Ayato's footsteps echoed softly against the wooden docks, his thoughts drifting lazily. The journey to Ritou had been productive yet tiring, and the cool sea breeze offered a welcome respite from the diplomatic affairs he had been preoccupied with.

As he neared the familiar sights of the docks, something caught Ayato's attention—a towering figure, unmistakably an Oni, standing amidst the bustling activity. With a faint smile playing on his lips, Ayato diverted his path towards the Oni, his guards trailing behind him like silent shadows. Approaching Itto with measured steps, Ayato halted a respectful distance away, his posture relaxed yet poised. He held out one of the boba teas towards the Oni, the vibrant colors of the drink contrasting against the muted tones of the docks.

"Itto," Ayato greeted warmly, his voice carrying over the sounds of the bustling harbor. "How have you been? And how's everything going here?" He inclined his head slightly.

The Oni would roll his shoulders after placing a few crates of cargo down near the vendor who had ordered it, a grin playing at his lips. He'd be blissfully unaware of Ayato's elegant, yet quick footsteps growing ever closer to his towering form. While he was aware of just who Ayato was, he'd never been corrected on how he referred to the other male, but should Lord Kamisato ever ask it of him, he'd treat him as a man of his station was commonly treated.

The sound of footsteps growing closer would draw his attention away from the water he'd been gazing at for a few moments, a brow lofting upward upon sunset hues taking in the sight of the boba held in an elegantly gloved hand. He took note of the colors within the cup before striding forward the grin upon his visage widening slightly before he opted to speak.

"Ayato, bro! What brings ya to Ritou?"

He'd take the offered drink without worry, boba could be made in many flavors, he knew this, but he was likely able to discern the fruity flavor that the cup held within going by the outer packaging. He knew how to open the beverage, despite not partaking of it himself that often, not due to not liking it, but because he never thought about it. He might genuinely need to change that at some point in the future. Once the offered drink was within one of his large, clawed hands, he'd take the straw and puncture the top properly.

"I've been doin' prett-y good. Things around here are pickin' up, I do more deliveries for the vendors here than the main city now."

The Oni always stuck out like a fairly sore thumb but the people of Ritou never had a negative thing to say about him anymore. Not with how helpful he'd been. He helped unload cargo ships that came into port and he took the time to deliver the good to each vendor they belonged to. Sometimes the boys from his Gang were with him helping out to the best of the capabilities, though human as they were, they couldn't lift nearly as much as he could.

realistically water bc that's what i drink the most throughout the whole day, maybe some (black or herbal) tea during colder months! i can't do caffeine sadly so that excludes a lot of fun little drinks, but every now and then i'll have some boba or some other sweet sugary beverage :3c

cut fruit!! atm it's a lot of watermelon but i'm already looking forward to when persimmon are back in season ahh. i also always have a bowl with salted sunflower seeds somewhere next to me but they're engraved in my dna so i don't really register snacking on them anymore lmao

What’s the gang’s go-to drink order? Could be anything from soda to ultra complex coffee order to boba to 5 hour energy shots

Jay: *nods* Soda. Doesn't even have a particular favorite; he just likes the carbonation.

Cole: Some high class fancy thing the others cannot even pronounce nor name the ingredients of that his attendants would make him in childhood; due to this fact (on top of its PRICE) he settles for boba...or mooches off others' drinks.

Zane: Warm white tea! It doesn't really do anything for him, but it was a favorite of both Wu and Aurora, so, y'know.

Kai: Trenta strawberry caramel macchiato, double caramel extra strawberry, half whole half almond milk, one pump vanilla, dual shot of espresso, double blended, extra hot, clockwise drizzle on the side with a curl, stirred counter-clockwise, shaken gently three times, dab of foam, fluffed whipped cream scooped not sprayed on top, touch of cinnamon, hint of chocolate sprinkles, with a round lid, paper cup, and a twisty straw. (ref to this if anyone's curious)

Nya: A TALL GLASS OF WATER (....or hibiscus iced tea if Wu isn't around)

Lloyd: A Milkshake. Usually chocolate. Also, no matter how much he begs, do not let him have an energy drink (he has enough energy and it kinda screws with him)

Olivia: You'd think she likes fruit smoothies (and she does) but she also has a huuuuge kick for chocolate-peanut butter smoothies on the down low. You wanna butter her up? There ya go. Pun totally intended.

