Tumblr media
Thank you so much for being a fan of my writing. I would be happy to write headcanons about Tenya crushing on a female classmate. I hope I did your request justice!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tenya couldn't remember the last time he so carefully calculated interactions considering his stomach churned whenever he saw you. Even asking you something as simple as, "Pardon but…perhaps I could offer you assistance in your studies?" was rather difficult given how much he admired you.
Although he remained polite with whomever he was in contact with, he tended to address you with the utmost respect and treated you differently from the other girls in your class as he continuously offered to do such things as walk you to and from classes and assist you into your seat.
"That's quite lovely that you have accomplished such a task! It was an honor to watch you perform during the training exercise!" Maybe it was your imagination, but you could swear he praised you for even the smallest things.
On occasion, Tenya appeared flustered around you. The unusual red tint of his cheeks was very noticeable, but whenever you questioned it, he was quick to deny anything was wrong or he'd make some excuse as to why he needed to leave.
"That is why I must insist you attend this event with me," he was strangely formal when he asked to spend time with you outside of school. Of course, he had carefully planned the social events he had in mind because he wished to leave a long-lasting impression on you.
Among the many traits and characteristics, he favored about you, he found that your short stature was rather endearing. He favored towering over you just as much as leaning over to speak to you. That slight annoyance and disbelief that washed over your face every time was particularly interesting and made him crave to see more.
"I insist! Though I am quite certain you are capable of carrying such weight, I do not believe it's in my best interest to not assist a female in this manner." He wanted to ensure he was of proper help, and as such, he'd favor carrying your books or backpack for you when he assumed you were struggling.
After some time, his closest friends, Izuku and Uraraka, noticed his distressed state after he finished having a conversation or interaction with you. Although it was obvious why he was feeling this way, they had little problem teasing him about his feelings but promised they would support him.
"It is because of this that I would like to…" he cleared his throat, "c-confess my deepest admiration of…" A sigh escaped him as he looked at himself in the mirror. Practicing the perfect confession was not an easy task, and it caused him some frustration, but he would not plan to reveal his feelings about you until he had perfected them into words.

hi! do you think you could do a iida x f!reader where they’re the daughter of sir nighteye, and when he eventually dies they go after chisaki for revenge but iida talks them out of it, and uses his experience with stain to convince them.
sorry if this is too specific, i just really like ur writing, especially the iida ones!
[ Hello dear anon. Apologies that this took longer than anticipated. I ended up having to split this into two parts. So no worries, the second part will be published as soon as I am able. But I hope you enjoy this. I like the aspect of Sir Nighteye having a daughter and her having to deal with his passing. ]
Tumblr media
He took EVERYTHING from you and left only an empty void where your heart once resided. It felt like a violent storm drowned you in a suffocating ocean of sadness after your father, Sir Nighteye, died. But this wasn’t as bad as the suffocating worry that your friends surrounded you with.
Since Toshinori had a personal history with your father, he tried to comfort you after this unfortunate event, but you chose to isolate yourself instead. Despite your father’s passing, you knew he would be disappointed that you distanced yourself from everyone, including the man he idolized.
If you got around to cleaning the countless All Might items, he had accumulated over the years, it would be a nightmare. It was bad enough that you had to attend and deliver a eulogy at his funeral. During your speech, you choked on your words and sobbed in front of everyone until Tenya, your closest friend, politely ended it.
After that, he guided you to a private location where you cried into his chest for what seemed like hours. It’s hard to recall if you thanked him for that, but the whole event was a blur. With time, the tragic feeling of sadness gradually changed into anger as you got used to living without your father.
Wait…no that’s not quite right. Anger wasn’t the right word to describe it. The bloodthirsty need for vengeance was more accurate. Yup. You may ask, against whom? Overhaul, otherwise known as Kai Chisaki, caused your father’s demise.
And in your vengeful mindset, you laid out a plan that would, hopefully, confront him and avenge your father’s death. Once you did, you believed it would honor his memory because it would rewrite how he died in vain.
It was evident that your dark cloud of thought followed you to school the following morning, since your classmates’ raised eyebrows, and looked shocked, or just plain concerned when they saw you or passed you in the hallway.
“Ribbit, I know Y/n is still upset over what happened. But she hasn’t talked to anyone about it since,” Tsuyu said, and Eijirou nodded. “Yeah,” he replied, crossing his arms. “I’m worried about her. She’s giving off an aura scarier than Bakugou right now,” the angry blond growled.
“What the hell did you just say!?” He demanded, rising from his seat before grabbing Eijirou by the front of his uniform. Tsuyu ignored them, while Tenya tried to get their attention. “I insist you refrain from engaging in physical aggravation during class hours!” He snapped, chopping his hand through the air.
“Class hasn’t even started yet, damn four-eyes!” Katsuki snapped in response, making Tenya sigh. He believed that Katsuki was certainly rude, and it was unlikely that he’d ever gain the patience to practice proper social manners.
He pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to calm his frustration when Tsuyu spoke again. “Maybe you should talk to her Iida,” she suggested. “You’re her closest friend, right?” Her question was followed by a look of curiosity, and he returned that curious expression while clasping his chin, contemplating.
“I suppose that is correct,” he replied before looking your way. You were slumped over at your desk with your arms resting against its surface. “I am afraid that while I have been attempting to provide comfort for Y/n over the weeks since the death of her father, I have been rather unsuccessful.” He hated admitting that.
“I assumed that she required space and time so as to not further aggravate her emotional state,” he explained before taking a deep breath. “But perhaps a direct approach is needed,” he looked at Tsuyu and walked past Katsuki and Eijirou who paused and observed where he was heading.
“He’s going to talk to Y/n?” Eijirou asked, looking at Tsuyu and Katsuki huffed before dropping his hands to his sides. “Just what the hell does four-eyes think he’ll accomplish by doing that?” he questioned, crossing his arms as he continued to watch.
As Tenya approached, he noticed you mumbling to yourself. Your words, however, were indistinguishable. He stood there for a moment, curious if you noticed him. However, you seemed rather oblivious, so he cleared his throat, hoping to catch your attention.
This didn’t work. “Very well,” he stated, “pardon my reach.” He laid his hand on your shoulder and proceeded to shake you. “Hm?!” Your eyes widened, and your muttering stopped. You clenched your jaw, and turned your head, prepared to snap at whoever was disturbing your not murderous and vengeful thoughts about Chisaki.
However, you latched onto your lip when you saw who it was. “Oh,” a small wave of panic washed over you. Had he heard what you were muttering? If that was the case, you needed to play it cool or dumb. However, it wasn’t easy to fool Tenya, especially since his incident with Mei at the Sports Festival.
You glanced away while rubbing your neck. Here goes nothing. “Oh hey, Iida,” you replied, ignoring how your stomach churned and twisted into knots. As a hero student, you hated feeling nervous, although, given the negative emotions you had been experiencing lately, this feeling was more than welcome.
You frowned and focused on Tenya again. It was scary, in a way, to think that he probably knew more about how you felt than anyone else. Yes, you pushed everyone who attempted to comfort you away and although your actions were justified due to the recent tragedy that occurred, Tenya was persistent.
It was a wonder what he’d think if you told him that the tiny voice of reason in your head seemed to vanish whenever your thoughts switched to Chisaki, and hatred engulfed your heart. He narrowed his eyes, gazing at you with concern.
“Are you…well?” He asked. “Well?” You repeated, your eyes glossing over and your gaze turning toward the front of the classroom. “Yes…I am well,” you replied, but your voice lacked emotion, and that alarmed him even more.
He had been rather concerned about your well-being and state of mind after your father’s death. When Tensei was greatly injured, he experienced such emotional turmoil that he almost lost his sense of heroism and logic.
He would hate to see you go down the same path, even though you claimed to be fine. Yet, when you turned to look at him, he noticed something in your eyes, and it made his stomach turn. He swallowed heavily but decided to address it later.
“I see,” he took a step back and pressed a hand against his chest. “Are you…certain you are feeling well?” He questioned, his eyes narrowing with suspicion. He did not want to believe that you would lie to him. However, he also knew there was a chance that you didn’t even know how you were feeling now.
Emotions were quite hard to explain at times and traumatic events tended to cause one to feel “numb” and as such, a lack of emotion followed, and made it difficult for one to truly grasp just how they felt. He supposed you were also going through the various stages of grief, which too was understandable.
Your whole life changed overnight, and yet the world continued to turn. Forcing you to abide by its rules when all you desired was a break, a mere moment to recollect yourself. Yet, this did not happen. He knew how frustrating that was.
Perhaps that is why his words were of no use to you now and he was better suited to continue to play the role of support. That was quite efficient in most cases because it allowed the individual the space they so required while at the same time, knowing that there was someone there to reach out to when needed.
“Yes,” you replied. Once again, your voice was barely audible. It was almost as though someone was pulling a string and speaking for you. A single recorded phrase that meant nothing and although he did not like it, he had to accept it. At least for the moment.
He nodded. “Very well, I am certain you already know that I will always be present if you require any assistance or perhaps…someone to lend an ear and discuss the ailments you are experiencing,” he stated, chopping his hand rhythmically through the air.
“Yes,” you replied, staring blankly at the front of the classroom again. He curled his lips and shook his head in uncertainty. Nevertheless, he turned around and walked back to Tsuyu and Eijirou, who were now joined by Shoto and Izuku.
“H-hey Iida,” Izuku greeted cheerfully. “Hello,” he replied, grasping his chin, and tapping it with his finger. Tenya ignored how they exchanged glances and the silence that filled the air was broken when Eijirou snapped, “Well!?” Izuku was startled by his outburst while Shoto raised his eyebrow.
Tenya glanced at him. “What happened with Y/n!? Is she okay?!” He urged, and Shoto turned to Izuku. “Y/n?” he questioned, and Izuku shrugged, uncertain of the conversation taking place. Tsuyu walked over and laid her hand on Eijirou’s back, making him recoil before looking at her from over his shoulder.
“Oh heh, sorry,” he replied. He got emotional and sometimes let it go to his head. “We’re all concerned about Y/n,” she explained, glancing at Izuku and Shoto. “It’s going to be a while before she’s okay again. I know she must miss Sir Nighteye.” All of them did.
“Ribbit, but I’ve noticed something off-putting about Y/n lately too,” something that wasn’t sadness nor anger, but an entirely different emotion she couldn’t quite put her finger on. “Hm,” she tapped her lips before looking at Tenya.
