↷ SUMMARY ↶
People need to watch what they say because it will sometimes bite them back the least they expected–leaving a damage worth hundred times more.
If Oikawa wasn’t having the best mood, then everyone expected mutiny like this happened–him channeling all of his frustration in his jump serves. Not just one, not just two, the whole trolley of volleyball will be finished by him alone–and still not enough.
It was pure raw strength–the ball ricochet and the loud sound it produced once it slammed to the ground was no joke. The first years and second years was hesitant to remind him not to push himself too much, somehow knowing if they did that they will feel the spare of his wrath.
Only third years and the coach could throw hands in this matter.
Practice was over almost an hour ago and Oikawa wouldn’t be stopping soon. Iwaizumi was gripping the ball in his hands a little too tight–signaling that he was indeed in the brink of exploding himself. Maybe around the next minute there will be chaos.
“Tooru, practice is over. We need to go home,” that’s where [Name]’s duty lies. As a manager, it was necessary for her to take care of the members and remind them not to overwork.
Being ignored by the said brunette was expected–this happened countless of times back in their middle school days and somehow didn’t change. She hoped to evade violence as much as she could, especially when Iwaizumi doesn’t use words and proceeded to punch the lights out of Oikawa instead.
“Tooru, your knee is injured,” she said again. “The doctor said about not putting too much pressure on it. It’s time to stop.”
The third time’s the charm, she prayed. Sighing harshly from the lack of respond and on-going rebellion forced her to grabbed onto Oikawa’s arm. “Tooru-“
“Can’t you just shut up for once!?” he yanked his arm away with a harsh bat. Facing her with pure anger apparent on his face was something usual–however, it still brought her shoulders tensed up from the pure fury shone from those brown eyes. “Shut up and leave me alone! Isn’t that simple enough to do!?”
“Oikawa,” Iwaizumi already growled with the same intensity of anger, marching towards the two as he rolled his sleeve. There will be unavoidable fist fight and then more problem will ensue.
“Stop it, Hajime,” [Name] stated sternly, placing a hand on his shoulder. “If you two got into fight, you’ll be banned from practice for the whole week. Coach made it extremely clear about fighting between teammates.”
She wasn’t even joking about it and both Oikawa and Iwaizumi knew, which was why with a click of his tongue the brunette began gathering the balls in fast pace. After he finished tidying up, he went straight towards the exit–slamming the door shut.
“He needs to cool down for some time,” [Name] remarked, loud enough to be heard by the whole members left behind. “So, just leave him alone for now. Until he decides to talk like he used to, let him be.”
“Y-yes, senpai…”
                                                           ✎ . . . .
“WHAT!?” and the first minute of practice started with an unexpected chaos from the most least person who’s likely did so. The whole team instantly had their attention zeroed on their assistant coach, Coach Mizoguchi. Not only that, Coach Irihata had his eyes widened in disbelief. In front of the two was their manager standing.
“Do you need a break?” the older man questioned, eyes radiating worry. The reply he got was a head shook from their manager. There was pregnant silence before the coach continued. “Are you sure? Isn’t it the best to get some rest?”
A head shook became an answer, which made Coach Irihata sighed in defeat–probably relenting on her insistence on something. “Alright, but if you’re not feeling well somehow just tell me and you’re excused to go home.”
“Everyone, gather around!” Coach Mizoguchi called out, and automatically they left their activities behind to line up in front of their coaches and manager. Once the man studied all of them to made sure they were all gathered, he started with a sigh. “We have an unfortunate thing happens.”
“Your manager can’t speak at the moment,” Coach Irihata didn’t want to beat around the bush and decided to straight up telling the whole team the truth.
“Uhm, what do you mean Coach…?” Iwaizumi asked slowly, trying to comprehend the statement from before.
“Apparently, your manager lost her voice.” The older man repeated. “And for the time being, she will communicate with all of you using her notebook.”
There was silence that befall the gym for a few minutes before chaos ensued.
“WHAT!?”
“How did that happen!?”
“Are you okay, Otohaku-senpai!?”
“But that doesn’t mean she’s not participating in practice or anything, she will do her work as usual.” Coach Irihata continued, his words successfully got the team’s shrieks of disbelief under control. “That’s why, if I found out that somehow you’re troubling your manager, there will be drills to compensate. Do I make myself clear?”
Series of gulps could be heard from the subtle threat looming over. “U-Understood, Coach…”
“Now, dismiss!”
                                                          ✎ . . . .
“Oi, are you sure you’re okay?” Iwaizumi was the first one to ask, however he was followed by the others almost immediately once the coach told them that it’s break time. Giving them already-filled water bottles was [Name]’s duty, and he thought it was a great time to begin questioning. “Shouldn’t you be home and getting bed rest of something?”
After handing the Ace his bottle, [Name] automatically reached out for the notebook in her jacket pocket. Opening an empty page, she began scribbling for some time then shoving the object onto Iwaizumi’s face.
‘I’m fine. There’s no fever or anything. In fact, I feel normal besides losing my ability to speak.’
“Do you have a doctor’s appointment for this?” Matsukawa questioned next.
‘My mom already arranged one. Maybe we’ll go a day after tomorrow.’
“S-senpai,” this time, it was Kindaichi. “D-do you maybe do something or eat something that could possibly led to this?’
[Name] hummed soundlessly, contemplating about her junior’s words before she’s back to writing. ‘Nothing in particular. I had dinner like usual, finishing my homework, and sleep normally. Just after I woke up, I realized I couldn’t reply to my mom calling from downstairs.’
“Are you sure you’re alright, senpai?” Watari asked in concern. “Maybe you really should take a short break like the coach suggested…”
‘I’m fine, Watari-kun. This doesn’t hinder my work at all. On the good side, you don’t need to hear my annoying voice-‘
“DON’T SAY THAT!!”
Oikawa’s voice suddenly booming across the gym–startling all of them in the process. Pairs of eyes focused on him and his abruptness.
“I-We love your voice, [Nickname]-chan!” the brunette stated. “You always cheered on us, taking care of us, helping us in team meetings! I know it’s my fault because I told you to shut up, it’s just my anger speaking! I didn’t mean any of those words!”
“Ah, so in the end, it’s your fault,” Iwaizumi smiling, however the aura oozing from his figure was anything but nice. He was out for blood–and the grip he had on the water bottle was borderline dangerous it could break the object.
“I-I didn’t mean to, I swear!” Oikawa shrieked, raising his hands up in surrender. “I’m sorry!”
The vice-captain was absolutely ready to give their captain a good beating, fortunately, a notebook shoved onto Oikawa’s face came to save his day (and probably his life). Holding onto the book carefully, he read every single word written on the surface of the paper.
‘It’s not your fault, Tooru. Sometimes, anger blinds us. I know you don’t mean it, so it’s alright. You have a rough day too, right?’
“[Nickname]-chan!!” in return, he jumped onto their manager–giving her a tight hug, burying his face into her shoulder. She sighed soundlessly at his childish antic but still returning the gesture by patting his back gently.
“So, it’s because of what happened yesterday?” Kunimi concluded. “Could this be karma for Oikawa-san?’
Hanamaki laughed. “You can count it that way.”

Extra [The Next Day]
“Good morning, everyone!”
“OTOHAKU-SENPAI!!”
“Yahaba-san, you’re crying…”
“Let him be, Kunimi. We’re all worried about her, aren’t we?”
“Issei, where do you put the bibs away?”
“Oh, it’s in the box next to the poles. I moved it.”
“[NICKNAME]-CHAN!!!”
“Stop clinging onto our manager, Shittykawa!”
Ah, yes, finally another normal day in practice.