Jesse: Hot chocolate (with whipped cream, a hint of cinnamon, a peppermint straw, and made with milk not water preferably <3)

Antonia: Coffee (but like, 10% coffee and 90% flavored creamer. Flavor changes by the day.) Also likes boba.

My ocs! I finally got around to compiling general info about the main ones I have (there are a LOT of others but they're more like named side character/NPCs that get introduced as the story I have for these guys goes on)

Lemme list off the five I have most developed rn, which form the team .wav(E) (pronounced "dot wave"):

Cora

Bold, brash, but quite cute (her words)

A bit of a firecracker

Her curiosity is as vast as her energy and wit

Has the cutest smile

Left the underground since the Inkantation and had spent a significant time adjusting to the surface culture (long before meeting her buddy Luke)

Has a secret passion for dancing, especially pop and hip-hop (very sharp sense of rhythm)

Lives and dies by Slosher. Until she has to pick up a secondary main in Squeezer too. And Tri-slosher. And Wiper.

Does gardening on the side. There are little succulents dotted around her apartment, about 8 in total

Cooks the most often out of the team, specializes in pan-fried dishes and stews

Likes hot tea (prefers herbal over fruit teas tho)

Had a fruit tea drink one time (it was a peach tea) and didn't like it at all. Had a sourness that detracted from the warmth that she normally likes from drinking hot tea, so she avoids them now

Cass

Captain of the team

Full name 'Cassidy', people usually alternate calling her between the two

Most connections to everything

Level-headed, abundant charisma (puts the rizz in charisma haHA), rarely phased by anything

A big sister of sorts to Cora. Cora took to Cass really well when she recruited her and her friend Luke after random queuing in Salmon Run and the like

Flexes anything, but will mostly stick to Blasters. Has been interested in both Tri-Stringer and Reef-lux as of late tho

Works part time at a boba store (the one where the team gathers together fully for the first time)

The boba shop's name is called Roomba Boba, which has little Squee-G bots that roam around and sometimes deliver drinks or carry napkin holders. Naturally, they're also really good at mopping up spills

Has also had many odd jobs in the past, including being a camp counselor at Camp Triggerfish and [CLASSIFIED]

She's really good with kids, always gave me those peppy young adult/senior-in-high-school vibes that always know how to hype up a crowd

Cooks just as well as Cora, but feels more in tune with baking than cooking. She comes over to her apartment to help make meals sometimes.

Tobias

Neighbor and teammate of Cora, whom he develops a firm kinship with since their first encounter at the first team meetup

Also goes by 'Tobes' or 'Tobo'

Looks reserved, but is very easy and sociable to talk with

Did stakeout in the military, and thus has the worst sleep schedule of the team out of habit

Loves tea as well, especially herbal tea. Has a dislike for coffee though.

Favors backliners as per his role on the team, but is also killer with Octobrush and Stamper

Works part-time at Ammo Knights (weapons maintenance)

Gives the best hugs

Enjoys meticulous work such as mechanical tinkering and Gundam building

Likes to take off his glasses when he's eating or needs to decompress

Luke

Cora's Turf and Salmon Run buddy prior to forming .wav(E) with Cass

Favors Brellas

The least composed of the team, screams a lot when jumped in battle

Overall, is one the that gets meme'd on the most lmao

Favorite candy is pop rocks. This information revolts Cora and Tobes.

Likes learning and making mixed drinks in his free time

Incidentally, is the heaviest drinker of the bunch

Loves Clam Blitz so much, he'll even play it on his own (pain and misery)

Rooms with a bunch of other rando inklings who aren't home often

Wears nail polish the most often out of all the members (the others like to as well, but not always since they get lazy sometimes)

Joins very late to the group (about halfway through the gang's Splatoon 3 arc), but signifies a meaningful development for most of the peeps

A reflection of "sweaty try-hards" who complain and tilt over their teammates (Me that was me, for a while....a dark time....)

Sweaty dualies main, is proficient with most dualies

Has a swear and an insult for every time something goes wrong in a match, especially when random queuing

Incidentally, has the biggest potty mouth out of everyone

Has a soft spot for strawberry milk (it calms her down)

Will sit down with a book or even a manga from time to time

Is actually very down to earth outside of league battling and has an overall calm and kind personality, albeit a bit cynical at times

About her encounter with .wav(E): Cass finds her at Roomba Boba one day (the boba shop she works at) and notices her being super down

So she sits with her and listens to her problem. It was a rather personal rmoment for her.

