[ID: First image: A drawing of the six main characters of Ride the Cyclone. From left to right: Misha Bachynskyi, Noel Gruber, Ricky Potts, Constance Blackwood, Ocean O'Connell-Rosenberg, and Penny Lamb. They all wear the St. Cassian uniform. Misha has short curly brown hair, brown eyes, and wears a blue backwards cap. He has acne on several parts of his face. Noel has short black hair, warm brown eyes, and wears small gold hoop earrings. Ricky has curly light brown hair, hazel eyes, and freckles, and stands on a pair of purple crutches with stickers on them. Constance has dark brown curly hair pulled into two puffs which are purple at the ends, dark brown eyes, and wears round pink studs. Ocean has ginger hair worn half up with a black headband, blue eyes, freckles, and little white pearl studs. Penny has very curly blonde hair and bright green eyes, and wears dangling earrings with a flower bead at the ends.
Second image: The same drawing of the six main characters of Ride the Cyclone, this time all in their respective song outfits. Misha wears his outfit for This Song Is Awesome; the three top buttons of his shirt are unbuttoned, his vest is off, and he wears a black backwards cap covered in yellow dollar signs. Noel dresses as Monique Gibeau; a black wig styled into a French bob, a black dress and heels, red lipstick, and stockings. Ricky as the Space Age Bachelor Man; he wears a slightly see-through oversized black shirt covered in a starry pattern with a black tie with a star-shaped end and a pair of flared pants in blue with curvy yellow and white stripes and a starry pattern. Constance wears her hair down and looks particularly disheveled/uncomfortable. Ocean simply wears a bright blue button on her skirt that says “VOTE OCEAN” in white text. Finally, Penny is unidentified, forever eternally Jane Doe—a girl with doll-like sleeves, a high lacy collar, and the head of a porcelain doll with short, yellow blonde curly hair worn with a black headband with a small bow on the top and hollow, black eye sockets. End ID.]

May Prompts (23) Apology
Tumblr media
The Luckiest Girl in the World (chapter23)
Summary: Rosie shares a surprise with her parents and uncle. All of them have different thoughts about this unexpected development, and silent negotiations are carried out.
Twenty-Three Years Old
I knew that Papa not fully understood my reason for studying international politics and data, but to his credit he didn’t for one second try to convince me to give it another thought and opt for something science related instead. Dad was just relieved that I’d finally had found a path to walk, after several failed attempts. Uncle Myc, well he tried to hide how utterly pleased he was with my choice, but by now I knew him well enough to read the signs. Truth be told, said signs weren’t that subtle.
“Bien choisi ma chérie,” he beamed at me, while Papa scowled at him.
“Merci oncle,” I retorted. “I can’t wait to start this and go to Paris.”
The three-year BA degree was taught by The University of London Institute in Paris. We would be taught in English, but if we had an A level in French, we could also take French courses. I’d learned French in school for years, and uncle Myc and I often conversed in French when uncle Greg wasn’t around.
I think it’s needless to say that my security and comfort in France was well taken care of. Papa and uncle Myc had a conversation using their eyes only when I spilled the beans. Dad knew exactly what was going on and went to make tea while negotiations were carried out. Once the brothers were satisfied, uncle Myc took out his phone and sent several texts or emails. By now, I knew it’ll be futile to pester any of them of what was going on. I was just relieved that no one had tried to talk me out of it, making me feel uncertain or guilty for leaving the country; actually, moving out of my childhood home.
My reasons for choosing this subject were multifaceted. I’d always enjoyed learning facts, obscure and otherwise, about different countries and cultures. Having had a relatively unorthodox upbringing, containing all sorts of people, played a big part too. The cherry on top was that the school was abroad. Nana’s tales of her experiences overseas and how educating it is to have lived some time in another country and society, had always seemed enticing to me.
***
The university was situated close to the Invalides and the Seine, while my lodgings were in the Charonne area in the 11th arrondissement on a cosy cobble street, with a nearby metro station. My landlady, Marguerite Vachon was one of uncle Myc’s acquaintances, from where, I still have no idea.
Marguerite preferred that I used her given name instead of the formal, Madame Vachon.
“Je ne suis pas ancient,” was her favourite line and reminded me quite a lot of Nana.
“I am not ancient, dear,” was a statement Nana had used every so often.
Marguerite was a petite and elegant woman. Her hair was cut in a bob, coloured black with a few red stripes. I never saw her without lipstick or makeup. She always wore bespoke dresses and high heeled shoes. I deduced that she was far more than a landlady. When I left for school in the morning, I could hear her sing or talk on the phone, and when I returned, she always opened her door and inquired about my day.
“She’s clearly spying for Mycroft,” Papa’s voice told me.
And there was something about her, which I couldn’t put my finger on. Something mysterious, secret, perhaps even dangerous.
***
It seemed like Marguerite had my schedule memorised. Not that I’d given her the information, but when she slipped, I got my suspicions confirmed. To be fair, it wasn’t slipping per se. She couldn’t have known that class was dismissed early that day.
Luckily, I spotted her and was able to hide behind a wall before she saw me. I’d almost missed her, because she wasn’t wearing her normal dress and high heels, but red trousers, a white and blue-striped jumper, and white trainers. Instead of one of her posh handbags, she had a dark blue canvas bag diagonally draped over her chest.
Papa had taught me a few tricks when it came to the fine art of following people without being discovered. I’ve never had much use of them obviously, but now I saw an opportunity. How I would explain this and apologise if I was caught, never crossed my mind.
I was sceptical when Marguerite walked to the metro station, but I was able to get into the same carriage as her, and it seemed that she had no idea she was being followed. She got off three stops later and walked in the direction of the big Père-Lachaise cemetery.
A fitting location for obscure and shady affairs.
Marguerite knew where she was going, walking briskly but not hurried. I had walked the premises several times before and knew where she was headed when I saw the grand tomb of Sir Richard Wallace, the British baronet who contributed millions to the Parisian poor during the Siege of Paris in the early 1870s.
This reeked of another posh Brit I knew.
When Marguerite had placed a folder by the tomb and another woman picked it up five minutes later, I had a hard time keeping myself composed. The woman picking up the folder was the French equivalent of Anthea.
I sent uncle Myc a text when both women were out of sight.
Thanks for keeping track on me, but this thing is like being part of a French noir film. You can tell Papa I think you’re both growing sentimental, and I demand an apology!