chapter one | chapter two |
Tumblr media
A WEEK HAD PASSED BY after that event where the males volleyball club— or at least for Oikawa Tōru, had known that one of the resident fucklords of the males volleyball club of Aoba Johsai, Matsukawa Issei (also known as the very ridiculous nickname "Mattsun" courtesy by the dumbass named Oikawa Tōru) was dating the student council president, [Last name] [Name].
"Mattsun!!! How does it feel like dating Brickwall-san?!?"
And it seemed like Oikawa Tōru, the oh so perfect male of Aoba Johsai (but resident dumpster trash and alien weirdo for his teammates and friends) was still not over the fact that Issei was dating [Name], or currently known as "Brickwall-san" by the chocolate brown haired male.
Currently, the four third years were in the gym's changing room. The practice for the day was already done and they were in the middle of changing while the rest of the team were already finished since they weren't actually wasting their time. Not like these four, well, three as the black haired ace unfortunately had to keep an eye to the two crackheads and trashy asshole that he call his teammates and friends.
"Are the rumors about him being a good kisser true?!?" Tōru asked without shame whatsoever as the unfortunate best friend of Tōru, Iwaizumi Hajime only let out a tired sigh at the volleyball captain's question.
Hajime was already so done with trying to stop Tōru for asking any more dumb questions as the chocolate brown haired male just couldn't stop. This wasn't his fucking job, goddammit. Iwaizumi Hajime wanted to fucking die right now. What a mood.
Hanamaki Takahiro, who was beside Issei looked at Tōru with a raised brow. The light brown (pink???) haired male mischievous smirked as his eyes shined in a sick sense of amusement. And not far behind him, Issei had that same look of mischievous amusement aswell.
The volleyball team's ace could only let out another tired sigh as he began to rub his temple, feeling the incoming headache already as he muttered curses underneath his breath. This wasn't his fucking job. He wasn't a fucking babysitter goodammit, so why does he have to deal with this bullshit?
"Eh? Why do you want to know?" Takahiro asked as he gave the third year setter a look yet the grin on his lips never leaving nor the amusement in his eyes. "Is Shittykawa interested on Prez?"
"You better not Loserkawa," Issei merely said with a smile, sending the volleyball captain an amused look but his eyes held a small glint of something neither any of the team can pin point what it was. But the volleyball captain felt a shiver down his spine. It was oddly terrifying and Tōru doesn't want to die, thank you very much.
"Wow, someone's territorial," Takahiro quietly snickered as he stopped himself from laughing when his friend had sent him a look and then elbowing him.
It seemed like it took a moment for the third year setter to realized what Takahiro had just said about him liking [Name], and it immediately made Tōru want to gag. The said male let out sputters as Tōru's face bloomed red. Head furiously shaking as he crossed his arms like an "x" formation in his chest.
"H-hah?!? Makki I am not!!!" Tōru screamed. Face horrified as he imagined himself liking the [Hair color] haired male. As if!!! That guy gave him the shivers and not in a cutesy way but the one with creeps!!! "I can't even imagine him even dating anyone!!!"
"Oi, [Last name]-san is literally dating your teammate, Dumbkawa," Hajime had said in annoyance as he punched the chocolate brown haired male on the back of his head. Tōru only cried out in pain as he rubbed his head to ease up the ache he was feeling.
"Wah! Iwa-chan your so mean!"
"Well, Weirdkawa is not wrong," Issei has said as both Tōru and Hajime paused and looked at him, confused while Takahiro laughed at their dumbfounded look aswell as the words coming out of his friend's mouth. "I don't even know how he is dating me," Issei said as he finished buttoning his uniform.
"Mattsun... what?" The chocolate brown haired male managed to said as he looked at the black haired middle blocker with a look of confusion while the said male shrugged his shoulders with a small grin on his lips.
"What? [Name] is still a mystery to me too," Issei had said.
"You both are gay for each other, end of discussion," Takahiro butted in as he then turned to the volleyball captain.
"But Asskawa, why would you ask if he is a good kisser?" Takahiro asked as Issei nodded beside him. Neither of the two didn't mind Tōru crying on the different insulting nickname they used to call him.
"Mattsun, Shittykawa is trying to steal Prez away from you!" The light brown (maybe pink, no one fucking knows) haired male said in very obvious tone of sarcasm yet Tōru didn't seemed to caught on to it that Takahiro was joking. Man, what a dumbass.
"Makki!!! I do not!!!" Tōru cried as he made disgusted faces. Oikawa Tōru seriously doesn't want anything to do with the oh so loved (and also terrifying for most of the Aoba Johsai population) student council president that was [Name].
"You can have him all to yourself Mattsun!!!" Tōru cried as he then yelped in pain when the black haired ace punched the back of his head hard.
"Can you shut up already, Shittykawa?!?" Hajime asked in annoyance as he began to beat the volleyball captain while both Takahiro and Issei snickered as they watched the ace pummel their captain. Still sadistic assholes, the two were.
"Um, senpais?" The four stopped and looked at the entrance of the changing room to see Kindaichi Yūtarō who looked a bit nervous.
"Oh, Kindaichi!" Tōru happily said. The volleyball captain was rather happy to see his junior as Yūtarō's appearance managed to make Hajime's brutal beating to a hold. "What do you need?"
With that, Yūtarō straightened himself as he bowed. "Excuse me for disturbing any of you," Yūtarō apologized as he stood back up and turned to look at Issei who rosed a brow at him. "But [Last name]-senpai is here and is asking for Matsukawa-senpai!"
"Ah, looks like your bae is here Mattsun!" Tōru had said as he was the first one to realized what their junior has said. The volleyball captain wasted no time to teased Issei who didn't even give a single glance at him as the black haired middle blocker nodded at Yūtarō.
"Thanks," Issei had said as the first year once again bowed and then went back outside the changing room and go who knows where.
"Mattsun is walking home with his boo," Takahiro had teased as he patted the black haired middle blocker's back. Giving Issei a smile when the male turned to roll his eyes at him. "Enjoy your time with your boo, dickhead."
"Your just sad because your single, bitch," Issei had said as he stuck his tongue out at Takahiro who snorted at his words.
"Fuck you, man."
"Nah, [Name]'s got that covered."
The two friend snickered at their words as both Tōru and Hajime looked at each other and then shrugged. They would've butted in but it seemed like the two fucklords were in their own world.
It took a minute or so, and then Issei was already finishing on changing to his uniform as he took his bag from the bench that was inside the changing room. The black haired male was already at the doorway fo the changing room when he stopped and and gave a mocking salut to the three third years.
"Later bitches," Issei had bid as Tōru whined on being insulted as Hajime sighed and slapped the back of the captain's head which earned more cries from the chocolate brown haired male while Takahiro rolled his eyes.
"Hope you got run over by a truck while Prez watches, you dick," Takahiro hollered as Issei turned to give his friend a middle finger while the said male stuck his tongue out and did the same aswell.
"Bitter bitch!"
"Dumb dick!"
"Can you two not be vulgar?!?"
"But Iwa-chan, you use those words too— AHH NOT THE FACE PLEASE!!!"
   "Did you wait long?" Issei had asked as he approached the [Hair color] haired male who shook his head. Issei smiled at that.
"Not really," [Name] had said as Issei had walked beside him. The black haired male then immediately grabbed his hand and [Name] didn't mind. He always liked when Issei's hand was intertwined with his. "Did you have fun with practice?" [Name] had to bit back a smile that was threatening to come its way to his lips as he heard Issei groan.
"It was tiring," Issei had said as he pouted. "Dumbkawa was also being annoying, like always," Issei added which made [Name] softly chuckle.
