what goes into a circlet ? is it an orator thing ?
Orator circlets are unique to each faction!!
They’re similar to crowns in both function and beauty: they’re a mark of status, and of wealth. If a faction is interacting with another, the orators will commonly don their circlets. It’s a very simple, easy display of power. And the construction of a circlet varies from each faction!
For the Woodruffians, and their culture that highly values physical action + battle, their circlets get lost and replaced pretty commonly. The current circlet was made for Songfall, and passed down to Rainfall. The circlet beforehand was deemed as “cursed”, as it was worn by Pineheart, Doedance before him, and Oakstrike; it was thrown away. Their circlets are commonly made of tree branches, brambles, berries and the feathers of birds of prey! They’re also commonly adorned with the claws and teeth of other predators. Rainfall’s is so barren solely because it’s very very new.
The Moorsweepers have had a singular circlet, traced back all the way to their Founder. It is ancient, chipped and tattered, but it is carefully kept-up with a point of pride and grand history amongst their cats. It is crafted out of a massive, ancient stag’s antlers, adorned with dried crops and smaller gems. It sports the biggest shard of the Starstone of the other circlets. They are incredibly protective of their circlet, to the point of where it is only donned for ceremonial purposes; it will not be taken into battle. As such, it’s also a lot more fragile and aesthetically-oriented than the circlets of other factions; lots of dangling bits lol. During the Moorswept Massacre, Dreamtongue stole it; as of the third tome of Ignite, it is still within the Fenland’s possession.
For the Fenlanders, their circlets are tied to their current ruling bloodline. Cedarstep, Raggedclaw and Dreamtongue had the same circlet with the same shard, but upon Slugpelt’s rise, an entirely new circlet was created for him and whatever future his bloodline might hold. Bones and small prey skulls are commonly incorporated into their circlets, as well as marshland plants and venom-drained snake fangs.
The Riverwardens create a new circlet for every new orator, and as such, their shards tend to be the smallest. Their circlets are highly decorated, but easily lost, as they tend to blend into the other shiny possessions that they hold dear + getting swept away in the water + stolen by the Rafters. They’re typically woven out of materials such as willow fronds and branches, reeds, and cattails, and decorated with shells, scales, fins, and greenery/plants sourced from the river. They’ve also been known to decorate their circlets with herbs!

Deerfoot Refresher
wdym by “catching deerfoot” ? i have a vague memory of deerfoot having a gorey death in BF but don’t remember completely
@figgybeans
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Deerfoot from Warrior Cats. He is a solid brown cat with yellow eyes, long whiskers, and dark brown paws, tail tip, and mustache. His upper lip is slightly cleft, permanently showing his front teeth. He's drinking some sort of pink liquid refresher from a glass with a straw.]
Deerfoot is a ShadowClan warrior who has opposed Thistle Law since Brokenstar took power. He's a son of Lizardstripe and Mudfoot, and the brother of Tangleburr and Runningnose.
He was actually one of my first reduxes so I'm super fond of the whole Mudlizard family lmao
Him and Tangleburr are the "two halves" of ShadowClan symbolically. Tangleburr immediately threw her weight behind Runningnose and Brokenstar and enthusiastically supported every campaign they engaged with. Deerfoot meanwhile was working with Nightpelt to plan the coup.
How did he not die during Runningnose's Plague? Maybe he got lucky. Maybe Runningnose couldn't bring himself to kill his brother. In any case, when TigerClan rolled around, Deerfoot did as Deerfoot does and organized the rebels once more.
He meets his end after helping Mistyfoot, Featherpaw, and Stormpaw escape to safety. He was the only cat captured in the 'Great Escape', and refused to snitch on any of his accomplices, paying with his life.
Because of his actions, Reedwhisker, Mosspelt, Stumptail, Mudfur, Jaggedtooth, and others were never discovered as rebels. He saved them all with this sacrifice.

how about -burr or -thorn as suffixes ?
Let’s start with -burr ;)
•─────⋅ᓚᘏᗢ⋅─────•
Suffix: -burr
Basic Meanings:
The suffix “-burr” represents a cat who is notably irritable, patient, down-to-earth, and with distinctively long, tangled, or matted fur.
(A personality suffix; can also be a physical suffix.)
Reasoning:
Burrs (or sandburs, as I’m personally most familiar with) are grassy weeds that grow spiky spurs that oftentime get caught on clothing, furs, and other plants that are, in turn, incredibly difficult to remove.
Coincidental Traits:
Cats with this suffix also tend to have poor personal hygiene.
Notes:
A very uncommon suffix due to its very specific traits, alongside how generally negative it’s meanings encompass.
See Also:
-thorn
-briar
-bush

how would you rank the Fealties in terms of your fave to least fave ?
does the list differ from cannon clans ?
Ohhh that’s such a difficult question…
For the fealty factions, it would go:
(Narratively) Moorswept, Woodruff, Fenland and Riverward are tied
(Conceptually) Fenland, Moorswept, Riverward, Woodruff
But for the canon Clans? Hardcore: SkyClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan, WindClan, ThunderClan

is there any specific geographical location you picked for the setting, or is it just a hodge-podge of species ?
It’s definitely more of a hodgepodge scenario, but in terms of geographics and weather and what not, I do imagine the fortress valley specifically to be located somewhere along the border that Canada shares with the US.
It’s really only flowers that you’ll find crossing odd borders. Otherwise, I try to keep most of the species of other plants, animals, etc close to where they might be found! ^^

what’s the most gruesome death you have planned ? (don’t need to name the cat if that’s spoiler-y)
Oohhhh….
Not even trying to be annoying or “mysterious” or anything here, but I sincerely don’t know… There’s a lot of gruesome deaths within OFND.
Depends on your definition of “gruesome”, I suppose.
