ffxiv friends, does anyone inhabit a nice fc which is based around casual roleplay of pretty much any description? (excepting yakuza and other crime themes, no interest in those really)

drop links and stuff! i'm interested in lots of different things and have two characters on mateus looking for a home, and one on goblin who i can move as and when things allow him to move. my char on goblin is my main but i server hop lots.

The Calamity had wreaked destruction all over Eorzea, causing gaping holes filled with pain and loss not only in the peoples hearts but also in the continents landscape. The Shroud, Tehmi's home, was no exception to that. On her way home to Gridania, only shortly after the battle at Carteneau, she saw with her own eyes what Dalamuds shards and the following fires had caused.

A pitiful whimper lead her off her path and into the undergrowth, where a small fox cub was mourning over it's dead mother's corpse. Tehmi knelt down and to her surprise the cub did not run away in fear but instead climbed onto her lap seeking comfort. With heartfelt sympathy for the poor creature's fate she decided to take it with her and raise it as good as she could.

am back from da dead everypony. mental health tanked and i lost all desire to even log on to ffxiv, but i'm getting the help i needed and am slowly getting back into the swing of things, and what better way to do so than by doing stupid gposes LMAO

this short set features some members of my fc! here gravy's still got the isekai trope but is from alexandria with other key differences, but is still just as dumb and goofy as regular!gravy TEEHEE. she's also still madly in love with elezens ehhehHEHEH

{FFXIV - Free Company Invite Spam}

Disclaimer: I am NOT saying every FC does it, but it is a matter that needs to be addressed. I am also speaking from my own experiences while playing as alt characters in FFXIV.

>The issue

A lot of the invite spam comes from big-number/member Free Companies, the many of them just throw invites to players they see without tags next to their names.

This also comes from Free Companies wanting to be the "largest" in the Data Centers, which... there is absolutely no need for such competition.

They also try to "persuade" with whispers to the player to join them with "we have daily buffs and a discord server!" or similar construction to the private message.

>The Solution

First and foremost, respect when a player declines your invitation, maybe they just are not interested in the moment. There is no need to "collect" to make your member count bigger. Players are not things to collect, there is a living person behind each avatar.

Check their search comments, if they have anything written as "this is an alt, no fc invites please" or similar, respect that they do not want their alt character in an FC right now.

Instead of whispering an advertisement as to why they should join your FC, ask them first if they are looking or interested in joining one. Not only is this more respectful, but you can probably get more insight about what said player may be looking for in an FC ONLY IF they want to join one. Otherwise, if they politely decline, leave it at that.

Not everyone wants to join an FC, and not everyone wants to be just a number for some competitive FC to "increase" their member count.