"Isn't he always?" The [Hair color] haired male had said as Issei let out a snort at his words. The black haired male gave [Name] a grin, eyes gleamed with joy.
"Yeah, your right about that."
With a hum, [Name] squeezed Issei's hand as he began to walk. "Come on, let's head back home already."
"Yeah, yeah, Prez."

Keeping Up With Seijoh Ep. 3
a/n: uwuwuwuwu this is an au since yanno,,,, they didnt really make it to nationals :(
for more seijoh content, check this masterlist out!
GUESS WHOS BACK! BACK AGAIN!
anon:
may i request a scenario where seijoh made it to nationals and atsumu flirts with reader🥺
Tumblr media
CAN WE BLS STOP THIS SANGWOO/ATSUMU TYPA BEAT BC I HONESTLY DONT VIBE W IT AND IT LOWKEY SCARES ME A LITTLE :o
OMLOMLOML YALL MADE IT TO NATIONALS
to be honest, it was,,, unexpected
you were sitting there, on the bench and gripping it in anticipation as seijoh and shiratorizawa were once again at a match point thanks to kyotani’s angry spike
going past 31, they were now 31-30 with seijoh in the lead
you could tell ushijima was getting antsy despite him covering it up and encouraging his team with a one-liner
your own team was buzzing with both nervousness and hope and iwaizumi was clenching and unclenching his fists in anticipation for the last toss
when the ball went up, oikawa’s eyes flashed, arms moving to set and the red-haired spiky guy was now watching which spiker he was going to give it to
however
he tossed it to no one
instead, oikawa’s hand flicked and he dumped the ball
it was like in slow motion and as shiratorizawa’s players scrambled to the floor,
it was too late
the ball bounced on yellow polished floor before rolling away, completely unaware of what just happened and the lives it just changed
your mouth hung open, eyes trailing after the rubber ball like every single people in the gym
then it finally hit you
‘YOOOOOOOOSSSSHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’
a scream from iwaizumi lit the candle of happiness and you didnt even care, running out to the court to jump on your captain, tears flowing down his face and his arms squeezing you tightly against his chest
‘AKLDFJJSHKFEOIOWIHFSKESIFOEWIHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’
it was all a jumbled noise from everyone, your team, your coaches, the fans in the stand, and even from that orange boy and his team
the boys were hugging each other and crying and sobbing but oikawa’s hold remained on you, your own tears mixing with his sweat and coating his neck
‘you did it, oikawa-san. you did it’
you whimpered and he laughed and you felt him nodding
‘we’re going to tokyo. nationals!’
he choked out
‘OIKAWA!’
the entire gym rumbled and you basked in the joy that the entire team radiated before having to stand with the coaches so they could shake hands with shiratorizawa for a good game
the locker room was loud, even much louder than the gym, with kindaichi’s loud sobbing and mattsuhana’s loud celebratory singing and iwaizumi’s joking shouts and eventually joining in
iwaizumi held his arms out for you and you giggled, crashing straight into him
you wiped his sweat filled face and he sat down on the bench, with you standing between his legs and his large hands gripping your waist
‘it’s not a dream, right?’
he whispered, eyes closed at the gentle feeling of you caressing his face
‘no, iwa-san. nationals is ours’
you soothed and he let out another loud laugh before pulling you close and burying his face in your stomach, probably crying again but this time, out of joy
for years theyve tried
and now, they succeeded
well,,, nationals should be a good thing, right?
hmm,,, maybe the honor of going
but the other players??
oh god
it was obvious when miyagi’s representative entered through those doors and eyes immediately went to their manager
it wasnt like you were the only female manager but you were an unfamiliar team so you have never been seen before
uwu youre so pretty like bow down to the goddess
oikawa’s hold on your hand was tight and his eyes flitted to everyone who looked at them, as if signalling them to back off and you were his
‘wahh, oikawa-san! kageyama told me that the best of the best are in here! he told me to look for fukurodani and nekoma!’
seijoh’s eye twitched at the mention of your new-found friend who you’ve been texting back and forth and him secretly teaching you everything about volleyball since your own team has been too busy preparing for nationals
they watched you try and stand in your tippy toes to find the apparent red and black jerseys and the black, white and gold jerseys
hmm,,,, it seems everyone had the same colors
‘ne, y/n-chan, you trust our team, don’t you? if anything, we’re part of the best of the best! you got the best setter right here!’
oikawa grinned but you nodded distractedly
‘come on, we got to go unpack and train’
iwaizumi nudged so you had to stop looking and you followed your captain, who still held your hand
but this is a typical fanfiction ladies and gents
as you were walking towards the locker room, there was a team that wore maroon colored jackets and were walking towards you
again, this is seijoh’s very first nationals so nobody really knew of them
they were more familiar of the white and purple jackets of shiratorizawa rather than the mint green and white of seijoh
however, oikawa seemed to know them
‘ah’
he whispered out, making you look up at him but his sights were straight towards them, a hard and cold look
‘ara? fresh blood?’
you cringed at the weird analogy and the guy with the black tips, who you infered to be the captain, elbowed him
 ‘excuse us’
he nodded in greeting and you noticed the guy with the bleach hair and you did a double-take, blinking rapidly
‘oh sangwoo?’
KSLDFJKDLFJSLDK KILL ME ALREADY
watari coughed, knowing exactly what you meant and it seems nobody else did except for the sangwoo look-a-like
and he raised an eyebrow in interest
‘hm? you called?’
another guy with gray hair, who looked exactly like him, rolled his eyes and he pulled him forward to walk after their captain
but he didnt let off yet
as he passed you by, he leaned close, breath fanning your ear
‘but its miya atsumu, baby girl’
ON GOD I WANT TO COMMIT WITH HOW GROSS HE IS LIKE BLS
kyo, who was behind you, growled at him and pulled you behind himself
‘she has name, fcker’
atsumu faked a surprise and backed away with his hands up
‘alrighty, then. didnt know you had a bodyguard, girlie. but maybe,, later on, we could get to know each other. alone’
YALL THIS IS GOING TO GET BETTER LATER I PROMISE HES NOT A WEIRDO PERVERT AS HE SOUNDS
osamu was annoyed and dragged him away, leaving you with your team, who were also extremely pissed off, especially oikawa
‘heh, the best setter in the country and yet he acts like a horny dog’
oikawa seethed, a pointy smile etched on his face
‘eh? best setter?’
you wondered but not given an answer because your captain would be damned if that atsumu decided to show up again
the locker room was actually the same back home
but kindaichi was sobbing again
‘t-this room! the best of the best! i cant-too much-’
you were busy hugging him and wiping his tears to notice the third years huddling over by the corner
oikawa was sitting on the bench while iwaizumi was changing into his practice jersey and the other two were flanked beside the captain
‘of course theyve got their eye on her now’
oikawa mumbled, fingers laced together and touching his lips
‘what can you expect? y/n-chan is an extremely pretty girl’
mattsun shrugged
‘but ugh, if i see that cheese face again,, i will fight’
iwa threatened, angrily slipping his arms through the holes
‘he reeked nasty! gross!’
makki agreed
‘so we’re agreeing to keep her in our sights right?’
they agreed to oikawa’s question and were going to stick by that word
but,,,,
what can you expect from star-struck players?
maybe its because theyve worked for so long to reach this point that the fact that they’re even standing in the tokyo stadium felt like a dream
‘guys, i need to go and fill the bottles really quick’
they mumbled distracted agreements so you sighed and lugged the crate of bottles
thank god there was a fountain nearby and as you were capping the last one, a familiar voice rang from behind you
‘oh? baby girl?’
you flinched at the weird nickname and thought that if you stayed quiet, hed leave
‘chibi? hey?’