Françoise Hardy
Icon of 60s music who sang of love as a source of ‘wretched, profound, endless questioning’
Françoise Hardy, who has died of cancer aged 80, shot to fame as part of France’s génération yé-yé, the jaunty transatlantic and cross-channel collision between French chanson and American rock’n’roll that also produced Johnny Hallyday and France Gall. But from the start, there was something that set her apart: a wistfulness, a sentimental self-reflection, a poise that belied a lifelong shyness and insecurity. A 60s icon, as big, for a while, in London as in Paris, Hardy was, in many ways, the antithesis of that restive, revolutionary decade.
Unlike her contemporaries, when she sang of love it was about “suffering and frustration, illusion and disillusion; wretched, profound, endless questioning”. Her songs, she told Le Monde, were a necessary outlet: “I wrote about my experience … A beautiful, melancholic melody is what best transcends the pain.”
Men fell, in droves, for her timid beauty. Mick Jagger described Hardy as his “ideal woman”. David Bowie, “passionately in love” for years, courted her backstage, in dressing gown and embroidered slippers. In 1964, the sleeve notes of Another Side of Bob Dylan featured a whole poem “for françoise hardy/at the seine’s edge”. (Two years later, after a concert at the Olympia music hall in Paris, Dylan invited the singer to a party in his suite at the George V, one of the capital’s grandest hotels. In his bedroom, he played her two tracks from Blonde on Blonde: Just Like a Woman and I Want You. Hardy always insisted she was so starstruck she never got the message.)
But the love of Hardy’s life, the father of her son and the agonising inspiration for many of her songs, was the French singer and actor Jacques Dutronc, whom she met in 1967 and married in 1981. The couple separated in the 90s, but never divorced, remaining on good terms. “Love is a remarkable force, even if its price is perpetual torment,” she said. “But without that torment, I would not have written a single lyric.”
Hardy was born in Nazi-occupied Paris, in the same maternity clinic at the top of the rue des Martyrs in the ninth arrondissement that had delivered Hallyday a few months earlier. Her mother was Madeleine Hardy, an accountant, and her father, Pierre Dillard, was a company director who was married to another woman. Françoise grew up in a two-room apartment nearby with her sister, Michèle, born 18 months later, and a solitary mother with whom Françoise had a “fusional, symbiotic relationship … I loved her probably too much – exclusively, unconditionally”. The girls rarely saw their father, who often neglected to pay his share of their upkeep and was regularly late with the modest fees for their Catholic education.
Weekends were spent with grandparents – notably an “egocentric, narrow-minded, frigid and emasculating” grandmother – outside Paris; many childhood holidays with friends of her mother’s in Austria, to learn German. Shy, dreamy, deeply ashamed of her unconventional family, Hardy turned to the radio, where in the late 50s, on the English service of Radio Luxembourg, she encountered a music – Presley, the Everly Brothers, Brenda Lee, Cliff Richard – that “affected me more than anything else. That ended up changing my life.”
Aged 16, she asked for a guitar for passing the first part of her baccalauréat. A year later, having passed the second part with honours, she taught herself a handful of chords “that produced most of my songs over the next 10 years”, and began writing. At the Sorbonne, studying German, she auditioned, unsuccessfully but not disastrously, for one record company, and started singing lessons.
Hardy’s contract with Vogue Records – who wanted “a female Johnny Hallyday” – was signed on 14 November 1961. She made her first TV appearance, in black and white on the state broadcaster’s only channel, six months later, and released her debut EP, featuring three songs of her own and a cover of a Bobby Lee Trammell song.
Her breakthrough came, rather incongruously, on the night of Charles de Gaulle’s October 1962 referendum asking voters whether France’s future presidents should be directly elected. In a musical interlude while the nation awaited the result, Hardy performed a track from her EP, Tous les garçons et les filles. The nation loved it. The song (sample line: “I walk down the streets, my soul in sorrow”) became a monumental hit in France, spending a total of 15 weeks at No 1 between October 1962 and April 1963 and becoming a million-seller. Within weeks Hardy was on the cover of Paris Match, plunged, still in her teens, into the whirlwind of the swinging 60s (which she detested: she disapproved of casual sex, avoided drugs, and could only ever remember being drunk twice).
Her first boyfriend, the photographer Jean-Marie Périer, ensured her picture – miniskirt, white boots, long hair, signature fringe – went around the world. Courrèges, Yves Saint Laurent and Paco Rabanne competed to dress her, for seasons at the Olympia in Paris, the Savoy in London, and shows in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, Canada and South Africa. In New York, William Klein photographed her for Vogue. Roger Vadim, Jean-Luc Godard and John Frankenheimer cast her in films.
The hits flowed, recorded – some in London, produced by Charles Blackwell – in French, English, German, Italian, some written by Hardy, others not.
But at the end of the 60s, barely five years after she began, Hardy abruptly gave up performing live, and the cinema. “I hated what it all involved,” she explained. “Being separated from the man I loved, the waiting, the solitude, depending on the phone. And I’ve never been able to act. I can’t simulate, or lie. Songwriting, on the other hand … dives deep.” Life in the fast lane, she declared, was “a gilded prison”.
But she continued recording, releasing a dozen bestselling albums in France, of which she always cited La Question (1971), a sophisticated collaboration with the Brazilian musician Tuca, as her favourite. She duetted with French artists Henri Salvador, Alain Souchon and Benjamin Biolay, and later with Damon Albarn and Iggy Pop.
Hardy was never very interested in politics (she decamped to Corsica with Dutronc for the duration of les événements of May 1968, whose student leaders she distrusted), although she had strong opinions about questions such as abortion. Hardy was, however, fascinated by astrology, writing two books on the subject.
She continued to work in later life, despite claiming that her 1988 album, Décalages, would be her last. A string of new recordings in the 1990s and 2000s, a 2008 autobiography, Le Désespoir des Singes (the title apparently derived from a monkey puzzle tree in the Bagatelle gardens near her Paris flat, because its sharp, spiky leaves reminded her of “men who have caused me despair”), and her last album, Personne d’autre, released in 2018, appeared despite family and personal tragedies: Hardy was at her mother’s side when, suffering from Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease, she died by euthanasia in 1994.
Hardy herself was diagnosed in 2004 with lymphoma, eventually recovering after an experimental form of chemotherapy – but only after she had been hospitalised, in an induced coma, in 2015. Three years later, another tumour was detected, this time in her ear. In 2021, she told the magazine Femme Actuelle (by email; she said she could no longer talk) that she would like to be able to choose to end her life, as her mother had done, and in 2023, in an interview with Paris Match, called on Emmanuel Macron, the French president, to legalise assisted dying.
Shortly before that second diagnosis, in 2018, Hardy reflected on a career that had brought pretty much every award French music can offer (plus a medal from the Académie Française), telling the Observer she had always been surprised that people – “even very good musicians” – had been moved by her voice.
“I know its limitations, I always have,” she said. “But I have chosen carefully. What a person sings is an expression of what they are. Luckily for me, the most beautiful songs are not happy songs. The songs we remember are the sad, romantic songs.”
She is survived by Dutronc, and by their son, Thomas.