“Actually…” she said. Maybe she could describe the emotion she saw in you after all. “The way she’s acting reminds me of Iida,” she commented. “Pardon?” Tenya replied, perhaps the most confused among his friends. “Don’t you remember, Iida?” she asked. “After your brother was injured,” she clarified.
Izuku frowned. “Y-yeah, I remember that T-Todoroki-kun and I w-went after you,” or rather it was a matter of lucky circumstance that they happened to be in the same area as Tenya at the time. “We…defeated The H-Hero Killer together…” he continued, “and a-after…Iida admitted that…” His hands curled into fists.
He had a hard time remembering the emotional impact of that day. Shoto, noticing his friend’s distressed state, placed a hand on his shoulder. He wasn’t much for physical affection, but since making friends at Yuuei, he learned how to provide comfort.
Izuku turned to him, but Shoto’s eyes shifted to Tenya. “Iida went after Stain like a fool,” he said, never one to sugarcoat anything. Although he seemed unaware of the awkward tension he had created. “You let your anger cloud your judgment…I let it cloud my judgment too,” he admitted.
Thinking back to how he used to be, so angry and closed off to the world. He was truly thankful to his friends for helping him escape his shell. Eijirou’s jaw dropped, and his eyes widened as if he had seen the most horrific sight. “Wait…” He paused, making sure he understood everything.
“Are you suggesting that Y/n might…” he shuttered to think about it, but nobody expected someone as rational as Tenya to do what he did either. All eyes turned to him, and quite frankly, he was at a loss for words. “Well, I…” he straightened his posture and pushed his glasses up, looking in your direction perplexed.
“I am not certain…” although given your insistence that you were fine, you may still be in denial about what happened or hiding your true emotions just as he did. “Talking to her hadn’t helped provide you with a clue?” Shoto asked, now making everyone look at him.
Eijirou chuckled and laid his hand on Shoto’s shoulder. This made him tremble in response and look at the redhead as if he insulted his ancestry. “I think you’re being too blunt,” he stated, making Shoto knit his eyebrows. “Blunt?” He repeated but Tsuyu spoke up. “Todoroki-kun makes a good point,” she said.
“Then again, nobody knew what Iida wanted to do until it was too late,” she tapped her chin a few times, letting her eyes linger on you. “Maybe we need to observe her,” she suggested, making Eijirou raise his eyebrow. “Observe her? What do you mean, like keep an eye on her?” she nodded.
“What do you think Iida?” She asked, noticing he was frowning. “I am not certain that is the best strategy as it may invade the barriers of privacy,” he stated, chopping his hand lightly through the air. “However, perhaps that is the only option we have left…” he concluded.
“S-so how can w-we do it?” Izuku peeped up. Eijirou grinned. “Yeah! We have to be stealthy, right?” He asked, turning to Shoto who wore a blank expression as he thought. “I don’t think we need to spy,” he said a minute later. “Just keep an eye on her like Tsuyu suggested,” he noted.
“It doesn’t mean we need to watch her all the time. We just need to make sure she doesn’t hurt herself or wander somewhere alone,” he clarified. “Oh, okay,” Eijirou said. “So, give her space but talk to her when we think she’s doing something suspicious?” In a way, it still seemed dishonest.
“Perhaps that is best,” Tenya said, but in the back of his mind he couldn’t help but wonder if, like him, there was a chance you’d wander off when you suspected no one was watching you. Regardless, it was his job along with your mutual friends to prevent you from walking down a dark path from which there was no return.
“All right, everyone in your seats,” Shota stated as he walked through the door. “Yes sir!” Tenya immediately said, scrambling to get to his seat just as his friends did. While he normally paid attention in class, he found his gaze drifting to you.
You looked intensely focused on your thoughts instead of the lesson Mr. Aizawa was currently teaching. He might be pleased to know he was right. Within your mind, you devised several plans to confront Chisaki. These were the ideas you scribbled down in your notebook.
You assumed that nobody would look at it especially given your unique situation. Yuuei insisted you have sessions with the lifestyle guidance counselor, Ryo Inui also known as the Hunting Dog Hero: Hound Dog. Usually, these sessions are one hour long on selected days of the week. Today was one of those days.
As to not disturb your afternoon hero training too much, the sessions took place during lunch. Ryo usually kept quiet, to your surprise, during the first 25 minutes of the session to give you time to eat. The remaining time was used to talk about how you were feeling, and how you were dealing with the loss of your father.
But you told him what you told everyone else: that you were fine. Of course, he didn’t buy that. “One day you’ll have to face how you feel!” He growled at you. Oh, if only he knew what you were about to do. “If you can’t handle that, come to us!” You hated it when he gave this speech, even if he had a valid point to make.
“You rely on us heroes to protect you even from yourselves!” You knew he meant well but letting someone else handle your demons just seemed wrong. Although that could be your stubborn and determined attitude speaking. Your father taught you how to be cold and calculated in a sense, and to do nothing short of your best.
Yet maybe that played into your naive plan regarding what you wished to do to Chisaki. Nevertheless, the session ended without you learning or improving. Your rushed footsteps echoed down the hallway as you exited your classroom and headed to Gym Gamma.
You had some regret not taking your hero costume with you to your session with Ryo, but it didn’t matter now. You carried it with one hand while your other was wrapped around the strap of your backpack which hung off your shoulder. As you turned the hallway corner, you stumbled back and fell to the floor with a thud.
The suitcase containing your hero costume flew and bounced on the floor a few times. It then hit the opposite wall near an empty classroom. Your backpack contents spilled out, littering the floor. You sat up, hissing softly.
“Ouch…” you muttered before someone stepped in front of you. “Apologies,” when you looked up, Tenya stared back at you. He was dressed in his hero suit, apart from the helmet that normally concealed his face.
“Hm?” When he realized he had run into you, he leaned onto one knee and glanced at you from head to toe. “Are you injured? Forgive me, I was not anticipating someone coming around the corner at the accelerated speed you were going,” he explained.
“Yeah well…” You glanced away, irritated. “I’m not injured…” you muttered. “Then may I assist you in gathering your things?” He asked, referring to the contents of your backpack. You sighed and slowly sat on your knees.
“Yeah, I guess,” you replied, picking up the first few items within reach. Tenya walked around and picked up one of the textbooks. He handed it to you before grabbing the notebook you were writing in earlier that morning.
After placing the textbook in your backpack, you grabbed said notebook. However, it slipped between your fingers when Tenya handed it to you and landed on the floor again. Your vengeful ideas were scribbled across its pages and were now laid open for the world to see.
You cursed yourself for hesitating because that allowed Tenya to pick up the notebook and curiously look at what you had written down. Your heart pounded and you could only helplessly watch his eyebrows knit together.
“Pardon but-” You jumped to your feet and snatched it from him. He looked shocked by your behavior. “W-what are you even doing here!?” You demanded, clenching the notebook to your chest, and glaring at him. He blinked a few times, and you noticed a suspicious look in his eye.
“I…was merely assisting an injured classmate to Recovery Girl,” he replied. You huffed “Good for you,” in response before frantically picking up the rest of your things. You shoved them into your backpack and grabbed the metal suitcase containing your hero suit.
“Y/n?” Tenya asked, watching the spectacle with serious concern. However, he remained silent as you raced down the hallway. This was despite his urge to exclaim that running in hallways was prohibited. Little did he know your cheeks burned red.
‘Stupid, stupid, stupid!’ Out of all the things he could have seen. Well, maybe you could just…make some excuse if he asked about them. Something along the lines of getting your emotions out on paper. Yeah, that sounded fine. Writing was a form of coping, right?
Although you weren’t certain how much of that Tenya would buy, the way he looked at you the rest of the day only indicated that his suspicions were high. You tried to ignore it to the best of your ability and avoided him when you could.
You knew that might come back to bite you, but you didn’t care because there were more important things to do. Like conducting research regarding Chisaki’s whereabouts. Luckily, it was easy to fool Principal Nezu and the rest of your teachers.
Simply, you told them that you needed time for yourself and felt overwhelmed by your emotions. You couldn’t be disturbed while doing research. Although you felt some remorse for using your father’s death as an excuse to do your vengeful research, it would be worth it.
They granted you a week off without consequence. The only condition was that you had to stay within Yuuei student housing grounds and continue your regularly scheduled sessions with Hound Dog. A small price to pay, not that you were going anywhere, not yet at least.
Although the student dorm was a bit eerie during the day because of the dead silence with the occasional creaks and cracks of the building settling, you tried not to let this disturb you as you started your week-long research. Of course, your friends were concerned when they noticed you were absent from class.
In addition, you rarely left your room during the evening. However, none were more concerned than Tenya. Frankly, he couldn’t help but think back to the strange writing you had in your notebook. It wasn’t that hard to figure out that those writings and your current behavior were connected.
“A-are you sure about this I-Iida?” Izuku asked. “Yeah, I mean she could just be trying to express herself. Nothing’s more manly than taking control of your emotions!” Eijirou declared with a smile while Tsuyu thought quietly.
“I’m most certain the writing within her notebook was not merely a method to cope with her emotions,” he replied sternly. “Are you sure?” Eijirou asked before Tsuyu spoke up. “Ribbit, well if Iida is right then Y/n needs our help,” she concluded.
“Well, if there’s something wrong and she’s going to go through with what she wrote, I agree,” Eijirou said. Izuku clenched his jaw, his features twisted with uncertainty. “B-but we…we can’t just f-force help onto h-her…” he stated before glancing away, trying to devise a reasonable solution in his head.
“W-what if they try to…l-leave? They haven’t even b-been in class lately a-and…” he frowned. He hated thinking you would do something sneaky like him, Shoto, Tenya, Eijirou, and Momo had when The League kidnapped Katsuki.
Leaving in the middle of the night without telling anyone and running around the city in disguises wasn’t the nicest or smartest thing they could have done. Not to mention how they neglected Tsuyu’s feelings on the matter. However, at least they patched things up and Eijirou and her were closer than ever.
All eyes seemed to linger on the ground. More than likely, they were all thinking the same thing Izuku was. “Maybe…we can ask Yaoyorozu for help?” Tsuyu suggested, naturally catching everyone’s attention. “May I ask you to elaborate on your suggestion?” Tenya replied, and Eijirou nodded.
“Yeah, why ask Yaoyorozu for help?” he asked. “I’m sure she can figure out a way to keep track of Y/n without us interfering,” she explained. “Huh…” Eijirou thought about her words, glancing at Izuku who seemed concerned about the idea of asking Momo for help while Tenya sighed.
