In 1957 Mattei was expelled from the Italian Communist Party because of her opposition to Stalinism and to the Togliatti politics. She later became national director of the Italian Women Union [it] (UDI) and introduced the use of #mimosa for #InternationalWomensDay. Mattei felt that the French symbols of #IWD, violets and lilies of the valley, were too scarce and expensive to be used in poor, rural Italian areas, so she proposed the mimosa as an alternative.

Haunted House Imagine

I didn’t know exactly how to kick off the blog but I think I’ll start with a short imagine... I guess. I’m new to posting on tumblr, I’m usually the one reblogging and liking all the things.

The boys and I were seated in front of the haunted house. I looked over at Tao, who I knew would be shaking, and sure enough, his head was in his hands. The boys were laughing at him, and I couldn’t help but join in. 

“Okay, we’ll have a race. The people who capture the flags will be able to choose a partner to go in with,” Chanyeol proposed. 

“Oh,” Tao’s head popped up, “I better get that flag.” 

After everyone was positioned at the top of the hill, each one in their sled, Baekhyun counted down and the sliding began. I decided to go down on my stomach and push myself forward. Chanyeol and Kyungsoo were ahead, and I looked behind me. All the other members were still in the back, tripping over their sleds. This last flag was going to be mine. As I reached the bottom of the hill I grabbed the flag that was marked X. Soon the other members reached the bottom. 

“The winners are Chanyeol, Kyungsoo and Y/N!” Baekhyun announced. 

“I really needed that flag,” Tao whined in the back. “Pick me!” he yelled, tugging at my sleeve. 

“Don’t pick him noona,” Sehun said, hugging me tightly from the side. I was a bit shocked and then positioned my hand on his shoulder. I honestly did not know who to pick.  

“DO! DO! Pick me!” Tao yelled over to his other member, while glaring at Sehun.

After the sled race, everyone was seated in front of the haunted house trying to decide which order the members would go in, and who would go in with who. 

“Kyungsoo, hyung, who are you going to pick? Is it me?” Sehun asked, attempting aegyo. 

Tao got up and was at DO’s knees. 

“Please, choose me Kyungsoo! Please!” Tao begged.

DO looked around, clearly amused at the situation. He pointed to Luhan who was smiling from ear to ear. 

“I had already promised Luhan, sorry Tao.” 

“Channie who are you going to choose?” I asked, curious to see if anyone was going to take Tao in. 

“I pick,” he started laughing as he noticed Tao’s face, “I choose Lay.” 

“YA! Fine don’t choose me! You will see. If I don’t scream inside the haunted house you all have to buy me beef,” he said crossing his arms. 

“Y/N who are you going to choose?” Kris asked, winking. 

I burst out laughing and some of the boys joined in. 

“You know Y/N is not going to give in to your seductive wink Kris,” Chanyeol said clapping his hands like a seal. 

I cleared out my throat and made my final declaration. 

“I’m braver than all of you--” I began.

“HAHAHAHAHA,” Baekhyun burst out laughing. I got up and hit his shoulder. He was rubbing it and I smiled at myself and raised my eyebrows. 

“I am going to give my flag to Ta--” I started but was interrupted by Tao who was squeezing the air out of me. 

“Oh Y/N-ah thank you! Thank you!” he said still holding on.

“And.Sehun.Can.Be.Your.Partner,” I managed to say through Tao’s tight hug. 

“Ah Y/N-ah you declare you are so brave but if you scream than you will have to buy me gifts,” Chen said. 

“You’re going to be the first to scream,” I told him. 

“I don’t believe in ghosts. It’s a bet then.” 

“Deal,” I said and we shook on it. 

The boys declared that Chen and I would be the last to go in. As the other members entered and screamed at the top of their lungs, everyone else outside was dying of laughter. I could feel Xiumin shaking above me, from laughing so hard. He often sat on me when he was cold because I was constantly warm. I didn’t know why that was. 

I was so glad to be a member of this group. These boys and I had gotten so close since I joined the group a few months after they debuted. SM had decided they wanted to do something different with this group so they decided to add a female member, even after they had been introduced to the world. The boys were uncomfortable at first, going out of their way to make me comfortable, but I soon proved to be ‘one of the boys,’ and they didn’t even care if I needed my alone time in the bathroom. They just walked in, which is why I was always prepared. Thankfully they never saw anything they shouldn’t be looking at. 

I was treated no differently than the boys were. They were just as affectionate in public with me, as they were with each other. It felt nice to have all of these brothers. I was the youngest member, after Sehun, but as a woman, I behaved more mature than the majority of them, although I did enjoy being in the presence of Baekhyun and Chanyeol. 

My thought’s were interrupted by DO popping out of the haunted house. 

“Where’s Lu-ge?” Xiumin asked. 

“I left him behind!” 

The boys began to laugh, and then planned to trick Luhan. From the inside Luhan’s voice could be heard. He yelled out “DO!” numerous times and I felt so bad, but the situation was so funny. Finally Luhan emerged from the house and Kyungsoo scared him. 

“Ahh, DO!” he said before playfully hitting him. 

“Chen it’s your turn,” I said, challenging him with my tone of voice.

“If I don’t scream, you get me a gift and you cuddle with me tonight.” 

“NO WAY!” I said laughing... “Fine, but I’m going to win.” 

Chen surprisingly went through the house without a word and emerged, arms in the air victoriously. 

“YESSS!” he said, high fiving the boys on the way out.

Xiumin turned to me with a pout on his face. I was his room partner and more often than not, he would call me over to sleep with him so that he could be warmer and cuddle. 

“Don’t worry I have a plan,” I whispered. 

I looked back at the boys and smiled. It was incredibly dark inside but I wasn’t scared. The dark didn’t scare me. I tapped my pockets and felt the items I needed. I had kept the ketchup pouches from the restaurant in my pocket. They were going to come in handy. Nothing was happening but I began to scream at the top of my lungs to fool the members. They were all laughing on the outside, I could hear them. I was currently laughing on the inside. I had them fooled. I stopped my screaming when the first “ghost” attacked. He wasn’t frightening at all and I just bowed and whispered “annyeong.” 