he asked and made his way to your side, you closing your eyes and looking off to the side
atsumu thought you were interesting, not like every girl who would spread their legs at him and press up to him
the fact that you even AVOIDED looking at him was so foreign to him and your dismissive attitude made him so drawn to you
‘look, im sorry if i made ya uncomfortable earlier’
he,,, apologized?
but you didnt know who he was so you didnt know how out of character it was for him to even say ‘sorry’
'miya-san, hello’
you mumbled, eyes now opened but still focused on the bottle you gripped
he cracked a smile and was he,,,, nervous?
usually, hed say something dumb or sarcastic to cut the tension, but it was like he was even,,, careful,,, with what he wanted to say next
‘how-um-you like it ‘ere?’
if osamu was to see him now, he’d think his brother was kidnapped by those aliens oikawa swore up and down were real and was replaced by some opposite dimension version of atsumu
you gulped, mustering up a small smile before turning to look at him
‘miya-san, dont take offense to this, but just know i have a very loud voice and i can lift 80 pounds. and im the first one to ever beat iwa-san in an arm-wrestling match’
you puffed your cheeks in intimidation with your eyebrows furrowed but accidentally looking more cute rather than scary
were you,,, threatening him?
atsumu paused for a second to assess the situation and really understand the underlying meaning of your words
then he laughed
a real hearty laugh that made him go for a whole minute
‘-ahahaha!! whew, chibi-chan, ya’r a rare one’
wait i dont know how to type you’re with an accent !!!!!
he let out a few more chuckles then wiped a tear that fell
you just stood there 🧍‍♀️
‘you think its funny, miya-san? yahaba-kun and i also have a supernatural telepathy phenomenon-’
‘chibi-chan, i swear i wont hurt ya’
he promised but you backed your face away, an eyebrow raised
‘thats what they all say. if anything, youre scaring me more so i’ll-’
‘wait’
he held out a hand out but he quickly curled it, pulling it back to his chest
‘i,,,, listen i know how basic this may sound but,,,, youre the first to ever be like this to me’
you rolled your eyes
‘you think i havent heard that before? i have oikawa-san in my team, for god’s sake! ‘youre one of a kind’ ‘youre not like other girls’ yadda yadda’ try harder, miya-san’
you tilted your head with a crooked smile
were you,,, playing hard to get?!
atsumu’s eyes shined, wanting to finally do the chasing rather than being chased
‘well, first off, chibi-chan, i need to know your name’
he leaned forward with his hands buried deep inside his maroon jacket pocket
‘my name? what good will that do? you already call me something else dont you? a name is meant to help people call each other and youve been calling me ‘chibi’ so what’s the point of giving you my birth name?’
even with a straight face, atsumu right away knew of your teasing as your eyes were shining brightly and had a hint of amusement in them
oh my god hes in love with you
he was in disbelief of your attitude towards him so he nodded slowly and laughed again
‘what can i do to earn that name then, chibi-chan?’
ehehehe kuroo,,,,, im in danger
you crossed your arms and pouted, leaning forward
‘ehh? why do you want it so bad? do you call others ‘chibi’ too?’
your expression of suspicion was so adorable that he couldnt stop himself from lunging forward and squeezing your cheeks between his fingers
‘so cute. youre my only chibi, chibi-chan’
you hummed, swiftly wiping his touch away from you
‘doubt it. ive only met you today and you’re already acting like this. what makes you think i think youre genuinely interested in me, miya-san?’
‘fate?’
this time, you chuckled, head leaning down
and as you looked back up, your heart stopped
by the distance, there was a familiar-looking haired boy with golden eyes and an also familiar black hair and steel blue eyes
oh dear
your emotions went sour but you saw the black and white-haired male laugh and the steel eyed male shake his head in disapproval but had the hint of the smallest smile
they,, were now happy
‘fate, you say’
you mumbled distractedly
‘fate instilled magnets in us so i just cant help but be drawn to ya’
atsumu grinned but you averted your eyes to look at him, a soft and genuinely happy look
‘would those magnets be strong enough to draw us together, even if we were in another life? if we were fated, would we meet again?’
you looked up at him, your eyes still glistening but this time, with the slightest bit of hope
atsumu sent you a confused glance but he still shrugged
‘i guess so, if i’m so drawn to you right now. maybe in our past life we were,,, together?’
he tested out, expecting you to roll your eyes and walk away but you laughed
‘well, i just witnessed it happening so maybe its possible?’
you wondered out loud
atsumu blinked again, getting more and more interested in you
‘chibi-chan?’
he asked you and you jumped slightly to look at him with a smile

— kunimi as your boyfriend.
Tumblr media
just want this man’s hand in marriage. hope you enjoy.
the time has finally come.
we are enjoying the pure goodness that nimi provides because this cutie can do more than just blep and look dead inside.
doesn’t make any sense how people DON’T simp for this cutie enough because whew— i surely do.
kithes for him but you aren’t here for me to simp for your man.
dating akira here is a bit interesting.
but before i go discuss that, let’s discuss a bit of background and the crushing stage.
first of all, he isn’t someone who dates often. may have been in a few relationships or maybe none at all.
the concept of being with someone never really peeked his interest nor does he want to stumble across someone who could potentially want more out of him.
but we could already assume that a bit from his personality. (although i will not consider him 100% lazy here.)
however, gonna add that none of that makes him totally inexperienced in the dating scene.
nimi is somewhat knowledgeable about it to a certain degree so if you think he’s completely clueless at dating or anything.
fairly decent but definitely trips up on some things.
only thing i can say is appreciate him for doing his best here.
as for the crushing stage.
he found himself a bit confused that he developed feelings for you.
not one of those “hm?! what’s this strange feeling bubbling inside me?!?!” type of confusions. more on the “so we’re finally simping..? how did this happen?” side.
but he isn’t bothered by it nor is he going to retrace his steps on how he developed feelings.
it was bound to happen since nimi does spend a lot of time with you and he tolerates you more than any other person who isn’t on his team/friends.
doesn’t attempt confessing his feelings towards you for a while.
but he does tell kindaichi about you. he’s the homie after all and he gotta tell someone about the cutie he’s crushing on.
also akira is one of those people who just observes their crush, waiting for the opportunity to compliment you if you end up changing something about yourself.
“did you change your hair? it looks different.”
“oh yeah! it’s just a small trim but i didn’t think it was noticeable. does it look bad or something?”
“not at all. your hair looks pretty but your hair always looks pretty to me.” he’ll say with a small blush on his cheeks.
literally says the nicest things to you that it’s hard not to swoon over him.
keeps up the act until one day he spots a guy around you trying his hardest to get with you.
it made him jealous that someone could potentially you steal you away from him so best believe when he skipped practice to hang with you (as always), he decided to confessed his feelings for you right then and there.
you already know the rest so it’s time to get into the relationship aspect.
dating him isn’t that bad. of course it’s more on the chill side though.
not because he’s lazy or anything because he’s actually ditches his lazy habits for you. (not completely but we aren’t here to change him. we stan and love this man for being himself around these parts)
gives a bit of his energy towards you than anything else but it’s only because he’s whipped for you, however, he won’t attempt it.
definitely finds himself holding your hand while sleeping in class.
says “he sleeps better that way.” so you just gotta accept it.
even recommends you should try sleeping in class too with him but someone has to take notes and its you sadly.
but ever since you two started dating, both his and yours sleeping schedule are ruined. (mainly yours since nimi is a pro at this)
kunimi is the type of boyfriend who likes to be active with you during the night.
whether it’s sneaking you out so you two can go buy snacks while talking endlessly, on the phone with each other until morning or just generally at each other houses doing nothing but cuddling and watching tv— he’s keeping you awake with him.
but it’s not like you mind since spending time with akira is never bad.
side fact: you once tried to fix his sleep schedule by making sure you both fell asleep early and you truly thought it would work because he agreed for once... but it didn’t work since he still slept in class the next day.
the type of boyfriend who ‘accidentally’ leaves his clothes at your place and then acts surprised when you end up wearing it.