“Perhaps it would be beneficial to use alternative methods to ensure we don’t worsen Y/n’s already fragile condition,” he said before looking at Tsuyu. “Do you believe Momo could provide such a solution?” Tsuyu smiled, the tip of her tongue sticking out from between her lips.
She nodded in response to Tenya’s question and with some hesitance, the four of them sought her out. “I’m honored that you’d ask for my help,” Yaoyorozu said, placing a hand on her chest. “But I don’t know what I can do,” she said, tapping her lips a few times.
“Y/n is entitled to a little privacy and time alone to sort out her feelings. I can’t imagine what she’s going through,” she said with a frown. “That’s exactly why we need your help!” Eijirou exclaimed, curling his hands into fists.
Yaoyorozu looked at him, her eyebrow raised. “Come on, there must be something you can do,” he said while Tsuyu laid a comforting hand on his back. “Iida is mostly concerned about what he found in Y/n’s notebook,” she explained. “Her notebook?” She asked, looking at Tenya perplexed.
“I’m not certain if the writings found in her notebook were a coping mechanism that assisted her in organizing her complex array of emotions or perhaps…plans she wishes to enact,” he explained. Silence lingered in the air shortly after. Eijirou looked at Izuku before walking toward Yaoyorozu.
“Whatever it is, Iida is right to be concerned. We all are!” He stated, determination shining in his eyes before grabbing Yaoyorozu’s hands. She looked shocked by this action, almost as if it were foreign. He leaned forward, locking eyes with her.
“He’s doing the right thing by bringing this to our attention. Even if Y/n doesn’t want our help, we need to prevent her from making a big mistake,” he said, tightening his grip on her hands. “So please,” he brought her hands against his chest where his heart pounded erratically.
“Will you help us?” He asked. “Mm…” she glanced away, thinking for a moment. “Alright,” she said, standing up. “I think I have a solution,” extending her arm, it glowed a faint blue hue before several oval-shaped devices fell onto the floor, each one clinking as they piled on top of one another.
“Huh?” Eijirou looked at the devices, clearly confused about what they were while Tenya picked one up, examining it closely. “These are motion devices,” Yaoyorozu explained before a larger, more rectangular device manifested from her arm. She quickly grasped it before it hit the floor.
“Here,” she said, holding it out to Tenya. He looked perplexed but took it, nonetheless. She smiled proudly and placed a hand on her hip. “That will alert you when the motion sensors are set off, but it may be impossible to tell what sets them off,” she explained.
“Still, I know it will help with your request,” Tenya enclosed his hand around the device. “Thank you very much for your assistance. I am most certain this will help indeed,” he replied, smiling at Yaoyorozu. She returned it and looked at Eijirou, Tsuyu, and Izuku.
“I believe we should find appropriate locations for these motion devices,” Tenya said, kneeling to gather them in his hand. “R-right!” Izuku replied, helping him pick them up while Eijirou laid his hand on Yaoyorozu’s shoulder.
“Yeah, thanks! We owe you one!” He grinned like a madman showing off his pointy-shark-like teeth and while that may unsettle some, she nodded. “Glad I could help,” she said, “especially if Y/n needs it.” A frown came to her face. “I hope they’re alright.” It was evident she was just as worried as everyone else.
Following this, Tenya carefully considered the proper locations for the motion devices. He believed the most beneficial locations were the front steps of the Class A dormitory, the entrance to the nearby forest, and along the road to Yuuei High. Yes, these particular spots would also be triggered throughout the day.
However, there was more likelihood that, if by chance you would leave, you’d do it at night. The days following were some of Tenya’s most emotionally heightened. He was constantly on edge, waiting for something to happen.
When night came, he always woke up to the sound of the motion devices going off. However, every time he hurried outside, he found that something else triggered it. Like an animal curiously passing by in the dead of night.
While his friends lost hope or doubted that the writings Tenya described in your notebook were malicious, something told him that was not the case. Perhaps one could call it intuition, but he could not accept that those writings were merely emotional expressions.
He believed they were motives. Plans you wished to take into action, and he would not rest until he caught you in the act or prevented you from doing it. So, he continued to wait, and the following night, he was jolted out of his sleep when the device went off as it had done many times before.
He hitched his breath, immediately grabbing his glasses. Despite being in his sleepwear, he slipped on a light jacket, put on his jogging shoes, and left his sleeping cap on his bed. The last thing he grabbed was the device that had jolted him awake and went to your room.
He noticed that your door was left ajar. “Mm…” Despite respecting the inner sanctum of another’s living space, he placed his hand on the doorframe and peered into your room. Even with the lights shut off, he noticed that your bed was undone, and you were nowhere to be found.
He also noticed that the dresser drawers were open, almost as if you rushed to gather clothing before disappearing. His grip tightened on the doorframe, his nails digging into it briefly before he ran down the hallway. He knew his frantic steps might alert his classmates and wake them from their sleep.
However, he did not care, there was a more pressing matter at hand. This was, of course, finding you and possibly stopping whatever horrific act you wished to commit. He had to find you before it was too late. He had to save you.
He pushed past the front door of the student dorm and hurried down the stairs as the cool night air evaporated his breath. He looked back and forth along the road that surrounded the student campus, and his heart sank when he realized you were nowhere in sight.
Silence fell over him, accompanied by the cries of owls and the chirping of insects in the distance. Then he extended one leg out in front of him, bending it at the knee and extending the opposite leg behind him. His calves shifted and six small engines appeared that sparked to life with a loud rumble.
A deafening silence fell over the world around him as his eyes focused forward. He was about to take off to search the surrounding areas where he had placed the motion devices as he had done countless times before. The only difference was that he was certain you had left the premises this time.
While it could have been easy enough to assume you had merely woken up in the middle of the night to have a snack or use the restroom, it appeared you had taken provisions. This was enough to convince him you were out here.
His engines backfired temporarily when a hand grabbed his shoulder, surprising him and breaking his concentration. “Wow, heh, sorry Iida,” Eijirou said, flashing him a smile. “We were wondering if you’d be out here,” Tsuyu chimed in, coming to stand next to Eijirou. Tenya knit his eyebrows.
“Well, heh,” Eijirou rubbed the back of his head, “you kind of woke everyone up with your rushed footsteps…and Izuku wanted to know what happened,” he explained, nervously. Tsuyu nodded. “When he noticed you weren’t in your room, he searched the dorm, ribbit.”
She then shrugged. “I figured you’d gone after Y/n or something else that triggered the motion sensors,” she explained, pressing one finger to her chin. “Yeah, but we didn’t want you to search alone anymore or go after Y/n by yourself, considering how determined you can get sometimes,” Eijirou said before looking around.
“I was just preparing to track her down,” Tenya explained, almost sounding irritated that he had been interrupted despite knowing his friends meant well. “We’ll help then!” He declared and ignored Tenya’s raised eyebrow.
“I am not certain that is the most beneficial-” Eijirou grabbed onto his shoulders, shaking him. “Which way do you want us to go?!” He asked frantically, and yet again Tenya looked at him with a raised eyebrow before a sigh passed his lips. He felt annoyed but knew that, perhaps, the more help he got the better.
Then again, this was a delicate situation and if more than one person approached you, there was a chance you’d become hostile. That is why he needed to ensure that he found you first. But regardless, he nodded. “Very well,” he said, clasping his chin in thought.
“Perhaps Tsuyu can provide assistance in searching behind the campus. I will search the area up ahead,” he stated, motioning with his hand. “Right, I’ll go this way!” Eijirou exclaimed before running in the opposite direction. In Tenya’s mind, he wondered if they’d get in trouble.
The teachers keep a close eye on the student housing, but surely, they’d understand this situation if Tenya explained it to them. “Good luck on your search Iida,” Tsuyu said before hopping off the ground at a great distance. He watched her soar through the air and turned to see Eijirou looking back and forth a long way down the path.
He trusted that they would do the right thing if they happened upon you but now wasn’t the time to sit and contemplate that. Once again, he got into position, and without delay he was gone in a flash, leaving nothing but lingering gray smoke behind.
The world blurred around him as he sped by, yet it all seemed to be happening in slow motion. The piercing wind against his body felt like a thousand tiny cuts across his exposed flesh, but he didn’t care. Like a true hero, the only thing he focused on in this moment was you.
Near the wooded area, opposite the student dormitory, he slowed his pace and leaned over. Placing his hands on his knees, he panted softly and wiped the sweat from his face. His chest felt heavy, and perhaps that was the weight of responsibility he felt.
He needed to find you, but how? There were endless possibilities as to which direction and path you had taken. Even with his friends searching the area, what was the likelihood that they’d find you before the sun rose? His soft panting continued, and the cool air around him made his moistened skin sting.
The feeling of doubt was beginning to linger in the back of his mind when he felt something vibrate in his pocket. “Hm,” he paused and leaned up before pulling out the device. He looked at it perplexed as it continued to vibrate in his hand.
He pondered for a moment if this was merely another false alarm and that an animal had triggered one of the many motion sensors that were scattered about the area. However, as he lifted his head and glanced into the distance, he noted the trees that made up the nearby forest.
He couldn’t recall at this moment if he had placed a motion sensor in the location he was currently in, but perhaps this was a sign. He swallowed thickly and placed the device back into his pocket before his engines reeved again and he took off for the forest.
The ground underneath him seemed to change in density, its surface turning thicker and more slippery. Perhaps that was due to the mud that accumulated in the area, and he had to slow his pace the closer he got to the entrance of the forest to not slip and fall. He would despise being covered in mud.
Taking a deep breath, he ignored the pounding of his heart in his chest as he cautiously walked up to the first set of trees and noticed a small square device resting against the base of one of the said trees. When he got closer, the device in his pocket vibrated once more.
“Hm,” he clasped his chin and looked at the ground. Although it was dark, the moon allowed him just enough light to be able to make out footprints that led into the forest. “Mm,” he frowned and slowly kneeled to examine them closer.
It was impossible to tell if these were your footprints or perhaps someone else’s, but either way time was ticking away, and seconds were precious now. It was evident that there was a chance you had deviated from the path and instead, took refuge in the forest.
If that were true, then not only were you in danger of getting lost but potential animals could cause harm to you as well. Regardless, if there was a sliver of a chance that you had attempted to hide yourself in the greenery, he needed to take it.
With that in mind, he headed to the forest. He cautiously glanced around and despite the darkened sky looming above him, the small amount of light provided by the moon helped outline the trees and the path that nestled between them.

