Thats right, my Daydream Nightmare Ref come out! You’ve seen him around, and also in aggies. But darn its been like 6 months since Dream’s Reference post and we’ve now got Plot, Lore, more characters, the struggles of design and an name for the AU! UnderREM Anyway like in Dream’s post, this AU is based on Dreams. And how one can perceive and use that. Because like the mind interesting, dreams have access to memory, repressed, unconscious and consciousness. However this would only be the Dream Guardians and the Royalty themselves having that inheritance and access to such. We’ll get to that later. Daydream Nightmare altho most call him Nightmare (aside Royalty and Tsiuri). Not out of malicious intent of others but like ‘Well Dream is Dream and nightmares are dreams so Nightmare it is’. Theres a comic somewhere for this one. He’s normally very sweet, easy going as UT Sans, however not as lazy. When Cursed he’s very.... reclusive, quiet, and antisocial. Yeah, he’s not very evil. He has an interesting in gardening and once use to tend to the roses.

Like Dream, He can also go into dreams, manipulate them to a degree and sort of his own clouds altho only during his cursed form. When he’s cursed tho he can enter dreams only to turn them into nightmares or Worse. The mist around him is intangible. Its like normal mist except it influences your dreams. They CANNOT hold or touch things. Theyre not arms, just foggy mist. The cloak he wore before.... Was literally a cloak until he bestowed it upon Dream, who then modified it. He isn’t home much at all after the curse consumed him, he does peek back. But mostly keeps his distance. Yeah also the Pink and Blue. I love it and its pretty much just sleeping beauty nonsense lol You dont wanna know how long it took for us to get to that final color. And even longer for me to look at his cursed form going ‘theres something missing’. At the very least those terrible puffy sleeves are gone. And yes, some concept art! And no not all of it. Oh not all of it.

So the first concepts were me trying to figure out a palette and shape. These first two are from august. Also not the first. I really like the gooey/misty doodle i did however. We get rid of the Goo and the Teal. Thankfully.
