agreed! I mean- I get that people really want their favorite group to win (’cause same, tbz let’s gooo) but if you use strategies like this, is it really winning? for some of the groups the show might be quite a big deal though, to get more fans in general or specifically more korean fans (ateez let’s gooo). that’s what makes the unfairness so frustrating. if winning only meant whoop you get a trophy and a pat on the back, I wouldn’t have cared at all, but to some of the groups winning does make a difference. but alright, nothing I can do so worrying about it won’t make it better for anyone.

pairing. rosé x (f) reader  + johnny ( nct ) word count. 7k warning. a little angst; jealousy ( a/n ). sorry for the mini hiatus! work has been rather mental and i’m glad to finally have the time to write again! thank you for your patience  ♡

There was an after-party to the Mnet Asian Music Awards ( MAMA ) which Rosé had brought you along for. You were not allowed into the actual ceremony with Rosé, but you were allowed into the crowd, to watch the performances. 

However, they allowed for you to join Rosé in the after-party, which consisted of the other members of BLACKPINK, and many other k-pop groups who were either nominated or had won awards that night.

You felt insignificant, compared to all the idols surrounding you. Rosé kept hold of your hand, ensuring you were beside her at all times. She had her stylist do your hair and makeup whichever way you wanted it, so you felt really special on that night alongside her, with a pretty dress she had let you wear from her closet.

The dress was pretty, and red which matched the red of your lipstick. You felt like you truly matched her level of maturity which she held in her outward appearance. 

The after-party had been going on for an hour or so when Lisa came up behind Rosé and touched her arm on the side you were not on, whispering into her ear. From what you were able to pick up on, it was something concerning food.

“Lisa- you’re so bad! Okay, uh...” she turned to you. “If I leave you for literally two seconds, I’ll bring you chicken that she just ordered at the back door.” A grin is wide on her face, and Lisa grins to you from the side. 

“Okay, I’ll be fine here.” you smile to Rosé. She leans in and presses a kiss to your cheek, before walking away from you with Lisa, arm-in-arm, toward the back of the building.

You roll your eyes as you watch them leave together, and you had wedged yourself into a corner, out of anyone’s path and keeping away from any attention. 

You didn’t realise you had held someone’s from the moment you walked in through the doors. 

“Hey,” you heard. You were too busy staring at your cute shoes to notice that a man had come up to you, smiling kindly to you as he offers you a drink. You take it, because you’re parched.

“I’m Johnny. Are you part of a rookie group, or something?” he asks, curiosity thick in his tone. He has a pretty face, and from how he is dressed and presented altogether, you assume that he is from a K-Pop group, like Rosé.

“No.” you smile, somewhat flattered by his suggestion of you having the talent to be a part to a K-Pop group. He remains smiling kindly to you.

“I’m surprised... you’d definitely be the visual. If you don’t mind me saying this... I find you to be quite beautiful.” 

“Only quite?” you raise your eyebrow to him. You see no harm in the slight banter between you and Johnny.

You didn’t realise that Rosé had returned with Lisa.

“Sorry... very.” Johnny corrects himself, and you were going to comment on his hair until your hand is taken in a familiar one. Rosé stares down Johnny coldly, who then looks to her in confusion as she grasps on tightly to your hand.

“Thanks for attempting to compliment my girlfriend, Johnny, but I can do it far better.”

You blush, and mouth ‘sorry’ to Johnny as you are dragged away behind Rosé. Lisa has the chicken order in her arms. You laugh, and Rosé immediately turns to stare at you as you both find a quiet place in the party, to talk.

“What’s so funny? You find flirting with another person funny?” she demands, Her expression hard as she watches you, almost looking for something in your face. It’s quite intimidating.

“Uh... no? I wasn’t-”

“Cut the bullshit. You were flirting with him, and I saw you. I watched you gaze up to him like he was fucking prince charming, or something! Am I not enough or something?” she asks, her voice faltering from its confidence.

“Wha...” you start, and then realise that she’s jealous. Jealous of... you and Johnny? You squeeze her hand tight, and she pulls it from your grasp, folding her arms.

“Chaeng... I only love you. Seriously, he just complimented me.” you say, and she sighs, looking to the ground.

“I trust you, I just... can’t trust anyone else.”

You grin at her, and her eyes meet yours with confusion.

“What?” she demands again. 

“You’re hot when you’re jealous.”