hi hi! i’m the anon who asked for the sir nighteyes daughter!reader x iida a while back, and i want to say i felt honored to have a fic, let alone a two-parter!
i was wondering if you could do and iida x fem/gn!reader where the reader helps him when he has to pull out his engines in order to grow new ones (if you didn’t know it’s a thing in their family and ripping them out means they’ll grow back stronger) just fluff and comfort!!!
Oh yes, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Sorry, there wasn’t much mention of Sir Nighteye, but I figured it was best to have the piece start after his death. Still, I always love a good Sir Nighteye request. As for this new request, I think I remember reading that in the manga. Tensei tells him about it because their grandfather or someone else did it and it’s like some Iida family secret. Anyhow, that sounds good. I love fluff, comfort, and a little pain. It’s been a while since I’ve done a Tenya piece, so let’s get started.
Tumblr media
You didn’t expect Tenya to stop you at the end of the day to ask you something like this, and your lips were spread out in a thin line, processing what you could say in response. You shifted on your feet, adjusting your posture slightly before tilting your head to one side.
Yeah, this was awkward but there was only one way to make it…less awkward. “Uh, heh heh…” you chuckled, and sweat beads began to form across your forehead. It was one thing not to understand Tenya when he was talking about everyday things.
But this…this was not that. In fact, you were a little unclear as to what he was asking, why he was asking it, and why he wanted your assistance with it. Not that you could deny a fellow hero and friend’s request, but you had one little question.
“C-can you explain what you want me to do again, Iida?” Despite knowing that he hated repeating himself, you just wanted to make sure you 100% accurately understood what he was asking in the first place. He took a deep breath, sighing softly, and you frowned.
It wasn’t hard to tell he was annoyed with you, but even so, you knew he would be polite. “I see,” he replied, clasping his chin, “your lack of understanding is quite acceptable.” Well, he didn’t have to point that out so bluntly. Regardless, you remained quiet as he continued to speak.
“I do realize that my request is rather strange, and under normal circumstances, I do not believe I would ask for assistance,” although he was aware he would be invading your personal space, he took a step forward. “Uh,” your eyebrows knit again, and the faintest flush filled your cheeks.
You weren’t shy about others invading your personal space, but Tenya towered over you. In addition, despite knowing him well, he still had an intimidating aura about him. This was evident from the serious glint in his eye as if he were staring straight into your soul.
“However, I find your presence rather comforting, and I understand you have a history of helping others similar to Midoriya and Asui,” he explained, chopping his hand lightly in the air. “Um…” you took a step back and turned your head to the side.
It was a little weird that he had come to that conclusion. Then again, you had taken the time to train yourself under Recovery Girl, learned a few things about first aid, and enjoyed helping your fellow hero students heal their wounds when needed.
This mostly involved patching them up with bandages or wraps after having properly cleaned their scrapes and bruises. Still, you didn’t think that Tenya paid that much attention to you. Granted, he was class president and tended to take that role too seriously. As such, he probably observed everyone and categorized them in his head.
“Please,” his voice snapped you out of your momentary thoughts and you glanced back at him. Your throat tightened and your mouth felt dry when you noticed the expression he was wearing. His eyes sparkled with that same unwavering seriousness, and his square and masculine jaw was set firmly.
Although his shoulders appeared tense, his posture was upright and composed, contributing to the sense of authority that dripped from him like a rapid waterfall. You weren’t sure if the rush of warmth that once again illuminated your cheeks was because of his appearance or the sense of masculinity that surrounded him.
“Hm!?” You flinched when he suddenly bowed, his hands pressed firmly at his sides. “Uh,” you blinked again, your lips parted in awe. “I wish for your assistance with this task,” he stated, “I am quite aware this will cause a moment of discomfort,” perhaps for the both of you.
“However,” he leaned back up. “If I am to reach my desired goal as a hero, this is necessary. Once my mufflers are extracted, my body will provide new ones,” he explained, even though it pained him to see that pitiful and concerned look on your face.
He clenched his hands into fists. Yes…he knew that you despised seeing others hurt, especially if it was self-injurious or self-inflicted. But he was not doing this to have some short-felt relief from his troubles. Rather just as he stated, he was doing this to reach his goal of becoming a worthy hero.
“I will become stronger, and more reliable,” he stated, his voice growing deeper, and his eyebrows slanted. “Just as a worthy hero should be,” his goals and the lengths he was willing to go to achieve them were admirable and, in a way, made you feel insignificant.
However, you knew this was not his intention, and as he stepped closer, you could feel the heat radiating from his body. Your heart began to beat wildly as you looked at him, not daring to break eye contact. Why was it that he could draw you in so easily?
“I wish for you to assist me in accomplishing that goal,” your breath hitched, and your eyes widened yet shined with such warmth a smile came to his face. He knew your answer, however, he remained quiet and waited patiently for your response.
You swallowed hard, trying to rid yourself of the lump in your throat. Your heightened heart rate echoed in your ears like a melody, urging you to speak before time was up. His eyebrows raised when you let out a slow, deliberate exhale as if you were trying to gather your thoughts in anticipation of the response he was waiting for.
Your stomach twisted knowing that what you were about to agree to help him with would cause him pain. Yet, you gathered your courage as a hero should. “Okay,” the word felt heavy on your tongue, and you glanced toward the floor, finding your shoes more interesting than Tenya right now.
However, despite your momentary shyness, he continued to smile and leaned down. “Pardon,” he said, gently laying his hands on your shoulders. “Huh?” Your eyes widened, his gentle grip was comforting and compelled you to raise your head.
The smile he was wearing illuminated his face, like the sun kissing your skin with its golden rays, his happy expression bathed you in security. “Thank you,” he said, causing you to chuckle and turn away from him. He really didn’t have to thank you, or at least you didn’t think so.
Then again, that was Tenya for you. Always kind and considerate. “Um…” the rubber sole of your shoe created a soft squeaking sound when you grazed your foot along the floor. “You’re welcome?” You’d regret helping him with this, wouldn’t you?
That thought aside when Tenya dropped his hands from your shoulders, you looked back at him. “Um, so w-where are you going to do this?” You asked, noting that his eyebrows rose at your question. “Hm…” he hummed lightly, clasping his chin in contemplation.
“I had planned to perform it at the Iida Estate,” he replied, feeling as though doing it at his home would be ideal and less risky than doing it on student campus grounds. “Huh?” You knit your eyebrows, his house? It’s sad to think that you haven’t been to any of your classmates’ houses before.
Not that you weren’t friendly, you had plenty of friends. Some in the hero course, some in general studies, and even in the support department. But maybe there was no need to visit one another’s houses because the students of Yuuei lived in the provided student housing.
“O-oh...I mean uh,” you tapped your lips, your eyes shifting back and forth. “If…that’s what you want, that’s fine,” even though you were worried about how well his family would react to your presence. If they were anything like Tenya, social class didn’t matter.
“Hm?” He narrowed his eyes, sensing your discomfort. “Apologies,” he said, pressing a hand to his chest. “Hm? What are you apologizing for?” You asked, placing your hands on your hips. “You seem rather hesitant. Would you prefer this…activity be performed in another location?” he asked.
“No, no, no!” You held up your hands, waving them like mad. “I-it’s just that I h-haven’t been to anyone’s house since enrolling at Yuuei, hah hah!” You rubbed the back of your head awkwardly despite the pathetic smile on your face. His eyebrows lowered as he stared at you, finding your reaction rather strange.
“I see,” he replied before taking a breath. Perhaps you were nervous, as one should be when entering unknown territory. “I can assure you that you do not need to be anxious,” he stated, lifting his hand to rapidly chop it through the air again.
“The Iida family prides itself on mannerisms and heroics!” He announced proudly. “As such, I can assure you that you will not face any judgment nor criticism while at the Iida Estate,” honestly, if being a hero doesn’t work out, Tenya could easily make a living as a motivational speaker.
“Heh, i-is that right?” You replied, your cheeks colored a soft red. Tenya certainly had a way with words, and it made you happy to see someone so passionate about something, even if it was considered insignificant by most.
Knowing he was saying all this to make you feel comfortable in his house was also very sweet. “Yes,” he said, smiling. “I do hope we are in agreement then,” you closed your eyes, feeling a smile come to your face. “Yeah,” you said, chuckling.
“I’ll help you, and we can…do, uh, what you wanna do at your house,” you replied before making sure your locker was shut. “So, when did you want to do this anyway?” You asked, turning your attention back to him before you walked toward the exit.
Your classmates had already left, but you knew Tenya’s friends, Izuku and Uraraka, would no doubt ask you questions when the two of you returned to the first-year dormitory. Not that you minded, even if it was a bit annoying, they were only looking out for Tenya’s best interest as friends should.
“My schedule is quite clear on Saturday, perhaps yours is as well?” He suggested, and you couldn’t help but snicker. You can only imagine what he’d sound like if he tried asking someone on a date. The crisp air caressed your skin as you stepped outside, and the earthy aroma of damp soil and fresh flowers filled your nostrils.
A certain tension seemed to roll off your shoulders, more than likely your body relaxing from a hard day’s work at school. “Yeah,” you replied, tilting your head to look at the sky. It was bathed in a soft blue color with seldom clouds that floated along without a care.
You paused and turned to Tenya who was diligently following you. “Hm?” He stopped short, and the sound of gentle birds chirping, and distant traffic enveloped the air for a moment. “I can do Saturday,” you confirmed before resuming walking.
Tenya was certainly someone to be admired, and although the rest of the walk was done in silence, there was an odd comfort that lingered between the two of you. Knowing what he wanted to do but that he was doing it for selfless reasons made you wish you could be that selfless.
Of course, while it’s good to admire someone, you shouldn’t try to be like them. Rather you should use their kind acts as a source of inspiration, and if helping Tenya with this task was your way of performing a kind act, then you’d do it to the best of your ability.
That’s right, Tenya won’t know what hit him! You’ll be the greatest source of comfort for him when he…pulls out his engines. Yikes, that does sound painful, but there was no backing down now. Luckily you had a few days to compose yourself, even though the closer Saturday came, the more nervous you felt.
Still, time stopped for no one, and when the day finally arrived, you tried your best to gather courage when you found yourself standing at the front doors of the Iida Estate. Tenya was by your side, and he turned to you, offering a kind smile.
“Heh…” you awkwardly chuckled and tried your best to return it. Luckily the sound of a lock clicking, and the loud squeak of the front door distracted you. “Hm?!” Your body tensed up, and you slowly turned to look at who was standing in the doorway. You expected a butler, a servant of some kind.
Instead, you were greeted by the sight of an older woman. She had soft, coal-colored eyes and like Tenya, wore glasses although they were oval-shaped. Her hair was ear length and dark with bangs that fell perfectly across her forehead.