I went through the maze, more amused than scared at the attempts to frighten me, but I was screaming at the top of my lungs, to fool the guys outside. After walking the last piece I screamed the loudest I could and could hear the boys laughing outside. 

“YOU LOSE,” Chen yelled, but I knew what I was doing. 

I stopped my scream and replaced it with a gagging sound, and then hit my first continually against the wall. 

“What’s going off in there?” 

I could hear the laughter turn into concern. I stayed hidden in the corner for a while. It was dead quiet. 

“Ah what happened to our girl?” I could hear Baekyhun asked. 

“Maybe she fainted!” Tao yelled in concern. 

“Go check Chen and Xiumin, since you guys aren’t scared of this,” Luhan added. 

I opened the ketchup pouches and smeared the red substance on my face and arms and lied down on the floor. A few minutes later Xiumin and Chen entered. 

“Do you guys see her?” Kris asked from outside. 

“No, not yet, but there’s a figure on the floor,” Chen answered. 

“Is it a mannequin?” Xiumin asked. 

“No it wasn’t there before- you think it’s Y/N?” he asked his eyes growing wide.

“It is, pull her out, I can’t see very well in here.” 

Once they pulled me out the boys noticed the red and they all screamed. I jumped up. 

“HA! CHEN YOU SCREAMED. I WIN!” I said and started doing a victory dance.

“Not cool!” he said. 

I threw my arms around him and began laughing. The boys joined in and pointed at Chen. 

“Ah she’s good,” Sehun said, clapping in approval, “our girl is talented in more areas than just singing and dancing.”

“Of course, she’s my daughter,” Suho said, patting my back.

“Oh yeah, mom. It’s all you.” I said.

Changbin’s POV

‘I don’t like this energy they are having’

I think to myself looking at Han and Chan. Han is hanging out with Minho more often but when it’s about Joy, these two are really on the other end of the pole.

“Joy is the youngest, definitely she needs more attention and care. If we leave her be without somebody supervising, what are we going to answer to her brother if something happens to her again.” Chan explains his stance again.

“Joy is also still a teenager. All teenagers deserve some space of their own. Wouldn’t we go too far if we continue the roster itself?” Han questions it as always

“Or you can come up with an explanation to her brother if anything happens to her again? As long as the culprit hasn’t been apprehended, Joy’s life will be at risk!” Chan tells him.

“But aren’t we getting too strict about this?!” Han says back.

“ALRIGHT STOP! YOU THERE! YOU THERE! 15 MINUTES!”

I ended up snapping at the two, having enough of their nonsense before pulling Han to the booth while pulling Chan to the pantry.

“OI! SEO CHANGBIN/CHANGBIN HYUNG!”

“You guys are staying as it is if you guys don’t quit arguing and COMPROMISE!” I tell them both before leaving the studio for a breather.

Joy’s POV ~FLASHBACK~ “Everything will be okay, Sis. I promise once we get out of here, nobody will hurt us anymore” ~•••~

“AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!”

I screamed myself awake. “Joy…Joy? Are you okay?” I turn to Manager Lee tapping my shoulder in worry.

“A little alright.” I panted reassuring him. “You sure?” He asks and I nodded my head. Somehow, I suddenly had that urge back and went to vomit in the toilet

“Easy Joy. Easy.” Manager Lee comes in and rubs my back. I took some deep breaths and felt better after that.

“Go get some rest. I will clean up and go make the food.” He tells me and that’s what I did.

Soon, I heard a door knob and it was Hyunjin. “Did something happen?” He asks me and I shook my head. “Okay then” He nods his head leaving his room.

I just continue to use my phone until I end up sleeping throughout till who knows when. My body is just not working on me.

Hyunjin’s POV

I walked out and close the door quietly until Manager Lee walks over. “Asleep?” He asks me.

“Should be” I said. “Good” He sighs in relief saying. “What you up to?” I then asked him. “Just finished cleaning up the toilet.” He says which I understood right away.

“Joy isnt so well, I guess until the poison is completely removed, we have to do what we can.” I said. “Just a question.” He then says.

“Yeah?” I asked him. “Did Joy come across to you in any shape or form unusual?” He then asks me and I shook my head.

“I guess I must have seen a ghost.” He says walking back into the kitchen which got me clueless about what he meant for the rest of the day. -Hours Later-

“Really Manager Lee? Speak up please!”

Chan says to Lee frustrated by Lee’s hesitation. “What do you really mean by YOU MUST HAVE SEEN A GHOST? Something must have happened!” Han asks him to explain what he had told me earlier.

“Ah…Joy did scream herself awake this morning…a first…after all…she’s a tsundere…” He explains scratching his head.

“A first cause she’s a tsundere? Give her a break!” Kim and MinHo tells him off quietly, minding the fact that Joy is asleep.

‘Of course the tsunderes will defend each other’ I think to myself. “Tsundere just be whoever want to be” MinHo says to Lee unimpressed walking to his room.

“Give the girl a break already!” Kim is the next snapping at Lee walking to her room, leaving us wondering what to do next

Seungmin’s POV

“So we had to have a roster, can somebody drag Felix out for me?”

Chan sits everybody else except Joy who is deep asleep after her discharge and notices Felix is gone. WooJin ends up carrying Felix by the waist out of his room.

“Put him down please.” Chan tells WooJin and he soon does so. “Sorry.” He says.

“Now to serious stuff, we can’t be watching Joy 24/7 and with what she’s really capable of, we need to arrange somebody to watch over her until she recovers.” Chan then explains.

“Or trust her and treat her as an adult.” Manager kim says. “But what if somebody poisons her again under our noses?” Lee points out

Kim just ends up walking out. Lee then walks out along to apologise to Kim.

“I bet they are SURE in a relationship.” Felix tells us. I nod agreeing. “But has the person who poisoned Joy been caught yet?” I then asked. We all shook our heads

“But the police have been around us all day every day.” Hyunjin reminds us.

