A Cup Of Worry — Kyle Richards x OC

Summary: Jocelyn comes over and makes smoothies for her and Kyle, but Kyle is more concerned about Jocelyn getting sick over her choice in cup.

Word Count: 553

Jocelyn made her way through Kyle's house to the kitchen to make a couple of smoothies in hopes of soothing Kyle's sore throat. She made quick work of it, having brought the ingredients with her and pulling out two of Kyle's reusable cups while the blender ran. One for her, one for Kyle.

Once prepared, Jocelyn made her way to Kyle's bedroom, and knocked gently on the door before letting herself in. “Kyle? You awake,” she called out softly. When Kyle didn’t respond, Jocelyn pushed the door open further, revealing Kyle buried under a mountain of blankets, looking pitiful with a red nose and puffy eyes.

“Jocelyn,” Kyle croaked, her voice hoarse and scratchy. “I’m dying.”

Jocelyn couldn’t help but smile at the dramatic proclamation. “You’re not dying. It’s just a cold, sweetheart,” she teased, stepping closer with a smoothie in hand.

“Is that for me?” Kyle’s eyes widened in hopeful expectation.

“Made one for both of us. Can’t leave you to have all the fun alone.”

Kyle smiled and reached her hand out from her stack of blankets and made grabby hands for the drink. Jocelyn laughed and handed it over. Then Jocelyn took a long, deliberate sip of her own smoothie, and was actually surprised by how good it was. She tried to find a healthy recipe that wasn’t going to taste like fresh cut grass, and it seemed like she’d succeeded, but her victory didn’t last for long.

Just as Jocelyn was relishing her win over awfully flavored health drinks, Kyle's eyebrows furrowed as she looked more closely at Jocelyn's cup. “Wait, is that my cup?”

“You mean this,” she asked, raising her drink. Kyle nodded, looking completely freaked out. “I mean, yeah, technically. Why?”

“You shouldn’t be drinking out of that! You’ll get sick! I don’t want you catching this.”

Jocelyn laughed softly, shaking her head as she sat on the edge of the bed. “You’re the one who’s supposed to be getting pampered right now, not worrying about me.”

“Seriously, Jocelyn, stop drinking out of that cup. I mean it,” Kyle insisted, reaching out weakly as if she could stop her friend from taking another sip.

But Jocelyn wasn’t deterred. “You’re cute when you’re being overprotective,” she teased, leaning closer and tucking a stray lock of hair behind Kyle’s ear. “But I’m fine. If I catch a cold, it’ll be worth it for this view,” she added with a playful wink.

Kyle let out a small, exasperated sigh, but there was a hint of a smile on her lips. “You’re impossible.”

“And you’re being dramatic,” Jocelyn shot back. “Now drink up. You need the vitamins.”

Kyle reluctantly sucked down some of her smoothie, but she still eyed Jocelyn warily. “Promise you’ll take care of yourself too,” she asked, her tone softening.

Jocelyn nodded, giving her a reassuring smile. As if she could ever deny Kyle anything.

“I promise. Now let’s focus on getting you better so you can stop being such a baby about this cold.”

Kyle rolled her eyes but took another sip of the smoothie, clearly enjoying the care and attention Jocelyn was giving her. “You’re lucky I like you,” she muttered with a playful huff that was really more of a cough than anything.

Jocelyn chuckled, leaning back against the headboard. “The feeling’s mutual, babe.”

And it’s not that she was ready to go looking for someone to fill the void that he’d left behind, but when Ruby Carlton applied to work at Villa Blanca it’s like fate had offered her up to Lisa on a silver platter. Though she didn’t want to make another impulsive mistake, it wasn’t long before Lisa welcomed her into her life, both helping her to pursue her dreams as well as meddling in her personal affairs. But Ruby didn’t mind Lisa's intrusions. Lisa could probably do anything to her and she’d take it with a smile.

Tired, achy, feverish. Kira had it all. The effort of the short, impromptu and yet incomplete move to Kim's had only worsened her symptoms, at least in the short term. Her bangs stuck to her forehead as she tossed and turned in Kim's plush, guest room bed. Seeing her fret when she came to check on her, Kim brought in a cool washcloth for her head, brushing her bangs away from her face to rest it against her over warm skin.

"Kim," Kira questioned.

"I’m right here, baby," Kim soothed, her hand gently stroking Kira's short hair.

"Will you stay?"

"Yeah. Yeah, of course." Kim got into bed next to Kira and let the poor girl cuddle up to her.

"You’re so cool," Kira mumbled dreamily, nuzzling against Kim's chest. The fever was really getting to her and Kim wasn’t sure she’d remember this when it finally broke, but for now she was content to let Kira have whatever she wanted.

Kim stayed for about an hour, until Kira eventually rolled away from her, now sound asleep. She took this opportunity to cook up her mother's recipe for homemade chicken noodle soup that she’d cook for all three of her girls when they got sick. She remembered it being one of the things that helped her get through her bout of mono when she was a teenager. It was far from a cure all, but it sure wouldn’t hurt.

Kira was waking just as the soup was getting cool enough to eat. Her body stiff from muscle aches, Kira walked out to the kitchen, finding it hard to move comfortably. Kim dished her up a bowl of soup and Kira liked how it felt going down her sore throat.

It was a couple more weeks of feeling much the same before Kira really started to see the light at the end of the seemingly endless tunnel. She was able to get around better, had enough energy to stay awake for more and more of the day each and every day. It was a slow process, at times even frustratingly slow, but Kim made it feel a little less awful.