You noticed the smooth white top she was wearing matched perfectly with her soft blue cardigan. A dark-colored skirt with Mary Jane’s completed her outfit. She had a kind and gentle aura, and her eyes sparkled with recognition when she looked at her son.
“Tenya,” she said, embracing him in a hug. He returned the gesture, wrapping his arms protectively but carefully around her. “It’s wonderful to see you,” she said, smiling as she leaned back. “Yes, it’s wonderful to see you as well, mother,” he stated before looking at you.
“This is Y/n,” once again, you chuckled awkwardly before lifting your hand. “H-hello,” you said, half-heartedly waving. Mrs. Iida’s eyes widened, almost like she was misunderstanding your greeting, but she soon smiled and approached.
“Yes, Y/n,” she stopped in front of you and reached out, gently taking your hands. “Tenya has informed me about you,” she said casually, making your eyebrows knit. “O-oh?” You glanced past her to Tenya who seemed to be standing as confidently as ever.
“That’s correct,” he said, walking over to the two of you and laying his hand gently on his mother’s shoulder. “I do hope that is alright, I believed it would be most appropriate to inform mother about you beforehand,” he confessed, and she nodded in agreement.
“Yes, it’s so wonderful that Tenya has someone like you to help him with this task,” she said cheerfully. “Uh, r-right,” you replied, wondering if you were just making a fool of yourself. But you did promise you’d try your best to be a source of comfort for Tenya, and if his mother approved of you, that was a good thing, right?
She continued to smile even as she released your hands, then she turned to Tenya. “I also informed your father. He won’t disturb the two of you,” she assured, and he nodded. “Very well, thank you,” he said before looking in your direction.
He then walked around his mother and stood in front of you. “I will show you to the courtyard,” he said, and your eyebrow twitched. ‘This house has a courtyard!?’ You were used to living in such small spaces, you couldn’t imagine if you ever owned property with a courtyard.
Nevertheless, you followed Tenya and as the two of you walked away, his mother exclaimed, “Lunch will be ready soon!” You couldn’t imagine yourself having an appetite after this venture was over, and that would probably double for Tenya considering he’d be in the most pain.
Then again, he did have a stubborn underlying nature about him and more than likely would feel it appropriate to eat so he could give his body strength after putting it through such an ordeal. Regardless, your stomach was twisted into enough knots right now, and it was unlikely that you’d be able to keep food down.
The sun was shining, bathing everything in its gentle glow. Like before, the sky was clear apart from the few clouds that passed by. The courtyard was rather large with lush green grass that crunched underneath the weight of your foot.
“Wow,” you said, feeling a soft breeze kiss your skin and ruffle your hair. “It’s beautiful,” you turned to Tenya smiling, and he nodded. “Yes, I suppose it’s quite pleasing,” he replied, although having grown up in the Iida Estate, he knew that at times he was blind to the treasures he had.
However, that was not his primary concern now. Rather it was what he had set out to do, what you had agreed to help him with. “Please follow me,” he instructed, motioning with his hand. “Huh, oh…right,” you said, slumping your shoulders.
Regardless, you did as requested and noticed that he had guided you to the spot where a large tree and a wooden box sat. You raised your eyebrow when you noticed that a first aid kit rested against the tree and looked at Tenya who was rolling the legs of his Yuuei gym uniform up.
“Um, what’s the…” you lazily pointed at it, and Tenya paused, following your pointed finger. His eyes lingered on it before drifting back to you. “You are skilled in first aid, correct?” He asked, making you tense up. “Uh…” you rubbed your opposite arm.
“Y-yeah, but…” How intense would this be if he had a first aid kit on hand?! Your stomach was now overwhelmed causing you to feel nauseous, but you squeezed your eyes shut and swallowed, forcing the unpleasant sensation down. ‘This is a good thing,’ you tried to remind yourself.
It means he trusted your abilities to patch him up if something went wrong. He raised his eyebrow. “Yes?” He replied, urging you to continue. “Mm…” you mumbled and looked at him with half-lidded eyes. “N-nothing,” you said, shaking your head.
“Uh, thank you for trusting my abilities, I won’t let you down,” you promised and although Tenya found your words strange, he nodded. “I did not expect your abilities to be inferior, rather I believe you were the best choice in such a matter,” your heart skipped a beat at his words.
Best choice!? “Heh, uh, right, yeah,” you replied before taking a deep breath to calm your racing heart. Tenya lowered himself to a sitting position and propped one leg onto the wooden box. You watched his calve expand, and six exhaust pipes appeared.
‘Just how far are those things embedded into his body?’ You shuddered to think about it and shook your head, clearing your mind. ‘Well, I guess that doesn’t matter, he’s going to do this whether either of us likes it,’ you gazed at him, his tense expression, the anticipation of pain he was awaiting.
More specifically, you noticed the way he was clenching his jaw, and more than likely that would result in more pain when he began removing his exhaust pipes. His fingertips grazed the bottom of one, and his body tensed up when he slowly wrapped his fingers around it, making sure he had a good grip.
He could feel his teeth giving slight resistance, aching softly as they were forced to press against one another. Of course, this was ignored by him, and he was prepared to pull when your hand grasped his shoulder. He jumped in response and turned to look at you.
“Wait a minute,” you said, holding one finger up. “You can’t just start pulling those things out without taking a few precautions,” you pointed out, trying to reason with him. “Give me a moment,” you urged, walking to the first aid kit.
You carefully opened it and took out a chuck and a white cloth. “I know it’s just grass, but I’d prefer any blood get on the chuck,” you said, laying it underneath his leg. “It will absorb any blood that comes and make less of a mess,” you clarified before folding the cloth into a small square.
You crouched down and presented it to him. He raised his eyebrow, and you couldn’t help but laugh. “It’s for you to bite down on,” you explained, “so you won’t hurt your jaw.” Or at least not as much. He seemed hesitant, but after a few seconds, he took it from you.
“Thank you,” he promptly placed it in his mouth, allowing his teeth to sink into it like an animal into a fresh kill. You smiled and walked around him. You wanted to bring him comfort, but how would you do that while he was ripping those pipes out?
“Mm…” you tapped your foot against the ground a few times as a couple of ideas floated through your head. Tenya wasn’t one to refuse affection, although he was one to respect another’s personal space, at least most of the time, and more than likely he expected the same.
But he asked for your help, right? So, did that give you the right to supersede his personal space boundaries? You were so lost in your thoughts that you failed to realize that he, yet again, had grasped one of his exhaust pipes securely.
His body resumed its tense stance, and a small amount of saliva began to drip from the corner of his mouth, no doubt a natural reaction from how intensely he was biting into the cloth. His muscles strained and a muffled scream sounded when he began to pull said exhaust pipe out.
As expected, blood began to drip down the metal structure, staining Tenya’s hand and landing on the chuck. Your heart ached when you heard the muffled scream, and the sight of the blood-stained chuck sent your worries spiraling.
Your knees gave out, and as if acting on their own accord, your arms wrapped around him. You made sure your grip was secure, but not restrictive in case his body jerked. Still, you hoped your embrace was comforting even in his moment of pain.
You swallowed thickly, wondering what else you could do. Yes, hugging was fine. But there had to be something else, you couldn’t just hug him and patch him up after everything was over. Your lip trembled, forcing you to press your teeth against it before drawing it into your mouth.
You nervously chewed on it, feeling Tenya’s body tense up when another painful groan came after he finished pulling out the first exhaust pipe. Crimson lines continued to drip from its metal surface, further staining his hand.
His jaw was aching, and his eyes overflowed with tears, he certainly underestimated the pain this would cause him. But now that he had begun, he couldn’t stop, and your warm embrace only reminded him of why he was doing this.
Yes, he needed to be stronger. A better hero for you and everyone. You heard him audibly swallow accompanied by the sound of him dropping the exhaust pipe onto the chuck. His body relaxed for a few seconds before tensing up again when he wrapped his fingers around the second pipe.
‘What can I do…’ you thought. ‘He’s done so much for everyone, and whenever he talks he-’ Your eyes widened. Wait…that was it! Of course! Why didn’t you think of that before? Your nails dug into the front of his uniform, and you brought your lips to his ear.
“Focus on my voice, okay?” You whispered, your tone gentle and inviting. His eyes widened, and he couldn’t help but tremble when your hot breath brushed against the skin of his neck. Although he was currently unable to speak, he nodded.
Your heart began to quicken, and instead of a nauseating feeling, you felt a burst of butterflies in your stomach. You could hardly believe what you were about to say, but if it helped him then you had no choice. “You’re strong,” you whispered, “I know you can get through this and be an amazing hero.”
Cheesy, yes. Effective, also yes. You could feel his body relax, and although you couldn’t tell, your words struck a chord in him. “I believe in you and your ability to overcome this obstacle,” despite having the cloth in his mouth, Tenya gave a twisted smile and began pulling out the second exhaust pipe.
Like before, blood began to spill but he continued to the next one. “Remember, every challenge you face makes you stronger, more resilient…” you said, cheering him on with positive affirmations. However, this didn’t cease the tension in the air, and for good reasons considering this was a very intense situation.
Tenya managed to push through and as he was removing the final exhaust pipe, you smiled. Was it strange to feel a sense of pride watching your friend finish what he was doing? You decided it was best not to think about it, and instead, nuzzled your face against the top of his head.
Your hands were now firmly placed on his shoulders, and with one final affirmation of, “You’re my hero Tenya,” the task was complete. He pushed the cloth which was now damp with saliva out of his mouth and his soft pants came.
His muscles finally relaxed, and his shoulders slumped, more than likely he’d need some time to recover. You firmly pressed your head against his for a few quiet minutes. “Let me get some supplies from the first aid kit,” you said, breaking the silence when you leaned away from him.
“I need to patch up that leg of yours, okay?” You offered him a smile when he turned to look at you and proceeded to get disinfectant, another chuck, bandage wraps, and so on. “Here,” you rolled the bloodied chuck up before placing the new one down.
“Now…” you smiled and slipped a pair of medical gloves on before you instructed Tenya to lower his leg from the box. Once that was done, you carefully wiped the blood off his lower leg and hand before disinfecting the fresh wounds on his leg.
Finally, you dressed it and carefully gathered your used materials up before throwing them away. “There,” you said, now sitting next to him. It felt like hours had passed, not that you minded. While this experience was a little intense, you were glad he asked you to help him.