“Then how did they already checked the apple juice on the vending machine, none of them had retinol and only the one Joy’s drinking had it?” Changbin scratches his head.

“I wish I can answer you that.” Lee Know tells him. “Then tell the ceo to get some to check out food and drinks.” Jeongin says. Kim and Lee then walked back in.

“Tomorrow the rest of you except Seungmin have no schedules. Seungmin, you will have to meet the CEO in the afternoon.” Kim then says out our schedules

“Okay and i will ask him, jeongin” i say. “The CEO has announced that also Joy will from now on eat only whatever it’s been prepared here or her brother’s.” Lee then adds on.

“Okay but i will still ask.” I say. “I know” Lee says. “Anybody want dinner?” Kim then asks. “Sure.” We all say.

“Go make the dinner.” Kim then pushes Lee in the kitchen and closes the door. Lee does so. “Can I ask you something Noona?” Jeongin then asks Kim. “Yeah.” She says.

“Are you and Lee in a relationship?”

He then asks right away, the rest of us not sure whether to laugh or cry at that.

“Yeah.” She confidently says. “If not, he wouldn’t be in the kitchen already.” She adds on.

“Does the CEO know?” Felix also asks her. “Yeah and he cant do anything if he dislikes it.” She says.

“He just say don’t expect him to show up if Lee and I get married.” She adds on as Joy walks out sleepily to the toilet.

“Throwing up again?”

Kim asks her but we can hear throwing up the moment the door is closed. “Yup.” I say going to the door as I can hear the flush. She opens the door and looks at me.

“Better?” I ask her. She just nods her head rubbing her eyes.

“Want to stay awake for food? Lees cooking” I asked her. She shook her head.

“I will end up puking everything out still so skip it.” She says. “Even light soup?” Lee asks. “I’ve successfully unfortunately puke out everything the hospital given so I can’t really guarantee.” She says.

I then put my hands on her shoulders, making her look up at me. “Okay.” Lee says. “STILL COOKING!” He shouts from the kitchen.

“At least try eating something” I said to her. “Okay.” She says nodding her head. I soon pull her with me to join everybody else.

“Awwwww our Joy needs some hugs~” Felix cooed taking her from me and hugs her. “Comfy?” He asks her. She nods her head. “Good” He smiles.

“I am really sorry about what happened.” She then apologised looking at us. “Stop. We arent mad.” Chan says ruffling her hair. She just nods her head.

“Who wants to watch some comedy then?”

Hyunjin then grabs the remote asking us all. We all do and he opens up some comedy shows. I then somehow took Joy from Felix and hug her.

Chan and Han gave me both the death glares. “Comfy?” I ask her, ignoring the two. She nods her head. “Good good” I patted her head.

“Lee Know Hyung!! Can I be your cuddly cat?”

Han asks Lee Know out of the blue that got everybody laughing. “Sure.” He agrees opening his arms for Han to snuggle onto him. We spend about the whole night instead creating our own comedy.

-The Next Day-

I woke up to somebody puking and as usual it was Joy puking in the toilet

I get up to see if shes okay. She flushed as usual and came out, almost wobbly from vomiting.

“Oops” She ends up steps accidentally on the mop and almost fell

I help her sit on the couch the moment I grabbed onto her. “I look like the most miserable kitten in the world right now.” She tells me as she hugs me.

“Or am I not?” She looks at me asking. I just giggle. “And how did the dorm turn quiet today?” She then asks me. “Food comas.” I say and she just chuckle.

“You’re funny.” She chuckles. I chuckle as well. “Want some food?” I asked her. “I rather stay like this for now.” She says.

“Okaie.” I say as I just hug her. ‘How can somebody be such a tsundere yet cute at the same time?’ I smiled and squealed in my thoughts hugging her.

She ends up falling back asleep again. So do I. But when we woke up, everybody is gone. “Go brush your teeth. I will cook something light.” I tell her

She nods and does so. I cook up a light soup and add some soft carrots that she can have along with the soup.

Just as the soup is done, the doorbell ring and it was the CEO.

‘I thought we are meeting in the afternoon?’ I opened the door thinking to myself in shock

He walks in. “I’m here to talk to you about a chance to MC alongside Heejun and Jimin of 15&.” He says as we sit down

“For After School Club?” I asked him. He nods his head. “I would love the opportunity.” I smiled

“Good and kim told me. Yes i can get someone to test the food before its eaten, same with drinks.” He says.

“Thank you” I thanked him. “No worries, I didn’t expect this to come from you to be honest.” He looks at me with a chuckle

“I’m just worried. Thats all.” I say. “Understandable. You are smart and considerate but rest assured, I will get this matter investigated regardless.” He taps my shoulder with a smile.

I just blush and bowed. “Thank you.” I say again. “Your welcome.” He smiles as he takes his leave after that.

Joy soon comes out of the toilet. “Whose that?” She asks me. “Ceo.” I say. “Just worry less and rest more.” I tell her before pulling her with me to the kitchen so we can get some food.

Joy’s POV

“This apple juice is really something!”

I cheered drinking my favourite apple juice happily. “You always like your apple juice.” Seungmin chuckles and I just rolled my tongue at him.

“Promotions ended and we can finally enjoy some time~” Chan cheers and while the rest are laughing, I felt something is wrong with the apple juice the more I drink it.

“Isn’t this your favourite juice?” The makeup artist asks me as she looks at me behaving very weirdly.

“Is my favourite but-uh oh” I answered but half-way, a sudden headache hit me and everything went black as the pain overtook me.

Seungmin’s POV

A loud thud happened when I came back from the toilet. I was quick to grab onto Joy before she collapsed even further.

“JOY!!”

The rest of the group also dropped everything they are doing. “What was she drinking before this?” Chan asks as Manager Lee quickly called the ambulance.

“She is drinking this but something is really off with her.” The makeup artist for Joy passed Chan the bottle Joy is drinking.

“I’m calling the police.” Kim also took out her phone to call the police. “How on earth did this happen?” Woojin was in shock as much as the rest of us are.

