DRAGON FIVE: Seol Hyeon Dae
More FD Bench, now with reserve DF Hyeon-Dae. Unfortunatey the one I have the less of, but I still like him anyway </3
Tumblr media
He has three younger siblings who are eager for cinema as him, and they beg for in an appearance in his future movie. Hyeon-dae always keeps his promises, though he can't guarantee how good will their appareances be. (They are in dire need ofimproving some acting skills...)
At least they are good supporters of his soccer plays, so he appreciates that.
...He's actually the nicest guy of the whole group. He has no resentments, no self-pressure, no pettiness, no actual anger... He's just a guy with huge ambitions and that's it, as "vanilla" as that might sound. But that doesn't make him an outsider from the other benchers; in fact he does help keeping the group around most of the time.
Ji-Nan grew a liking for him because of that, and they like to hang out around the town when practice is over. Chung-yoon also likes to join in at times, liking to talk with Hyeon-dae (And to keep an eye over the keeper).
Sung-Joon is slightly harder to interact with to due to how much of a show-off he is, but HD did just fine by convincing him to appear in one of his movies; his future award being a "new step for Korean media" (At least that's his choice of words). Both a blessing and a curse, now SJ won't stop talking about that whenever he's with Hyeon-Dae, and how great of an actor he will be...
And while HD does know a lot about korean movies, he isn't very interested on K-Dramas. SJ is the one to talk with him about that.
...Meanwhile with Jung-Won he talked just a bit, but they seem to be in good terms. JW offers a lot of interesting technical information about cameras, surprisingly, so maybe a collaboration could happen in the future.
I guess he could be the "leader" of the benchers? Sung-Joon tends to claim that title himself given he's older, but all the rest believes Hyeon-Dae fits the role better. Even if he doesn't always know what to do most of the time (?
Final thing for now, but midway the asian eliminatories, he had quite the curious encounter in a japanese camera shop: With Adel Siddique, a bencher of the Qatari team with the same exact dream as his (Read their profiles pls). After having a nice conversation about filming equipment the two decided to keep in contact -be it phone numbers or the few social media of the era-. They are still on good terms in the future, but the truth is that they are now focused on their individual careers. Does this mean that they could end up competing for an award? Most likely. I won't say who gets to win the Oscar tho (?
A random tidbit that I want to add here to end is that, for some reason, Hyeon-Dae's 3D sprite made his pupils look like literal minuses ➖➖, similar to those of a goat. The anime went with an approach closer to his actual sprite; pupils still "blocky" but more normal-looking.

(Source for the pic)
Honestly the latter medium made him look so much better overall. That bowlcut can't be fixed tho, I'll say that (? 😭🙏

Hey everybody, meet Cecil. He is made entirely out of pun. As many puns as I could possibly cram into one guy.
Observe:
• There’s a team in Inazuma Eleven whose members’ names are all Marine Life Puns when said out loud with a Japanese accent. Big Waves is the Australian team from Ina11 GO Galaxy, comprised of people named things like Cole LaRuze [Kōru Rarūze] who is Coral [Kōraru], Marsha Ark [Māsha Āku] who is Shark [Shāku], Owen Easter [Ōwen Īsutā] who is an Oyster [Oisutā], etc., it’s so good. I stole the fuck out of that gimmick. So this is Cecil Ugura [Sisuru Ugura], who is a Sea Slug [Si Surugu]. [...I hope I romanized that right. Or at least got it close enough.]
• Slug Boy is based on a Glaucus atlanticus sea slug specifically. Everyone loves Glaucus atlanticus.
• He is Australian. This is both a further nod to the sakka team I snatched the name theme from, and also to the fact that G. atlanticus are found around the East coast of Australia. Also I just really like Australian accents.
• “Ugura” is the Japanese word for a group of thorny plants, which includes things like nettles and also cannabis. I liked the Prickly Connotations because G. atlanticus have all those pointy little stinging tentacle fingers and now I officially have an excuse to draw claws.
• The fringes on his hips are just rips in his jeans that he’s pulled a bunch of those white fluffy fibers through. His pockets actually still work fine, the holes are only in the denim. This is unnecessary trivia.
