teeing up a party for an NPC betrayal and having them unintentionally assist in that is an incredible experience, oh my gosh
#not cr#i can't talk abt this on my normal blog bc two of them follow me lmao#today they handed said NPC the key they found in the cave they're investigating#the key is to a magical barrier blocking the entrance to the room further in where he's gonna do some good ol ritual sacrifice#they haven't gotten that far tho#...and the key is how THEY were supposed to get in lmao#fortunately two of them are mages so they -can- still futz with magic or find other ways to warp in#but can you imagine the rush i felt when they a) told him they found a key and b) handed it over without question when he asked#they KNOW there are probably cult members here too#but they have not yet started to side eye the head of the excavation apparently#next week is going to be transcendent