Joy was in and out of conscious while we are waiting for the ambulance to arrive. “Help is coming.” I put some strands of her hair behind her hair reassuring her softly.

The ambulance soon arrived and we let them work on Joy. She is soon taken to the hospital while we followed along.

I was the last of the bunch to give police statements when they arrive. “Any news of Joy?” I asked the rest when I’m done with my statements.

They shook their heads. ‘Please be okay…Joy…’ I looked at the emergency room praying for Joy’s safety.

Chan’s POV

“Oh you’re here.” WooJin says wiping his tears when Sieun arrived. "Yeah. Is everything okay?" She ask. “Joy has been poisoned and the doctors are working on her.” Felix looks at her with devastation telling what happened

"I'm sorry to hear that." She say looking away a little. “Did…anybody inform Mike?” She looked back asking us.

"Not yet." I say. The doctor soon comes out before Sieun could say anything. “How’s our friend? Is she okay?” Seungmin was the first to charge forward asking.

“Your friend’s okay, she’s lucky to survive this poisoning in such a huge dose.” The doctor explains to us

"I will be keeping her here for a while. To get her better." The doctor says. “I will run more checks on her to identify whether she was being poisoned with Retinol.” The doctor adds on.

We went to the ward once the doctor gave us the number. With a bucket under the bed, Joy was barely awake.

We all just sit and talk quietly. “How are you feeling?” Sieun softly ask her when she is more awake.

“I need a bucket please.” She says instead. I hands her the bucket from under the bed. She ends up getting up to puke into it. Sieun just end up rubbing her back.

Soon Joy had stopped. “Do you want any food?” Seungmin asked her and she shook her head

"Water?" He asks. Joy just nods her head looking away. “I will get her the warm water.” Sieun suggest going to the room behind to take the warm water while Joy looks at the door waiting for her.

Sieun soon grab it and take it back to Joy. “Have it slowly and don’t say anything else.” She tells Joy as she gives her the cup.

Joy nods doing so. “Do you need anything you want me bringing from the dorms?” Felix asks her. She shook her head snuggling onto Sieun.

‘Would be nice if Joy is that relaxed around us.’ I think to myself seeing how close Joy is to her.

"Very well." He says. “Try getting some sleep okay?” Sieun patted Joy’s head

"Or not." She say as Joy suddenly got up and starts vomiting again into the pail

Sieun just sit there, rubbing her back. “Better now?” She asked and Joy nods her head. "Good." Sieun says. It took her a while to fall asleep though she did on Sieun’s shoulder.

“We will come and visit Joy tomorrow.” I tells me quietly as we leave one by one back to the dorms for the two to spend time together.

“What a day…” Han sighs. “A poisoning like this…” Felix also sighs as Seungmin just quietly entered into his room, closing his door.

“Are you okay?”

I turned around to WooJin asking me. “I need some time alone please.” I said to him standing up from the couch and walking to my room before hiding under the blankets and started crying myself to sleep.

A Different Kind Of Joy (SKZ Female Member) Chapter 21

Joy’s POV

“Can I go to the toilet?”

I asked Chan. He nods his head and I immediately get up walking. I was practicing my part when I suddenly bumped onto some people I wish I didn’t bump onto.

“Long time no see”

Seungkwan says and I just ignore them all to look for my manager. Then I go to the counter.

“Do you know where’s the toilet in this level?” I asked the staff to try ignoring these people.

“You are going to the correct direction.” The staff looks at me with a smile, reminding me. I can’t help feeling nervous though I won’t show it, they are in the direction of where I want to head.

So I decide to go to the toilet at the other level, I don’t care how troublesome that’s going to take. I just want to forget about everything that happened then.

But lord and behold cause what happens next will shock even the mightiest of all.

Seungkwan this time, is outside the restroom I went to. ‘Oh lordly can they leave me alone?!’ I facepalmed to myself. “You sure you don’t really know us?” He asks me.

“Excuse me, I have to go.” I said going down to the stairs, he followed until I saw my sister-in-law that which make this whole thing end.

“Joy. Come over here.” I immediately go to my sister-in-law and hugged her, my anxiety almost shoot in the roof but felt better being with her.

“Boo Seungkwan. Do you have a death wish? Don’t you know what’s called NO?”

She tells him off before taking me back to the waiting room my group is in. “Are you okay?” She asks me and I nodded my head.

Takhyun stopped Seungkwan from going any further as Judith takes me back to the waiting room. “Oh it’s a surprise seeing you.” Kim greeted Judith.

“If weren’t for some creeps that I don’t wish near Joy but yeah it’s a coincidence.” Judith says putting me down.

Before the rest could ask, the staff informed us we have 15 minutes to go to the stage so we went. “Stay focused” Judith whispered as I leave to the platform.

-After The Performance-

I literally forgot even though the guys have been asking me what do my sister-in-law meant by some creeps that she don’t wish near me.

“Joy~”

Jeongin walked towards me with a pout. “If you’re asking about what my sister-in-law has said, don’t ask.” I tell him.

“I’m not asking, I just want a hug.” He pouts saying as he opens his arms. I just end up hugging him and he hugging me back

“I wish my future sister-in-law will be like yours or similar.” He whispers. I just softly chuckle.

“I’m sure you will.” I smile before he lets go of the hug suddenly because Seungmin is showing his affection again.

“Nooooo stoppppp!!!!”

Jeongin was running around all over the waiting room, to get away from Seungmin. Somehow, for some reason, he decides to put me in front of Seungmin during that.

“There you go!” Jeongin tells him as I got put to the front. Seungmin just gives him a weird smirk and hugs me instead.

Note to myself: Add something in Jeongin’s honey lemon the next time so he will get an unforgettable experience

“Sorry Joy” Jeongin apologised mouthing and laughing at the same time as the rest laughed as well.

After a few more rounds of recording and joking around, we went back to the dorms.

I decided to excuse myself back early to bed as usual before anyone can say anything else.

HyunJin’s POV

“Let her let her”

Woojin tells Changbin when Joy excuses herself to early bed after we reached back the dorms.