• He initially comes across as very relaxed and, one might say, almost sluggish, but he has a sharp eye and quick reflexes. The kind to shock you by casually recalling a huge number of tiny details that you would never have thought he’d even noticed in the first place, much less remembered. He doesn’t look like he’s paying attention, but he’s a good listener, and very observant.
• Very nice and easygoing until he’s not. He’s like 5’4’’ but can fuck up someone twice his size in a fight. He will casually step in if he sees somebody harming, or intending to harm, somebody else. He’s quick when you don’t expect him to be and he can take a lot of punishment without going down. Very sturdy, more like an immovable object than an unstoppable force. He’ll deliberately let someone land a blow or two on him if that’s what he has to do to get an opportunity to strike hard and fast at a weak spot, like their throat or solar plexus. This short, chill stoner can humiliate an angry gym bro in a fistfight.
• ^ That’s a joke on how G. atlanticus is sometimes called the Blue Angel Sea Slug vs. the Blue Dragon Sea Slug. People can’t decide on a common name for that thing because it’s little and it’s pretty and It’s A Fucking Slug, but it can fuck you up so hard if you touch it because it’s full of stingers it steals from the Portuguese Man ‘O Wars it eats. That’s its self-defense mechanism. It is small and squishy and very very pretty and it can sting you just as bad as a deadly bluebottle jellyfish.
• Another Contradicting Common Names joke: Part of the gradient in his hair is positioned to look like a halo. Specifically, it’s the black part.
• Has a Zippo lighter collection. He may be Sea Slug but he has a fascination with Fire and he will burn you. Because dragon. And also angel, actually -- aren’t those giant eyeball vortex things Perpetually On Fire?
• Slugs actually have sharp teeth! ...Sort of! The spikes are just rooted in the creatures’ tongues [radula] due to the lack of jawbone. Humans have jawbones though, so the sharp teeth can just be where teeth are supposed to be here.

DRAGON FIVE: Cha Jung-Won
Tumblr media
The final bencher for now. I like his red glasses 👌
...Also, apparently, I was wrong. He's the one I do have the least of. Unfortunately I can't really develop him further because I don't even have time anymore, so... For now, enjoy what I have so far :(
He has a very slight rivarly with Hwan Woo-Myang due of being from the same city and two growing businesses. However it is rather mild, and for the most part it doesn't mess up their relationship as teammates. On the business side, yeah, they are going to be very aggresive in their marketing competition.
He adores kimchi, and one of the products he plans to distribute on the future are kimchi coolers.
With access to latest technology, Jung-Won posseses the latest phone models at hand. His future brand has a main focus on domestic life electronics, but its true that he also desires to invest in smartphone research and production. He already has the latest mobile phone models at hand; but he believes that the best way to improve on them is hearing and writing down ideas in person. Some suggestions written include longer battery duration, adding videos to calls, more space for music, and... Being able to touch the screen!? (Reminder, IE happens all during 200X, flipphones are very prevalent on the series.)
Besides writing about the characters I believe its important to also talk about the korean context as a whole. Koreans mostly overlooked the japanese soccer for the most part, not interested on seeing what their chaotic neighbour was doing, but when the Aliea menace hit Japan let's just say panic evolved the whole country. Following the situation upclose and finding out about Raimon's victories, this led to many korean children interested eventually on japanese football, Jung-Won being one of them. I think he'd like the idea of Jung-Won checking out various Football Frontier plays, eventually stumbling upon the infamous Megane Crash move of Raimon vs Shuuyou Meito. At first he was horrified with the whole concept, specially for a person that valued his glasses a lot (And with a reason, those things ARE quite expensive); but ironically that gained knowledge would turn out to be useful.
...Basically in the rare occasion that both he and Sung-Joon were sent to the field, things were getting complicated for Korea to score; specially with one less pretty boy to carry the team on its attack. It was there when JW realized that performing Megane Crash seemed to be the best outcome. Taking advantage of his -already complicated- relationship with him, he begged SJ to shoot at a very particular spot. Even the korean forward was confused, but his own desire of winning got in the way. And so, this created the only goal either players did in the whole FFI.