I have a very certain look for each of the sunbabies in my fic so if anyone is curious and wants to know more, click in the read more for detailed descriptions and their ~approximate faceclaim~ (aka not age accurate, but how I imagine they'll look when they're older)
(Also this got long IM SORRY)
Will: shaggy curly blonde hair that gets more sun bleached in the summer months. A darker golden in the winter, but more angelic halo gold in the summer. Dark blue eyes with a golden heterochromatic center that looks like the sun's rays. A dimple in his right cheek. Once got an ear pierced by his older sister but never wears it. Relents and lets his younger sisters paint one (1) pinky nail gold. Tall and lanky, but stronger than he looks. Stylized sun tattoo in golden ink on his skin. Deeply tanned, but considerably paler in the winter. Long fingers perfect for ring wearing (he never does bc of the infirmary). Delicate looking features, but a boyish delicate. Clear laughter, thick southern accent, voice is slightly gravelly with a bit of vocal fry, but not too much.
Faceclaim I use for him in my head: Gavin Casalegno, specifically in "The Summer I Turned Pretty"
Tumblr media
Kayla: ginger hair cut short into a mid length bob, homemade dyed green ends. Bright and clear blue eyes with a golden center like Will's (and all of the Apollo siblings) like the rays of the sun. Paler, but covered in tons of freckles. Muscular from archery training, could knock you out in one punch. User of claw clips to keep her hair out of her face in the infirmary. Doesn't really have an accent, but you can hear her Canadian accent slightly on certain words like "about". On the shorter side. Always has lots of bandages on her fingers from archery and cutting herself on her arrow fletchings.
Faceclaim I use for her: Sadie Sink
Tumblr media
Austin: dark skin, warm brown eyes with the Apollo Kid Center. A higher thin voice, very New York accent. Lanky like Will, but won't be nearly as tall as him. Likes to wear gold rings on his fingers. Wears his hair in braids or locs most of the time, sometimes puts gold accessories in them. Still very childlike in his face since he's one of the youngest kids. The best posture in the cabin, can often be found with some musical instrument in hand.
Faceclaim I use for him: Caleb Mclaughlin
Tumblr media
Now into the ~semi canon and OC kids~
Anteros: very lithe figure, almost delicate and breakable looking until he's yelling at you in the infirmary. Normally has brown hair, but currently dyes it a silver/white blonde. Piercing blue eyes with The Golden Center, flecks of green as well. Pierced nose on the left side, uses either a gold ring or a sun shaped stud. Enjoys painting his nails with his younger sisters. Higher voice, very Valley (Girl) boy California accent. Would not be caught dead without his Eyeliner. Obsessed with his daggers, is very dangerous, do not piss him off.
My faceclaim I use for him: Troye Sivan
Tumblr media
Yan: semi canon. Athletic build, probably the "buffest" Apollo kid. Dark brown almost black eyes with a darker Golden Center. A gazillion piercings in his ears, his favorite being a dragon cuff. Probably will get a lip piercing. The emo kid people think Nico is. Longer shaggy black hair he keeps pulled back in a ponytail with loose bits hanging out. A smile that says "I have done something and you will never know what." Can be found with a leather jacket with a aroace flag lapel button. Enjoys morning runs because he's a masochist. Oldest in the cabin, but refused leadership because his English isn't perfect and Will had been there longer (he was claimed post Manhatten). Can be found swearing in 3 different Chinese dialects because no one can understand him.
My faceclaim I use: Minghao Xu
Tumblr media
Melody: French Princess. No really. Long floaty blonde hair with an "Aurora curl" to it. Wears lots of bows and ribbons in her hair. Would not be caught dead without makeup on. Very delicate, regal gait. Was a ballerina and it shows. Has a very thick French accent and switches languages constantly when she forgets the English word for things. The world's biggest lesbian, loves her girlfriend very much. Very girlie, very sweet, Will kill you if you piss her off. Craves violence (jokingly... unless?) Dimples in both cheeks. Green and Blue eyes with The Golden Center. Smile that could blind a person. Very. Short. Pocket sized.
My faceclaim I use: Sabrina Carpenter
Tumblr media
Sohee: the cutest baby angel you will ever see. The youngest camper in Apollo Cabin. Wears ribbons and bows in her long straight black hair. Light brown almond shaped eyes with The Golden Center, look almost amber in the sunlight. Dimples in the tops of her cheeks. Has never wanted a day in her life. Would be the last to die in a zombie apocalypse because everyone else would protect her. Brightest laughter you've ever heard, like tinkling bells. Has a slight Korean accent, but not super noticeable unless you're listening for it. Looks like she could be knocked over by a strong wind, but she will kick your ass even though she's ten. Freckles splashed across her nose, and a beauty mark under her left eye. Long eyelashes she bats to get her way.
Faceclaim I use: Hyein Lee
Tumblr media
Gracelynn "Gracie": semi canon. Cutie patootie little blondie. Looks the most related to Will. Pretty blue eyes with The Golden Center. Definitely has a Mormon raised mom and you can tell by the way she dresses. Her hair is more wavy than curly, but you can tell it WANTS to curl, but is too heavy. Always looks like she's about to take flight. Pale, but millions of freckles everywhere. Always has a blue headband in her hair. Permanent "I'm terrified" expression on her face. Evil witch giggle you can hear from a Mile Away and it is SCARY. Best swimmer in Apollo Cabin.
Faceclaim I use: McKenna Grace
Tumblr media
I will probably make this for some other important non Apollo Kids, but for now, this is too long as it is

THE SWINGING SIXTIES

The Supremes
They were not only the most commercially successful female group of the '60s but among the top 5 pop/rock/soul acts of that decade. Diana Ross, Mary Wilson, and Florence Ballard had a mature, glamorous demeanor that appealed equally to teens and adults. Beautiful, musically versatile, and unique, the original Supremes were America's sweethearts.