“is that my shirt?”
“uhh yeah you left it here, remember?”
“really? i don’t but you know... i can’t even be mad when you look good in it.”
and if you’re at his, kumini will find a way for you to ditch your own clothes because he likes seeing you in his.
but is he really fooling anyone here? no. will he ever admit to it? never never never.
100% positive this cutie swoons over you.
akira here smiles the most when he’s around you and ONLY YOU.
however if his teammates tease him about it, he’s just gonna stare and pretend he heard nothing.
willing to drop everything for you. don’t fight me on this.
kunimi akira loves you that much.
even loves you enough to share his favorite with you; salted caramel.
and that alone speaks VOLUMES.
pda was mentioned briefly so let’s shift to it.
in public; akira is definitely affectionate but the most he’ll do in public is holding hands with you, occasionally giving small kisses that leave you all warm every time he does (same goes for him too) and requests that you play with his hair during lunch break (because he definitely lays on your lap and listen to you talk about random things).
now when you are alone then he’s definitely more affectionate than before.
loves wrapping his arms around from behind and letting his head get snuggled up in the crook of your neck, his kisses become frequently, cuddling with you (big spoon energy for him) and all the lovey doves stuff.
but something he loves the most is waking up in the morning and giving you morning kisses (after teeth have been brushed and everything.. morning breath exist ya know. don’t kiss with morning breath please.)
overall just super soft with you when you’re alone.
nicknames? ahh nicknames.
top ones for you 🥁🥁🥁 precious, pretty girl, baby/babe, cutie, princess and occasionally he’ll toss in sleeping beauty/princess
side fact about the last name: you called him the prince of sleeping one day and he decided to joke around about you being his sleeping princess/beauty then. proceeded to make another joke that the next time one of you end up sleeping then a kiss be given to wake one another up.
you took the chance to do it a few weeks after that conversation and he couldn’t help but blush and find it shocking you took him seriously (yet he’s not complaining)
now dates. sweet wonderful dates.
kunimi prefers to take you out on dates that are considerably relaxing and quiet so home dates, going to museums, art exhibitions, aquariums and things along those lines are okay with him.
also loves seasonal dates where you to go around try the new dishes out for the season or look at the new outdoor decors being set up.
something to mention, when he takes you out to each... you never see the bill. never ever.
akira doesn’t believe in the concept of you paying for something if he’s treating you out and he also won’t argue with you about it.
not verbally at least but you two do mentally fight about it and there’s always the competition of who can pay faster without the other noticing right away.
as for home dates, he sometimes goes all out and makes a little fort so you two can watch movies inside.
like a little get away from reality.
but let me come myself down because i could go on and on about dating his fool.
in summary; kunimi is best boyfriend. i said what i said and never taking it back.

Tumblr media
summary: being in love with hajime iwaizumi is like riding a rollercoaster of emotions. it’s thrilling as it is exciting, but you feel a little lightheaded... because he doesn’t know how you feel. the worst part? he thinks you’re in love with his best friend.
warnings: just pure fluff, oikawa cockblocks, slow burn, slight angst if you squint real hard
word count: 2,924
part two here
Tumblr media
Iwaizumi silently watched from the exit of the ramen shop as Oikawa eagerly helped you gather your belongings at the table the three of you just finished using. Despite the indistinct conversation you and his team captain were sharing, Iwaizumi didn’t fail to notice your small giggles that were probably in response to one of Oikawa’s many attempts at flirting with you. Who in their right mind wouldn’t flirt with you? You were a sight to behold, at least in Iwaizumi’s eyes... and every other male’s at Aoba Johsai, including none other than Oikawa.
It was no secret, not even to you, that you were attractive. With curves in all of the right places, glowing skin, and bright doe eyes framed by long, curled lashes, you were everything females wanted to look like and what every man dreamed of calling theirs.
Even though he knew you were physically gorgeous, Iwaizumi was more drawn to the beauty of your soul. Your alluring intelligence intrigued him the very moment he first heard you speak your mind without hesitation in class on the first day of school when you were both first years. When you became an assistant manager for the Aoba Johsai volleyball club during your second year, your kindness enthralled him when he discovered that you voluntarily stayed up all night on multiple occasions to devise game plans for every Seijoh volleyball match.
By your current third year of high school, Iwaizumi found himself utterly captivated by your empathy when he saw you through his silent tears, embracing a sobbing Kindaichi away from peering eyes, whispering words of comfort despite your own sobbing, shaking frame as a result of Seijoh’s lost chance of attending Nationals. Back at Seijoh later that day, Iwaizumi overheard Kunimi thanking you for comforting Kindaichi when he couldn’t do so himself. When he saw you smile, gently place a hand on the second year’s shoulder, and reassure him that you would do absolutely anything for ‘your boys’, he was enamored.
It was safe to say that Hajime Iwaizumi had fallen in love with you.
“Y/N, let me walk you home. It’s already dark out. Can’t stand the thought of my pretty girl getting into danger, you know?” Oikawa’s flirtatious words brought Iwaizumi’s attention back to reality. The green eyed boy’s gaze landed on your approaching frame and he couldn’t help but grin when you rolled your eyes in mock annoyance.
“The sun isn’t setting for another hour, Oikawa. I’m sure I’ll be fine,” You reassured, giving Iwaizumi a smile of gratitude when he opened the door for you. Oikawa’s quick stumbling after you however, completely destroyed the butterflies that fluttered in Iwaizumi’s stomach, causing the annoyed ace to huff.
The three of you made your way to the corner of the street but not before Oikawa could stop whining. “Y/N, you can’t possibly leave me with Iwa-chan!” The setter complained with a pout and sagged shoulders but you paid him no mind.
“Oi,” Iwaizumi grumbled, harshly elbowing his best friend’s chest, emitting a yelp from the pretty setter. “What’s that supposed to mean, dumbass?”
You glanced at the red crosslight before facing the two volleyball players with a grin. “Don’t be ridiculous, ‘Kawa. Iwa gives the best company. Isn’t that right, Iwa-chan?” You turned to Iwaizumi with a toothy smile, a small giggle leaving your lips when the spiky haired boy pouted. Hajime’s cheeks flushed not only because of how cute you looked craning your neck to look up at him, but also because of your usage of his cursed but infamous nickname.
Maybe that stupid nickname isn’t so bad, Iwaizumi quickly thought. Thanks, Oikawa.
Iwaizumi opened his mouth to respond, but before he could speak, Oikawa cut him off.
“Lying isn’t good, little manager. But if you give me a hug, I won’t complain for the rest of today… maybe.” The setter smirked and opened his arms in your direction.
I take my ‘thanks’ back, you sly fucker, Iwaizumi thought begrudgingly.
Once again, the ace felt as if he had been punched in the gut. When Iwaizumi saw you chuckle and embrace his cocky best friend, who was more than happy to tightly wrap his arms around your body, jealousy filled the boy to the brink. The hug you gave Oikawa was a hug he desperately wanted for himself instead. Sure, friends hugged each other all the time; Iwaizumi could simply ask you for one and call it a day.
Would Y/N even be comfortable with that?
It was that specific question that constantly lingered in the back of his mind. The fact that he had the biggest crush in the world on you however, prevented Iwaizumi from even wanting to ask you for one in the first place.
It was simple, really; the only thing that scared Iwaizumi more than asking you for a hug, was simply being rejected by you under any circumstance.