(Maybe this happened during the Red Viper match? Because I'd like to see Seong-Jun scoring something too than have all the goals made by *those three*).
Does this improve their bad first impressions at first? Partially. What ends up uniting them though is their shared love of... K-Dramas. Picture these two sitting in the sofa sharing tissues while a very overly dramatic scene plays at the TV 😭
Also him losing his glasses was extremely important; because he was incapacitated to play for a while due to his astigmatism. Pretty much he can see others with the ball, but when it gets too close its when it gets difficult for him. If it wasn't that his family was willing to cover any needed cost for new glasses in Japan, day-to-day life would have become complicated for Jung-Won.
----
I think that's it for both Jung-Won and the whole Fire Dragon bench. I still confess there's a lot I'd like to develop more about these players and their context, but I like these ideas as a first approach. I hope I can talk about them again sometime, be in other posts or other types of content. Thank you for reading! :D
...By the way, remember what I said on Chung-Yoon's post? This time around, I lied. The full bench actually appears in the anime!!! Just that Jung-Won's face got covered, rip 💔
Tumblr media
Also this, settei materials for animators including a height chart of FD. For the source of this specific photo, its complicated. I've found it here, but the uploader is a Livejournal user named Splash who apparently deleted the original source of these pictures. Which is weird, because I remember saving it on full quality time ago... (Though in here, I used Waifu2x)
Tumblr media
Either way, I like JW's pose, he looks sassy even if it's blurry 😭

DRAGON FIVE: Noh Sung-Joon
Tumblr media
Or how he used to be known before the wikia name chage, No.
Jokes aside, I love him 😭 Like the rest of the bench he has a simple design but for me its the profile that always spins things up. This one in particular aged like a fine wine.
"Plans to fly all over the world as a Hallyu star in the future."
Learn more below! ☆
First off, about his profile... What it mentions, 'hallyu', refers to the growing fascination of overseas audiences towards korean entretainment, be by k-dramas, movies, music; everything korean. Pretty much what's going on with the web nowadays.
Some profile translation went to be more direct however. The spanish dub turned him into a k-poper for example:
"Le gustaría que la música pop coreana fuera conocida en todo el mundo." "Wishes korean pop music was known worldwide"
...So yes, he's probably the closest we're gonna get to Stan Twitter in Inazuma Eleven (?
As it is notorious however, such music genre hadn't become popular yet during 2010/the FFI era. So for now, all he can do is find ways to share it with others and hope it will blow up in the future. (He's in for a huge surprise)
If he's organizing a party, be it in Korea or overseas, expect him to put K-Pop on the mix.
Although he has set the goal of being a hallyu star in the future, he doesn't have an specific idea of what in particular due to the ambiguity of the term. Currently he'd love to be an actor, but he wouldn't mind becoming a singer either. He keeps his options open.
Though, his singing voice could have some training...
Given his skill 'Ikemen!UP', he's fairly popular, specially with the girls. Though he hasn't gotten into any dating stuff yet.
...Unfortunately, he can be quite annoying at times. He's always finding an opportunity to shine both outside and in a match, liking to gain compliments. He's isn't neccesarily the one to bring others down, but in case he has to do group work he makes sure his voice is the most heard.
Back on Korea, he was acclaimed to be one of the best forwards of the country alongside his buddies, and it was rumored that if an international tournament was to happen, he'd be inmediately on the starting line-up. So this obviously made him excited when the FFI was announced, but then... His spot on the field was taken by three "half-koreans with japanese names"; or at least that's how he calls them. Now benched, he can't help but feel resentful at times; but there isn't much he can't do anyway. At least when he leaves the bench by chance, he'll do his best to perform as he can.
(He mainly doesn't like much the Chaos duo due that they took the spots meant for his friends, buuut his feelings towards Aphrodi are more conflicted; as while he still has some sort of a grudge, he can't help but also find him... Rather pretty. However having these feelings confuses him a lot, and he just doesn't know how to act on them.)
When it comes to the bench group, Sung-Joon warmed up very well to Ji-Nan, as despite his short temper he likes his goalkeeper skills. Plus their shared pettiness make them unite even more, usually training together on their free time.
