as per her usual, kiara was stuck at home as an army surrounded her room with a full battalion ready to strike at any moment. she put down her bracelet making wheel with a groan and flopped onto her bed. it was barely 1pm and she was already so bored. a small clink! at her bedroom window caused her to jump up from her spot on the bed. next thing she knew, jj was climbing in through her window. “jj ! what are you doing here ?” / @forsunlights​

“DIDN’T   EXPECT   TO   see   you   again.”   jenna   was   a   little   exhausted   from   dancing,   but   still   wore   a   friendly   half   smile.   she   and   ryder   had   met   after   a   robbery   at   her   penthouse.   a   colleague   of   his   was   assigned   to   her   case   and   they   ran   into   each   other   at   the   police   station.   an   invitation   to   have   a   drink   turned   into   a   one   night   stand   and   that’s   all   that   it   was   supposed   to   be.   now   here   he   was   outside   of   the   club   she’d   been   at   with   friends asking if he could see her again.   “what   happened   to   this   is   only   a   one   time   thing,   detective?”

his head was throbbing from the night before -- attie never liked how he felt after a night of drinking. “did i make shit weird last night?” he asks, taking a sip of water from the glass set upon the table at the country club. the sun was too bright and he wishes he would have brought a pair of sunglasses. “i mean i wasn’t that fucked up. what i said was true.”

harrison wasn’t necessarily a party person, but he never passed up a good october bonfire, which was why he found himself sitting on the outskirts of a large group of people, a beanie on his head and a red cup full of soda in his hand. when he’d spotted his friend nearly in tears, he’d quickly abandoned his seat to go sit beside her, wrapping a comforting arm around her. he wasn’t sure what drama had just gone down, or why she looked so upset, but he wished he could magically fix it for her. “nickel for your thoughts? i think it used to be a penny, but y’know, inflation,” harry joked, trying to get a smile out of her. when his lame joke didn’t work, he frowned, dark eyes peering through the dark to try and figure out who it was that had made her so quiet. “seriously, are you okay? last i saw, you had half a s’more in your mouth and were laughing, what happened?”

it   had   been   two   months   since   kieran   walked   out   on   her   and   one   month   since   she   had   ended   her   relationship   with   jake   .   when   jake   got   back   from   his   trip   ,   north   tried   to   make   it   work   with   him   –––   to   be   happy   with   him   but   she   just   couldn’t   ,   he   didn’t   make   her   as   happy   as   kieran   did   .   no   one   ever   would   .   and   so   north   finally   plucked   up   the   courage   to   break   up   with   jake   ,   she   didn’t   dare   tell   him   the   true   reason   why   so   she   agreed   they   could   still   be   friends   .   femme   hasn’t   spoken   to   kieran   either   ,   as   much   as   she   wanted   to   ,   she   refused   to   press   his   contact   name   on   her   phone   .   it   was   him   that   walked   out   on   her   ,   north   wouldn’t   be   doing   any   chasing   .   until   eyes   cast   over   him   in   a   dingy   lit   night   club   while   the   femme   was   out   with   her   girls   ,   she   was   at   the   bar   when   she   witnessed   the   male   in   a   corner   booth   ,   lips   against   another   girl’s   neck   .   heart   broke   into   millions   of   pieces   in   just   a   split   second   and   north   swore   she   wouldn’t   head   over   ,   was   supposed   to   turn   back   to   the   guy   that   was   unsuccessfully   flirting   with   her   however   just   before   she   turned   her   head   ,   brunette   witnesses   the   other   girl   kissing   kieran   before   standing   up   from   his   lap   and   heading   in   the   direction   of   the   restroom   .   and   north   couldn’t   stop   herself   ,   pushing   the   male’s   hands   away   from   her   body   ,   she   marches   over   to   kieran’s   booth   ,   no   plan   of   what   to   say   .   ‘   two   months   ,   huh   ?   ’   femme   spoke   above   the   music   ,   arms   crossed   as   she   looks   down   at   kieran   .   ‘   it   took   you   two   months   to   replace   me   even   though   you   told   me   and   i   quote   you’re   the   only   one   i   wanna   be   with   ,   north   .   there’s   no   other   girl   for   me   .   bullshit   .   ’

he walked backstage, the smell of the whatever cheep beer the guys had splurged on around him and the sounds of whatever band was currently on stage. sounded a little sad for his tastes, but he knew that that was the beauty of music. a little something for everyone. that’s when he saw them, taking a sharp breath inwards at the sight. it had been awhile. a few gigs at least. he slowly made his way over, crossing his arms over his chest and smirking easily. “i’m still down to wave that white flag if you are ready to drop this whole RIVALRY thing.” murphy winked, settling down beside the fellow musician and making himself comfortable. “cmon, think of the music we could make together ... the songs we could write ... if only you could admit that we rock just as hard as you guys do.”
