Fylass Through the Looking Glass - Chapter Four - Windows of Remembrance
The knights were leading the gang towards the exit with ease, although Twilight Knight in particular was feeling pretty happy to see them again; Fylass really acknowledged how much he loved them, but sadly, Twilight’s position as a knight didn’t allow him to go with them, even with Dolly’s peaceful kingdom at hand.
Fylass wanted to have a small talk with them, so they silently told the rest of the group to wait for them outside the castle; they agreed, and left them alone with Twilight.
"Hey… How are you?" Twilight spoke up first.
"I am… alright. How are you, too?" Fylass spoke up next.
"Things around here have been pretty nice ever since you… well… you know. I am sorry for not being able to help you back then. I would’ve been devastated to see your head resting on a bloody basket." Fylass remembered what happened back then the last time at the Card Castle, with their head resting on the guillotine, shrouded with fear and hopelessness; sure, they knew this was a dream they had, but that feeling that they might not wake up was still on their mind.
If they didn’t wake up, what would happen to their friends and family? They would be heartbroken for sure, seeing a Fylass that has stopped breathing, and suddenly having to be buried 6 feet under, and maybe even eventually, forgotten. They felt horrible to let that possibility be true, for they thought they were selfish, for that, for this, and for the things they think they did before.
"It’s o-okay. Don’t worry about me, I am not mad at all…!" Fylass stopped with that train of thought, to make a reply to the one that they considered their older brother back in the real world.
"U-Uh, sorry. I don’t know why I am acting like this. We’ve only talked a few sentences back then, and yet, I feel like we’ve met for a long time. It’s weird, I know…"
Fylass was a bit startled by that, but quickly pondered about it; this Twilight Knight was only an effigy of the one Fylass knows pretty well, and even then, it seemed like it was more than that. Was he something else, or was he only the version Fylass wants Twilight to be? They were taking on that "role" perfectly in Fylass’ eyes, but it seemed like this version was taking on that role in a more literal way.
What could be said about the rest?
"...Oddly enough, I feel the same way." That wasn’t really a lie, they loved TK with no limits after all.
"Guess I am not weird then, haha…" Twilight chuckled. "Ah, thank you. Here, take this." The knight took out some tickets from behind his cape. "These are some tickets to the Memory Lane Cinema! Dolly gave us quite a lot of them, so I have many more to give, so I thought it would be good to give some of them to a wonderful person like you!"
"...Wow. Uh… Thank you." Fylass took the tickets with them; they didn’t really know where to use them, but they were happy with them giving off these gifts. It felt real, and that’s what mattered to the kid.
"Hey, uh, I must leave, sorry. Thank you for the gifts, though! I promise to visit you when this is over, okay?"
"O-Oh! Alrighty! See you, Club- I mean, Fylass!"
That felt good, although they also felt sad to have to be reassured that things are okay. Things are okay, right?
Fylass walked out of the castle to meet up with the rest of the group.
"So… are we going?" Mikuto said to Fylass.
"Yeah, let’s go."
"Well, FINALLY! Let’s better find a way out!" Banshee spoke up next.
"...Wasn’t your plan to be sent here to avoid responsibility, or did I understand it wrong?" Unicorn remarked in a snarky tone.
"Oh, shut it!"
The whole group had figured out at this point that these new members wouldn’t be able to comply, or at least, it was sure that Banshee would. Fylass on the other hand, was wondering what did Unicorn mean by that statement, although they weren’t going to ask that question since they thought it would be rude.
"Wait, what’s that in your hand?" Ades asked with curiosity.
"Oh! Twilight Knight gave me these tickets for the "Memory Lane Cinema". I don’t know where that place is, but either way, that’s surely not important."
"Wait, the Memory Lane Cinema?! That place is amazing! You should visit it one of these days! Besides, I am pretty sure that the place we’re going to is right after it, so, win-win!" Damian spoke.
Fylass was interested in that place, and if what Damian said was true, the kid could take advantage of that. They looked at the rest of their friends, and they noticed that Lucid was pretty interested in that place too. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt too much to do something before sending Lucid to his home, right?