Edie Sedgwick
The original 'it girl' inspired Bob Dylan and Andy Warhol, and was the toast of the New York art scene with her bouffant blonde hair, vintage chandelier earrings and by wearing nothing but a leotard and tights.
Tumblr media
The Designers
London's fashion sector existed until the 1960s in the shadow of the renowned Parisian couturiers. Paris served as the centre of global fashion, specialising in tailored clothing for a fantastically wealthy, elite group of women. But all of a sudden, as the youth market expanded, London started to lead the pace.
Thanks to a handful of up-and-coming young designers trained in the couture tradition, Paris has maintained its edge. Fashion firms like Saint Laurent, Cardin, and Courrèges discovered how to appeal to younger customers. They established ready-to-wear shops and concessions in department stores and produced "space age" clothing that was quickly imitated on the high street.
Tumblr media
The youth market was enormous in the US, and department stores made millions by importing London fashions. But retailers also recognised the boutique's potential. Local stores that catered to affluent customers by selling unique, cutting-edge designs thrived, notably in New York.
Tumblr media
Andrè Courrèges
André Courrèges
The French designer is best known for introducing the revolutionary space look- featuring white boots, goggles and boxy dresses designed in futuristic metallic shades, high shine fabrics such as PVC. His look was a blend of avant-garde geometry with sports classic driven by the youth culture.
Tumblr media
Pierre Cardin
Became famous for his brightly colored mini dresses. At the time his garments were "avant-garde" he like other designers at the time was heavily influenced by “Age" movement. His design style is mainly geometric shapes and colours.
Tumblr media
Paco Rabanne
The Spanish born designer made a name for himself in the 1960s with his space-age inspired fashions. He used materials such as metal, aluminum, plastic, plexi glass and even fiber optics. He was the first fashion designer to use black models in a catwalk show. As a result, he was almost thrown out of the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, the governing body of Parisienne fashion.
Tumblr media
Givenchy
Responsible for the iconic little black dress that is essential to every woman's wardrobe and dressing the most elegant ladies of the time such as Audrey Hepburn, U.S. first lady Jacqueline Kennedy, Princess Grace of Monaco; Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor and socialite Babe Paley.
Tumblr media
Yves Saint Laurent
Shift dresses and pea coats became YSL trademark styles. In 1965, colour blocking made its entrance in the world of fashion, when Yves Saint-Laurent introduced the colour block dress, inspired by the works of the famous painter, Piet Mondria.
Tumblr media
Emilio Pucci
Is best known for colorful psychedelic prints, especially for headscarves and dresses. In 1962 the world lost screen siren Marilyn Monroe. It's believed that she was buried in one of his dresses. Monroe was a huge fan of his work which can be clarified by the volume of Pucci garments in her personal collection displayed at Christies in 1999 prior to auction. Although an already established designer, Pucci saw an increase in sales in the sixties which he attributed to Miss Monroe and her popularity.
Tumblr media
The Birth of the Hippie
(1960-70s)
Originally used to designate beatniks who had settled in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury neighbourhood, the word hipple is derived from the hipster. The hippies sought for alternate lifestyles. The majority of hippies cherished independence, nature, closeness, peace, generosity, and spirituality.
Tumblr media
Nudity was another expression of freedom that hippies used to set themselves apart from society's norms. They frequently stayed in parks or set up camp in the woods, discarding their belongings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All throughout, people wore tight-fitting bell-bottom jeans, preferably with flower patches and ankle fringe, T-shirts, or just a skimpy halter top. All of the peasant blouses complemented jeans. Anything handcrafted was considered an accessory, and many of them had peace symbols. Popular shirts and dresses had floral prints that stood for peace and love.
In general, people dressed in a way that they believed represented who they were as individuals and not only to follow the rules of fashion. For instance, both sexes wore their hair longer and it had an unruly, uncared-for appearance. This was in response to the mid-60s girl in the miniskirt who had neat, short hair.
Tumblr media
Woodstock 1969
At Woodstock over 250,000 hippies showed up to hear artists like Janis Joplin, The Who, Canned Heat, The Allman Brothers, and County Joe and the Fish. Woodstock was not just a music concert. It was a "profound religious experience."

The controversy of drugs
The most popular music of the time was psychedelic rock. Many of concerts were places for lippies to protest, socialise, dance, or take drugs. Drugs like marijuana and LSD were a big art of the hippy/counterculture movement. Using drugs made hippies feel like the were belling from mainstream society.

super unhinged rainbow magic post 10 of 12
I was a music kid so I have a lot of opinons about instruments and Vibes, they may not be correct but here they are, also small lil backstory shit will be mixed in here muahahaha
MUSIC FAIRIES
hurray no necklaces!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Poppy
That is some amazing hair!
FEDORA ALERT BABEY
Painfully 2000s - KELSI FROM HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL
She 1000% borrowed the waistcoat from Tasha (tap dance fairy)
Needs a shirt underneath tho cos Poppy is not as confident as Tasha
That being said the chosen shirt is a Disgusting colour (what’s wrong with white bruh louise the lily fairy had the same problem)
I appreciate that belt resembles a stave, but i don’t LIKE it
LOW WAISTED FLARESSSSS ARE BACK WOOHOOOO
This should be a black and white ensemble to complement the vibrancy of her hair
Tumblr media
Ellie
Has just graduated from acoustic to electric, she’s slightly scared of it lmao, but she eventually will buy a midnight blue guitar and her whole vibe is gonna end up being a lil bit darker
Top half shows she started playing acoustic - the shrug cardigan and sparkly stripy top have primary school vibes I’m sorry
Bottom half is brilliant and ready and raring to go - Doc Martens, tights, poofy petticoated skater skirt
That bisexual bob is a new haircut - currently she hasn’t figured out she’s bi but she’ll work it out soon - there is one girl and one boy that play bass guitar in the band and she’s gonna look at them and go oh shit
Tumblr media
Fiona
Sandals with ballet straps! BADDEST of bad bitches
Colour scheme is gorgeous! The silver and blue work so well, I especially love the blue-black braids
Belt is so 2000s it hurts but she is WORKING IT
This is exactly how i thought she was gonna look
Really really cute outfit well done best one yet
No necklace HURRAY
Bit worried about where her wand is but we reckon she tucks it into her ballet ribbons
Tumblr media
Oh Danni, Danni, Danni
1) the background is weirdly christmassy and i don’t like it
2) why is the outfit Like That? she’s a solar pannelled bitch - she wishes it was solar punk but it’s not, plus the 3/4 length leggings are too short
3) why is the hair Like That? the colour, the style, UGH
This is not gay enough for a percussionist of the female persuasion!
She’s better than that shitty little drum kit and her drumsticks are too damn short
FIX HER
Band shirt, flannel, skinny jeans, doc martens, solar panel belt
Messy high ponytail, no fringe, wand tucked behind ear/into ponytail
Full drum kit (bass, three cymbals, two snares and a tom tom) and a timpanny, a tambourine (dancing queeeeeeeeeen), and a vibraslap in the background with normal-sized drumsticks
Tumblr media
Maya
70s groovy
I like her hair but not the headband
I can’t decide whether or not i like the dress, it’s giving weird kooky music teacher vibes - I love the colour scheme tho
Her shoes are really cute!
That’s not a big enough harp for her, we are so disappointed - we’ve stopped being one person so we can double our disappointment
It’s not even pretty it’s ugly as fuck
You gotta be elegant to play the harp babe i’m sorry
You are groovy - you gotta have a sexy instrument! I’d give her a trombone of a french horn for some lower brass representation but she could also absolutely pull off a sax or a clarinet
Tumblr media
Victoria
SHE DOESN’T PLAY THE VIOLIN SHE PLAYS THE FIDDLE she’s a country bitch and she plays on the taylor swift song ‘mean’
She knows exactly who she is and she’s rocking itttttt
Alexander Rybak was in love with THIS fairytale
FINALLY SHE’S ACTIVELY USING HER WAND TO PLAY THE INSTRUMENT
We finally understood the assignment bitches
Sweepy fringe? Streaks of purple? Shoulder length messy? BEAUTIFUL
The 2000s have been condensed into this outfit - I weirdly like it tho
The embroidery on the jeans is my fave part
Colour of the boots is questionable at best but forgivable cos she’s a hoedown throwdown queen
We were on such a high with Victoria :(
Sadie
That is an oddly proportioned sax (alto? Soprano? Who fuckin knows)
Colour of hair is yuck make it darker
Headband is… a choice
I don’t like the green but the turquoise and blue colours are cute ig?
Dress is cute! Triple layer colour changing skirt!
Cardigan looks fuckin RAGGED bruh, what is it meant to be? An artistic interpretation of a treble clef??? HUHHHH also it’s ugly
I do quite like the boots it has to be said even though, once again, white boots on principle? Nein
She does have the weird girl woodwind vibes so well done ig
FIX HER
Darker hair with a wispy side fringe (like Victoria)
NO FUCKING CARDIGAN, a demin jacket instead (navy or black) with gold sparkle embroidery
Make the dress all blue, going from dark to lighter

Pierrot and different clown types.

