Some scrapes, some bruises. That was all superficial. And shock clearly across the kid's face. Glenn mustered him as he sat in the grass. How old could that boy be? Looked about Aerith's age. Maybe a tiny bit older - or the uniform just made him look that way. It still clenched his gust when Glenn thought about how young the new SOLDIER recruits were.
"The SRC doesn't take prisoners.", Glenn's tone was calm as he crouched down in front of the kid, clearly identifying his own affiliations. He wouldn't lie to that boy's face. he didn't want to make him aggressive and lash out - or fearful and run away. Though the latter option still was the better one.
Laying a hand on the kid's shoulder, Glenn nodded towards the thick forests.
"Can you walk? Does anything hurt? We can treat your worst right here, but you will hav eto let us check you over. I have two friends with me. They won't harm you. None of us will. We didn't attack you. But whomever did will surely be here in a short while, checking for any survivors. And they will make sure there are none."
He paused, letting those words sink in. It was a kid, sure, but he had gotten military training, no doubts. And he was logical thinking enough to expect being taken prisoner. So Glenn hoped these words got through to him.

"I won't force you to do anything, kid. But I wanna help. If you come with us, we will get you some place safe and maybe we can even drop you off at a place you want to be. But you won't make it out alive, if we stay here."

@soldier-lodbrok liked for a starter
The sight of the men with guns, all of them aimed at him, had Joshua freezing in place. On instinct his hands went up, and any thought of defending himself or trying to fight back went out the window. A man with a gun wasn't really much of a match against someone who could light them on fire with a wave of his hand - but Joshua would have to actually pull his thoughts together long enough to remember he could do that.
He was trained to obey the men with guns, even the grunts that worked for ShinRa. These people didn't look like they worked with ShinRa, but he assumed the same type of logic applied here.
Though normally ShinRa didn't aim the guns at him. That was... new.
"Is this... a new assignment? Am I... what's... going on?" His voice didn't crack, but it was heavily laced with uncertainty that only grew deeper with each passing second. Maybe his initial reaction had been wrong, but at what point was he supposed to try to course-correct to fix it?

I can't kill Klavier, he is my friend. Also if I did, it would be like removing a native apex predator from his ecosystem. The Multiverse has long since adapted to our Lord of Blood, and will be damaged by his death.
Yamato to Aang, about why no Planeswalker present has ever tried to stop Klavier’s rampages.
...
I kind of what to return to “Aang Discovers the Multiverse”, my MtG/Avatar fanfic.
I sort of am growing interested in writing the dichotomy of Aang vs Klavier, one who maintains the ecosystem of his world via protection, vs Klavier who is The Destroyer (needed).

I just finished reading A Court of Faded Dreams and I absolutely loved it. It was just done perfectly; the plot twists, Ferye, Rhys, Feysand, the SMUTTTT(because let me tell you those smeezy scenes were so steamy👀), the Angst, the subtle elucien, Ferye and Lucien's brotp, even the somewhat tamlin redemption and of course how could I forget, sassy Lucien, my one and only, it was simply everything. I adored every single word of it plus the concept was so original and the twist at the final trial, as well as how Amarantha died had me on the edge of my seat , so to put it simply the entire fic was chefs kiss. I am so excited for the elucien sequel ,I am not even exaggerating when I say I will drop everything I am doing to read it, doesn’t matter what it is, I just can’t wait, the anticipation is killing me anyways thank you so much for sharing ACOFD, you are truly talented and you made what could have been a boring weekend very interesting. Also and most importantly, how are your exam preparations going? And if you’ve already started the exams, I hope their are going well. Wishing you the best of luck❤️
Oh my love this absolutely made my day! Thank you so much! It means the world to me that you enjoyed it! 🥺💕
ACoFD is my baby and I am so excited to deliver you the sequel. I feel quite proud of the Elucien novella and it's taken all of my self control not to just start posting it right away. I'm at the point where I would if it didn't contain spoilers for the main storyline. My progress has taken a pause while I focus on exams, the prepapartion of which is stressful, but going as well as they can be. You're so sweet for checking in! I'll be finished on Friday <3
And after that I promise I'll do my best to get it to you soon! But since this was so lovely and unexpected, here's Elucien's first meeting in the new timeline! I hope this brightens your day as much as you've brightened mine 💕
“Lucien and Tamlin are through that door,” Feyre said, nodding her head to the left. “Are you ready to meet them, or would you like to see your room first?”
Elain frowned. “They’re hosting me, it would be horribly rude for me not to meet them first.”
Fighting back a smile, Feyre nodded. Trust Elain to overcome her fear for the sake of propriety. She was tense as she followed Feyre into the room. Before them was a long table, laden with food and wine, and at the head sat Tamlin, Lucien beside him.
Both males rose at their entrance, bowing their greeting.
“Lady Feyre, Lady Elain, an honor for you to join us,” Tamlin said cordially.
Elain had stopped moving, eyes fixed not on Tamlin, but on the Autumn male beside him.
Feyre placed a prompting hand on her sister’s shoulder. “Elain, this is Tamlin, High Lord of the Spring Court. And his courtier and emissary, Lucien Vanserra.”
Lucien cringed at the use of his family name, but offered Elain a gentle smile—the gentlest Feyre had ever seen from him. “Just Lucien will do. It’s an honor, Lady Elain.”
The room fell silent, enough so that Feyre could hear Elain’s heart hammering in her chest, like the flap of a hummingbird’s wings. After a hardly subtle nudge from Feyre, Elain seemed to find her voice.
“Thank you for your hospitality, High Lord,” she all but squeaked, bowing low into a curtsy.
“You can just call me Tamlin,” he offered, both he and Lucien reclaiming their seats. Tamlin gestured across for Feyre and Elain to join them.
“Likewise,” Elain said quietly, taking the seat across from Lucien at Feyre’s guidance. “You can just call me Elain.”
“I’m still quite partial to High Lady,” Feyre said, hoping to cut some of the tension. “Cauldronblessed will also do.”
Lucien snorted, then immediately cleared his throat when Elain’s eyes snapped to him. Tamlin grinned fiendishly, and Feyre was amused to think they might find common ground in mercilessly teasing the unmated pair.
“Feyre told me you gave her the name Fatechanger,” Elain said, attempting to make conversation as she nervously met Lucien’s eyes. “I quite like it.”
“Thank you,” Lucien said with a proud smile. “I came up with it moments from my untimely death.”
It was meant to be a lighthearted comment, but Elain looked appalled.