"Maybe we could take a short trip there if that’s the case…" Lucid spoke up.
"Well, if you say so…"
"Ugh, come on. This is just making things slower! We might as well leave you guys so me and Unicorn can find the way out faster!"
"I am sure that won’t work. The last time we were alone in this world you tried to kill one of the inhabitants of this world because you thought they were a beast. These people surely know how to lead us to an exit, so we can’t lose this chance."
"FINE! But right after we find the exit, you won’t see my face around here!"
"Not if we would want to see you around…" Kurabe murmured under her own breath, although it was loud enough that everyone could hear it.
"...Wait, what do you mean, find the exit out of this world? You aren’t from Wonderland?" Fylass questioned.
"Uh, no, we aren’t part of this bizarre land." Banshee answered. Fylass tried to rub it off as they meant that they came from another realm, just like Lucid. Maybe Underland too, perhaps?
"Alright, we’ll try to help you go home too. Promise."
"Thank you. You are pretty noble." Unicorn said.
Fylass felt something; a sense of guilt and regret. They nodded silently, and tried to hide that feeling towards the rest.
"...Are you feeling okay?" Lucid said.
"Yeah, don’t worry. I am fine… Let’s just get going, okay?"
The group started to walk towards their location, and they ended up having to cross the circus again to get there. The place was just as before, which wouldn’t be surprising on its own, but Fylass had to be wary; even though the place was calm and happy, in Wonderland, everything could happen.
"Heeeeeeeeyyyy!" A voice was heard in the distance, putting some of the cast on edge. They looked behind, and they saw an individual that seemed like Dark Matter, wearing a nutcracker outfit.
"Oh! Erebus!" Damian spoke up first; Fylass remembered seeing her when hanging out with Damian one of those days; she was quite interesting for sure, a bit scary and somewhat manic, yes, but she didn’t try to kill Fylass or any of their friends, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Guess that Fylass placed her on their head too.
"Why, it isn’t the funny bookworm, Damian!" She snickered as she pulled out a whip just for fun. "Whaddya doin’ around here?"
"Oh! Just trying to help some friends out. We’re trying to get to Underland for a fella right here!"
"Pfft. That sounds cool, shame that I can’t accompany you since I have to be working to pay in terms of work because apparently "murder isn’t fun". It’s a miracle that I am not in the dungeon!"
"If you keep doing it, I’ll make sure that you will." Ades said with a threatening voice.
"Oh, woe is me!~ I am soooooo scared!~" She didn’t seem to care that she was talking like that towards three of the four Suit Bearers in the same place; she really was the same as how Fylass remembered her.
Ades sighed. "Let’s just go to the Memory Lane Cinema." Some of the members of the group were moving forward, although some decided to stop.
"Er, well, excuse me but I think I will stop here!" Selene said with glee. "I am not really that interested in this journey, and considering that the circus reopened, I just want to have some fun with Wisp and the rest of the cats!"
"Oh, sure! No problem. Although, where are they?" Everyone looked in the distance, only to see Wisp trying to chase down Casey and Artemeta, who were terrorizing the visitors thanks to Artemeta’s new appearance.
"...Yeeeeeeah, I better get going. See ya, heehee!" Selene left the group, although no one was sure that she was going to stop them, or join them in mischief.
"Gee, great. Let’s just go." Banshee was losing patience about this, but Fylass tried to walk as fast as possible to their destination, and Lucid was about to smack him down, but only stopped to avoid more discussion; the least he could want at this point was to cause more ruckus, specially with Chaos’ recent attitude; it was strange, as if he remembered something he shouldn’t.
Soon enough, they reached Ades’ domains, which seemed much prettier than before, with the smell of flowers around the area, and a tune resembling jazz echoing through; even though it was pretty, both Ades and Fylass felt a sense of melancholy by only looking at the outside, and both didn’t seem to understand the reason of such, and only being able to keep going to their destination.
"Soooooooo, where do you guys live?" Mikuto asked both Unicorn and Banshee.