The Pierrot is a stock character of 17th century Italian origin. The Pierrot appears in pantomime and 'commedia dell'arte'. He often bears wide, white and loose clothing with a large hat similar to that of a dunce hat. He also wears a large frilly collar and has black, fluffy balls on most of his outfit.
Commedia dell'arte is an early form of professional Italian comedy theatre which commonly represents stock characters. Pierrot was a known figure in the improvised performances.
Stock characters are also referred to as character archetypes, they are a type of character that are widely recognised across many different kinds of stories and media as belonging to a certain genre. For example, the 'damsel in distress', the 'Knight in shining armour' belong to a certain genre, similarly to the 'dumb blonde' or 'mean girl'. These can often be pushed into being called 'cliches' or just considered bad writing, however I personally don't think they are, because the characters can be used for dramatic effect and drive a story forward.
These archetypes can often come off as stereotypical or be blatant stereotypes, for example there are character archetypes that are racially motivated and may be offensive types for the purpose of humour. They can also be offensive to certain people such as 'dumb blonde', as this can be a mysoginistic stereotype that gets projected onto blonde women outside of theatre.
The Pierrot has been portrayed in many different ways and his character differs depending on the country.
In Italian media, the Pierrot is portrayed as the character who is often associated with unrequited love and naivety. He is often portrayed as pining for thr character Columbine, yet he is doomed with heartbreak. This leaves him as a symbol of angst, disillusionment, tragedy, love and false happiness. He wants to have Columbine, but he never will. He explores the theme of love and loss, as well as being used by artists for years in theatre, literature, poetry, music and art.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, Pierrot can also be portrayed in ways that are the complete opposite, or they simply use his theme and name. For example, Pierrot Le Fou featured in the anime Cowboy Bebop.

Instead of a black pupil on the left and a white one on the right, hers is a white pupil on the left and a black one on the right. Her default outfit is a white t-shirt, white shorts and small white socks. And if that sounds bland, she has a handful of alternate outfits, including urban causal wear and a safari outfit, which you can get them from the costume gacha.
Windy can be a shy and lazy introvert who stays in her madly decorated apartment bedroom with posters of boy bands and vtubers on her bedroom walls, and a busy-looking desk. She however always sticks with her sibling when she's out and about. She's a playable character but she cannot be obtained from the character gacha.
She has a light Australian accent with a spoonful of Korean essence.

TRIPLE FEATURE
No Exit
Tumblr media
Rehab
The self absorption of addiction
Rehab or jail
Mom sick
She busted out/ stole a car
Storm hit
Local community center opens up
She found the girl in the truck
Already promised to get her out
Dennis haysbert has been outside twice and woke be the prime suspect
What's wrong with BS?
Lol you never played BS ?
Bruh what that's not how you play
It's an allowable variation though
The problem with this variation of the game is if you flop back and forth it's easier to spot a liar and easier to keep track whereas if you go in order you would have to remember what was played 52 cards ago
She's trying to get intel on everyone via the card game
The weirdo stereotype has an explosion loosing at cards
She decides it's him and tries to dial 911
No one has had service the whole time obvs snow storm
So so busts into the car
The girl has a medical band but i didn't catch it
The guy busts in but she is very small and hides under junk in the big ass creeper truck
He's talking violent
Until he leaves
He has a gun
This guy seems borderline
He finally notices the footprints from the van
The issue is
Dennis haysbert character is ex military and now that she knows it's not him why didn't she just tell him as soon as she found out???
Fake kiss to throw him off the scent
Okay she told the young man
He still thinks it's her though
Why wouldn't they tell the ex military man
Knew it was him from jump obvs the attractive one 🙄🙄
Upset the stereotypical mentally disturbed guy is involved though
They did play it that they didn't know each other the whole time though
Why would her silly butt not just go back into the main room with them??
There's something to be said about addiction and being alone and not asking for help
Okay second time silence being afraid to reach out for help has resulted in someone not being rescued
Yea this is literally just an inability to reach out
The girl dips and they use our protag as bait to smoke her out but it's a literal snow storm they can't find her
Mr and ms common sense go outside and find the girl
So now the protag the nurse the ex military have the girl
But the girl is half frozen and needs her meds now it's a stand off
The kidnappers threatening to burn the center down they got a gas can
Completely plausible i have a gas can in my lil car they got a old van goin over a mountain
These boys are being put up to by their uncle (not actual foster dad)
OMG she's in on it
Apparently the girl is a little shit
And the wife is a maid for the rich family
The marine gambled all their money away
Like the house and everything
Another everyone's in on it
But in a better way
They are trafficking the kid
Boom he shot everybody quick
Knew he would get popped, too useful
The ex nurse current maid
Nailed gunned her to the wall ooof
Like in the wrist though major artery
Brutal
I'm 100% for the attractive guy being the villain but also two murders is hot like you gotta be a real sociopath for that or very disregulated he wasn't either they should have like advertised that a bit
Ooof
Just got a text her mom died
I think he thought that would break her but this dumbass doesn't realize that just freed her up to be wreckless
Nothing to live for
Her pending texts obvs went out when the mom text came in
About the kidnappers to her sis
Lol not snorting the coke she found in the car as a pain numbing agent
Shes free
He really does care about his brother
She's holding him hostage
WHOA the lil girl swiped at him holding the nail gun it went off hit the brother in the head
Woah now it's getting silly he tripped on the blood of the other two bodies face planted and the nail went in the rest of the way
Cop arrived
Her dumbass (or coked up ass) shot him while the cop was there so obviously he shot her
Shes a bad shot the brother shoots the cop
He goes back to finish protag but she knofes him
(after some more implied sexual assault via gun)
Protag should be dead but she is on coke so maybe not feeling too much
She radioed for help i would say they would have found them anyway the cop would be missing but possibly not before they all bled out/ froze to death
48 days rehab now
Her sister finally visits after a month under her belt

Bob Dylan Has a Lot on His Mind
In a rare interview, the Nobel Prize winner discusses mortality, drawing inspiration from the past, and his new album, “Rough and Rowdy Ways.”