Sung-Joon tries to get Ji-Nan more into korean pop culture, even believing he could be an interesting actor for a production too. This is also why he likes Hyeon-Dae and his aspiration as a cinema producer. He sees future on this trio!
Being the only 3rd Year of the bench group, he often tries to impose himself as their leader. But sadly there's gonna be disagreements on his proposals, specially from Jung-Won. They don't like each other that much, but... If it wasn't for the "four-eyes", Sung-Joon wouldn't have made his only shot at the FFI. So he's forced to tone his rivarly down.
...And to end. Some time ago, I was searching for TCG pictures in the Inazuma11 wiki, and while stumbling upon Route of Sky's card... LOOK WHO I FOUND!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUNG-JOOOOOOOON ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
It makes 0 sense for he to be here BUT IDK I'M SO GLAD HE'S ON CARD AHHHHHHHHHH
(This also would make him be the only FD bencher with "merch". If we think about it.)

DRAGON FIVE: Lee Chung-Yoon (+ Lee Jin-Sung)
Tumblr media
CHUNG-YOON <333333
...He matters a lot to me ok. I actually discovered him thanks to the Random Page button on the wiki (I needed to make some Sims back in 2020), so my attachtment to him is slightly longer than the overall bench. Though it is interesting that as I was actually writing a setting for him, a japanese fan made me realize something about this player that, well... Changed my whole view about him, for better or worse.
However, there's a little catch, and there's an extra character here, Fire Dragon's Coach Lee Jin-Sung. I already spoiled the reason why, but I'm going to develop on it further here.
Enjoy!
Both Chung-Yoon's parents work at the same hospital. His father is a nurse, and his mother a doctor. He mostly has to rely on his grandparents for care at the moment.
Like his profile says, he's very praised for his well care of the elders, including those of his own family. In fact, we could also say she's the actual caretaker of his grandparents instead. Some appreciate the detail and patience he has with old people, and his father often wonders if he could work as a nurse in the future. However... Let's say that's only one side of the coin.
...CY lives a double life, pretty much. While at home he's gentle and silent, at school he's a literal beast. Not only he's cold and asocial, but he's also extremely aggresive, often getting in trouble with the local bullies and delincuents of the class. All hidden from the adults and teachers of course; there are many, many street fights that Chung-Yoon participated AND won.
...It is actually unknown if CY does actually like this brute lifestyle or not. But it seems he at least tries very hard to cover it up from his parents -and specially his elders-.
...My reasoning to this whole HC comes from his actual hissatsu lineup, in which Breakthrough 2 is included. He's the only FD member to have it, you're welcome.
youtube
The only one who knows about his secret life however is Lee Jin-Sung, the FD coach. In my setting, he is the step-brother of Chung-Yoon's dad, as their parents married when they were young. So he's technically his uncle, even if they don't look that similar.
When CY was called to the selection, some controversy sparked upon making the connection; even making people accuse Jin-sung of nepotism. Since he doesn't seem to have any children able to play, why not use his brother's one instead?
This does cause Chung-Yoon to be seen down by other korean players and the media, often disregarding his actual soccer skills. And hell, even CY himself starts to have his own worries over why was he the one choosen for FD. But no matter what how many times the confronts the coach, he always gets the same answer from Jin-Sung: "There's a hidden potential in you, but you have to realize it".
Similarly to Ji-Nan, Chung-Yoon also uses football to express his anger away, unfortunately with a very aggresive playstyle involving way too many tackles to the opponent. And maybe few red cards. Maybe as the tournament progresses he'll eventually to find other ways to play without causing unnecessary harm.
At least, not everything with Chung-Yoon is always pain or harm. When practice is over he likes to spend his time window shopping, specially around those streets that sell unique things. Most of the time he'll do it alone, but in rare occassions he'll get to do it with one of his teammates.
Regarding them... Let's just say that CY isn't an unknown name at all, specially for the FD players that live in his same city; so -almost- everyone is aware of what Chung-Yoon can do if he gets angry. Because of that, nobody ever tries to take that risk.
