Well this is a dilemma.. this suit is meant to be my stock.. but it’s absolutely wonderful and it’s a perfect fit.. what do I do?? It’s a Norfolk Shooting suit by Bladen.. probably 60’s.. immaculate condition.. the heaviest tweed.. and it has breeks/ plus 2’s and trousers!! Action back jacket.. just perfect.. I really like the way you dress, do you have any advice for buying vintage clothes online? specifically the trousers and waistcoats :] also - I found you 'cause of dts and your art has inspired me to draw a lot more I love your wes I think about him often

Thank you! I wish I do more pics of outfits but I tend to just never bother to when I do get dressed. I used to solely go to thrift stores cuz of cost and being closeted years ago, but over time as I memorized my suit size I solely shopped online for the sake of how hard it is to find my small size in stores, and in general it would be impossible to find really vintage styles at stores. I do wish to look at flea markets more often for clothing.. (＞人＜;)

I’d look on ebay often for an array of clothes under $50 by searching under the specific names for them; knit tie, cape coat, knickerbockers, breeches, stays, stock tie, etc. I don’t find listings that hit my tastes often but I always hope to find my size. (*´-`)

Option 2 is looking up the site fogeyunlimited which has vintage items as well as not vintage clothes made using old patterns. But since it’s a shop based in the UK I seldom purchase from there unless I really find something I wouldn’t find anywhere else.

Thirdly, I’d still have to do some bit of mending on clothes if theyre not a perfect fit. Not necessarily a full tailoring since I’m not best at it but just enough it doesnt look baggy on me anymore. Or even just converting shirts to be collarless for detachable collars. Making pants shorter. Adding a button to jacket that only has 2 on the front. Currently I’m attempting to make linen/cotton cravats since I recently gotten a regency styled shirt to wear with it. The shirt which I ordered on etsy. It needed a washing and ironing to rid the newly made stiff fabric feeling and creases but I’m excited to wear it more often (*^ω^*)

I talk a lot but I like to be detailed. Another random bit of info is to prioritize getting clothing made with natural fibers only. Not just for how plastic is lame but for how natural fibers are waaay better in feeling and how breathable they are. One comment I used to get a lot in highschool was “how are you not hot in that”, well it could be due to the materials.

And thank you for the last comment! I don’t expect people to really be into knowing more on the other things I do besides draw scribbles endlessly ( ◠‿◠ ) maybe it’s cuz I don’t chat about my hobbies here often but I do appreciate being prompted to talk about em.