On the other hand, you always questioned why Iwaizumi never seemed to want to have any physical contact with you. You were comfortable with all of the boys on the volleyball team; even Kyoutani, of all people, allowed you to give him small side hugs. The only times you and Hajime ever made physical contact were through quick high-fives on the court when he scored points during games. Other than that, everything between the two of you was verbal. Hugging him was definitely out of the question. Perhaps Iwaizumi liked having physical boundaries set in place? Or maybe because you were a girl and he was hesitant? You weren’t sure, but you could understand. After all, the ace did have his shy moments despite his aggression towards Oikawa.
You never admitted it to anybody, not even to yourself, but Iwaizumi’s physical distance made you feel insecure. You thought you were fairly attractive and friendly enough; you felt confident most of the time. Did something about you disgust him? Did you talk too much to the point where you annoyed him? Did he lie about viewing you as a friend only to preserve peace within the volleyball team?
The idea of Hajime disliking anything about you caused your stomach to twist and turn. After all, it was only natural since you’ve had such strong feelings for Aoba Johsai’s beloved ace for quite a while.
Your troubled thoughts clouded your mind and you instinctively clung onto Oikawa a bit tighter. The action didn’t go unnoticed by Iwaizumi, who was surprised to feel his fingernails carving crescent shaped marks into his right palm. He immediately released his grip and clenched his jaw. Even if the ace decided to turn his gaze away from the sight of his crush and best friend hugging, it definitely didn’t help when Oikawa grinned and began to make flirty comments about how perfectly you fit in his arms.
It definitely struck a nerve, but the pain was overshadowed by jealousy and annoyance.
Iwaizumi had never experienced relief the way he did when he saw the crosslight finally signal for pedestrians to cross the street. With a quick sigh, the boy called out to you and Oikawa. “Shittykawa, you can let her go now. She has to cross,” he said and gestured to the crosswalk. It had taken all of Hajime’s willpower to steady his voice and keep the venom out of his voice.
At the sound of Iwaizumi’s voice, you immediately let go of Oikawa, ignoring the captain’s small whimpers and claims of ‘missing you already.’ Instead, you made your way to the edge of the curb instead. You thanked the spiky haired boy with a bright smile which he returned, but something about it was strained. Even if your heart ached at his weak expression, you found yourself quickly adjusting Iwaizumi’s unfolded collar, an odd habit you developed as the team manager, before stepping onto the pavement.
Iwaizumi was caught off guard by your sudden action but kept his composure regardless. Clearing his throat, he lifted his hand to offer you a small wave. “Be safe, Y/N. Text one of us when you get home, yeah? And don’t stay up too late studying for tomorrow’s exam,” the ace chided. “You seriously need to get more sleep.”
Your smile widened at Iwaizumi’s protective words, even though you’ve heard them on multiple occasions. I’d get more sleep if you didn’t occupy my every thought at two in the morning, you thought before stepping onto the pavement. When Oikawa’s pleas for you to text him instead of Iwaizumi interrupted your thoughts, you teasingly rolled your eyes at the setter, but nodded at the shorter boy beside him.
“I’ll text, don’t worry. As for getting more sleep, I can’t make any promises... but I’ll see you two tomorrow. Be a good boy, Toru!” You joked and gave Oikawa, whose cheeks were crimson from the cold and your usage of his first name, a pointed stare before making your way home. The setter chuckled to himself and shoved his hands into his pockets, moving to stand beside his best friend who silently watched you walk down the street.
When you were a safe distance away, Oikawa opened his mouth to speak. The setter’s words were so sudden, Iwaizumi had to steady himself; otherwise, he would have stumbled off the sidewalk and into the now moving traffic.
“You like her, don’t you?” The taller brunette noted, his eyes unwavering from your shrinking figure the farther you walked away. It wasn’t a question, but rather a statement that needed confirmation before anything else could be said. Oikawa’s tone wasn’t the usual, cheerful one that Iwaizumi was familiar with. Instead, it was serious. The team captain didn’t have to look at Iwaizumi to know that the green eyed boy was far too stunned and flustered to come up with words of denial.
The deep shade of red that tinged Iwaizumi’s ears and cheeks, along with widened eyes was enough to confirm Oikawa’s assumption. With a click of his tongue, the team captain chuckled under his breath, his lips molding into a small smile. Iwaizumi didn’t have any words; he didn’t know what to say. What could he say? How do you tell your best friend that you’ve been in love with the girl that he’s currently interested in? What kind of best friend does that?
Maybe Iwaizumi wasn’t the ‘best’ friend after all.
The small nudge of Oikawa’s elbow to Iwaizumi’s arm caused the flustered boy to shove both hands into his pockets. Together, the duo silently made their way onto another familiar street in order to get home. No words were spoken until the ramen shop was out of sight; only the shuffling of shoes against the ground could be heard. With his hands folded behind his neck and head leaned back to admire the clouds, Oikawa was the first to break the silence.
“You know you can tell me anything, Iwa,” Oikawa adjusted the strap of his shoulder bag, turning his head to glance at his friend. “It’s okay if you like Y/N.”
With a swallow of his throat and a heavy sigh, Hajime focused the path ahead of him before responding. “Look, Oikawa. I’m sorry. Really. I know you told me you were into her, but I’ve liked her since our first year. I tried to stop when you told me you were interested,” Iwaizumi’s fists clenched in the pockets of his jacket and his eyebrows furrowed. “But I just...” he began to twirl a loose piece of thread from his jacket between his fingers, a nervous habit of his. “I couldn’t. I can’t. Whatever, it doesn’t matter.“ He cut himself off.
Since I think she likes you too, was what Iwaizumi was going to finish off with, but it would make his heart ache even more than it already was. As much of a pain Oikawa was, Iwaizumi knew his best friend didn’t deserve to be the target of his demise. It wasn’t Oikawa’s fault, not at all; it was his own for liking you as much as he did.
Especially because he knew that he could never compete with his best friend.
It was no secret that between the duo, Toru Oikawa was always the preferred choice. The first choice, in fact. He was as attractive as he was charismatic; who in their right mind wouldn’t be interested in Oikawa? He was six feet tall and the oh-so very talented captain of the volleyball team, not to mention the fact that the setter received at least two love confessions a day from swooning fangirls.
What special qualities did Iwaizumi possess that could even compare to his best friend’s many accomplishments? Sure, he was the team’s ace. After his failed stunt against Karasuno’s team at qualifiers however, Iwaizumi now believed he wasn’t worthy of such a title. On a better note, the green eyed boy came to realize that he was in fact good-looking, having received a number of love confessions himself. Even if he had a serious, stoic expression most of the time, girls seemed to take interest in it. Gentle green eyes and soft, but spiky hair that gave his appearance a bit of an edge, what wasn’t to like about Iwaizumi? Nothing, really. But in comparison to Oikawa? Everything.
Even with attractive physical traits, Hajime Iwaizumi wasn’t Toru Oikawa. In fact, he would never be on Toru Oikawa’s level.
Hajime Iwaizumi was simply destined to be the runner-up. The second choice. Nothing more, nothing less.
Oikawa let out a quiet hum, but kept his eyes up ahead when Iwaizumi glanced at him. “Nothing to apologize for, Iwa-chan. But cut the shit. It does matter. Y/N is a great girl... like, seriously. Nobody intimidates Kyoutani the way she does, not even you. She doesn’t even have to try,” Oikawa let out a loud laugh and Iwaizumi couldn’t help but shake his head and chuckle himself.
“I do like her, don’t get me wrong,” the setter sighed, but the smile on his face never wavered. “But I think you love her.” Oikawa’s smile, now a smirk, widened when he noticed Iwaizumi’s ears beam pink with embarrassment. The taller boy reached out to poke one, but his hand was quickly swatted away by the blushing wing spiker.