I think the only time it went south with him was with Nagumo Haruya, I wouldn't be surprised if his atitude got onto CY's nerves. If it wasn't for both Aphrodi and Chang-Soo, chances were that Nagu wouldn't have survived until the Inazuma Japan match.
As for the bench, I think he gets so and so with them. Not bad, but its true that deep down Ji-Nan and the others are terrified of him, so they always have to watch their step whenever Chung-Yoon is nearby. Well, maybe not Hyeon-Dae. He treats him like he'd treat everyone, be it for ignorance or by innocence. At least CY takes it well, it seems...
One last player that treats him surprisingly nice too is Cho Myong-Ho. Yes, CY is intimidating, but look at those kicks! There's a formidable taekwondo rival hidden within! During the whole FFI he begged CY again and again to at least have a versus together, though it was never accepted from the bencher. Maybe it is for the best.
And with that, all the benchers who were clearly vissible on the anime have been covered :D

DRAGON FIVE: Heo Ji-Nan
Tumblr media
Since its the Year of the Dragon, wouldn't you guys mind if I post about the Fire Dragon bench? They're my side hyperfixation that I love writing about every so often 🥺
Also yes, I specify bench because I don't care much about the main team for now. At least outside of their dynamics with the benchers that is-
First we have Ji-Nan, the reserve keeper. He's so cute ;____;
His profile implies that he lives in Seoul despite being from the south, so I like to interpret that his family moved there at some point of his life.
Typical story of a parent managing to gain a better place to live at thanks to their job; the usual. While most of the family was ok with the moving, Ji-Nan does get homesick at times, specially of the warmer temperatures. His original home are the Jeju Islands, by the way.
Because of the sudden change of location, Ji-Nan still has it hard to get used to living in the big city overall. At least joining his school's soccer club helped him make some friendships, I guess.
So, about his issues with the cold, here's a cruel fact: Ji-Nan has cold intolerance, which makes enduring the Seoul winters even worse. To cope with them he tends to put on puffy jackets, scarfs, gloves, and tons of layers of clothing. Otherwise expect him to catch him a cold very quickly…
The little hat he wears is just something he bought in hopes to warm himself up.
He has an older brother, but that gets constantly on his nerves because of his mischievous and unneeded comments towards him. When Ji-Nan practices soccer, he likes to act as a striker, and he will celebrate intensely every goal he makes against his brother.
...Though, Ji's very hot-headed overall. He doesn't take jokes very lightly, and he gets pissed off easily. I don't see him as violent when he's angry, closest thing is that he's quite petty and tends to complain about others in secret. Soccer and goalkeeping are also ways he lets his fury out without hurting others, supposedly.
Though in very rare occassions, Ji-Nan CAN actually try and fight someone no matter the size.
I like the idea of Ji-Nan using Dai Bakuhatsu Harite a very different way than the one seen animated: While the main keeper uses many but enough hits to stop the ball, the reserve often hits the ball way too much and with too fast, causing it to be slightly burned after the final explosion. This is an unwanted side-effect that's caused by a badly performed move.
His relationship with main keeper Jo Jung-Soo is okay, given there isn't an actual rivarly; and even JS himself sees potential on Ji-Nan. Unfortunately, he is very aware that the reserve keeper often puts too many of his negative emotions into his moves; which isn't neccesarily a bad thing but such intense things create the side-effects we mentioned earlier. So Jung-Soo always keeps an eye on him, and steps in is Ji-Nan is being his usual salty self.
"Don't let your fire get too intense, it will damage your playing style".
JN unfortunately doesn't have the best reaction to this, feeling often misunderstood. But at least later on the FFI he realizes healthier ways to express his negative feelings while also finding peace of mind. He probably got onto meditation or something
Because of the bad relationship with his older brother, te tends to become attached to pretty much every single older boy that treats him better. Jung-soo? The coach? The other benchers? You name it. Please ignore the fact that 3/4 of the bench aren't great people, the bar is just that low for him.
Though, Hwan Woo-Myang having a similar personality to his brother -always teasing Ji-Nan and his skills- can cause some tension between the two. Even if he's just being mischievous, this still is able to open the worst side of the little keeper, straight up talking shit behind him at any chance.