Hira's time in .wav(E) will be crucial to her improvement as a player mentally, not just mechanically, especially considering what happened with her last team

Much of her personal growth is inspired by the time she spends bonding with Cora, who also ends up being positively influenced in various ways

Rumors among the Octarians tell of a battalion that had fallen tragically in a battle with outside factions prior to the Inkantation Inkcident; nearly all members wiped out due to poor negligence and ill preparation. The few that were skilled enough to survive the ordeal moved on to serve and be decorated with honors among their newer ilk. Their festering resentment towards incompetence and inefficiency remained even after liberation, however.

i mean as we all know, giorno is definitely the most normal out of the group and therefore i personally headcanon that he has the most normal bubble tea order lol

he probably doesn’t enjoy it as much as some of the others, but still orders whenever the group goes out for bubble tea

maybe if he’s feeling really fancy he’ll go for the roasted milk tea but honestly it’s pretty hit or miss depending on the store

so to be safe he’d probably just stick to something normal

chatime 💀 no offence to anybody who goes there, feel like the majority of people who would choose it over other stores are people who haven’t tried other places…

but i think giorno’s fine with that. it’s definitely convenient since there are locations everywhere and the drinks are fairly consistent too.

i genuinely cannot picture him ordering bubble tea

idk i generally believe that anyone can enjoy it but this man?? this man?

and honestly it does get pretty expensive so he’s getting as much of the drink as he can get

does the alley serve any coffee drinks? no but based purely on aesthetic, it’s definitely a type of place i could see him going to. the music is always good and actually played at a normal volume, people are usually there to work or are generally pretty quiet, and there’s the tiniest amount of sunlight possible

brown sugar milk tea or thai milk tea with tapioca and pudding

extra sugar and no ice

please get him and narancia away from all bubble tea stores

is the type of person who peels the lid off of the cup and probably eats the boba with a spoon

is doing it so that he can count the number of pearls and make sure it’s not 4 or a multiple of 4

sex pistols love bubble tea too, they’re probably the ones asking him to get it for them

also a big believer in the less ice = more drink = more value theory (which he probably got from abbacchio)

but while abbacchio understands why cold drinks have ice in them, mista does not

and italian summers are not playing so you know that 5 minutes after he’s gotten his drink it’s going to be lukewarm and his tapioca is still hot

bonus: bubble tea store i think he’d go to

i can see both him and narancia liking kung fu tea and coco. mostly because they’re affordable and have pretty normal options, but are generally more interesting than chatime. but i think narancia would gravitate more towards kung fu tea and mista towards coco since king fu tea focuses more on fruit based drinks and mista would probably think it’s less worth it than a milk tea

strawberry cheese green tea with osmanthus jelly, peach jelly, and crystal boba

okay so i may or may not be biased because this is the drink that i usually order

but i feel like out of the entire gang, fugo and bucciarati are probably the most familiar

and we know fugo has taste because he likes strawberry shortcake, so why not a drink that’s basically liquid strawberry?

he definitely has very bougie preferences, probably likes herbal or “healthy” toppings like bucciarati

only difference being he tends to go for strawberry flavours instead of actual tea

despite his preferences, he’s probably tried every drink out there for research purposes

probably has a spreadsheet with different stores, their drinks, and ratings for things like their atmosphere, customer service, drink to topping ratio, etc

all in all, the most seasoned boba enjoyer

bonus: bubble tea store i think he’d go to

as the only store that sells this drink (and also my personal favourite), i think that his favourite would be shuyi tealicious. it has a lot of drinks and toppings that are hard to find outside of taiwan and has a very curated feel to it that i think fugo would enjoy. the store’s aesthetic is also bright and minimalistic, so it’s the perfect place to study

the other half of the probably shouldn’t be allowed to drink bubble tea in public duo

any yakult or fruit drink with rainbow jelly and popping boba

extra sugar, extra ice

has the taste of a toddler and probably the decisiveness of one too

doesn‘t have a set order, he’ll just walk into the store and order whatever catches his eye first

sometimes there are too many things and then he becomes one of those people at the front of the line trying to decide what he wants to order as there are 20 more people after him

probably also thinks out loud, asks the person at the cashier what they recommend, and then goes with the opposite of that

genuinely enjoys and appreciates bubble tea though

he’s probably really into the customization aspect of it and how the combinations are basically endless

definitely not as bad as mista in terms of drinking etiquette, but still makes a mess somehow

i genuinely don’t think he’s ever out the straw in correctly in his life

has probably accidentally stabbed the straw in through the bottom

and broken the cup at least a few times

as i mentioned before, i think kung fu tea would fit his vibes. they have a lot of promotions, fruit flavoured drinks, and also a yakut line. i think out of the entire group he’d also be the most into drinks with honey in them instead of sugar (idk why but hey to each their own)

it’s such a photogenic drink and matches her hair too, so i can definitely see her posting about it a lot

is one of those people who consider bubble tea an accessory, sort of like how starbucks used to be, so her drink must look as cute as she does

i don’t see her experimenting that often, like once she’s found a drink that fits her aesthetic that’s it

but she’d probably also enjoy things like drinks with edible glitter or an ombré effect to spice things up

