Sooooo I got some more headcanons. This time about the @valrayne-faeu by @antlered-knight and @owl-bones and how their characters write. I used the first two names I found for each of them. (Please ignore that I misspelled Nightmare at the top)

In case you can't read my scrabblings, a transcript and some FunFacts are under the cut.

Nightmare - Juliet: He's a king, I think he writes a lot.

Cross - Mistral: As far as I'm aware, he's a soldier/guard, and I'm confident he had to learn how to write in the military.

Horror - Demian: Same as Cross =) I think he's older then the others (Aside the kings & Ink/Error) so he's probably written more than them and developed a "neater" handwriting.

Killer - Calson 540 Italic: He taught himself how to write so he could hang up flyers before his 'business' got popular, so he always had a very fine & neat handwriting.

Dust -  Nevison Casual: I think he learned how to write in the military too. Him being an archer didnt grant him a neat handwriting, because I think he kept his fingers really stiff when hunting/fighting.

Soul -  My own handwriting: She learned how to write on a farm to keep track of the crops/finances, and her writing became neater when she began studying dragons.

Dream - Cancellaresca Script: Same as Nightmare <3.

Blue - Park Avenue: No explanation. I just think it fits him.

Ink - Murray Hill Bold: He probably writes like he draws; long, thin strokes with a brush and not a pen.

Error - Van Dijk: He lives in  the faewilds, he probably doesn't write much. I headcanon he struggles with it, especially the uppercase letters.

Funfacts: I HATE the font for Dream with a burning passion of a 1000 suns. Why. Why did I choose the font with the most INTRICATE LETTERS for the one with the (objectively) WEIRDEST NAME.

I checked and Horror is INDEED, like, 100 years older than the others.

I headcanon Killer started out as a very lowlife criminal, who hung up flyers for his assassination business. Once he was tasked to kill a person in Nightmares castle, and he almost did. Then he was recruited by Nightmare. (Also I think it fits his reputation as a Casanova in the fandom)

@valrayne-faeu I gots me a headcanon about Fae!Error

Fae!Error, aspect of Chaos, used to be Fae!Geno, aspect of Order. Much like with Sheogorath and Jyggalag from the Elder Scrolls series, the powerful curse-like machinations of the courtiers that pushed Dream and Nightmare to their extremes that caused the... incident- caused Fae!Geno to go mad and become Fae!Error. Every now and then- much like Jyggalag before he and Sheogorath became separate beings- Fae!Geno gets control back (either being forceful pulled out by a powerful fae- like Dream or Nightmare or at random intervals), fixes Fae!Error's Chaos, and is then pulled back under- with Fae!Error undoing Fae!Geno's work.

Maybe one day, the two will finally become separate entities...

FINALLY sharing Faerie!Esha ref, which has been ready for a few months now, made by her design mama @erineas

She has two lores, one of which is inspired by @valrayne-faeu incredible AU ✨

Esha was lured during a walk in the forest while singing alone. A Fae, whose identity remains unknown for now, complimented her voice, and she naturally thanked them...

She’s a Fae tied to the Spring/Summer Court.

She’s a very promising apothecary apprentice, working for a feisty old Fae named Oam.

Esha makes various remedies and infusions based on Oam’s recipes, but she’s also created her own. She specializes in warm infusions to improve sleep, reduce anxiety, and relieve stress.

Her recipes quickly became pretty popular, Oam is very proud !

She always smells like fresh flowers and plants.

Esha still has an angelic voice but is too shy to sing in public. She only sings for close friends or in places with very few people.

She remembers her years of belly dancing from when she was human and still dances beautifully.

Anna made her dress and Esha often visits her to bring her favorite teas and keep her company.

Esha also loves spending time with 5am. She sometimes has to help her heal after she have eaten some... questionable weeds.

Esha has a blessing by Nightmare that allows her to deliver goods in the Winter/Autumn Court.

She feels uncomfortable in Ink's presence for some reasons.

Her signature flower is chamomile. 🌼

💚 About her love interests

Nightmare has been watching her from afar ever since he granted her the blessing to travel between the Courts, and he seems to have taken a certain interest in her. He’s heard about her voice and is subtly looking for a way to convince her to sing at his Court.

Error has tried a few of her creations and seems to particularly enjoy their effects. He places frequent orders and insists that Esha personally delivers them to him... Wonder why, huh ?

While this event is framed in the lens of a good old fashioned competition, at the end of the day what it’s really about is finding new AUs and coming together as a community. Which means that while these AUs might not be moving on they’re still part of the tourney! These are the underdogs! The unknown! The rare! Which means you should check these ones out specifically!

Wasn't sure if we were allowed to make our OCs/Faesonas consorts to the kings or if that would be overstepping. If it is, let me know! /gen

-Goes by Luxa, Titania, or Sleeping Queen

-Married to Dream (she wears a cameo choker she commissioned of him to symbolize their marriage)

-Was originally a human witch that decided to stay in the fae realm. Still has her human magic in addition to fae magic, but she misses her cast iron cauldron and being able to touch certain ingredients due to being a fae now.

-Actually has pretty powerful magic when she's actually awake.