...For something more positive at least, time did make both boys mature a bit; removing Ji-Nan's petiness and making Woo-Myang a bit more considerate for others. After a re-encounter as adults the two surprisingly bonded well this time around, and they soon became good friends. Nowadays every weekend Woo-Myang likes to take Ji-Nan to eat and/or sing together. They always are having fun!
Speaking of the future, after the FFI Ji-Nan was the only FD bencher that kept playing football. Despite everything he never gave up and kept training, and soon enough after perfecting his skills enough he was given a spot on a professional Seoul team.
Another thing that contributed to his rising fame was his bond with Jung-Soo, given that they were in pretty good terms and often tried to train together. Nonetheless, Ji-Nan prefers to go his own way, even as to wishing to soon play internationally unlike the main keeper (Who'd rather stay on Korea as to keep improving local football).
Last thing, but a huge issue that did held back Ji-Nan during his early football days was his height. After all, with the current best korean keeper being huge, why would anyone place their trust on a tiny one? To compensate that, he trains very hard almost daily, following a rough excersice routine crafted from trial and error. At least once his daily effort is done, he loves to eat a huge bowl of fresh fruit.
(And yeah, don't expect him to get any despective comment about his height very positively).

"QRT with your headcanon" Twitter Thread: Afuro Terumi
Original Thread, in spanish. I wrote a rather big thread for Afuro (Surprisingly), aaaand I wanted to post its translation somewhere.
Perfect chance for me to talk about Fire Dragon here
------
Tumblr media
About the dilemma of Afuro's nationality, I like to see it this way: He was born in Korea, but was given a japanese name from his father's choice. However, because of either -economical or familiar- issues, he was taken to Japan, where he lived most of his life.
Around the FFI, a childhood friend of his (Choi) managed to contact him again, managing to secure a posicion in Fire Dragon. About Nagumo and Suzuno's joining, well, I still have no idea how they joined; and its not like I care much about it either.🤷‍♀️
Moreover, because of his japanese name and the influence its culture had on his life, he didn't always got on well with his teammates, even if Choi tries all he can to ease tensions. Afuro's worst relationship overall is with Noh Sung-Joon, a benched forward.
Tumblr media
...It might be ugly, but let's see it from his point of view: Before the FFI was announced, he and his friends were promising forwards who were granted to represent Korea soon enough; but then three randoms appeared and stole his spot... So yeah, he is quite salty about it, and he refuses to cooperate nor with Afuro or with the Caos' boys.
At least not much came out from this, just some sort of cold war. But I'll confess, I'm fond of the idea that Afuro and Sung-Joon do eventually get past their rivarly, regardless if he gets out of the bench or not.
And will there be something else between the two? Who knows (?

Hello!!! This is @brucemarlin speaking here. Welcome to my Headcanon blog!!!
Long story short, whenever I hyperfixiate on something, if the situation inspires me enough I like to write about it. Sometimes I write silly stuff, others I accidentally end up creating an entire lore for 1-frame background character or a 1-chapter NPC. WHOOPS.
Tumblr media
So, what can you expect here? Well...
Headcanons (Of course)
Backstories
Fan-OCs (Includes family members, friends, or even lovers)
Also yes, OC x Canon. Lots of OC and canon.
AUs maybe too???
Crossovers but only if I get inspired enough lol
Ships (My main weakness...)
Shitposting (Depends)
Art, MAYBE, but unlikely. For now I like to use character makers to ilustrate OCs or other things-
And of whose franchises, well, currently I'm hyperfixating with Inazuma Eleven. Mostly OG FFI ones (Big Waves, Rose Griffon, Fire Dragon, Red Matador etc) but I also like S1 and S2 teams (Senbayama, SP Fixers, a bit of Hakuren from both OG and GO).
I also have written stuff for other media, but the truth is that only one or two of those other interests have an actual fandom on Tumblr so. We'll see. For now, this remains Ina11 only.
Either way, hope you can enjoy what's written here!
--------------------------------
Status update 18/8:
If you're reading this August is killing me rn. September might be worse and I don't even wanna know about October. If I dissappear one day... Remember meeeeee ;_______;