A few years ago, sitting beneath shade trees in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., I had a two-hour discussion with Bob Dylan that touched on Malcolm X, the French Revolution, Franklin Roosevelt and World War II. At one juncture, he asked me what I knew about the Sand Creek Massacre of 1864. When I answered, “Not enough,” he got up from his folding chair, climbed into his tour bus, and came back five minutes later with photocopies describing how U.S. troops had butchered hundreds of peaceful Cheyenne and Arapahoe in southeastern Colorado.
Given the nature of our relationship, I felt comfortable reaching out to him in April after, in the midst of the coronavirus crisis, he unexpectedly released his epic, 17-minute song “Murder Most Foul,” about the Kennedy assassination. Even though he hadn’t done a major interview outside of his own website since winning the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016, he agreed to a phone chat from his Malibu home, which turned out to be his only interview before next Friday’s release of “Rough and Rowdy Ways,” his first album of original songs since “Tempest” in 2012.
Like most conversations with Dylan, “Rough and Rowdy Ways” covers complex territory: trances and hymns, defiant blues, love longings, comic juxtapositions, prankster wordplay, patriotic ardor, maverick steadfastness, lyrical Cubism, twilight-age reflections and spiritual contentment.
In the high-octane showstopper “Goodbye Jimmy Reed,” Dylan honors the Mississippi bluesman with dragon-fierce harmonica riffs and bawdy lyrics. In the slow blues “Crossing the Rubicon,” he feels “the bones beneath my skin” and considers his options before death: “Three miles north of purgatory — one step from the great beyond/I prayed to the cross and I kissed the girls and I crossed the Rubicon.”
“Mother of Muses” is a hymn to the natural world, gospel choirs and military men like William Tecumseh Sherman and George Patton, “who cleared the path for Presley to sing/who cleared the path for Martin Luther King.” And “Key West (Philosopher’s Pirate),” is an ethereal meditation on immortality set on a drive down Route 1 to the Florida Keys, with Donnie Herron’s accordion channeling the Band’s Garth Hudson. In it he pays homage to, “Ginsberg, Corso and Kerouac.”
ImageDylan says he doesn’t think about mortality in a personal sense: “I think about the death of the human race.”Credit...William C. Eckenberg/The New York Times
Perhaps someday he’ll write a song or paint a picture to honor George Floyd. In the 1960s and 1970s, following the work of black leaders of the civil rights movement, Dylan also worked to expose the arrogance of white privilege and the viciousness of racial hatred in America through songs like “George Jackson,” “Only a Pawn in Their Game,” and “The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll.” One of his most fierce lines about policing and race came in his 1976 ballad “Hurricane”: “In Paterson that’s just the way things go/If you’re black you might as well not show up on the street/Unless you want to draw the heat.”
I had a brief follow-up with Dylan, 79, one day after Floyd was killed in Minneapolis. Clearly shaken by the horror that had occurred in his home state, he sounded depressed. “It sickened me no end to see George tortured to death like that,” he said. “It was beyond ugly. Let’s hope that justice comes swift for the Floyd family and for the nation.”
These are edited excerpts from the two conversations.
Was “Murder Most Foul” written as a nostalgic eulogy for a long-lost time?
To me it’s not nostalgic. I don’t think of “Murder Most Foul” as a glorification of the past or some kind of send-off to a lost age. It speaks to me in the moment. It always did, especially when I was writing the lyrics out.
Somebody auctioned off a sheaf of unpublished transcripts in the 1990s that you wrote about J.F.K.’s murder. Were those prose notes for an essay or were you hoping to write a song like “Murder Most Foul” for a long time?
I’m not aware of ever wanting to write a song about J.F.K. A lot of those auctioned-off documents have been forged. The forgeries are easy to spot because somebody always signs my name on the bottom.
Were you surprised that this 17-minute-long song was your first No. 1 Billboard hit?
I was, yeah.
“I Contain Multitudes” has a powerful line: “I sleep with life and death in the same bed.” I suppose we all feel that way when we hit a certain age. Do you think about mortality often?
I think about the death of the human race. The long strange trip of the naked ape. Not to be light on it, but everybody’s life is so transient. Every human being, no matter how strong or mighty, is frail when it comes to death. I think about it in general terms, not in a personal way.
There is a lot of apocalyptic sentiment in “Murder Most Foul.” Are you worried that in 2020 we’re past the point of no return? That technology and hyper-industrialization are going to work against human life on Earth?
Sure, there’s a lot of reasons to be apprehensive about that. There’s definitely a lot more anxiety and nervousness around now than there used to be. But that only applies to people of a certain age like me and you, Doug. We have a tendency to live in the past, but that’s only us. Youngsters don’t have that tendency. They have no past, so all they know is what they see and hear, and they’ll believe anything. In 20 or 30 years from now, they’ll be at the forefront. When you see somebody that is 10 years old, he’s going to be in control in 20 or 30 years, and he won’t have a clue about the world we knew. Young people who are in their teens now have no memory lane to remember. So it’s probably best to get into that mind-set as soon as we can, because that’s going to be the reality.
As far as technology goes, it makes everybody vulnerable. But young people don’t think like that. They could care less. Telecommunications and advanced technology is the world they were born into. Our world is already obsolete.
A line in “False Prophet” — “I’m the last of the best — you can bury the rest” — reminded me of the recent deaths of John Prine and Little Richard. Did you listen to their music after they passed as a kind of tribute?
Both of those guys were triumphant in their work. They don’t need anybody doing tributes. Everybody knows what they did and who they were. And they deserve all the respect and acclaim that they received. No doubt about it. But Little Richard I grew up with. And he was there before me. Lit a match under me. Tuned me into things I never would have known on my own. So I think of him differently. John came after me. So it’s not the same thing. I acknowledge them differently.

