Today I'm bring to your dash the Afghan festival of Nau Roz/Nowruz/Nauroz/Navroz.

Nau Roz is the Persian New Year and celebrates the start of Spring (in the northern hemisphere), so usually falls around March 21st.

The celebrations last for 13 days and there are many traditions that vary from region to region, but some common ones are spring cleaning, symbolic preparations with fire and water, such as jumping over fire or carrying fire torches, and the Haft-Seen table.

The Haft-Seen table, or the table of seven things that start with the letter S, usually starts by spreading a special family cloth on the table, and then it is followed by placing the seven S items. These can include:

Sirkeh (vinegar): Represents age and patience that often comes with ageing

Sikkeh (coin):  For wealth and prosperity

Seer (garlic): For good health

Seeb (apples): For health and natural beauty

Sabzeh (wheat): For rebirth, renewal and good fortune

Samanu (wheat pudding): A sweet dessert for wealth, fertility and the sweetness of life

Sumac (berries): For the sunrise and the celebration of a new day

Besides these elements, the table might also include a mirror to symbolically reflect the past year, painted eggs to represent fertility, a goldfish to represent new life, and candles to show light and happiness.

A variety of food dishes are prepared during the festivity, but “ash-e resteh” or noodle soup is usually served. Special sweets, including baklava and sugar-coated almonds, are also believed to bring good fortune and are shared during the celebration. Other dishes include fish served with special rice with green herbs and spices, symbolising nature in spring.

Nowruz is celebrated by more than 300 million people worldwide!

entirely random, but what order were Horror, Dust, and Killer yoinked by the gods?

for yoinked by the gods im going with nightmare yoinking them for this!!! those 3 were also technically affected by other gods but,,, nightmare would be the primary god who i mean. literally did take them so-

the first was killer! nightmare was wandering about late at night some point after the 'incident' and found killer bleeding out in an alleyway. nightmare wasnt really intending on doing anything about it at first but well,,, nightmare saw something in them that felt too familiar...

the second was actually horror!!! horror was touched by a previous god before being 'yoinked' (i need a better word for this-) by nightmare, but nightmare is the god he is properly 'under'. nightmare discovered horror, being the only survivor of a cult town that attempted ahem. not great shit!!!. horror had somewhat escaped the town before but really had no where to go, so accepted nightmares invitation.

dust was third! nightmare actually had to track dust down somewhat. she discovered part of dusts 'story' and decided she wanted to find where he was being kept and free him from it, bringing him into nightmares group!!

i will go more into detail about their like,, stories n stuff if ppl r curious but ye!!!

I have a draft about it! You can imagine Everything Goes Terribly Wrong, haha:

Es and Silv wanted a small wedding with like Vector, Charmy, and maybe Sonic and Blaze there... and thus legit the entire friend group got invited instead. As my draft notes say: "And with that I mean they slapped a bowtie on Omega and made him come too."

Amy got asked to be the wedding planner to accommodate for that change and she promptly goes ballistic making it the Best Possible Wedding Ever. Espio is having regrets asking her.

Charmy was made the ring bearer, so naturally he loses the rings in the stupidest way possible. Que Vector hosting a mass investigation to get them back, driving all the guests insane and also not really getting anywhere.

Silver meanwhile is VERY excited leading up to the wedding but on the day itself he's just like "whoa this is kinda big actually it's so official all of a sudden" and Sonic all but kidnaps him (again) to give him a pep talk and tell him there's very little that'll actually change in their lives. Which means that one of the to-be-wed, kind of a necessity for a wedding, is gone and missing.

Espio now has to deal with having WAY too many people around, Amy's micromanaging, lost rings, an accidentally-runaway groom, and his own nerves, and thus is getting equally overwhelmed by it all.

Eventually all turns out alright, the rings are found (Charmy probably just held the pillow upside down or something), our grooms can say their vows and kiss, and then they are married!!💕 And promptly they take a GOOD two hours or so just for themselves to recover from all this XD But despite all the chaos, it is absolutely one of the best days of their lives, and they're happy they did it in such a way. And the reception and party afterwards and stuff goes a lot more smoothly now that everything has gone wrong before the actual wedding itself, haha!

Today I'm bring to your dash the Albanian festival of Dita e Verës!

Dita e Verës ('Day of Summer') is a Pagan holiday, as well as a Spring festival celebrating the end of winter. It falls on March 14th.

The distinctive sign of this holiday is Ballokume, a sugar cookie (pictured above and below) made from Albanian corn. Spring imagery is also a large part of the festival.

During this festival, Albanians often wear a red and white wool bracelet, called a Verore, to celebrate the beginning of Summer. Bonfires are lit all over the country to both celebrate the Sun's strength and further strengthen it. It has a strong family as well as traditional atmosphere.

The most important celebrations happen in the city of Elbasan, one of the largest cities in Albania. There are parades, concerts, bonfires and other celebrations all throughout the town to celebrate the start of Spring