"Oh, us? We live in the Saddrac World, although SOMEONE thought that it was a good idea to send us to a random place just to avoid doing their job, and now we are here."
"Well, excuuuuuuuse me for trying to find a way to stop defeating enemies day by day! Things get tiring, you know?!"
"That isn’t an excuse!"
"...Alllriiiiiiiiighty." Mikuto said, trying to end the conversation."
More and more steps were taken further into the land, until all of them noticed something was off; there was a new path that Fylass knew wasn't there before.
"This path should be it, for sure…"
The way was seemingly quiet, with the music gone, and only the sound of birds chirping was being heard; the surroundings wouldn’t be ones of dread, but rather, ones of a warning, and Fylass had the idea that something was, indeed, wrong.
"...Are you okay, kid?" Lucid asked.
"Oh, I am just… thinking."
"If you need help with something, you can ask us, okay? Just saying."
"...Alright."
It was a surprise seeing that the path of dirt leading our group to their destination was slowly starting to resemble a red carpet, and golden fences started to appear in place, and that’s where they saw it; a black building resembling of a cinema and a skyscraper, with the words "Memory Lane Cinema" embedded on that same carpet; its doors were huge, reaching an entire story when looking correctly.
"...Wow…"
"Weeeelcome!" Another voice had spoken, right next to the entrance, and as Fylass approached it, they could see some of their characteristics; a small dragon of blue ice colors, dark blue spikes and kind, black eyes; this description alone could make it seem like a terrifying foe, but he actually looked pretty friendly, although Lucid seem pretty nervous by his mere presence.
"Oh, hi there…!" Fylass said to them. They realized this person was wearing a suit that resembled one of a rich man, and also resembled a uniform for people working in movie theaters.
"Welcome to the Memory Lane Cinema! Can I have your tickets, please?" Fylass remembered the tickets they had in hand, and showed them off to the mister.
"Great! So, all of you can enter. Let me be your guide! My name is Klax, nice to meet you!"
"...N-Nice to meet you too…" Lucid said, stuttering.
The cast decided to enter the movie theater, with Klax as their guide.
The inside was nothing ordinary in the slightest; it practically resembled a mansion, more than an actual movie theater, with lots of hallways on the sides, with the same red carpet on the floor; walls made from a checkerboard pattern of blue and cyan, and movie posters resembling actual curtains; the posters seemed to be slight alters of ones that Fylass had seen in the real world, some were funny looking, others were slightly disturbing.
"Here, we have an insight on all of the movies you are able to watch endlessly, since they never leave your side! Right there, there’s a counter where you can order popcorn and drinks, from tea, to many more!" Klax remarked, as Chaos, Lucid, Kurabe and Fettuccine felt shivers down their spines; they didn’t want to hear anything related to tea.
"...Well… thinking about my last statement…" Banshee spoke up.
"No. We are not staying here for you to watch some movies. I thought that your main goal was to get out, was it?"
"Oh, come on! Let me have some fun!"
"You’ll have your "fun" when we find out our way out."
"...Fiiiiiiine."
Fylass was even more interested in taking a peek at these films, but that interest peaked when they heard Klax’s new statement.
"Also, down that hallway, is the Memory Lane! A set of rooms where you can watch your closest memories in moving pictures! Those happy memories can be watched again, as long as you enter these rooms! Right there, you can find the exit taking the form of the backdoor!"
"...What?! That’s possible?! Well, excuse me, I am leaving to see my movie!" Banshee said as he sprinted towards the hallway to find his room, as Unicorn grumbled, sighed, and went towards him in silence.
"...Would that be true? In that case… I think we can take a little break from going to Underland. I need to see something first." Lucid said.
Fylass nodded in response, as he left. Quickly, the rest of the group left out of curiosity to see their memory rooms; Chaos seemed the most interested though. When Fylass was left alone, they did the same; maybe it was a good idea to take a break, and look at their memory lane. The kid went to the counter, got some popcorn for free, surprisingly, and went towards the same hallway.