-Still works for the deities she served when a human witch. Loki has a FIELD DAY with the fact she's a fae now. So much room for chaos and trickery!

-Still has the same chronic illnesses that she had as a human. HOWEVER, she lost the ability for medication in any form to work on her. Pain meds? Useless. Antidote for poison? Sorry! You MIGHT be able to suck the venom out of a bite wound like the pioneers did.

-Sleeps A LOT due to her chronic illnesses but also because using her magic can take a lot out of her. Sometimes sleeps for days at a time. Doesn't leave the castle as much because of her sleepiness.

-She tends to dream about her husband while sleeping and usually wakes up in a good mood. Immediately seeks him out whenever she does wake up if he's available.

-Although medication doesn't work on her, she has a vast collection of herbs and other ingredients for magic and will personally make remedies and medicines for other fae, regardless of their status.

-Has a fox spirit familiar. He tends to watch over her while she's sleeping or takes care of certain duties for her. Sometimes just organizes her magic items, research notes, etc

-Has a couple of her own magical items, but also uses Ink as her dealer to acquire more, especially things she had to leave behind as a human

-Has beef with Error

-Wings are based off of emerald swallowtail

The hardest part of this was not the wings, IT WAS THE TULLE LAYER ON THE BOTTOM OF THE DRESS

Hi ! Kind of a silly question but considering how old they are, the fae boys must know many languages (especially Dream and Nightmare) right ?

Do they have a favorite one (or maybe more than one) ? If so, is it because they find it more agreeable to speak/hear/read ? Or maybe because they see it as easier to trick mortals with ?

I originally thought they liked to use the language of their original creator (Killer with Arabic, Ink with French ect) but I may be wrong.

Kinda related note, I like to think some of them would enjoy humans who speak and/or study several languages. Also that once they catch strong feelings for someone, they would use terms of endearments in a language the objet of their affections definitely doesn’t understand when addressing them. I know it's sappy but I think it would be so cute, especially once that person finds out what those words actually mean.

Also, I really like the idea of Nightmare wanting to teach old and forgotten languages to someone he really likes during his free time. Maybe as an excuse to spend time with said person but to feel closer to them as well. It could even be intimate in a way (definitely not projecting here).

So sorry for rambling, I just really like this AU...

No need to apologize! Rambles are fun. I'm also a fan of them knowing the language of their original creator, so for personal headcanons of what languages they know/like to speak I tend to use those plus a few others.

For this AU, Nightmare, Dream, Ink and Error all know how to speak an ancient fae language, which is similar to Welsh. But as for human languages, these are the ones they tend to use the most.

Nightmare - Russian, Italian, German Killer - Arabic, French Horror - Various sign languages, German Dust - Korean, German Cross - Spanish, Tagalog Error - Spanish, Korean Dream - Italian, French, Arabic Blue - Spanish, German Ink - French, Japanese

Most of them would certainly enjoy discovering a human who can speak another language that they can also speak or who are interested in learning. Teaching wise, Nightmare, Horror, Blue and Ink, would all happily try and teach you a new language, with various levels of success. Dream would also show interest, but may struggle to find enough time to properly teach you.

As for terms of endearment, Nightmare, Killer, Dream and Ink are the most likely to openly call you something romantic in a language you don't understand before you've started fully dating/courting each other.

Dream (Oneiros/Peiskos)-- King of Summer, aspect of Positivity

Ink-- ancient silly lil thief without a real 'job', aspect of Inspiration

Blue-- guard, advisor to Dream

Nightmare (Ephialtes/Hiemal)-- King of Winter, aspect of Negativity

Killer-- former assassin/scout, currently a guard

Horror-- former heavy infantry, currently cook and guard

Dust-- former archer/scout, currently a guard (mostly patrols)

Cross-- former cavalier, currently a guard

Error-- bogwitch unpredictable mysterious feywild inhabitant, aspect of Chaos

How old are each of the fae?

Nightmare and Dream are both somewhere around 1500 give or take a few decades. the tree incident happened when they were young adults, around 300. fae mature very slowly, and once they reach adulthood it slows even more.

Ink is second oldest, around 1400. Error is also old, but roughly 1200. there's a large gap in the timeline here when it comes to the 'main cast', with Horror being the next eldest-- he's about 600. next (in order) is Dust, Killer, Blue, and Cross who all range between 500 and 400. Killer and Blue are closest in age.

time is weird in the fae realms, though! only a few years in the fae realms can be a century in the human realm, and it's not very consistent.

Sorry if this was already asked, but what type of fae is killer are they spring and summer or autumn and winter?

i'll take this as an excuse to write them all out, hehe

For as much as he doesn’t like being disturbed, would Fae Error turn down a gift from passersby, left on the closest edge of ‘His’ border?

he'll never say no to free stuff, but it won't be gaining you any favour with him. it's not a gift if you expect something in return, like safe passage through his territory or being spared if he catches you hanging around. but if you're just leaving stuff around for him to find without any expectations in return, he'll definitely take it if he likes it. just avoid giving him too many things too often, or he might start expecting them and get entitled. you don't want to get on his bad side because you took too long to give him another 'offering'
