Schedules can demand that we keep moving without really Seeing. Being. Or Breathing. Ourselves or even with those we share this ground with. Layer on the amount of perceptions, judgements, needs and boundaries and there really is no way we are going to radically move beyond our self-protection and isolation. Sometimes it’s fear. Sometimes it’s just plain negligence or in-opportunity. We just don’t have it for whatever reason. Having been touched and held by the gaze of so many hearts, I can say with authority, we need it. This oasis of being seen. It is grounding. It is partaking. It is freeing. There is healing in those eyes. And gravity in the life of one standing in front of you helping you see. This practice reminds me of Jesus. And how people felt His Healing… Soul Stare. And how we can be like Him, and heal ourselves and others by looking with the eyes of the heart.