Fylass quickly realized this hallway was segmented into many more hallways that seemed to be organized from A-Z, so they figured out that their memory lane would be on F. The kid quickly found it, although, before entering, they were curious about the others’ memory lanes. Klax didn’t state that you weren’t allowed to see memory rooms that aren’t yours, right?
They went towards their hallway to find Fettuccine’s memory room, and they opened the door slightly to see what was inside; the room resembled one of a cinema from the 80’s, and the film was a moment where Fetty was proposed marriage by Meta. Fettuccine was there, silently sobbing tears of joy; she was happy, and so, Fylass was happy.
Afterwards, Fylass went towards Banshee’s memory room; this time, the film was playing a scenario where Banshee was exploring a labyrinth with Unicorn and some other people Fylass didn’t seem to know; Banshee seemed happy, and so, Fylass was happy.
Next, it came to Chaos' room. This time, the film was off, and foggy, only projecting one single image; it was a man, dressed in dark gray clothing, with a golden orb on his chest; the mouth seemingly was moving, but there were no words coming out from it. Chaos was confused, and so, Fylass was too.
Trying to ignore what they just saw, went towards Lucid’s room. The film seemed much older, and it also projected one image; it was Lucid, or well, Shard, making a hat, and next to him, was someone that Fylass didn’t seem to recognize, due to having their face scratched out. Lucid was sad though, and so, Fylass was sad.
Many more rooms came into place, but after a while, Fylass saw most of them, leaving their own room. Fylass entered in it, and sat down in a seat seemingly made for them.
This film seemed much newer than the rest, and it was a collection of snippets of memories that Fylass had with their friends and family. That time when Archie got them their purple PJ’s, that time when Selene, Dolly, TK and Ades got them a plushie, or that time when Dero and them did a friendly fight with Verin, Ava and Damian cheering them on in the background. Fylass was happy.
They were about to leave the room to reunite with the rest, but before they opened the door, a clicking sound was heard from inside the TV film, and they realized the movie had changed.
Fylass was having a different outfit, the one they had when being with their father, Cosmounse, but was covered in blackened blood; they were having a cleaver on hand, and they used it to swing it towards Cosmounse’s face, as Fylass laughed and mocked him, as they said "THAT’S WHAT YOU GET." over and over; the room on the film was starting to be filled with that same blackened blood, and after a deafening scream, the movie ended.
"..." Fylass was tearing up. "Why…? Why am I getting reminded of that, even after all of that time? Why?" Fylass was sobbing, but they quickly hid those tears as they left the room.
Walking down the hallway, they saw the group again, seemingly walking with curiosity.
"Oh! Kid, we’ve been looking for you. Are you alright?" Lucid said again.
"Y-Yeah, I am! Are you okay?"
"Indeed, I am too. Let’s just leave and find that cabin." Fylass nodded as they heard that, and left towards the backdoor exit, although they saw someone else walking down the hallway, Dero.
"Oh, greetings. I should have expected to see you here." He spoke up to the group.
"Hi…" Said Lucid with a death stare looking at Dero. "What are you doing here?"
"Revisiting some memories, although I am about to leave and go towards the Card Castle."
"Alright then! G-Good luck with that!" Fylass said, trying to hide the fact that they were somewhat hurt by what they saw. Dero was about to leave, although he stopped and looked back.
"Pleiades, can I ask you a favor?"
"Hm?"
"Could you go with me towards the Card Castle? As the Diamond, I need to discuss some… matters with you."
"Oh. Sure, although, it better be quick…"
"Wonderful. Fylass, could you go with me as well, when you are done with your journey? You are the Club, and I need your help as well discussing these topics."
"...No problem. I can do that."
"Thank you. Now, Ades, let’s go." Dero said, as Ades left with Dero towards their new destination, and the rest went towards the backdoor exit.
It was pretty, with trees around and around, gray flowers, and a big space that seemed that it could fit a house in that. Fylass used the clock to turn it to 11:59 again, and sure enough, the supposed cabin appeared out of thin air. A gray cabin with rotting wood.