Thinking of maybe changing my URL. Idk if that would complicate things or not (it probably would and if it does I'm sorry). Let me know if it would be too complicated for me to change my url, I'm fine with the url I have but I'm thinking of getting a url that fits Grim more.
Here are some possible new URLS I'm considering:

And the next five! We have:
Boa, the RainWing. He tries his best to stay calm and collected, but still has a fierce temper he can’t seem to quench. He likes to study. Fox, the SandWing. A bit of a typical bully, with his own anger problems. He likes to garden. Oak the LeafWing. She has a calm, meditative sort of personality. Doesn’t particularly like company. She likes to cook. Jellyfish the SeaWing. She has a dreamy sort of personality, like she’s not entirely there all the time. She prefers her fantasies to reality. She like to write. Fatechanger, the NightWing. He has a bombastic, larger then life sort of personality, that exudes overconfidence. He likes to meet new people.

@aethernalstars - Kruzaya, Hammer of Unity has one crazy name. Besides that, though, if you manage to get this creature down, then your opponent is basically locked out of the game in limited, and I don’t see how this card has any constructive applications. What does the activation do pragmatically? I don’t see this card being played over anything else that utilizes multicolor synergy.
@connoissuer-of-fine-vines - Rhajan, Inquisitive Thinker has a great passive, I love that. The fact that it gives mono-blue artifact unearthing is a curious aspect for me. Is that broken? Probably not, but it hasn’t been around since... Tempest? It raises the question of the ability for blue to unearth. I’d like to have seen this on, say, Kaladesh. Very interesting. Small note: should be “Return target artifact card from” etc.
@dancepatternalpha - I think you’re underestimating the power both of Koth, Resistance Leader’s mana acceleration at uncommon and emblem creation at uncommon. Sorin, Lord of Innistrad was insanely powerful BECAUSE of his emblem, at mythic! Non-interactable effects with that kind of impact on the board are too much for this rarity.
@dim3trodon - Aminatou, the Fatechanger is quite odd. Should either black OR blue get top-of-library repetition like that? I don’t think this card would be fun to play against because of its ability to repeat the board state so many times. Like, in WAR - Amass/mill spells by themselves are a hassle in multiples, but if you can do it theoretically infinitely, then that’s just unbearable. I would have these abilities maybe be switched in a way, and even then it feels too powerful.
@emmypupcake - Hannah, Prismatic Guardian feels too powerful because of that first ability. If you have a way to protect her, then your opponent is barely chipping away at you throughout the game while you protect yourself on turn three from any early attack, cutting their damage down drastically. The activation doesn’t actually do anything unless you have a Teferi, Temporal Archmage emblem, since blocking creatures don’t exist until combat and you can’t activate the ability at instant speed.
@follower-of-liliana - Dack, Heroic Trickster is neato. I really love his passive. What is the flavor of the activated ability, though? “I get a treasure, but you get information” or “I have advantage now, here’s some gold?” I’m sure there’s some explanation I’m not understanding.
@fractured-infinity - Azusa, Found just made a rules manager sigh. Does that first ability even work? I don’t know. There might have to be some changes to the comp for that. Either way, the fact that this card is minorly impactful and generally weak for a planeswalker doesn’t endear it to potentially adding significant baggage to the game. I would rather have seen a card with interaction in some form regarding how her presence makes the opponent make choices.