Had she been stuck at her childhood home with her mother, she might physically be feeling better, but she knows she’d still be miserable having to hear her mom gripe about how she was letting her down by getting sick and not shooting some dumb low budget movie to bring in a paycheck over the summer so she could buy more frivolous crap. Even thinking about it, Kira could feel herself getting angry. How many years had her mother used her for an easy buck? Well, now she didn’t have to endure it any longer. She could quit. She could move in here with Kim permanently and find something she was passionate about.

Don’t get her wrong, mono sucked, but with homemade soup, and Kim actually caring for her and trying to help her feel better, well, it was the best experience with being sick she’d ever had in her life.

The Reluctant Patient — Lisa Vanderpump x OC

Summary: Lisa has overworked herself and is refusing to rest despite being ill, so Ken calls in reinforcements in the form of Ruby.

The ornate chandeliers of Villa Rosa glittered in the morning sun, casting a soft glow over the house, but the tranquility was shattered by the sound of Lisa Vanderpump’s incessant coughing. She had been pushing herself to the brink, juggling her business ventures, philanthropic endeavors, and fully packed social calendar on top of it all. And now it had all come to this. The stress of constantly being busy had taken its toll on her, and it had developed into a cold, one she kept insisting she didn’t have.

After an early morning call from Ken, Ruby arrived at the house around nine, just as Ken was trying to talk Lisa into going back to bed. “Thank goodness you’re here,” Ken said, when Ruby found them both in Lisa's closet. “She’s been refusing to rest.”

"Color me surprised," Ruby quipped, she and Ken sharing a knowing glance Lisa's way, despite the fact that she wasn’t looking. They both knew exactly what Lisa was like. Regardless she gave Ken her most dazzling and reassuring smile.

The two of them ducked out of the closet to speak without Lisa overhearing. “Don’t worry. I’ll make sure she stays put.”

Ken nodded, grateful. “I’ll handle everything on her schedule for today. Just see to it she gets better.”

Ruby made her way back into Lisa’s closet, where she found her shuffling through a row of button down shirts in every shade of pink imaginable. "Ken, which one do you think I should wear. I—" Lisa stopped talking when she turned around to see that Ken had gone and Ruby now stood behind her.

“Ruby, darling, what are you doing here,” Lisa croaked, clearing her throat afterwards.

“Ken called me,” Ruby replied coolly. “Said you weren’t feeling well and I’m here to make sure you rest.”

Lisa sighed, and the hand going to her head and lingering there for a moment didn’t escape Ruby's notice. “I’m not ill," she insisted. “I have half a dozen things to do today.”

Before she could go on, Ruby piped in with, “Ken’s handling everything today.” Immediately, Lisa was set to argue. “And it will all get done,” Ruby added before she could try and convince her that she could handle everything herself. “Right now, you need to rest.”

Lisa closed her eyes, too exhausted to put up her usual fight. “Alright. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but take me to bed.” Even sick, Lisa knew how to mess with her. Ruby didn’t let her get the satisfaction that she’d feel if she saw how she’d flustered her.

She got Lisa settled under the covers of her bed, fluffing her pillows and making sure she was comfortable. She checked her temperature with the back of her hand and adjusted the blankets once more before heading downstairs to make her some herbal tea.

When she returned, Lisa was already dozing off. Ruby placed the tea on the bedside table and sat beside her, gently brushing a strand of hair from Lisa’s forehead.

Lisa’s eyes fluttered open. “Ruby…?”

“I didn’t mean to wake you up,” Ruby said softly.

“I’m feeling better,” Lisa insisted, though her overtired voice still betrayed her.

“It’s been less than an hour. I know you think you’re Wonder Woman, but I seriously doubt you got better that fast. Drink your tea.”

Lisa quietly grumbled to herself before drinking the herbal concoction meant to aid in her recovery, but the effects could not come soon enough for her liking. Any normal day she’d have Ruby running in circles doing whatever she wanted her to, but it seemed when it came to her health, Ruby wasn’t about to take any orders, except maybe Ken's.

After her tea was gone, Lisa settled down to sleep under Ruby's watchful eye. Even after she’d drifted off, Ruby stayed by her side, determined to ensure that Lisa took the proper time she needed to recover. The world could wait. Today, Lisa’s health came first.

What are Kira Kay‘s favourite things such as; favourite singer/band, favourite film, favourite animal, favourite tv show etc?

Favorite Singers/Bands: Kira's a pretty faithful listener to mostly pop-punk bands and artists, so like songs by Paramore, Fall Out Boy, The All American Rejects, Panic! At The Disco, etc, tend to be her kind of jams.

Favorite Film: But I'm A Cheerleader. When she first discovered it, she was obsessed! It was kind of her gay awakening, actually, and she’s treasured it ever since.

Favorite Animal: Hedgehogs! They’re cute and prickly, and she’d actually love to have one as a pet someday.

Favorite TV Show: Once Upon A Time. She likes the darker aspect it gives to the classic fairy tales and Disney characters. And the seriously complex family dynamics.

Kira loves making jewelry. Usually with crystals like these, but she’s made some leather bracelets and feather earrings, among other things. She has an online shop where she sells them, but she mostly likes to make them for friends. She’s given quite a few to Kim, and Kim loves learning about what all the different crystals signify.