“But she-“ Changbin wanted to say more but Woojin glared at him to not to, cutting him off halfway.

“Alright alright. Let’s go watch some movies.” Manager Lee tells us throwing me the remote controller.

“Wha-” I looked at Lee confused holding the controller which I managed to catch in time. “Don’t ask cause you’re picking tonight’s movie.” Kim tells him.

“But-“ I wanted to say more but already got cut off by them. “No buts, no coconuts boy~” They all said to me softly giggling.

“If you so, alright then” I chuckled giving in and picking Deadpool for everybody to watch for the night.

I remember by the time the movie has ended, everybody else has fallen asleep except for Felix, myself and Lee Know.

“Surely they sleep faster than Joy~” Felix giggles jokingly yet softly. “Agreed” We both agreed softly giggling about it for the whole night.

Chan’s POV

It was our debut stage day, we are all being ourselves in the waiting room.

I was doing my hair when I saw from the mirror that Han and Seungmin are creeping at Joy whose sleeping on the chair after doing her own hair.

Kim walked towards them quietly and fake coughs. The two immediately stopped and looked at Manager Kim.

“So which one of you want to put the BABY to sleep?” She softly yet jokingly asks them.

Both of them looked at each other, mouthing that the other should be responsible.

‘Serve you two right.’ I think to myself giggling softly as they are mouthing like that of each other

The whole thing continued for a good 5 minutes that lands up Joy being woken up as they’ve gotten louder and louder.

“What the?” Joy looked at us in shock. “You are performing soon so have this.” Manager Kim then gives her this iced coffee with the straw.

“Thank you.” Joy softly smiles thanking Kim as she quietly drinks the coffee. “Our Joy must be droopy sleepy that she needs coffee~” Woojin pinches Joy’s cheeks.

“STRAY KIDS DISTRICT 9 IN 30 MINUTES”

The staff announces. “We better get ready.” I said and we all did get ready for our performance within the 30 minutes given.

“STRAY KIDS! STRAY KIDS! STRAY KIDS!”

Our fans cheered after the performance. We bowed thanking them before escorted down the stage back to our waiting room.

“I can’t believe we finally debuted!” WooJin cheered. “We need to pamper ourselves with lots of foods~” Han says jumping up and down.

“Really lots of food!” Hyunjin agrees. I can’t help smiling as it was a rough one getting these two to get along. “So what shall we eat then?” Changbin asks.

“Let’s go to the vending machine then!” Seungmin suggests but already pulls Joy and Jeongin along with him. “Oi! Wait for me!” Felix jumps a little running along which got me chuckling a little.

“Congratulations on your debut!”

We are then surprised by the Twice members. “SUNBAENIM!” The remaining of us stood up and bowed to them coming in. “1…2…3…4…5…6…where’s your maknaes?” JiHyo counts before asking me.

“They are hanging around the vending machine, getting drinks for us all.” I shyly explained. “At least your maknaes do that” JiHyo says giving Dahyun, ChaeYoung and Tzuyu the teasing smirk

“WE’RE BACK!”

The 4 are soon back and bowed to the Twice members the moment they saw them.

“So you must be Joy! So adorable~” Sana right away runs to Joy hugging her like hugging a teddy bear, making Joy blush really hard.

“Alright Sana” Jeongyeon and Momo pulled Sana out of the hug causing her to pout at the two. “So whose older? Jeongin or Joy?” Sana then asks me.

“Jeongin” I pointed to Jeongin who responded with a smile. “She’s more adorable than me!! AHHHHHH!!” Dahyun squealed hugging Joy.

This gotten Joy, much to my surprise, going to Manager Kim for hugs. Kim just chuckles hugging her. “She must be tired out.” Kim chuckles as Joy rubs her eyes.

“Truthfully after all, she’s still very young” Nayeon nods her head understanding. After a while of chatting, the Twice members leave and we all prepared heading back to the dorms.

“HYUNG!!”

Seungmin and Han whines when I put that sleepy girl beside me. “At least she sleeps better with me than you two being like people that are high on sugar” I said putting earphones in Joy’s ear.

Halfway through the drive, I felt a light drop that I see Joy falling asleep on my shoulder.

‘Why does she looks cute sleeping like that?’ I softly smile as I picked her off the seat and hug her close to me.

Putting her head close on my shoulder and patting the back of her head so she can sleep better. Seungmin and Han gave me the glares but I just roll my tongue back at them.

I immediately put Joy on her bed the moment we reached the dorms. I pulled the blankets over her and gave her her plushies so she can sleep better.

‘Sleep better Joy, happy debut’ I smiled pecking her on the forehead before getting up and leaving the room quietly by closing the door so she will get some proper sleep in the midst of chaos outside.

The guys and I decide to enter in and have a look in what’s in the bag. “Salad again? Didn’t she just had this recently after the survival show? The XL one.” Han softly points out.

“Please do something about this” They all looked at me. “Let me think about how to talk about this to her.” I respond before walking to my room to continue my work and thinking about how to talk this little ninja.

I decide to talk to her like she is human. 'I guess that's what she will hope most here?' I think to myself before focusing on my work

-The Next Day-

I didn't get much sleep but I had to be awake for dance practice so I go help myself with an energy drink while seeing Joy eating the food from the bag and drinking her coffee

"How was sleep?" I ask her. "Good" She stretches her arms before eating her food.

"Good." I say. "Want some ham slices?" I took the chance asking her. She shook her head eating.

"Okay." I say. I soon got out my breakfast and sat opposite her. "I was wondering" I spoke up after a while cause this silence is weird for me.

"Yeah?" She looks at me asking. "Tell me more about yourself." I say. "How do I begin...after coming here...I was rejected from SM cause of my age and trained at Pledis for 3 years." She scratches her head saying

I just sit there and listen. "I didn't expect to finally debut which is all I'm proud of." She says. “Good.” I say with a smile.

"People don't know much that I'm actually born in Taiwan but I grew up in the States." She whispers with a soft giggle. I giggle as well. "I will be too" I said. "But how did you get scouted here?" I then asked her.