"...This is it, perhaps?"
"We need to figure it out."
Lucid opened the door, revealing a dusty inside, with no furniture, but a table with a chessboard on top, sliced in half, and one of the halves missing was replaced by a checkerboard; both were seemingly stuck together with glue, and at one of the lateral sides leaving the same distance between both sides of the board, was a minute hand from a clock pierced through it; all of the pieces of both sides were there, but the bishop on the chess board was missing.
The interesting part of the inside though, was a giant silver framed mirror that has a sign on top with the words "Looking Glass".
"...Why do I feel attracted to that mirror?" Chaos said.
"Like, in love, or something?" Fetty said, trying to joke with the situation, although she knew exactly what he was referring to. Fylass went closer to the mirror and touched it, revealing that it was crossable like water.
"What the-..."
"Wait, let me try this!" Banshee said, trying to cross the mirror, only to find out that he wasn’t able to. "Oh, come on!"
Chaos was the next to try, and surprisingly, he was able to cross the mirror too.  "Guess that only Suit Bearers can cross it. Oh well…"
"...This must be the entrance to Underland… Are you ready Lucid? Grab my hand guys, so we can all cross this mirror together." Everyone nodded, and grabbed Fylass hand, and step by step, everyone crossed the mirror.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"My Queen, I have news to tell you."
"Hm? What is it?"
"...The Bishop is back."
"...What?"
"The plan needs to start. Now."
"...Are you sure this can help me get both thrones?"
"Yes, I am sure, Queen Majaway."
"...Okay, I trust you…"
"Mister Cosmounse."

When the wrath of the bloodstained moon bathes the sky and washes over the land, the nightmares that burned up our imaginations will come to flesh. (quick follow-up oneshot of @george228732 's Seventh Chapter of Looking Glass :DD)
Reconsiderations
Pleiades opened the door to his house with a sigh, gently lifting Blossom off his head.
Tumblr media
He then sat her down on the couch, letting himself fall on it right beside her, exhaling deeply from his nostrils as he took off his mask.
Tumblr media
He closed his eyes in reflection, resting his right paw on his forehead, then trailing the palm down to his eye, then his cheek, stopping at his mouth, where he just barely covered it, thumb on his chin, his eyes now open, as he thought and thought.
Tumblr media
He got so lost in his doubts that he, in fact, actually started pondering out loud:
"what if this isn't the right way to help them?"
"I mean, heheheh, it's not like I'm that mentally stable either," he wretchedly giggled in sorrowful acceptance;
"still, they must feel so overwhelmed..."
"and... if I were in their place, honestly, I'd feel the exact same."
"I mean, I definitely wanna help the poor kid, I'd do anything, but they might start suspecting something and then feel even worse about themselves. Couldn't there possibly be a different way?"
"it's already hard enough to open up about one's own feelings like that, and to do so only to be treated differently for it?"
"... must feel like shit.."
"...."
"..we're about to fuck up real bad. Oh fucking God..." he shakily exhaled, burying his face in his hands.
Tumblr media
"I gotta call the others. Before things go too far."

Attention everyone! I am proud to announce that chapter seven has been completed, and with that here it is!
Six Times Twilight Knight Was There For His Siblings (and one time they were there for them)
I hope you enjoy :]
There was an air of disbelief after Fylass and Selene had watched their brother shatter every lightbulb in the hallway and then jump out of the window.
Twilight Knight was calm, cool, collected, and only ever had outbursts of rage when someone was threatening their siblings.
Neither of them had ever seen him that afraid.
“Am I dreaming or did that really happen?” The white furred astral asked, breaking the silence.
Fylass sighed, “no, Selene. It’d be pretty weird if we were having the exact same dream.”
The two kept looking at the scene before them, the glass sparkled in the moonlight like stars that had fallen out of the sky. The chimera shivered at the sight of the shards of glass, as memories of a wonderland rose to the surface.
From behind the two, thunderous footsteps came down the hallway.
