I read krylon uv resistant clear acrylic in matte is acceptable for painting resin BJDs. Is this correct or should I try a different brand? (I'm trying to buy in the US) Thanks!

No, absolutely not, Krylon is NOT a safe brand. Krylon’s main purpose for sealants is for wood varnishes or things like decks and patio furniture-- stuff that’s intended to last through weathering. It means this sealant is next to impossible to remove and removing it can leave damaging effects.

For some reason the most I’ve seen Krylon recommended is within the Youtube BJD community and I have no idea why.

You can look in the sealants tag for more alternatives, if you’re not in the market for MSC I’d suggest Testors Dullcote (you can find it at hobby stores and I think sometimes big box hardware stores?)