Why didn’t more people pay attention to Little Richard’s gospel music?
Probably because gospel music is the music of good news and in these days there just isn’t any. Good news in today’s world is like a fugitive, treated like a hoodlum and put on the run. Castigated. All we see is good-for-nothing news. And we have to thank the media industry for that. It stirs people up. Gossip and dirty laundry. Dark news that depresses and horrifies you.
On the other hand, gospel news is exemplary. It can give you courage. You can pace your life accordingly, or try to, anyway. And you can do it with honor and principles. There are theories of truth in gospel but to most people it’s unimportant. Their lives are lived out too fast. Too many bad influences. Sex and politics and murder is the way to go if you want to get people’s attention. It excites us, that’s our problem.
Little Richard was a great gospel singer. But I think he was looked at as an outsider or an interloper in the gospel world. They didn’t accept him there. And of course the rock ’n’ roll world wanted to keep him singing “Good Golly, Miss Molly.” So his gospel music wasn’t accepted in either world. I think the same thing happened to Sister Rosetta Tharpe. I can’t imagine either of them being bothered too much about it. Both are what we used to call people of high character. Genuine, plenty talented and who knew themselves, weren’t swayed by anything from the outside. Little Richard, I know was like that.
But so was Robert Johnson, even more so. Robert was one of the most inventive geniuses of all time. But he probably had no audience to speak of. He was so far ahead of his time that we still haven’t caught up with him. His status today couldn’t be any higher. Yet in his day, his songs must have confused people. It just goes to show you that great people follow their own path.
On the album “Tempest” you perform “Roll on John” as a tribute to John Lennon. Is there another person you’d like to write a ballad for?
Those kinds of songs for me just come out of the blue, out of thin air. I never plan to write any of them. But in saying that, there are certain public figures that are just in your subconscious for one reason or another. None of those songs with designated names are intentionally written. They just fall down from space. I’m just as bewildered as anybody else as to why I write them. The folk tradition has a long history of songs about people, though. John Henry, Mr. Garfield, Roosevelt. I guess I’m just locked into that tradition.
You honor many great recording artists in your songs. Your mention of Don Henley and Glenn Frey on “Murder Most Foul” came off as a bit of a surprise to me. What Eagles songs do you enjoy the most?
“New Kid in Town,” “Life in the Fast Lane,” “Pretty Maids All in a Row.” That could be one of the best songs ever.

You also refer to Art Pepper, Charlie Parker, Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk, Oscar Peterson and Stan Getz in “Murder Most Foul.” How has jazz inspired you as a songwriter and poet over your long career? Are there jazz artists you’ve been listening to lately?
Maybe Miles’s early stuff on Capitol Records. But what’s jazz? Dixieland, bebop, high-speed fusion? What do you call jazz? Is it Sonny Rollins? I like Sonny’s calypso stuff but is that jazz? Jo Stafford, Joni James, Kay Starr — I think they were all jazz singers. King Pleasure, that’s my idea of a jazz singer. I don’t know, you can put anything into that category. Jazz goes back to the Roaring Twenties. Paul Whiteman was called the king of jazz. I’m sure if you asked Lester Young he wouldn’t know what you’re talking about.
Has any of it ever inspired me? Well yeah. Probably a lot. Ella Fitzgerald as a singer inspires me. Oscar Peterson as a piano player, absolutely. Has any of it inspired me as a songwriter? Yeah, “Ruby, My Dear” by Monk. That song set me off in some direction to do something along those lines. I remember listening to that over and over.
What role does improvisation play in your music?
None at all. There’s no way you can change the nature of a song once you’ve invented it. You can set different guitar or piano patterns upon the structural lines and go from there, but that’s not improvisation. Improvisation leaves you open to good or bad performances and the idea is to stay consistent. You basically play the same thing time after time in the most perfect way you can.
“I Contain Multitudes” is surprisingly autobiographical in parts. The last two verses exude a take-no-prisoners stoicism while the rest of the song is a humorous confessional. Did you have fun grappling with contradictory impulses of yourself and human nature in general?
I didn’t really have to grapple much. It’s the kind of thing where you pile up stream-of-consciousness verses and then leave it alone and come pull things out. In that particular song, the last few verses came first. So that’s where the song was going all along. Obviously, the catalyst for the song is the title line. It’s one of those where you write it on instinct. Kind of in a trance state. Most of my recent songs are like that. The lyrics are the real thing, tangible, they’re not metaphors. The songs seem to know themselves and they know that I can sing them, vocally and rhythmically. They kind of write themselves and count on me to sing them.
Once again in this song you name a lot of people. What made you decide to mention Anne Frank next to Indiana Jones?
Her story means a lot. It’s profound. And hard to articulate or paraphrase, especially in modern culture. Everybody’s got such a short attention span. But you’re taking Anne’s name out of context, she’s part of a trilogy. You could just as well ask, “What made you decide to include Indiana Jones or the Rolling Stones?” The names themselves are not solitary. It’s the combination of them that adds up to something more than their singular parts. To go too much into detail is irrelevant. The song is like a painting, you can’t see it all at once if you’re standing too close. The individual pieces are just part of a whole.
“I Contain Multitudes” is more like trance writing. Well, it’s not more like trance writing, it is trance writing. It’s the way I actually feel about things. It is my identity and I’m not going to question it, I am in no position to. Every line has a particular purpose. Somewhere in the universe those three names must have paid a price for what they represent and they’re locked together. And I can hardly explain that. Why or where or how, but those are the facts.
But Indiana Jones was a fictional character?
Yeah, but the John Williams score brought him to life. Without that music it wouldn’t have been much of a movie. It’s the music which makes Indy come alive. So that maybe is one of the reasons he is in the song. I don’t know, all three names came at once.
A reference to the Rolling Stones makes it into “I Contain Multitudes.” Just as a lark, which Stones songs do you wish you could’ve written?
Oh, I don’t know, maybe “Angie,” “Ventilator Blues” and what else, let me see. Oh yeah, “Wild Horses.”