DM Tales from the Yawning Portal: Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan part 1
It’s about time that the party face with a truly old school dungeon, as this particular module was originally from AD&D. We started off going over with what some of the crew have been doing in the past month that served as down time.
Delphina did some scouting work for the guild, coming up only on a dead end lead in Cormyr. She at least got paid a small sum, however. Gylikos was off doing bounties here and there. Quibble was helping some folks around town and attempted to further a sort of friendship with Tseng, one of the rival guild members from Fatechangers. Sovereign spent some time with the mother of the vampire spawn they had murdered, spent some quality time with Jericho, and got herself a small bag of colding for plant gathering. Jennoa mostly converted her two dire wolf pelts into other goods. One became a wall adornment while the other became arm and leggings. And finally, Magnolia spent time with the mages college in Waterdeep, going into a deep study of the fey.
When we came to the present, a new paladin sought to join for adventures. Lanwick. And it was then that one of the Reckless Abandon scouts came bursting in, exhausted after returning from a job in Maztica. Her partner had vanished, and furthermore, she returned with news that there were sightings of Ulric Ironsledge, one of the founding members of Reckless Abandon. One who had died several years back.
The present party thought it may be good to do a sort of rescue mission, while also checking out the hidden temple that the scouts had found. There weren’t too many details about it that they were given. It was built in honor of Zotzilaha, a vampire lord that the locals worshiped as the god of the underworld. Shun warned the party that such a place was likely to be riddled with traps and curses, then requisitioned the group some healing potions as well as a couple scrolls of comprehend languages.
The party took some time to stock up on additional supplies, then returned to Jericho who sent them off into the far off jungles of Maztica.
There, Sovereign was able to pinpoint several poisonous plants and creatures, warning her party to not touch or eat such things. Given how many things are poisonous in the area, Dephina decided it was best to bolster a couple of the party members with a protection from poison spell. The temple wasn’t too far off from where they were. And such they began to move.
Delphina tried to check for pit traps along the way... but unfortunately it wasn’t a pit trap exactly that got them. The ground was just shoddy and unsteady and they ended up all falling deep into the belly of the shrine, with a rockslide cutting off the exit.
There were a few things that they noticed immediately. One, when Lan attempted to light a torch, it seemed weak. The fires struggled to remain lit. Also the air irritated them as they breathed; a sort of haze was all around them. Sovereign was able to identify this as a toxic gas. The party began to seek a way out, starting by looking over the various figurines and dioramas in the room that depicted ancient Maztican life.
At some point, Sovereign was able to find a key in the hands of one of the figures, and used it to unlock the door leading out. They moved carefully, seeking out traps. And sure enough Jennoa spotted a pressure plate that Gylikos was able to disable. When they came upon the double doors of brass depicting kelp, they carefully swung it open... to find a giant crayfish staring them down.
Lan, excited to see an aquatic beast, immediately cast speak with animals to communicate with the crayfish, learning that it was really unhappy with the intrusion. While he was trying to diplomatically resolve this situation, the large rock in the room stirred, as the giant hermit crab known as Kalka-Kylla awoke. When the giant crab began to speak in Maztican, Sovereign took the time to cast Comprehend Languages and then there was a really awkward 3-way translation party as she translated what Kalka-Kylla said, Lan translated what the party wanted to the Crayfish, and the crayfish relayed this to Kalka-Kylla.
It worked out in the end.
They promised to give the two big crustaceans some fresh meat, and left them both with some rations in which they were happy to begin eating.
They went to the east first, finding a large stone blocking the way. Lan quickly discovered that the walls were highly acidic and should not be touched. The party, for now, decided against messing with the large stone, then went to the west where they found several broken statues of old gods and a silver pyramid. They continued on their way where they came across a 12ft statue with a nice sword strapped to its back.
Lan attempted to yank the sword free with a whip but... couldn’t quite get it to budge. When the party was taking too long, Magnolia just huffily started to climb up... and subsequently caused the statue to topple over towards Delphina. But hey, they got a really nice sword out of it, and a few gems to boot. Also it revealed a secret tunnel.
As they proceeded along, they heard a melodious tune. Sovereign, eager to see what it was, made her way in, where they saw a singing Nereid. This nereid dove into the water but shyly spoke to the group. She seemed to understand common, but only spoke in Maztican. As she urged Sovereign to stay in her pool with her, she quite literally took her breath away.
And battle broke out. Lan, who has a ring of water walk, charged out onto the pool, where he was met with a giant eel surging up from the waves. The nereid hid into the depths of the water in the meantime. Gylikos went to try and get to the next door and picked a lock that was already unlocked in the first place. Delphina entangled the hidden nereid and turned into a giant octopus to battle with her and the eel.
Said eel also turned out to be an electric eel as some of the party found out the hard way.
But electric or not, both it and the nereid still took quite a beating, especially as Jennoa basically ripped the beast a new hole. With both of them on their last legs, the nereid surrendered, offering the party a large sum of treasures hidden at the bottom of her pool.
And that was where we ended for the evening. The party has to decide what to do about the water fey and her large pet, and continue on to find the missing scout as well as a way out of this temple in the first place. Toxic gas is still filling the air they breathe, and there’s no telling when that’ll lift exactly.
Well. They don’t, anyway.