“What’s going on here?! Is everyone okay? Wher- WHY’S THERE SO MUCH GLASS ON THE FLOOR?!” Bandana Waddle Dee exclaimed, their spear held firm.
Fylass looked at them, unsure of how they were going to explain everything that happened. “Alright, this is going to sound crazy, but-”
“TK jumped through the window.” Selene interrupted.
The hallway grew quiet, “they did what now?” The Waddle Dee asked in a small voice.
“He looked terrified,” the chimera explained, “and I think they thought we were someone else. He also called me ‘Estelle’ for some reason? No idea who they are…”
Bandee thought for a moment, going over the information in their head. “Ok, it sounds like TK’s not in their right mind, and he was scared and probably doesn’t have a plan on where to go.” They thought aloud.
“They probably want to get as far away as he can.” Fylass interjected.
Bandana continued, “the only things that’s out that direction is Cookie Country, Wispy’s Forest, and Orange Ocean.”
The last location that Bandana said sent off bells in Selene’s head, “TK loves the ocean! Maybe he’s going there?”
“That’s a possibility,” the Waddle Dee told her, “but we don’t know for sure, and the last thing that we need is to go the wrong way.”
“What about Dolly?” Fylass asked.
Their siblings looked at them odd for a second, “what about Dolly?”
A second later Selene realized what the chimera had meant, “oh yeah! She lives near Wispy’s Forest, she could tell us if Twi passes by!”
“I’ll call her right now!” Fylass said, fiddling with their phone.
While they called their sister, Selene wondered aloud, “should we tell Dedede and Meta about this?”
Bandana Waddle Dee sighed, “the last thing that TK’d want is to have everyone know about this, but…”
The astral nodded knowingly.
“Alright! Dolly’s gonna be on the lookout.” Fylass told them, joining back into the conversation.
And with that, the room fell into an uncomfortable silence. Which allowed the chimera’s mind to wander to the infinite expanse of ‘what if’s.
What if Twilight Knight gets hurt?
What if they never find him?
What if- ‘deep breaths, Fylass. Calm down.’ They remind themself. ‘it’s all going to be fine’, they told themself.
“I think we should get Kirby.” Bandana Dee told the two, breaking the silence like glass.
The white furred astral nodded, “yeah, that’s probably a good idea. The Warp Star could get us to wherever they’ve gone pretty fast.”
Though before the trio began going towards Kirby’s house, Fylass went back into the room that they’d all fallen asleep in, and picked up the knight’s mask.
Now seeing the mask up close, they now could see that it wasn’t as pristine as they once thought it to be. It was covered in scratches and had what almost looked like marks of a sword going across it.
“Fy, come on! We gotta go!” Someone called from the hallway. Realizing that they’d been looking at the mask for a minute, Fylass put it to their side and the three went off towards the Hero of Popstar’s house.
                        —————————
Gentle clouds drifted across the nighttime landscape, casting shadows where the crescent moon’s light shone just moments before. The Blippers that swam up and down the streams, now slept at the bottom of the river. And after a long day of soaring through the skies, the Birdons now huddled together in trees for some much needed rest.
It seemed that all of Popstar grew calmer under the light of the moon.
All except for the knight barreling through the skies as fast as their wings could take him.
Every coherent thought in their head was screaming at him to keep going, to keep running, to not let her hurt them again.
Below him, the plains that they’d been flying over had begun to morph into a dense forest in almost the blink of an eye. Normally he could tell where they were just by the landscape, but through the haziness that clouded his mind, it seemed like an impossible task.
In the distance, the sound of the sea’s waves breaking on the waves drew them in like a moth to a flame.
The sea always brought back memories of…a lot of things.
“No. Now is not the time.” He snarled to themself. The last thing that the knight needed was to get sentimental about his childhood.
But still the memories kept flowing like a flooded river, carrying the debris of a person that they barely knew.
“That home was a prison- I’m never going back.”
While his mind fought a war against itself, the knight hadn't noticed that while their body had been in autopilot, he’d flown towards the ocean.
