Things I noted about the trailer for FFXIV’s upcoming Expac, Dawntrail, that weren’t the obvious:

They never show Alphinaud up close. Unlike the rest of the (former) Scions they show up close. Alphinaud you never see his face, you hear him at the beginning and see the back of him from a distance at the end. • I personally think that he has had his ‘growth spurt’ but they’re trying to keep it a surprise. I notice at the end he’s made to look shorter compared to the ‘WoL’ still  but it looks to me like he’s standing a step or 2 below him to give off that illusion just like Erenville.

They changed the look of the ‘WoL’ character. In every previous trailer for each expac he has always had the same look. This one had a new hair style, styled very differently than in the previous trailers (pulled back in a ponytail), but it matches up to how its gotten progressively longer over each trailer. There also seemed to be something else different about him, but I couldn’t place it. It was almost like it was a different character that’s how different he seemed to me. (maybe it was just the new hairstyle that made him look so different, idk lol)

I’m also very curious to know what job he was fighting as. It didn’t seem like a job we already have. Which is different from previous trailers. Previously they depicted him as a job we already had available, except for the brief showing of him as a Samurai in Stormblood. Leaving out ARR, in Heavensward he started off as a Warrior and then Dragoon, Stormblood a Monk (for most of the video), Shadowbringers they had him go through all his previous jobs in past trailers and ending in Dark Knight, and then Endwalker he was a Paladin. The outfit they have him wearing looks almost swashbuckle’ry (very reminiscent of like Will Turner’s outfit in Pirates of the Caribbean)

I've been saying the WoL needs a vacation arc since Shadowbringers - and Dawntrail is looking like exactly that! I'm so beyond hyped for 7.0!
