In a strange twist of fate, I have no work tonight. Mr is on a fishing expedition and the kids are asleep.
I think I’m gonna watch Forward Unto Dawn. Because I guess that’s what I do when Mr isn’t home and the kids are in bed and I have the TV to myself.
New observations and headcanons and more emotion than an almost-forgotten tie-in movie warrants incoming.

Forward Unto Dawn is a fun, surprisingly good movie but I always forget how hard they commit to making the SPARTANs look alien and uncanny (which I also love tbh) because what the fuck is this thing????

Forward Unto Dawn is what the Paramount show should have been. That's how you do live-action Halo.

Happy birthday to April Orenski!
Today is her -485th birthday!
Tumblr media
As the daughter of two high-ranking UNSC officials, it was only natural that Orenski would enlist herself, enrolling the Corbulo Academy of Military Science as part of the class of 2526. During her last year, she was assigned as a squad commander of her underclassmen. She was responsible for Hastati squad, which notably included Thomas Lasky.
Because the events of Harvest, her home planet, were still kept closely under wraps by the UNSC, Orenski and the rest of Corbulo Academy were taken by surpise when the Covenant attacked.
With the help of Blue Team, she and the three remaining members of Hastati squad survived the invasion. She is confirmed to still be alive in present canon, but her whereabouts have not been elaborated on.
In canon (~2560), she is turning 52!

Why did you stay in the back of the Dawn after firing that last Halo on the Ark?
Wasn't really a choice. Couldn't make it forward.

I did it @rainintheevening
Cadmon lives. That’s it, that’s the fic. I’m so friggin exhausted right now I can’t think of anything else to say.
This is NOT part of my Tom/Chyler AU.
Why can’t I stop writing about Forward Unto Dawn.
@writeforfandoms @ageless-aislynn @infinityactual @naranghim @sarnakhwritesthings @christian-latte-anon I know I’m forgetting some people but I’m about to fall asleep at my desk Lasky-style.

Have you read any human poetry?
Most of my exposure has been ceremonial, if at all.
There is one exception.
I spent almost two weeks' voyage aboard the broken corpse of a human ship, once.
Its makers had engraved the lines that gave it its name upon one of the bulkheads.
I had a great deal of time in which to think about it.