Charlie Sexton began playing with you for a few years in 1999, and returned to the fold in 2009. What makes him such a special player? It’s as if you can read each other’s minds.
As far as Charlie goes, he can read anybody’s mind. Charlie, though, creates songs and sings them as well, and he can play guitar to beat the band. There aren’t any of my songs that Charlie doesn’t feel part of and he’s always played great with me. “False Prophet” is only one of three 12-bar structural things on this record. Charlie is good on all the songs. He’s not a show-off guitar player, although he can do that if he wants. He’s very restrained in his playing but can be explosive when he wants to be. It’s a classic style of playing. Very old school. He inhabits a song rather than attacking it. He’s always done that with me.
How have you spent the last couple of months home-sheltered in Malibu? Have you been able to weld or paint?
Yeah, a little bit.
Are you able to be musically creative while at home? Do you play piano and tool around in your private studio?
I do that mostly in hotel rooms. A hotel room is the closest I get to a private studio.
Does having the Pacific Ocean in your backyard help you process the Covid-19 pandemic in a spiritual way? There is a theory called “blue mind” which believes that living near water is a health curative.
Yeah, I can believe that. “Cool Water,” “Many Rivers to Cross,” “How Deep Is the Ocean.” I hear any of those songs and it’s like some kind of cure. I don’t know what for, but a cure for something that I don’t even know I have. A fix of some kind. It’s like a spiritual thing. Water is a spiritual thing. I never heard of “blue mind” before. Sounds like it could be some kind of slow blues song. Something Van Morrison would write. Maybe he has, I don’t know.
It’s too bad that just when the play “Girl From the North Country,” which features your music, was getting rave reviews, production had to shutter because of Covid-19. Have you seen the play or watched the video of it?
Sure, I’ve seen it and it affected me. I saw it as an anonymous spectator, not as someone who had anything to do with it. I just let it happen. The play had me crying at the end. I can’t even say why. When the curtain came down, I was stunned. I really was. Too bad Broadway shut down because I wanted to see it again.
Do you think of this pandemic in almost biblical terms? A plague that has swept the land?
I think it’s a forerunner of something else to come. It’s an invasion for sure, and it’s widespread, but biblical? You mean like some kind of warning sign for people to repent of their wrongdoings? That would imply that the world is in line for some sort of divine punishment. Extreme arrogance can have some disastrous penalties. Maybe we are on the eve of destruction. There are numerous ways you can think about this virus. I think you just have to let it run its course.
Out of all your compositions, “When I Paint My Masterpiece” has grown on me over the years. What made you bring it back to the forefront of recent concerts?
It’s grown on me as well. I think this song has something to do with the classical world, something that’s out of reach. Someplace you’d like to be beyond your experience. Something that is so supreme and first rate that you could never come back down from the mountain. That you’ve achieved the unthinkable. That’s what the song tries to say, and you’d have to put it in that context. In saying that though, even if you do paint your masterpiece, what will you do then? Well, obviously you have to paint another masterpiece. So it could become some kind of never ending cycle, a trap of some kind. The song doesn’t say that though.
A few years ago I saw you play a bluegrass-sounding version of “Summer Days.” Have you ever thought about recording a bluegrass album?
I’ve never thought about that. Bluegrass music is mysterious and deep rooted and you almost have to be born playing it. Just because you are a great singer, or a great this or that doesn’t mean you can be in a bluegrass band. It’s almost like classical music. It’s harmonic and meditative, but it’s out for blood. If you ever heard the Osborne Brothers, then you know what I mean. It’s an unforgiving music and you can only stretch it so far. Beatles songs played in a bluegrass style don’t make any sense. It’s the wrong repertoire, and that’s been done. There are elements of bluegrass music for sure in what I play, especially the intensity and similar themes. But I don’t have the high tenor voice and we don’t have three-part harmony or consistent banjo. I listen to Bill Monroe a lot, but I more or less stick to what I can do best.
How is your health holding up? You seem to be fit as a fiddle. How do you keep mind and body working together in unison?
Oh, that’s the big question, isn’t it? How does anybody do it? Your mind and body go hand in hand. There has to be some kind of agreement. I like to think of the mind as spirit and the body as substance. How you integrate those two things, I have no idea. I just try to go on a straight line and stay on it, stay on the level.

Dirty Laundry pt. 2
And now for another installment of Angel Face or The Tragedy of an Entrepreneur. But before that....... let’s recap. Angel Face had a morning chat with her pimp/bf/abuser Escrow who has told Angel Face to do his laundry. Kind of a lame chore to be given to her. Especially when he’s always complimenting her on her wits. But I guess favors do go a long way in this world. Some start for our entrepreneur. But then again everyone needs a start. Did you know that the word entrepreneur is actually french in origin? It derives from the french word entreprendre which means to undertake. On google it says it’s a combination of entrependre and enterprise which is english and means a business or company. An undertaking of a business or company. Go figure! Anyways, back to Angel Face and her story.
Dirty Laundry Part 2 Angel Face slammed the door on her way out of the house and walked down the two step porch. “Don’t slam my door Angel Face!” Escrow yelled from his barred bedroom window still puffing away at his menthol. Angel Face slung the gym bag over her right shoulder and started the walk to Miss Jane’s house. It was only a few blocks away. She walked down the street and passed KK Kitchen, a restaurant Escrow, Angel Face, and Escrow’s other girls would often order take out from.  She kept walking and eventually reached 88th street. A squad car passed her by very slowly. A young white cop in the passenger seat of the squad car with a handlebar mustached lowered his shades and gave her “the look”. Angel Face was used to being gawked at. She had always been a looker. She was nicknamed Angel Face for a reason. She had the face of a model. She resembled an actress. Like Alexa Demie but with less make up and a choppy bob hairstyle. She looked naive and innocent walking the streets alone. However, her innocence was a front. But not a put on front. Angel Face was known to surprise people and even herself at times. A case of being too smart for her own good. The cop flashed a smile. Angel Face with a rare for the projects white smile on her face pretended to look away in shyness. “How you doing miss?” the cop said. As the squad car rolled by. Angel Face flipped her hair and giggled as she walked out of view of the cop and up the street. The cop laughed as well and pushed his shades back up. She adjusted the gym bag still slung on her right shoulder and jay walked across 88th street without giving the squad car a second glance. She walked passed some front yards filled with chained barking pit bulls before she arrived to Miss Jane’s. When she finally made it. Miss Jane was sitting on a chair on her front porch. She was busy breaking down some weed to roll a joint. She lit the joint as Angel Face walked onto her front lawn. “Que queres?” Miss Jane yelled at Angel Face. “Escrow needs his laundry done” Angel Face said as she took the gym bag off her shoulder and held it up for Miss Jane to see. Miss Jane puffed her joint. “Jor one of Escrow’s slaves?” Angel face made a sour face. “I’m not a slave! Look can you do the laundry or not?” I think he threw some soap in here too. It’s pretty heavy.” Miss Jane quickly got up and took the gym bag from Angel Face. She looked inside the bag. “Dado a una nina. Como se pasa este.” Miss Jane said as she looked in the bag. “Ju wait right here” Miss Jane said. Angel Face scowled.  She snatched the bag from Angel Face and disappeared into her house.“Don’t start all your Spanish shit-talking. You know I can’t understand that shit. I may be Mexican. But we don’t talk the same language! English por favor!! Angel Face clapped the last couple of syllables. In a few moments she heard the sound of the laundry machine turning on and the thumping of its cycles. Miss Jane returned with a black bag filled with something. She also had some beers for Angel Face. Miss Jane looked off into the distance and rushed towards Angel Face. She stuffed the black bag down her pants. “Hey!” Angel Face exclaimed. At that same moment cop sirens could be heard. Without looking back. Angel Face took off into Miss Jane’s house. The beers fell to the floor and shattered. Miss Jane raised her hands and screamed “I don’t know herr. I don’t know herr.” Angel Face ran out the backdoor of Miss Jane’s house. She leapt onto the backyard fence as the laundry machine continued to thump away. Angel Face landed in an alley as the police questioned Miss Jane and searched her house. Angel Face ran down the alley. Heaving and panting. “Goddamn fucking cops.”
Daaaaaaaaaaamn. Angel Face barely got away there huh? 5-0 was all up in their grill. And what was up with Miss Jane? Old people always be judging. But then again she might know something about Escrow that Angel Face and us don’t. And what was in that black bag Miss Jane stuffed down Angel Face’s pants? I mean that’s like sexual harassment or something. It definitely ain’t cool. You never know in the 310. Anyways until next week friends or rather next time. I’m kinda tired and I think this is all the writing I’ll be doing today. But stay tuned for another Installment of Angel Face or The Tragedy of an Entrepreneur.
