I did this simplified loose value study based on John Singer Sargent's Portrait of Albert Belleroche just as a warm up. I did it without wearing my glasses so that I was really only able to work with dark and light and not be too concerned with the details. It's a mile out proportionally but I enjoyed the process. I think I'll so more.

Another quick warmup piece. I sometimes practice drawing very closely to reference to build my life drawing skills alongside my normal loose style.