The two of you sat in silence again, and you looked up at the sky, watching the clouds pass by. You seemed oblivious that Tenya was staring at you with a smile on his face. He was truly grateful to you; surely, he’d need to repay your kindness.
“Heh,” you chuckled, making him raise his eyebrow. “Did my positive affirmations work wonders for you?” He knit his eyebrows, somewhat confused by your question, and focused his attention forward. “I suppose they did,” he replied, feeling almost nervous about the next set of words he was going to speak.
“But…that is not the only thing you performed that aided me,” he clarified. “Huh, what do you mean?” You asked, turning your attention to him. Although you were a little worried when he placed his hand on the grass next to you and leaned forward.
“Uh,” you leaned back instinctively, but that’s when Tenya’s arms shot out. “Pardon,” he said, and your breath hitched when he embraced you, pulling you into his chest. Your eyes widened, and your nose was immediately filled with his musky scent that resembled a warm blend of cedarwood.
Although your body was tense as you were not used to this kind of embrace, you found yourself relaxing after a few moments and brought your arms up, half-heartedly returning the hug. Your breath hitched again when his hand tangled itself into the back of your hair.
Your eyes widen at the realization that he could be this affectionate. “The way you embraced me,” he said, almost hesitantly, “helped greatly as well.” Your heart fluttered at his words, and you lifted your head, locking eyes with him. You noticed they held as sincere of a glance as ever and smiled.
You lowered your head down and resumed nuzzling your face into his chest. Sighing contently, you said, “I’m glad.” His hands slipped through the back of your hair again. “As am I,” his voice was soft, just above a whisper, but he could not deny the happiness he felt at this moment.
If you were being honest, you could probably stay in Tenya’s arms forever. Unfortunately, this was unrealistic, and your head popped up again when you heard a door sliding open. You looked past Tenya toward the veranda where his mother stood, her lips parted in awe.
To think she’d see her son embracing another was certainly a sight to behold, but she tried to remain calm and folded her hands in front of her. “Apologies,” she said, trying to hold back laughter. “I wanted to inform you that lunch is ready,” with that, she turned and walked back inside.
“Huh…” you blinked, somewhat confused by her reaction, and looked at Tenya. “Perhaps it is best if we have sustenance,” he stated, dropping his arms from around you. Although he winced some when he stood up thanks to the dull ache that coursed through his freshly dressed leg.
However, it was nothing compared to the pain he felt when he removed his exhaust pipes. You frowned when you heard him wince but knew that he would put up a brave front. You were also disappointed that the hug ended but quickly shifted your focus to his outstretched hand.
“Shall we?” he asked, making you raise your eyebrow. “Are you sure you can walk with your leg bandaged up like that?” You asked, pointing to it. He frowned in response to your question, not that he wasn’t grateful for your concern. But you had helped him enough today, and he did not wish for you to worry any further.
He also knew this was impossible. So, he took a deep breath. “I…am certain I can walk. However, I would not be opposed to further help,” he confessed, flexing his fingers slightly to indicate you to take his hand. “Mm…” you hummed in response and allowed him to help you stand up.
Once you were on your feet, you placed your hand on his back. His steps were slow, but you were happy that he wasn’t pushing himself that hard. Especially after what had just happened. As you walked inside, the sweet scent of rice and charred fish skin filled your nostrils and made your stomach growl.
“Wow smells good. Let’s go,” you said, laughing as you began to walk down the hallway toward the dining room. However, before you reached it, Tenya asked, “Will you perhaps perform the same set of actions when I remove the exhaust pipes from my opposite leg?” You stopped and looked at him with your head tilted to one side.
“What?” You replied. Unlike before, he didn’t seem annoyed by your response or the fact that he had to repeat himself. Rather he smiled. “When I remove the exhaust pipes from my opposite leg, will you embrace me as you did and whisper positive affirmations into my ear?”
It was such a strange request, but could you honestly deny him? You chuckled. “If that’s what you need,” you replied. “But why don’t you give your body a day to rest before putting yourself through that again?” You suggested, and to your surprise, Tenya nodded. “Yes, perhaps that is best,” he replied, and your heart fluttered.
It was nice to know that he appreciated your insight and would do what was best for himself now. “Great, now let’s go eat. I’m sure you’re hungry after that fiasco.” Before he could say anything, you resumed guiding him to the dining room and helped him sit on the provided floor cushion.
“There, now make sure to eat all your food,” you said, sounding more like a mother than anything. Mrs. Iida, who happened to walk into the room, chuckled. “Removing his exhaust pipes was successful?” she asked, and you offered her a smile.
“Yes,” you replied cheerfully, “I’m glad I was able to help him, but he agreed to rest before removing them from his other leg,” you turned to Tenya. “Right?” he nodded and looked at his mother. “Yes, Y/n was quite helpful, and I am grateful they are willing to help me again,” he said, smiling at you.
“How wonderful,” Mrs. Iida said before walking over to the counter and preparing some tea. “I’m so glad Tenya has someone that will help him with this,” even though Tensei, Tenya’s older brother, could have helped. It seemed like you were better equipped for the job.
Once the tea was done brewing, she placed two mugs on a tray and carried it over to the table where you and Tenya sat. “Here you are,” she said, placing them in front of you. “Your father is eating his lunch in his office,” she informed him before walking away.
“Thank you, Mrs. Iida,” you bowed your head before turning to Tenya. “Wow, your father is a busy man, huh?” You asked, taking a bite of rice, and chewing it greedily. “I aspire to gather such dedication for my future endeavors as a hero,” he confessed.
“I’m sure you will, especially knowing the lengths you’re willing to go now,” you said before grasping your mug of tea. It felt warm in your palm and the earthy, bitter aroma made you smile. Then you turned to him, holding said mug out to him.
“To your future heroics,” you said, proposing a toast. Tenya raised his eyebrow, finding your antics rather odd. But nonetheless, gently grasped his cup of tea and carefully clinked it against yours. “I do believe our future efforts are quite commendable,” he replied.
“Uh huh,” you took a sip of the tea before taking another bite of your food while heplaced his tea back on the table and grabbed his chopsticks. His eyes gazed over the food in front of him, and he tried his best to ignore the faint throbbing of his leg.
He thickly swallowed before looking at you. “Y/n,” he said, and despite having pieces of rice sticking to your lips, you gave him your attention. “Yeah?” you replied, lapping your tongue across your lips to collect said pieces of rice.
“May I ask you something?” You raised your eyebrow, you always hated when people asked that. Was there any harm in asking anything in general? Still, you knew better than to respond sarcastically, and so you nodded.
“Yeah, of course,” you said, taking another sip of your tea. “Forgive me if this is out of your expectations, but…” he paused, attempting to gather the right words. “I would be grateful if my future heroics featured you,” he said, making you raise your eyebrow. He sensed your confusion and cleared his throat.
“Please allow me to explain more clearly,” he stated. “I believe what I am attempting to communicate is simply that I wish for you to be a part of my life,” he said, “your kind and helpful nature in addition to medical knowledge would be most useful in the future.” Well…guess that was a good thing.
“You can just say you want my support always Iida,” you replied nonchalantly and snickered when he appeared flustered, his cheeks filling with a soft red color before he looked away from you. “I…I suppose that is…a more accurate description of what I desire,” he admitted.
“Heh,” you smiled and reached over, gently laying your hand over his. “Of course I will,” you responded, and once again chuckled when seeing his eyes widen, and his lips part in shock. Was he not expecting you to say that? “I…I…” he quickly shifted his gaze from you to his plate of food and cleared his throat.
“I see…” he replied, almost feeling shameful that he was acting in such a way. Still, he couldn’t help but feel happy knowing that you would be there when he needed you. He lowered his head, “…thank you,” he said in a soft voice, and you smiled. “You’re welcome.”

[ Alright, this is a day late from my usual posting schedule. But here it is, the second and final part of this request. I hope you enjoy it. As a friendly reminder, this request features a female reader. ]
Tumblr media
[ Continuing to follow your vengeance against Chisaki, you leave Height’s Alliance in the middle of the night. However, unknown to you, Tenya is right on your tail as you make your way to the forest. After a bit of stumble and an argument, he shows you what your future will look like if you continue your plan. Who knew your own quirk would be your downfall? ]
You tried to relieve the tension of your backpack straps digging into your shoulders as you continued down the darkened forest path. In addition, your back was sore from having spent hours hunched over your desk researching Kai Chisaki and his organization, Shie Hassaikai.
Your research efforts paid off because you had a vague idea of his and the organization’s whereabouts. Even if it was wrong, you weren’t planning on returning until you achieved your goal. Be it misguided. Part of you still couldn’t believe you were doing this, but the pain raging inside your heart said otherwise.
It told you to keep going until you died which might be the result of your vengeful pursuit. Regardless of this, you continued walking. The chilly air against your skin caused goosebumps to rise. You tightened your grip around the flashlight you held that shined off the dew-covered leaves resting on the ground.
Although the beam of light could make you become easily detected, it was also easy to disappear with the flick of the switch. The distant cries of animals echoed eerily through the trees, making your stomach churn.
‘Come on, now isn’t the time to give into your fears,’ you tried to convince yourself and took notice of the musky scent of earth with subtle undertones of pine that helped you calm down. A distant hum broke your thoughts and made you pause.
You knit your eyebrows as you continue to listen, trying to identify the noise. It reminded you of a drum...wait no. It wasn’t a drum. More like an engine, several. Your eyes widened and your thumb quickly slid over the flashlight button, casting you into darkness.
You then ran to a nearby tree and crouched behind it, waiting in silence to see what or who was making its way down the path. Was it the teachers? Had they found out you were missing and sought your return at all costs? Well, you couldn’t let that happen.
You’d wait all night if you needed to. However, a heavy scent, like car exhaust began to permeate through the air making your nose wrinkle. You noticed a lack of headlights as you stared down the path, perplexing you. But as the sound grew closer, it was accompanied by loud stomping.
You knit your eyebrows. If it wasn’t a car or any other type of wheeled vehicle and footsteps emitted from it, what was it? There was only one explanation, and honestly, you should have known he would come after you before you could accomplish what you wanted.
You clenched your jaw, damn it. The tree’s rough texture dug into your back, but you refused to move. If you got caught, your plan would be ruined, and you couldn’t let that happen. The wind picked up as Tenya closed in on your location.
Wrapping your arms around your head, you felt your hair dance like wildfire and your clothes flap dramatically. It was like being caught in the eye of a hurricane. As the wind current swirled around you, it caused the trees’ branches to tremble, swirling leaves and sticks everywhere.
