My final project will be a high end fashion line of men's shirts. I will have 5 shirts made as well as design mock-campaigns on illustrator that could be featured as ads on Facebook or other social media. Finally, I will create a name and logo for the company, which will be featured on the ads. I will order the shirts from a website which let's me customize the fabric, pattern, cut, button, stitching etc. of all the shirts. And I will bring the shirts, as well as print posters of the ads, on the date of the final.

Final Proposal

I would like to photograph the interior space of St Mary of the Angels Church in order to communicate the concept of emotion and how that particular space affects me in an imposing and intimidating way. In addition, I would also like to somehow juxtapose my appreciation for the beauty of the architecture, decorative detailing and glass-stained windows, as this is what I concentrate on and feel comforted by when inside the church.

My approach to photographing will be to try and shoot particular spaces, features and figures of the church that are architecturally impressive but in a way that shows I don’t really enjoy or feel comfortable being in the space. I want my photographs to be dark, dull and colour drained and show little warmth or happiness to try and communicate my emotional experience within the church to the viewer.

My narrative should show a short visit to the church, which captures architectural elements of interest but in a very dark and still atmosphere to communicate feelings of being uncomfortable and intimidated by the church space.

I will attempt to do this by adjusting the aperture and shutter speed to control the amount of light entering in to the camera and also by focusing on one particular feature within in the church. I want to keep my series very concise and simple by selecting only 4-8 photographs for my final presentation. I dont want to over complicate and include images that do not add anything extra to my narrative. I would like my photographs to be square so that they are balanced and have a central focus point. I also think it is very important to make sure they follow the rule of thirds.

I want to try and achieve similar lighting to Luisa Lambri’s photographs which show a neutral colour scheme and low saturation but create an even darker environment more like that of Dave Baker. 

I would like my images to connect like Alec Soth’s do in his projects, by following a specific journey through the church to show my experience.