“You little shit, I-I’m just cold!” Iwaizumi grumbled and raised his scarf to cover a part of his red nose to avoid his best friend’s teasing gaze. He let out a stubborn sigh.
“Who’s the little shit? I’m not the one who’s under six feet, Iwa-chan,” Oikawa snickered mockingly. The death glare Iwaizumi sent Oikawa’s direction was enough to silence the captain’s laughter. “Whatever. But I’m still gonna back off regardless.” Oikawa’s words only confused Iwaizumi, who questioned the taller boy.
“But why? You like—“
“I like her, yeah. But it’s nothing serious, I’ll get over it in a few days,” Oikawa’s word choice immediately caused the ace’s eyes to narrow, but the setter held both hands up to his chest in surrender. “Don’t take it the wrong way! No, it’s not like that, I’m not an ass. I just really want to focus on volleyball for now, that’s all.” He reassured and grinned at his friend’s eyeroll.
“Besides,” Oikawa added. “You two really would make a cute couple.”
A cute couple?
Iwaizumi let his friend’s words float in the air as they turned the corner to near his house that was further down the block, before allowing them to sink in. A comfortable silence was shared between the two until they finally made their way in front of the Iwaizumi household. The older of the two was at a loss for words, still too flustered and embarrassed from being read so easily, especially by Oikawa of all people.
The fucking nerve. Iwaizumi bit the inside of his cheek.
Nonetheless, he turned to face Oikawa, whose face showed genuine joy; joy for his best friend who finally developed interest in a person after avoiding romance for years up until now. Truthfully, Iwaizumi couldn’t be annoyed with that. He sheepishly placed his left hand behind his neck and took a breath before speaking.
“Um. Thanks... for hearing me out. For understanding, too. I’m still really sorry though.” Iwaizumi’s sincere words were met with Oikawa’s annoyed groan.
“Jesus, would you stop apologizing? Apologize one more time and I swear I’ll actually steal Y/N from— ow, I was just kidding!” Oikawa lifted his hand to rub the side of his left arm that Iwaizumi had punched with a frown on his face. The ace then made his way up his porch steps before turning over his shoulder to glance at his friend whose pain subsided, the boy now waving goodbye to Iwaizumi.
“Make sure to tell me if Y/N texts you that she’s home, yeah?” Iwaizumi called out and opened his front door.
“You got it, Iwa-chan! She’ll probably text you instead though.”
“We’ll see. I doubt it though.”
When he entered his house, Iwaizumi quickly greeted his mother with a kiss on top of her head before making a beeline to his room. As soon as Iwaizumi put his belongings down on his desk, he heard his phone’s text tone go off in his pocket.
Guess she texted Oikawa already, he thought and pulled out the device.
When Iwaizumi’s eyes landed on his screen, he couldn’t stop his face from burning when he read the text notification. Without realizing it, he was smiling from ear to ear.
Y/N: ‘Got home safe, like I promised I would. See you tomorrow, Iwa (๑❛ᴗ❛๑)’

Sure! It was fun doing it :) also I didn’t know if you wanted Oikawa to have a crush on reader or not and you didn’t specify if it had to be a scenario or an headcanon. Hope you like it anyway!!

Twist and shout.
Oikawa Tooru x reader.
synopsis: we all know Oikawa Tooru doesn’t like to lose but flash news either you do.

~~~
"Iwa you're stepping on my hand!"
"Oikawa, Hanamaki! I know you're looking at my ass, stop it!" thank god you changed in time and wore your sweatpants.
"You have no proof." the brunette replies you.
You snort annoyed, causing a slight laugh in the two. You don't remember who had the brilliant idea of playing twister, sure is that you curs him now, as well as you curs yourself for accepting.
You should have stopped them as a manager should do, but you have the bad habit of getting caught up by the third-year and getting dragged by their idiocies. The coaches had warned both you, the captain and vice-captain that you would be training alone, as they would be busy all the day in a meeting with other coaches about the volleyball tournament you would have in a few months. They had therefore decided to leave the training that afternoon in your, Oikawa and Iwaizumi’s hands, sure that at least you would not be misled by the boys and supervised the team for them, preventing the boys from being crackheads and skip the training. Unfortunately for the coaches, they put their hopes in the wrong person. Thinking about it, if you're manager of the Aoba Johsai volleyball club there's a reason and it would be that you love to joke and play with them too: you're a dork as much as they are, you love fooling around with these idiots.
It's just you, Iwaizumi, Oikawa and Hanamaki. Matsukawa had immediately given up participating, saying that he’s too tall to play, Watari became the judge and Kyotani had simply ignored y’all, having much more fun seeing you twisting. Kindaichi had lost after a couple of rounds, Kunimi had withdrawn in the first round, claiming he was way too tired to play.
Watari turns the hand again and this time it's Iwaizumi's turn to move his right hand to a blue square. Unfortunately, although the boy is an amazing spiker, he isn’t as amazing when it comes to moving on the board and loses his balance, falling to the ground and being eliminated.
Hanamaki can't hold back a laughter, same for Matsukawa, who looks at you with the rest of the team sitting on the floor; unlike them you try to restrain yourself, not wanting to offend your friend. The ace, not appreciating the comment, moves his leg and with a sort of trip let the other wing spiker fall, eliminating him too.
"That’s not fair! It's not my fault, Iwaizumi pushed me!" protests Hanamaki in vain, but Watari shakes his head ignoring the complaints, while Iwaizumi chuckles.
It's just you and Oikawa left and you know what this means: you'll have to be even more careful; you know that he’ll try in every possible way to make you lose. You're both very competitive and neither of you want to lose to each other.
You go on for another twenty minutes to move your arms and legs, twisting as much as possible and ending up in the strangest positions, most of them embarrassing, provoking the laughter of the rest of the team, who instead enjoys taking pics and making fun of you, trying to distract you and make you lose your balance. Despite the respect you know you've lost from your kohais (or at least definitely kunimi's), you're still having a lot of fun and letting yourself be dragged by the stupid jokes of your friends, making your audience on the gym floor laugh wholeheartedly.
By now you are almost at the end of the game: you feel it as Oikawa tries to keep his balance, failing miserably; you see him wobbling all the time next to you, as he tries to reach the yellow square under your belly. Even though you're having fun, you still hope he falls so you can win and finish the game, clean and tidy up the gym and finally go home. Unfortunately for you, the setter isn’t of the same idea: Oikawa has no intention of letting you win and if he has even the slightest chance to win, he certainly will not let it slip away. That's why, while reaching the square he shoves you, dropping you first and him shortly after follows you on the ground, ending the game.
"Oikawa! You bastard!” you yell at him, trying to hit him as hard as you can, while he is weighting on you.
“It was an accident; I didn't do it on purpose, you know how honest I am.” He claps back, looking at you with an innocent smile, while he's still lying on you.
"Liar! Hope you don't kiss your mom with that mouth." You reply annoyed, accepting the defeat and pushing him away with your hands on his chest, in an attempt to move and breathe a little.
The boy bursts out laughing and moves from you, getting up on his elbows and getting back on his feet, then stretching out a hand to help you get up. You accept it, but with a cunning smile, you pull him down, causing him to fall face-to-face on the board next to you, provoking laughter from the other players.
"Wow captain, you're so graceful even when you fall!" howls Makki with laughter, followed by Iwaizumi.
"I didn't think you could lower the level of your dignity even more Oikawa, and yet here we are." The middle blocker piles on by mocking him and you give them another sincere laugh, attracting the attention of the boys, not used to seeing you so carefree. Sure, you like joking with them, but you rarely laugh so openly, that’s why they are so shocked.