"6 months after leaving Pledis, funny CEO took Twice to my brother's place, I was working there and he scouted me right away for auditions." She chuckles explaining.

“That’s cool.” I say. 'The CEO must have like her skills much.' I think to myself amazed.

Everybody is soon up and settled, we headed for dance practice. "Woooooo! I'm psyched!" I cheered while watching what Lee Know had choreographed.

Felix just chuckles at me. "This will portray us as a group in the best way possible." Woojin cheers.

We agree and after a while, we get to it. "Jeongin. Too slow." Hyunjin points out again Jeongin's dance

“Sorry.” Jeongin apologies. We did the formation again. We each of course made our respective mistakes.

"How about we try practicing in our units? Or maybe we can separate in mixed units with one DanceRacha taking charge?" Joy suddenly suggests

We all nod. I arranged in a way I, Woojin can learn from Minho. Jeongin and Changbin can learn from Hyunjin while the rest can learn from Felix so we can prevent another conflict.

To my shock, the suggestion from Joy did work and we have our formation perfect after 2 hours

“That was easy.” I say in a huge relief. We soon got about the first half of the song, taking a short break. "Who wants some food?" I asked.

"How about we head to the cafe and grab the food?" Changbin suggests

“Sure.” We all agree. "One, two, three, four...forty five?!" I gasped in shock counting how many cafe coupons I have gotten from the female trainees

Joy walks over and gives me another 5. “Wow.” I say. “I have been saving the tickets because I’ve been eating from my brother’s place.” She explains softly.

“Ah Okay.” I say understanding. "Just save some for yourself as well okay?" I tell her as I picked her up while we're leaving for the company cafe

She nods and we are all soon at the cafe. "Organic Carbonara is on the menu today" The staff tells us

“I want that.” Han says. We all decided to have the carbonara. "This is yummy lovely" I cheered having a bite of the noodles

Felix nods, agreeing. We soon have everything finished and went back to practicing till the evening sun sets.

Chan’s POV

“My group is to become a co-ed group?!”

I looked at the CEO in shock. “We’re debuting as 3Racha soon though…” Changbin looks at Han and I confused

"Its only one." He says chuckling. “I’m not asking you to add ten dozen girls.” He adds on.

“I just feel some girls in the company may match your group vibe more than a girl group vibe” He then explains

"And this girl is?" I ask him. “One is Shin Ryujin.” He says. ‘What a bull, I know Ryujin is too important for your upcoming girl group’ I think to myself when he says Ryujin

“Another is that feisty ex-Pledis trainee Joy Peh.” He says. "Peh? From taiwan?" Han asks. “Yes that VERY American girl.” He nods his head saying

"Okay. We will meet her." Changbin says. “Where’s she?” I asked him.

“Her favourite class at the moment: Singing” He says. We walk around and find the female vocal class. To our shock, Miss Lee is freaking her guts out as we walked to the door.

“Joy…oh Joy…be more ladylike please! You can’t be watching Power Rangers forever…”

She says cringing. “Well I like watching Power Rangers, adults shows are not my style.” That Joy girl tells her back

"Okay." She says as she turns to us sighing and giving in. “Wanna get whooped on your throats?” Miss Lee asks us teasingly

"No. We just came to talk to Joy." I say. “Regarding?” She asks us further as that Joy looks like she is in her own world where nobody can push her out of

"CEO wanted us to come." I add on. “Joy~” She then walks to Joy taking her iPod from her.

“My iPod!!” Joy tries to jump and get her phone but she’s too short. Han and Changbin are softly giggling in the meanwhile

"You have visitors." She tells Joy. “Are they bad people?” She asks Miss Lee that got us quietly laughing

"No. Not bad." She reassures her. Joy then agrees and walks with her to us.

Both sides greet each other. “I will leave you guys to-you want me to stay?” Miss Lee is about to excuse herself when Joy just pulls the hems of her shirt

Joy nods her head. "Very well." Miss Lee says staying. “We have an important question to ask you okay?” I asked her in English.

“You don’t need to talk to me in English, I can understand Korean.” She replies back in Korean.

"Okay...Do you want to be a member of our group?" I ask her in korean. She nods her head but then looks at us.

“Before I join, will the CEO allow? I thought we can’t choose our groups here?” She asks us wondering

"He is the one who told us to ask you." I say. She thinks a little before nodding her head. “Okay I will join you guys.” She nods her head agreeing.

We all nod. "Cool." We say. “Can I have my iPod back please?” Joy then asks Miss Lee

"Only if you listen." Miss Lee tells her. “I will listen Miss Lee” She says. “Fine.” Miss Lee gives in giving her her iPod as she happily continues watching her show.

“Joy is naturally talented in singing but she’s just comes off a little tsundere to other people including myself.” Miss Lee explains to us

"We can tell." Changbin says. “How old is she?” I asked Miss Lee. “I only know she born in 2001. She never talks her age to me.” She answers

"Same age as Jeongin?" Jisung asks me. “I think so.” I said. “Birthday?” I asked. “She’s born on 24th September.” She answers

"Jeongin is older." Changbin says. “So like the rest, she will live with the group in the dorms?” Miss Lee asks.

“Yes. And what’s Joy doing in her break?”

The CEO walks in asking. “Power Ranger shows as always…” Miss Lee sighs. "Can we stop judging her on what she likes?" I ask. “Okay sorry” Miss Lee apologises.

“FUNNY CEO!!”

Joy looks up cheering before putting her iPod and running to the CEO. “Am I debuting?” She asks him excitedly

He nods. “Now, how about the singing class stop for the day and you go look at your new dorm?” He then suggests to her

She nods, smiling. “Your stuff will be taken to the dorms. Now run along and get along” He tells her

She is the first to leave as we help clean up the room. “She’s certainly boyish but cute” Han says as we clean up. I nod, agreeing. Joy somehow help up and we get everything done instantly

"Thank you everyone." Miss Lee says. “No worries see you Miss Lee” I waved to her as Joy just run and give her a hug

"Alright kid. Go get to know your new group members." She tells her. Joy just nod her head leaving with us.

