for the record i DID name scylla after epic the musical but i've named characters after greek mythology before epic the musical existed so.

anyways all my ponies for my hypothetical g6 has been from past generations (including rosedust here, who is from g1) so i thought id spice it up with an OC.

and for the record. in this universe flutterponies and breezies are the same thing, just interchangeable terms.

A new logo to reflect the improvements in my style, and to just be more reflective of my skills now overall. No real changing besides making the rose look more like a rose and improving the look of the chesspiece. This will be my new logo and watermark moving forward.

And with a new logo comes a new cutie mark and a new modpony design. I redesigned her back in January, but now she has a bit more of a proper ref. I don't know how much I'll really use mod pony, but I plan to give her an anthro form as well that I'll probably use more often.

Based on a norwegian fjord, my favorite horse, and a flutterpony for my love of the fae. Her official name is Rosedust, for Rose in my username and Dustlight, my first real pony OC. It is complete coincidence that Rosedust is also the name of the flutterponies in old-gen MLP. Pay no attention to the Titania in the corner.

“What are you doing?”

“Planting a flower, leaving a pebble, and cleaning off the moss, as I’ve done each year for close to a century now. The flowers always wither in time, but I’d say this ever-growing pebble collection is a testament to your groundskeepers’ neglect. Why do you ask, Your Majesty?”

“These are three of the worst villains Equestria has ever faced.”

“This is so.”

“Why plant flowers? Why leave anything?”

“Once a year, the young ones leave offerings of candy by a statue of Nightmare Moon. Do you ever wonder why?”

“It’s a tradition. Leave candy or she’ll gobble them up.”

“Traditions start somewhere. I would speculate that a bit over eleven hundred years ago, some sort of offering was being left in rememberance at a memorial or monument, and that this behavior was observed and later evolved into offerings of candy.”

“Why do you leave offerings by these three?”

“For many years, a tour of the garden included a sculpture of a draconequus. They would say the statue represented the concept of ‘discord’ without ever mentioning that he was a real being held prisoner. Over a mere ten centuries they forgot him, and who he was, and what he actually represented.”

“You think that might happen to these three?”

“Forgetting enemies leads to destruction. Forgetting history leads to repeating it. Forgetting family…”

“Family?”

“She was my older sister, Your Majesty. Our mother, Rosedust, was killed in a doomed attempt to protect us and our home. We vowed vengeance together, but over time became… estranged. She’s the only immediate family I have left, trapped forever in a half-life, able to hear and nothing else. I must remember her because I don’t trust your kind to do so.”

“You’re a changeling.”

“Don’t lump me in with those renegades, Your Majesty. The evolution into love-sharing colorful pacifists—a pale imitation of what we were before the Sunstone’s destruction by your unicorn king—may have been necessary for the continued survival of my  species, but it broke my sister’s mind. The last time I saw her in a non-petrified state, she was talking to trees. She abruptly vanished before I could reach her, and the next time I saw her, she was marble. And you know as well as I do that she can hear every word of this conversation, and that’s why I usually don’t speak. The garden is quite noisy during the day, so I try to let her sleep at night, if such a thing is still possible. I fervently hope she’s asleep right now; I’m sure she’d be angry if she heard the two of us conversing without hostility.

“I keep thinking maybe if I’d been faster, if I’d found her sooner, maybe I could have saved her from herself. Maybe I could have stopped her. It’s too late now. But I can at least remember her, as she was before, because centuries from now no-one else will. Your kind forgot Discord; you also forgot the Flutterponies. I have every reason to believe that one day your subjects will forget these three.

“I will not, Your Majesty. Now, if you are finished with this interrogation, and do not intend to detain me, it  would be best for all three of us if I take my leave. I’ll return in a year, as always. In the meantime… try not to wake her.”

[author note: I don’t know if I will ever finish vectoring this thing, but work in progress I guess? At any rate I have a much better idea, more or less, of how her physical form works and how the paths should go together.]

As usual the flutterponies get ignored. No matter Queen Rosedust told you all to get stuffed.

What we call "ponies" are actually 3 different species that have managed to intertwine with each other through centuries of love and friendship.

Earth ponies are unique in their strength and solid, powerful hooves built for running and moving heavy objects. Ancient ponies only displayed earth tones in their fur and hair, but even one pegasus ancestor many generations ago can imbue colorful hues to all their descendents.

Pegasus are completely covered in feathers, with long feathers forming crests much like horses' mane and tails. They are usually the smallest species, but some exceptions do appear. Hooves are usually small and cloven, with prehensile dewclaws for gripping branches and perching in trees.

Unicorns are much closer to deer than horses, and their horns are actually a set of two antlers that wind around each other from a single base. The coiled structure pulls magic from the world around them and concentrates it at the tip, allowing the unicorn to cast whatever spells it wishes, while the other species can only use magic for flight and affecting the environment.

That is, until new alicorns began to ascend and through their power, grant magical properties to intangible concepts like friendship and love

Alicorns are mysterious, ethereal giants who fill the entire sky as they pass by. They are not a mix of unicorns, pegasus, and earth ponies, but a creature beyond any of the species; an ascended form that could supposedly happen to anyone... But but that's just an old foals' tale. Right?

Russi Taylor was a voice of my childhood not only because of her iconic roles, but also because she voiced Rosedust, Morning Glory, and Cupcake in G1 My Little Pony. Rest in peace, Queen of the Flutterponies.
