet to be replied to and others that have very few replies. With a group of 30+ characters, this shouldn’t be the case. Especially since the dash has been moving pretty consistently all day. Please remember that we do have a rule that you must reply to open starters before posting your own for each character you’re posting starters for. This includes closed starters. We don’t want to put a stop or a rule around closed starters, but we will have to if we continue to see a problem with mass amounts of closed starters while opens are being looked over.

✧ ━ event 001 : a violent night ━ ✧

With the holidays rapidly approaching, our residents of New Orleans are invited to attend the annual city light switch on, with the festivities in full swing and holiday cheer in the air, what could possibly go wrong?

The streets are aligned with attendees, celebrating and spreading their holiday joy, but they remain oblivious to the chaos sure to follow, as the sacrificed inhabitants fight to escape the prison world that contains them. The performance of their complicated spell upon consecrated land on the night of a lunar eclipse, meant that the effects were far graver than anybody could expect. Instead of simply freeing themselves from the prison world, a vortex tore through the spiritual dimensions, freeing those who had long since found peace inside.

As the dead begin to return alongside those who had been sacrificed by our conniving witches, the disturbance comes to its drastic pinnacle as a storm like no other rages through New Orleans, disrupting the festivities with unwelcome force. All attendees are urged to seek a place of sanctuary as the severity of the storm has temporarily destroyed the city's power, taking with it the illumination of the festival lights and plunging the city into darkness.

OOC information: the event will begin now and run through tuesday, december 12. and with that we are officially open for interactions, so feel free to begin posting some starters and most importantly, have fun!
