Hard to gauge for sure whether it was intended as a compound in the manuscript, since the Book of Leinster isn't big on word-breaks, but if it were a regular adjective, it would come after the noun, so I guess whacking it on the front like that -- while probably for metrical/rhyme reasons -- does have that effect.

Sweet Sunny was SO upset on Monday when his sisters got adopted without him! But lucky for him, my husband was there and his heart broke to hear him crying! Since the store was closing for the day anyway, he got permission to take him home for a sleepover for the night! As you can see, he was quite happy to be back, and Luke was very happy to have one of his favorite playmates back! Okay, I have officially done more art in the last three days since I got my tablet and computer working again, than I did in the six month prior to it being fixed /combined/. And my wrist is definitely not very happy about that fact 😆

Landyn (my baby foster brother) makes an adorable little muse though, so I guess it's all worth it 😘 This was painted in SAI, then I edited it some in Photoshop. Took maybe five hours or so from start to finish.

We saw my son's foster brother a couple of weeks ago. He's been moved to a different placement, and I wasn't sure if we would be able to see him again. My son absolutely loves his foster siblings, so I am hugely relieved that we have managed to get in touch with this lovely lad's new carer and arrange to meet up. We had a fab morning catching up, and at the end, my son's foster brother gave him this toy car and told him he wants him to have it. He's played with it every day. A lot of people talk about sibling relationships and how important it is to stay in contact with blood siblings who are placed elsewhere. Don't forget foster siblings too. Omg. Just found a use of comalta in TBC-Stowe for Cú Chulainn and Láeg, and went back to check TBC-LL, and it turns out it's there too! I missed it because O'Rahilly decided to translate it as companion -- with very little justification, I think, there's no reason we shouldn't take that at face-value as "fosterbrother", especially as "companion" isn't particularly attested as a translation and it's used so often in TBC-LL in a fosterage-specific context.

That's almost definitely where some of the later texts are getting it from, and super interesting in the light of a rare use of a phopa in TBC-Stowe in this episode -- so far, the only use of the term for Láeg, in an episode that looks like it might have been circulating independently (based on the introductory info given about characters at the start of this section), and which also uses comalta. So much juicy family/fosterage language to analyse there 👀