Subin doesn’t seem like the type of person to throw away money Just Because, but also the type to spend half of her allotted budget on arcade games that are obviously scams 

Actually didn’t realize what it meant to have a black card until she whipped it out at school to buy a soda from the vending machine. The vending machine. Subin is really quite something. 

Usually quite generous in treating for people, but gets stupidly stubborn about it when it comes to Jisuk. 

“You think I’d waste this hard-earned money on you?!” “That isn’t even your money, you stingy bitch.” 

Half of the expenses is covering Wooin’s food. 

Jisuk called Subin Wooin’s “sugar mommy” once and he ended up in the hospital for a week 

Both she and Jisuk are planning to cover Jiwoo and Wooin’s tuition if/when they head into college

Considering both Subin and Jisuk’s positions, it make a lot more sense for Subin to have a black card and not Jisuk 

Subin was described to be treated like a princess, and never had much discipline enforced on her. A black card probably would’ve been one of the first things she was given once she was able to speak. 

The reason Jisuk wouldn’t have a black card? Jiyoung is a damn strict sister. I think she wouldn’t approve of Jisuk spending money recklessly despite his status, and although allows him to use the Shinwha budget, he has to get her approval first and get money loaned to him (as seen when he asks Jiyoung for an allowance) 

She’d probably enforce more sensible ideals onto Jisuk, and a black card is way out of the question. I don’t think Jisuk would even care or want a black card, either. Maybe it’s more convenient, but other than that, it doesn’t matter to him. 

That is, until Subin started flexing that stupid little black piece of plastic, and nothing gets Jisuk going more than feeling inferior to Subin. 

(Spoiler alert: He never got a black card, and sulked about it for weeks) 

She has lent her card to Wooin and Jiwoo several times-which started becoming an even more common occurrence when she figured out their means of transportation. Although they are regularly sponsored by Shinwha and the Union for flights and carrides, they’re still unaffiliated, which means they don’t exactly sit in the lap of luxury. 

Anyways, Subin changed that. Whenever they’re travelling somewhere, she has literally sneaked her card into their pockets so they can use it to get the best rental cars, hotels and airlines (all of which are benefits of having a black card) 

They keep on telling her it’s too much, but homegirl deadass Does Not Care. You call it spoiling her friends, she calls it expressing her affection. 

The type to use her black card for free trials, then completely forget to turn it off after the 30 days and get charged

Narancia loves to experiment with new foods, so he would try some bubble tea as soon as he can.

The first time he tries it, he is annoyed and confused by its taste, he isn't a fan of sweet things, but since it is balanced with other elements, the boy isn't bothered by it.

Narancia doesn't like it at first, but he tries a second time with another flavor and ends up enjoying it.

After that, no one can stop him. Ghirga constantly buys and drinks it. It ends up being one of his favorite drinks.

The weird sensation makes him love it even more.

He tries to make a member of the gang try it too.

Giorno is fine tasting new foods, but bubble tea is something that he never thought of tasting. It wasn't something that caught his attention, but when the topic appears in a conversation with the gang, he is willing to taste it the next time he sees it.

Isn't a huge fan of the sensations itself, but likes to bite/chew the boba pearls

When he tried it the first time, he finds the sensation a bit strange but likes it.

He doesn't drink it that frequently but when going out with the gang will buy and drink it.

He loves the fruit-flavored bubble teas.

Leone isn't a fan of experimenting and drinking new things. He also doesn't like creamy and sweet drinks, so bubble tea is something he never thought about tasting.

So the first time he tried is because narancia convinced him.

When the liquid gets into his mouth, he immediately pulls the cup away. He finds its texture extremely annoying and doesn't think about tasting it again.

Genuinely doesn't like it and doesn't see the need to experiment with it again, until one day he decides to give it try with another flavor, still strange.

It will take a lot of time fOr abbacchio to start taking bubble tea. Also, only taste it again a few times.