The trip was one silent trip. Other than saying hi, Joy was on her iPod, still watching her Power Rangers

Soon we are back at the dorm. “Awwww this girl is so cuteeeee!!” Felix squeals. "Whats your name?" Hyunjin asks her. “Joy” She says turning to the back and show her name on the pink hoodie.

"Thats a beautiful name." Hyunjin comments. “How old are you?” Felix asks her. “2001. 17 in Korean age?” Joy replies scratching her head shyly.

"Same age?" Jeongin asks. “What month you born in?” Joy asked him

"February." He says. “September” She says. "Maknae!" He says. “What languages you can speak?” I asked.

“Korean, English, Chinese, Japanese” She answers. "Woah! Amazing!" We all say. “Do I get my own room though?” She then asks us

The ceo nods showing her the room. “I can’t wait to know this girl!” Jeongin says excited. "Same here!" Seungmin says.

“She is interesting.” I said. Everyone nods, agreeing. The CEO then comes out of the room. “Joy is tired so she’s taking a nap. I can give you guys some information if you all are interested.” He says

"Thank you but we can ask her ourselves." I tell him. “Sure” He nods his head understanding before he excused himself taking his leave

"Who wants me to cook?" I ask everyone. We raised our hands agreeing. I cook something and put it bowels. I put some in a nowel and place it in the microwave for Joy.

“Good?” I asked them. They all nod. "Good." I say to them. After dinner, everybody went to sleep except Han, Changbin and I. "What a day." Han says.

“Joy is surely going to be one tough nut to crack.” Changbin says. "I like a challenge." I say. Han and Changbin looked at me in shock. "Yes?" I ask them.

“You like a challenge?” Han asks me in shock. "Yes." I say. “Joy will surely going to be a joyful challenge to be with” I chuckled before we decided to go to the studio to work on our unit debut.

Joy’s POV

“So you wanna rob our money again?”

I folded my arms angrily at Ahram making a scene of my place again. “Or you coming back for more?” She turns around asking me with a smirk.

“LAY YOUR FINGER ON MY SISTER AND YOU WILL REGRET IT!!” My brother shouts while everybody is trying to calm him down

“Don’t lay a finger on anyone! Ahram just leave!” Sieun tell her. Ahram just scoff before leaving, glaring at me while at the door

“There will be more to come, runaway rich girl”

She whispers to me with the smirk leaving. ‘We will wait and see Suh Ahram’ I looked at her leaving.

“Joy you should wait for us next time!” Chan tells me the moment he catches up with me. I just feel more guilty after Sieun just excuses herself for some fresh air with Felix tailing after her.

“Just packet me the salad, I will eat later.” I tell Kyujae before excusing myself to the toilet while actually I’m going to my room.

I did get a short nap, until everybody is shouting for Felix which make me remember he’s with Sieun.

So I immediately took my phone calling Sieun, thank goodness she answered. “I’m sorry Sieun” I apologised the moment she picked up

“Its fine, I will be back soon.” She says. “Is Felix with you? We have no idea what he wants to eat” I then ask her.

“Yes.” She says and the call soon ended. I just continue napping after that.

Seungmin’s POV

Soon, Felix and Sieun back with Felix ordering his food. “Where’s Joy?” We then noticed Joy is gone. “She said she went to the toilet.” Kyujae explained.

“Sure the toilet trip wouldn’t be that long.” Chan said. “Is it just me or this restaurant is a little strange?” Jeongin whispers quietly asking. “I don’t know” I whispered

Sieun somehow also excuses herself. “Isn’t the toilet there?” Felix points out that we realise the direction to the toilet is different from the direction Sieun took.

“Maybe the guys and girls toilet are different?” I guessed. A while after, Sieun and Joy came out. Kyujae gave Joy something.

“Thanks” Joy thanked him taking the bag. When we returned she just puts in the fridge and went to bed early.

A Different Kind Of Joy (SKZ Female Member) Chapter 17

Joy’s POV

I like the demo and was practicing my parts which I’ve usually done for about everything I’ve done with the group so far.

Though I really feel bad for most of the group, District 9 is higher than Hellevator in key. ‘Chan I guess is really good at breaking the limits. Wonder how the funny CEO thinks of it?’ I think to myself while grabbing everything for practice.

I just practice for one hour and just grab about every lemon and honey available to make lemon honey for everybody especially the rest of the VocalRacha

‘The organic ones. Good for throat.’ I smiled digging all the lemons and honey out. Felix then walked in the kitchen in shock.

“Erm…what are you doing?” He asks me scratching his head.

“Honey Lemon” I smiled squeezing the lemons. “Honey lemon? Nice!” He says with a small giggle.

“Honey lemon’s good for the throat. Can’t wait to try it.” He says before asking if he needs any help.

“It’s okay I can manage myself.” I kindly rejected him. “Okay I will leave you to it! Hwaiting!” He cheers before skipping out cutely which make me giggle softly while I continue the many lemons.

Seungmin’s POV

“No! No! Jeongin! Jeongin!”

Chan was guiding Jeongin on his part while Felix accidentally walks himself in. “Sorry” he apologises shyly as just he about to leave, the smell of honey lemon stopped everything.

“Whose cooking? The managers?” WooJin asks him. “It’s Joy making honey lemon.” Felix explains. “Oh nice! Honey lemon! Is anything helping her?” I ask him.

“Erm no? I don’t think she needs help, she seems to know what she is doing.” Felix shake his head answering.

“I can’t wait to try!” Chan cheered and as I want to go to check on Joy but stopped myself.

‘I can’t wait to see what else she can do.’ I smile, getting unusually motivated for the honey lemon so I continue practicing by the window until I saw an unusual sight we have on the neighbourhood.

‘What are so many doing in the middle of the night? Wouldn’t they afraid people will get suspicious?’ I think looking at the hooded men at the park but I decided to ignore them and continue practicing.

After practicing for a while more, I heard the honey lemon was ready so we all went to have a drink.