"C’mon Oikawa, we need to tidy up the gym." You tell him with a smile and this time you offer him your hand. He looks at it hesitantly and you raise your eyes giggling, when the captain decides to squeeze it and you get up together.
That being said, you start giving orders and you all get together to clean the court and remove the net that at the beginning of the training you and Iwaizumi had put on, oblivious to what the others three had in mind. Although you haven't used the gym for training, you still keep everything in order, then you make the game disappear in your school bag, deciding to giving it to Oikawa once you’re out of school. When you're done, you go to the lockers and change and finally wait for the boys out of school, pulling out the phone and answering a few messages.
"Y/N-chan, are you still here?" You hear Oikawa calling you by the typical nickname he gave you, you put your phone away and instead grab the game from the bag.
"I wanted to give it to you back so that you can put it back wherever you, Hanamaki and Matsukawa found it." You tell him with a smile that he returns.
"We should play twister more often if you're in such a good mood, Y/N-chan."
"Am I always that serious?" you ask him, curious to know what does he think about you, and seeing him slightly embarrassed you can't avoid giggling.
"A little. It almost feels like you never have fun." In response, you burst out laughing. It doesn't bother you that they have this idea of you, even though you know it's still not correct: in fact, you hang out almost every Saturday with your friends to have fun.
"On Friday night we from third year always organise an evening board games at Iwaizumi's house, why don't you join us? Since you are a third year too." He asks you out of the blue and you think about it for a moment, then looking at him with another sincere smile you nod.
“I’d love to."
Loved You First
Pairing: Kunimi/Reader and Unrequited!Kindaichi/Reader
Word count: 1342
Warnings: Angst
A/N: Here it is, the first one shot for Yesterday’s Gone
Girl, it should be me. Driving to your house, knocking on your door, kissing you on the mouth, holding on your hand, dancing in the dark. 'Cause I was the only one who loved you from the start
The 3 of you had always talked about going to Aoba Johsai together after graduating, but maybe it hadn’t been the best option for his heart, maybe if he had gone to any other school now he wouldn’t have to see you dating his (and your) best friend. Maybe if he did not see you every single day his feelings for you would have gone away, ‘as if love ever went away’ Oikawa had scoffed when the first-year middle blocker admitted why he had been so distracted during practice one day. ‘Specially if you have loved her for so long’ Was 3 years that long?
But now when I see you with him it. Tears my world apart.
He remembered the day he found out about the 2 of you being together. He had arrived a few minutes earlier than expected to your house for the weekly study session the 3 of you had, and of course, your mother had let him in, telling him you were in your room. He went upstairs and straight to your door, not bothering to knock since he assumed you’d be alone, on your phone, after all, Kunimi always was late for the study sessions. “He-” The sight in front of him didn’t let him finish his greeting. You were laying on your bed, the wing spiker’s arms wrapped around your waist as you peppered kisses all over his face. That was the moment he learned what heartbreak felt like. He didn’t bother saying goodbye before walking away and making his way back to his own house.
Because, I've been waiting, all this time to finally say it. But now I see your heart's been taken, and nothing could be worse. Baby, I loved you first.
Now there was nothing he could do, you and Kunimi were happy together, and he wasn’t about to ruin that for either of you. “So… How long?” He asked you one day while you waited for Kunimi to come out of the locker room after practice. “Our second year at Kitagawa.” Your reply made him frown. “You’ve been dating for over two years and didn’t tell me?” He tried to remain neutral, but there was a hint of pain in his voice. “Oh, no, no, no.” You shook your head chuckling, oblivious to the way his heart hurt. “I realized I liked him back then,” You started explaining. “we started dating a few weeks before school started this year.” He nodded in understanding.
Had my chances, could've been where he is standing. That's what hurts the most, girl, I came so close. But now you'll never know, baby, I loved you first.
The three of you were still best friends. Even if he felt like the awkward third wheel, like he shouldn’t be there. Every time he had to listen to the words of love you 2 whispered to each other he felt like crying, the pain of knowing you were so close yet so far away, being overwhelming at times, making him abandon your movie nights and study sessions earlier than expected. There were times when he lay down on his bed, all the “what if’s?” invading his mind. “Maybe if I had told her...” He stopped himself and ran a hand through his hair, knowing there was no point in drowning himself with the things he hadn’t done, with the thing he should have done. He knew he had fallen for you sometime between your first and second year at Kitagawa Daiichi, he knew he loved you first, yet here he was, on the verge of tears while you were with Kunimi.
The first touch, the first kiss. First girl to make me feel like this. Heartbreak, it's killing me. I loved you first, why can't you see?
You weren’t only his first love, but also his first heartbreak. Yet there were so many more firsts he would have loved to experience with you; first date, first kiss… There were days where he thought about telling you, even if he knew you would reject him for his best friend, even if he knew you loved him instead, that he didn't stand a chance when you had been in love with Kunimi for so long. The sound of you calling his name pulled him out of his thoughts, making him curse quietly when he realized the class had ended and he hadn’t paid attention at all. You shook your head slightly. “I’ll let you use my notes.” He smiled slightly at your kindness, taking the notebook you were offering him, before standing up and walking out of the classroom with you, meeting Kunimi on the way out of school. Your hand was quick to find your boyfriend’s as you walked down the street, the first stop? Your house, as usual. You stood on your tiptoes to press a kiss to his cheek like you always did. “Bye guys.” You waved and walked into your house. “You still like her, don’t you?” His friend tilted his head slightly as he looked at him, making him gulp, what was he even supposed to say, yet his silence and clear nervousness were enough of an answer for Kunimi. "I'm sorry." A sad look crossed his eyes but it was gone as quickly as it had appeared.
Had my chances, could've been where he is standing. That's what hurts the most, girl, I came so close. But now you'll never know, baby, I loved you first.
Years passed and he never moved on, not even after you had part ways for university. You are your boyfriend going to the same one, but this time Kindaichi didn't join you. He walked into the cafe, eyes quickly scanning the local for an empty table but finding you instead, his breath catching in his throat and his heart skipping a beat. You looked beautiful, but that was nothing new, you were always breathtaking in his eyes. After a few seconds nervously asking himself what he should do he started walking, reaching your table and clearing his throat to avoid startling you. "Wh- Kindaichi?" You were looking up to him, any hint of confusion dissipating when you saw his familiar way. He had changed, but you guessed you had as well. "Long time no see." He gestured at the seat across from you, silently asking if he could sit and you nodded. "Yeah, how long has it been, 2 years?" You tilted your head slightly. "2 years since graduation." He rested his hands on the table, slowly fidgeting with a napkin as silence settled in between you two. After almost 20 seconds had passed he took a deep breath, which didn't go unnoticed by you. "Y/N, I have to tell you something." He stated, making you raise an eyebrow. "What is it Yu-Kun?" He felt the blush forming on his cheeks at the nickname you had given him back in your second year at Aoba Johsai when he jokingly complained about you calling him Kindaichi while your boyfriend got all the nicknames. "I-" he stopped for a second to catch his breath. I've liked you since our second year at Kitagawa Daiichi, is what he would have said if your phone hadn't started ringing. You were going to decline the call, curious as to what your friend wanted to tell you, but your boyfriend's nickname was on the screen. "Hey love." You spoke happily and in less than a minute you hung up. "I'm sorry Yu-Kun, but I have to go." You smiled sadly at him. "I'll text you later." He nodded and looked as you walked away, tears forming on his eyes. "I just wanted to say I love you."
Baby, I loved you first. Baby, I loved you first. Oh, yeah. Baby, I loved you first.