A minute later, you slumped against the tree and slowly lowered your arms from your head. You looked around, making sure the forest was still intact, and used the tree for support as you stood. You pressed your opposite hand to your chest, aware of your heart’s erratic beat.
After that traumatic event, it was understandable that your blood pressure might be high. But you shook your head, trying to recollect your thoughts and focus. ‘Right, the mission’ you thought before realizing you had dropped your flashlight.
“What!?” You exclaimed before clamping your hands over your mouth. Once again, Tenya slowed his pace down. His legs trembled and threatened to give out from underneath him even as he leaned over and panted softly. Sweat beads dripped from his forehead, plopping onto the ground below.
Despite the cold air against his skin, he wiped his brow and looked up at the sky. The stars above him twinkled, and he knew some time must have passed while he was searching for you. He also knew he was breaking several curfew rules.
If Mr. Aizawa or any other of the instructors at Yuuei High found out he, Eijirou, and Tsuyu were also missing and wandering out at night they would be severely punished. Still, that was nothing compared to the punishment he would feel in his heart if he failed to find and save you.
“Hm?” He paused when he thought he had heard something and curiously looked back down the path. He narrowed his eyes, carefully listening. You swallowed and looked back and forth, despite only seeing faint tree outlines.
Still, your voice echoed through the darkness, and you wondered if it caught Tenya’s attention. However, now wasn’t the time to think about that. Carefully, you peered from behind the tree, looking down the path in the direction Tenya passed by.
The musky scent of his exhaust pipes still lingered in the air, making your nose wrinkle. It appeared the coast was clear and so you continued down the path but there was something in your way. Maybe a rock or a root. Whatever it was, you tripped and landed on the ground with a loud thud.
The sound carried, and no doubt alerted Tenya, if he wasn’t alerted already. “Damn it!” You hissed. The fact you no longer had your flashlight meant very little to you at this moment. ‘Screw it! I’ll just run back the way I came and go around the forest!’ You thought frantically and stumbled to get back up.
The dirt underneath your feet grips onto your shoes, dragging you down and preventing you from getting proper traction. You only managed to run a short distance before hearing a loud piercing noise, like a gun going off. Panic consumed you, making you slip and fall again.
Dirt and mud clung to your arms and hands, soaking into the fabric of your shirt, and covering you in a palette of brown hues. You clenched your jaw, letting a soft growl admit. “No, no, no!” You shouted, far past the point of caring if anyone or anything heard you.
Your plan could not fall apart now! You reached forward, desperately digging your hand into the soil even as the familiar sound of rapid footsteps and lingering exhaust grew stronger. You grunted when you forced yourself back up, but it was too late.
You hissed in response to another whirlwind that kicked up leaves, twigs, and dirt. All of which clung to your body thanks to the mud. You shielded your eyes, waiting for everything to die down before lowering your arms. There, in front of you, stood Tenya. It was evident that he was exhausted.
His cheeks were reddened, and his hair was a sloppy mess. You noticed the sweat that glistened off his forehead in the faint moonlight and the sound of his shallow breathing. Well, at least he looked like a mess too.
Of course, that wasn’t the important thing here. Rather you had to figure out what you were supposed to do now. It was possible to run, but Tenya would catch you. The idea of fighting him came to mind, but you couldn’t hurt someone you cared about. Were you at an impasse?
You tried to step back, but Tenya’s stern expression and burning red glaze conveyed a clear message, ‘Move and I will not hesitate to detain you.’ So, you remained still, gazing at each other. The tension in the air grew thick as was the lingering silence.
“Mm…” You latched onto your bottom lip which began to quiver. ‘This silence is killing me...’ you thought, shifting on your feet. He was a statue before you, unwilling to move, or crumble. A growl rumbled in your throat again.
“You’re not stopping me!” You shouted, breaking the silence, and ignoring how your voice echoed. However, he remained unphased as if you had never yelled at him in the first place. Instead, he stepped forward. His breathing was more stable now, and he was not in the mood to play games. “I am afraid I must disagree,” he stated.
His voice seething with anger. His hands curled at his sides, and you could hear his knuckles crack. “It is my duty as Class President, and your dearest friend to prevent you from harming others and performing actions that will result in ill consequences,” he stated, making your shoulders slump momentarily.
“Huh? Wait…” Your glance turned down, and the memory of when you bumped into him in the hallway came. ‘Well...I should have seen this coming.’ You cursed yourself for not snatching the notebook away before Tenya could read it.
“The only ill consequences that will occur tonight are if you don’t move out of my way!” You hissed, baring your teeth at him. He maintained a stern expression, however. “Do you not understand that your rebellious actions will have dire consequences for your life!?” He said with a raised voice despite knowing it was rude.
“There is the potential that you will lose your hero student status. I fear to think of what will occur if you were to lose your life at that,” he muttered, his hands trembling. “Don’t lecture me about the consequences!” You growled. It’s not like he understands what it feels like to have the one closest to you die.
Yes, you knew what happened to his brother, but Tensei was still alive! Not buried six feet underground like your father. “I don’t care about the consequences. I’d rather do something than sit back and let Chisaki get away with what he did!” You screamed, tears swelling in your eyes.
Tenya sighed and approached you with open arms, but you pushed him away. He frowned and readjusted his glasses. “I am more than certain that Chisaki and the members that made up the Shie Hassaikai have been properly apprehended,” or so he assumed.
He knew very little apart from what Izuku informed him. “I don’t care!” You hissed, your body trembling from the anger and sadness that swelled in your chest, aching for a way out. You clenched your jaw, and stiffened your body, to stop the trembling.
You squeezed your eyes shut, pressing your teeth together until they hurt. Tenya again stepped forward and decided that being slightly more forceful this time would be beneficial. “Y/n!” He shouted, desperately grasping your shoulders.
However, his twisted expression faded when you opened your eyes. They were now pitch-black, except for your pupils, which were now a fluorescent purple and had abnormal rings sparkling in them, almost like camera lenses. He paused, stunned that you had activated your quirk.
Unlike your father’s that allowed him to see another person’s future and required 24 hours to recharge, yours worked on manifestation and you could use it up to three times a day. It was almost funny to think that your father used to believe his visions were as accurate as could be.
However, this was disproven shortly after he faced Chisaki to rescue Eri. He then hypothesized that quirks could affect the accuracy of his quirk, meaning that his visions were, in fact, not 100% accurate. Likewise, yours weren’t either.
But if someone hoped, prayed, or was determined that a certain outcome would happen, you could see their potential future if they chose to take the path they wanted. It would be helpful if you could use your quirk on yourself, but the only way that was possible is if you were in someone else’s manifestation.
Even so, you were happy to help others see the multiple life roads that lie before them. “He took everything from me!” You snapped, foaming at the mouth as you glared at Tenya. His throat tightened, and the tension in the air skyrocketed.
This was a very delicate situation, and he contemplated how to respond. He needed to be precise with his words. He needed to ensure they were firm but didn’t add fuel to the fire. But how could that be possible? What could he say to ease your anger? Should he be understanding?
Should he convince you that your hero’s heart would not allow you to do what you desired? He took a deep breath. “I understand your desire for retribution,” he said, his voice holding a firm tone to it. He watched your expression soften, even though there was still anger in it. In addition, your eyes continued to glow black and purple.
“Furthermore, I understand your grief,” he added, hoping that drawing on his compassionate nature would somehow convince you to cease and desist. “I once made the mistake of allowing hatred to cloud my judgment, to overtake my hero’s heart for a brief moment,” he said, keeping his hands on your shoulders.
“I only realized how foolish my actions to apprehend Stain was when it resulted in my friend’s receiving injuries,” he said, glancing down. “I caused innocent blood to be spilled, and I regret it,” he sighed and looked up. The stars continued to sparkle as if they were listening to the conversation.
“Even now, I do not believe I will measure up to what it means to be a true hero. Yet, Midoriya, in particular, continues to attempt to convince me otherwise,” he admitted, “he is a worthy rival and friend.” He focused his attention back on you.
“To surpass him with everything I have is my goal, and I am most certain that he would take whatever precautionary measures possible to prevent the one he cares about from falling down a grave path,” he explained, looking you in the eye.
Once again you tried pushing him away, but unlike before, he didn’t budge. He buckled his knees, digging his feet into the ground. Yes, he would not let you push him away. “I don’t care! Don’t you see that!? Let me go!” You demanded, wiggling like mad to get his hands off your shoulders.
Tenya grimaced and before you could register what had happened, the world around you spun, and you felt the painful impact of a tree against your back. Tenya glared at you, purposely pressing his body against yours to keep you pinned to said tree.
“Forgive me,” he said, “but I believe the proper way to respond to your behavior was to temporarily disable your efforts to escape,” he stated, making you growl again. “I need to avenge my father! He died in vain!” You hissed and resumed wiggling like an injured animal.
“And do you believe that by engaging in vengeance you are properly preserving your father’s legacy!?” He snapped and watched as your eyes returned to normal. “What?” You asked flatly. “My father was a great man an-” Tenya lowered his face to yours and you looked at him bewildered, not used to someone being so close to you.
“The importance of preserving your father’s legacy is surely worth more than succumbing to hatred to achieve it. Do you not realize what will happen if-” he sighed, his stomach twisting. He detested repeating himself and instead, tried to employ another tactic.
“If you were to go through with your vengeance, what do you believe the results of such actions will bring?” He asked and ignored your eyes rolling. “Perhaps a demonstration is in order,” he stated, stepping back. You held your breath, and a dull ache coursed through your back, but you were otherwise alright.
He held his hand out to you. “Hm?” You looked at it, raising your eyebrow. “I believe I can provide you with the proper manifestation if you were to allow yourself to go down this path,” he stated. Was he suggesting you use your quirk on him? How could he possibly show what your future looked like?
You frowned, your gaze lingering on his hand. Then again, it was possible that because he went through something similar, he could easily shift reality in a sense. This could allow you to see a vision of the future he believed would happen if you continued down this path.
“Mm…” you hesitantly reached out, partly surprised he was allowing you to touch him despite the dirt that covered your person. Your stare lingered on him for a moment before slowly laying your hand in his and you activated your quirk.
Like a movie cinema, you could see a scene unfolding before you. Everything was white, and a soft ringing echoed before color filled the image. You knit your eyebrows, uncertain of what you were seeing. A moment passed before you realized it was a jail cell.
The walls were painted a dull gray, with a few black streaks across them that resembled claw marks. As if the person inside or someone who was there previously had tried to claw their way out. The flooring looked rough and had an odd texture as if it was made of rocks.