“Yum~” Everybody was happy drinking it. ‘This is yummy’ I smiled drinking a cup. “This will be a good recipe for charity,” Kim comments drinking hers.

“We will need to get more honey and lemon soon cause apparently I kinda used them all.” Joy shyly admits drinking hers.

“We can get them in the grocery soon since you all will be busy soon.” Lee says.

And after we finished drinking, we went to bed early with the managers shouting like drill commanders.

-The Next Day-

Chan’s POV

“Ohhhh! Honey Lemon! Ahhhhhh! Thank you Joy~ You’re so sweet~”

1Take thanked Joy when she offered him a small flask of yesterday’s honey lemon. “Have it while it’s still warm.” Joy bows saying.

“I will.” He ruffles her hair smiling as I gave Joy the snack box again so she can have some snacks.

“She’s cute, different yet talented, be careful of your job” 1Take whispered me jokingly. “I’m not scared” I whispered back giggling before we get the members to start recording.

Joy was first with the scissors-paper-stone game everybody is playing. She’s surprisingly good cause she manages to record everything that required for the song in one take.

“WOW. I can’t even sing that well at 16-17 years old.” 1Take looks at me amazed. “You will kill me 2-3 years ago.” I joked back.

“Where can I-EH?!” She was about to ask when I just happily pressed the buttons to release her from the booth. “You can come out now~” 1Take sings to her like a child.

“Okay then?” Joy scratches her head before taking her things and walking out. We did laugh for a little cause that’s so cute.

Soon, it was Jeongin’s turn, Jeongin did well in his second try after some guidance from Changbin and then Seungmin and WooJin whom both did well on their first go.

“Music to my ears~” 1Take smiles. After recording everybody’s else, we’re heading for the restaurant for some food when Joy suddenly runs faster than us seeing the door opened.

Seungmin, Han and Felix immediately went after her. “Did something happened?” Hyunjin asks me worried as the three went ahead. “I hope not.” I said trying to pace myself as well.

Felix’s POV

“Let me show you kids the demo for District 9”

Chan says as we sit around a circle at the lounge room. After everybody is gathered, he starts playing the demo.

I can see Joy is very deep in her thoughts when the song is played. ‘I wonder what she’s thinking?’ I think to myself. “How’s everybody feeling?” Chan asks.

The rest of the VocalRacha members are looking at each other looking intimidated while Joy pointed out something nobody noticed.

“This song’s key is higher than than Hellevator” Joy points out and Chan immediately claps his hand pointing at Joy.

“Smart!” He says. “ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL US?!” The male VocalRacha members looked at him in shock. ‘This kid is not only feisty but also smart.’ I think to myself impressed.

“I don’t think I’m killing you guys.” Chan chuckles. “It’s mean more training, take it as a challenge.” Chan reassures them and they just nod their heads with a pout.

“Come on, cheer up!” He pat their backs cheering. After seeing they smiling a little, we distributed the parts and went to master our parts especially 1Take will be supervising which will be a lot of hell paying.

“Let’s practice my part~” I softly said to myself going to my room practicing my rap. “Korean book” I picked about everything I needed to learn my rap.

Then I looked at my window by accident to see a group of hooded guys looking towards our dorms with binoculars.

‘That’s weird but maybe it could be the neighbours?’ I think to myself before I get working on my rap.

Nobody’s POV

The group of 13 hooded guys look at Joy with binoculars as she practices her parts with the windows closed.

“I wonder how she’s doing.” The small one pouted. “I missed eating at Mike Hyung’s place.” One with the gentleman voice sighs.

“You miss? I don’t think Mike Hyung misses us” The one with the pigeon face says. “Joshua clearly has forgotten what we’re warned with” The one with the angel face says as they remembered their encounter with Joy’s brother just hours ago. ~FLASHBACK~ “Let me find any of you from Pledis near my place and especially my sister, you guys are DONE FOR!” ~•••~ “Yoon JeongHan, how do we know Dokyeom’s cousin, your cousin and SCoups’ sister almost killed the two while were promoting AHJU NICE?” Joshua says to the angel face guy

“But we need to do something before the CEO tries getting his hands on the recording Joy had…” SCoups says worried.

“I don’t think we can really do anything, Joy already at the final debut doesn’t even see us existing anymore.” The small one reminds them.

“I rather her forgetting then remembering.” The one with the puffy cheeks pouted which got everybody looking at him confused that he ends up bursting into tears

“You all don’t understand, she will get hurt remembering too much!”

Joy’s POV

“WE FINALLY DEBUTED!!”

Changbin cheered when we head back to the waiting room after it was being announced that we are all debuting together as a full team.

Chan was in a lot of relief and everybody else is cheering. “We are ALL ONE AGAIN! I’m so happy~” Chan just ends up tearing up a little.

“Awwwww everything is okay now~” WooJin says as we all gave him the big hug. After the group hug, Manager Kim comes in saying that we will be going to my house there to eat. Okay…it’s a restaurant but technically I also live there so it’s my house also.

“Let’s go!!” Everybody cheered then Seungmin carries me. I was a little startled at first.

“I guess you also need the hugs?” He chuckles a little and I just end up hugging him, letting him carrying me to the van.

“Our Joy is so adorable and precious~” He puts me on the seat beside him smiling. “Oh yes she is~” Chan also agrees with him pinching my cheeks.

After a while, we reached my place and my sister-in-law Kyujin welcomes everybody as usual while I run to my best-friend-of-all-time, Sieun for a bear hug.

"Happy?" She ask me. I nod my head smiling. "Today is gonna be a blast!!" The guys cheered.

We all then take our seats and order our food. "Today's all on the CEO so get them the best of the best." The CEO's secretary tells Kyujin.

She nods her head and went to send our food to the kitchen. “You’re a rabbit at night!” The secretary laughed about my salad order in which the rest also did.

“At least it has what I loved!” I rolled my tongue at the secretary that got everybody laughing.

After that, we had our food and before we left, I went to hug Sieun cause I will be missing this hug for quite some time.

She tells me and I nodded my head before waving to her and leaving with my members.