Next, in the center of the room, was a chair. An individual occupied it, their arms bound behind their back with metal chains and handcuffs encircling their wrists. You narrowed your eyes, trying to make sense of what or who you were seeing.
You noticed that they also wore a metal clasp over their mouth, preventing them from speaking and that they were dark and full of hatred. But their gaze was focused forward. ‘Is that supposed to be me?’ You thought. Apparently, in Tenya’s future manifest, you ended up in prison.
The hatred you felt toward Chisaki and Shie Hassaikai had grown worse, taking over your mind and heart. A large glass window was in front of you, and a man stood on the other side. He looked very tall and muscular. But there was a certain gentleness about him.
He was dressed in a white futuristic space suit. It clung tightly to his chest and showed off every curve of his muscles apart from the bulky pieces that covered his forearms and shoulders. His gaze was intense yet held a sense of sadness and regret as he looked at you with his hand clasped over his jaw.
Glasses were absent from his face, and his bangs gently brushed against his nose bridge. You noticed he had specialized boots with six pieces that jutted out from the back of each one. ‘Tenya?’ You thought, wanting to reach out and touch him, but of course, since it was a vision you could only watch the events unfold.
He lowered his hand, and a sigh escaped him. “Perhaps it’s more beneficial for you to remain here,” he stated, and your heart sank. Was he saying he was giving up on you? Wait…that’s not the Tenya you know! You wanted to shout at him when he turned and walked away, but your voice was useless.
Your heart raced the further he walked away, and the vision faded. Your breath hitched, and you stumbled back, feeling the ground underneath you give in. You cried out, expecting to feel the harsh impact of the ground again.
Instead, a strong hand pulled you forward, and a grunt came when you collided with Tenya’s chest. His arm wrapped around your waist, preventing you from moving. “Y/n,” he said, trying to get you to look at him. However, it appeared you were still in shock at what had just happened or rather what you had just seen.
You felt your stomach twist. The anger that was previously directed at Chisaki and his organization was now directed at Tenya. Your hands curled into his shirt. “Y-you left me!” You screamed, your eyes watering over with hot tears as he looked at you bewildered.
“P-pardon?” He replied, gently guiding you and himself to the ground. You pounded your fist against his chest. “Y-you left me!” you choked out, struggling to catch your breath between soft hiccups. “J-just like hi…him!” You clenched your jaw, grinding your teeth together as you leaned forward, letting your tears soak into his shirt.
He stiffened in response, wondering where this reaction came from. He did not know the extent of your quirk per se, and he could not see what you saw. But if he was the cause of this reaction, he pondered how dark the manifestation he had created was for you.
Did he leave you in the future you saw? His arm tightened around your waist while you continued to cry. No, he would never do that. Never. “I…apologize,” he said, although apologies meant very little now. He was aware not to make any subtle movements as he placed his free hand on your head, gently stroking your hair.
The sound of your crying made his heart sink. Even in the bitter chill of the night, he sought to provide you with warmth and reassurance. He pressed his head against yours and took a deep breath. “I would never leave you,” he assured, tightening his fingers in your hair.
He noticed the way you were trembling, and he understood that the loss of your father may have adversely affected you in more ways than one. Perhaps you now had the fear that everyone you cared for would leave you, but he would ensure to put such fears to rest.
“I give you my word as a hero and your dearest friend,” he said, pulling back to look at you. Your eyes were reddened, and the moonlight reflected off the moist surface of them. “Pardon,” he said, gently cupping your cheek and wiping away your tears. He noted that your face felt cold.
While it was a priority to get you back to the student housing, he wanted to make sure you wouldn’t attempt something foolish like this again. Furthermore, he wished to comfort you and cease your tears. “Perhaps we can craft a plan together?” he suggested.
“One that ensures your father’s vision and ideals continue to be upheld and that darkness shall never consume them,” you sniffled. “H-how?” You asked, having expected Tenya to give you a reasonable response. Instead, he remained silent.
“I believe that is something we can contemplate together,” he insisted after a long moment of thought. “However, we have accomplished the first step, for I could never allow you to succumb to such darkness,” he boldly said.
“And I insist that you allow me to escort you back to the Height’s Alliance.” Swallowing thickly, you felt embarrassment wash over you. It wasn’t a surprise that you didn’t want to go back. If everyone knew you were missing, the chances were that your teachers did as well.
Jeez, you could only imagine what they had to say to you. Would they judge you for what you attempted to do? Then again, when Tenya attempted to get his vengeance on Stain, your classmates and the teachers welcomed him back with open arms. Would they do the same for you?
You sniffled, staring blankly at Tenya’s chest as a few stray tears slid down your cheeks. “I assure you that our friends are waiting and searching for you,” he said. “L-looking for me?” you replied, looking at him with disbelief. He nodded.
“We…were concerned and had taken measures to ensure that you wouldn’t do anything foolish,” he said. He knew he may sound harsh, but that was the reality of the situation. “Eijirou and Tsuyu are currently searching for you. Midoriya is also aware you were missing,” he explained.
You narrowed your eyes, allowing silence to fill the space between you. So, he had found out about your plan, and your friends had taken precautions to ensure you couldn’t go through with it. Your throat tightened, and you sniffled.
Maybe it was true, your father wouldn’t approve of your actions, especially after what happened between him and All Might. You wanted to keep his legacy alive, and positively. Yes, maybe it would be difficult at first, but with the help of Tenya and the rest of your friends, you could do it.
You wiped your eyes, hissing at the icy bite left behind. You took a deep breath. “O-okay,” you said, leaning away to look him in the eye. “I think…maybe I can go back,” you said. Your voice was weak. Tenya stiffened as you placed your hands on his shoulders and pushed yourself up.
Although your legs were shaking, and without much thought, Tenya stood. “Pardon,” he said before placing his hands on your hips, caring less that he too, was now covered in dirt and mud. “Do you require assistance with walking?” Or perhaps he could carry you, but that was a last drastic measure.
You took a moment and straightened your legs. “No, I…” Honestly, you weren’t sure, but Tenya picked up on your uncertainty and kept an arm wrapped around your waist while taking your free hand in his. “Pardon, but perhaps this is the safest way to escort you back to the dormitory,” he stated.
While you weren’t exactly comfortable, it seemed like he didn’t trust you to not run away. Regardless, you remained quiet as the two of you walked back down the path you had come from. The sound of leaves crunching underneath your feet sounded and you glanced at Tenya whose gaze was turned forward.
On occasion, he would glance at his hand which continued to hold yours firmly. You could only imagine how tired he was, pushing himself to his limits trying to find you. His face was still covered in sweat and the dirt you unintentionally smeared on him. “Mm,” you feel guilty.
However, he remained with a determined and stern expression, and you noticed his steps grew faster the nearer the two of you got to the end of the path. You knew from experience that when Tenya was focused on something, he tended to block out his surroundings.
“Hm,” this gave you the perfect opportunity to use your quirk. Taking a breath, you closed your eyes. Every time you activated it, you needed to wait an additional minute. Regardless, when you opened your eyes again, they were black and purple, and the cinema film rolled.
Unlike before, there was no dull and damp jail cell. Rather you appeared to be standing among your friends. Izuku, Tsuyu, Shoto, Uraraka, and Tenya. It looked like all of you were in some kind of agency. The walls were pure white, and everything looked polished and organized.
For a moment, you thought this was Tenya’s agency but soon realized it was your father’s. Centipeder, at some point in this future, must have handed the agency off to you. Your heart fluttered at the thought. Keeping your father’s legacy alive starts with caring for the agency he built.
Your friends were talking about something, perhaps a mission or lunch plans, but you weren’t sure. There was no sense of distress about whatever they were discussing, and the conversation went on for a few minutes with all of you smiling and laughing.
Then you watched all of them, except Tenya, bid you goodbye before leaving. You grinned and turned to him, noticing he smiled as he extended his hand. “Shall we depart as well?” He asked, and you drew your breath.
So, he was truthful when he said he’d never leave you, at least when you chose to keep your father’s legacy alive instead of acting on vengefulness. You watched yourself take his hand, and as he guided you out the door you noticed something else.
On the left side wall was a framed calligraphy with the words, ‘His legacy lives on through you’ accompanied by a portrait of your father. Even knowing why, you had that created, a feeling of joy erupted in your heart.
As cheesy as it may sound, living well might be the best revenge. At least in your case. Even if vengeance somehow grasped your heart again, it would not stay for long because you were Sir Nighteye’s daughter, and that’s all you ever needed to know.

Note
HIII!!! My dear, favorite tenya writter.
Could i please request some headcanons of iida with a very poor childhood friend? Like, they met when reader was trying to trade a penny for his whole aah school backpack or something 😭
(By the way, just so you know, i am currently reading every single tenya fanfic you have ever wrote)
((i am so normal about him))
Tumblr media
Awe, I'm so glad I can be your favorite Tenya writer. I would love to write another AU one shot featuring him, but I can't think of any solid plotlines. Eventually, I'll get there. But this request sounds adorable. I hope I did it justice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tenya took pride in the Iida family name, but he was never one to flaunt his high status until he met you. The ragged clothes you wore caught his attention, as did the way you were staring at him and your attempted trade-off of his backpack and supplies for one yen coin.
"It's quite alright. If I wish to be like my elder brother, I will provide aid to you." His family legacy of heroes was something he took seriously, and as such, he helped provide financial aid for your school supplies, clothing, and on occasion meals.
You tried to repay him for the good deeds he provided by giving him handwritten cards, self-made crafts, and subtle signs of affection. He seemed appreciative of them, but you vowed to repay him more properly one day.
"You are capable of achieving whatever you desire. However, if you need assistance, I would be honored to aid you." Being low-class, you didn't have a lot of dreams because reality was nothing but a nightmare. But Tenya always encouraged you to pursue your ambitions, even if the two of you were small compared to this big world.
While Tenya wasn't popular, he had more friends than you and it was assumed this was because of his high-class status. Still, he always invited you to do activities with his other friends and made sure that they weren't rude to you. If by chance they were, he'd speak up and request they apologize for mistreating you.
"It's quite fine if you require some time to properly express how you feel." On occasion, Tenya would find you isolating yourself and recognized this typically happened when you were emotionally overwhelmed, and he tried to offer comfort and support. Most of the problems were related to your social status and poor home life.
You were grateful that you created memories with Tenya. Although being children, it was hard to tell what the future brought. Still, the days you spent eating lunch together, playing in the sand, and being pushed on the swing were something you knew you would treasure for the rest of your life.