The tree line thinned as a sheer cliff face had developed, leaving a small patch of flowers to prosper where the oak trees couldn’t. The moonlight glistened on the surface of the water, cutting through the gloom of night.
After being silenced for so long, their body finally spoke up, professing its fatigue before giving up and landing on an innocent patch of flowers.
Despite the storm of emotion in his mind, Twilight Knight’s thoughts somehow cleared enough to admire the beauty of the night- or at least the beauty that they thought he was seeing, it was hard to tell-. If they weren’t running from Estelle, he would probably take a picture of this for Sailor- she was always painting the most beautiful landscapes and maybe they’d like this one.
From behind them, he could hear the grass rustle, like someone was moving through it, and of course this only meant one thing.
“Estelle…” her name came out without them noticing.
His mother’s voice sounded like the hiss of steam, “oh Lycia I’ve been worried sick about you.” They shuddered when hearing his old name, “I was so happy when I found you! Your little mentor has been…devastated since you never came home.”
The knight’s eyes grew wide, they missed Nicova with all of his heart, but they just….didn’t have it in him to go see their mentor.
Was he really all that upset over him?
“You know, I was actually not that surprised when I heard that you changed identity again.” Estelle started back up again, “Lycia, Lycio, Twilight Knight? Which name are you going by next?”
Her words cut deep.
“It’s true,” her voice felt like it was all around them. “You reinvent yourself every time something goes wrong. Leave behind your identity, and get a new one. Seriously, Moonflower, how many masks are you going to wear before you’re satisfied?”
Fear took over his mind, petrifying the knight where they stood, and suddenly every moment that they tried to forget, was replaying itself again.
He could feel the bruise on their paw that stayed for weeks, he could feel her cold eyes gaze over them while her yells hurt his antennae, they could feel the blood dripping down the side of his face after she’d torn through their skin with her claws.
Twilight Knight’s instincts kicked in, and the next time he opened their eyes, a hemisphere of darkness had formed around him protecting them from Estelle.
Thought still, he could feel her emerald eyes staring at them like an animal.
Panic built in his chest, their breathing became frantic, the shadows around him were closing in. They couldn’t calm himself, everything was crashing down around them- it felt like he was dying.
‘You are dying, this is it.’ Their mind told him. “The butterflies aren’t going to be there. There’s only silence waiting for you.”
“Fy, Selene, Dolly, Kirbs, Bandana, Sailor…” They muttered out into his self-made darkness, “I’m sorry.”

As everyone across Popstar -and the rest of Gamble Galaxy for that matter- knew, Kirby was known for three main things; eating, protecting the galaxy from intergalactic threats, and sleeping
Which meant that when Bandana, Selene, and Fylass saw the light of the hero of dreamland’s house on, they were rightfully surprised.
The trio approached the off-white house, and knocked on the door.
After a minute, the pink astral answered the door, “Hi!” Kirby greeted them with their usual excitement.
Despite the varying levels of anxiety of the group, none of them could resist showing Kirby a little smile.
“Heya Kirbs,” Bandee started, “so listen, there’s a lot going on right now, and we need to borrow the Warp Star.”
The astral looked at the group for a moment, “TK poyo..?” Kirby asked.
Fylass nodded, somewhat understanding what they were saying, “we don’t know what’s going on with them…but it’s going to be ok!” They admitted, half to Kirby and half to themself.
A hopeful look crossed the astral’s face, and a second later -from seemingly nowhere- the Warp Star appeared in all of its shining glory.
Selene threw her paw around her sibling in a half-hug, “Thanks a lot, Kirbs! We definitely owe you big time now!” and a second later, Kirby hugged her back.
Though as they watched the scene play out, Fylass realized that their phone had been ringing.
As fast as they could, the chimera answered the call. “Dolly!” Fylass blurted out, “did you see TK?!”
“Yeah! Dolly saw them fly over her house!” Dolly exclaimed.
Selene interjected, “he’s going to Orange Ocean then!”
While normally, Fylass would’ve been relieved to hear that they were ok, they knew that this was only half of the battle.
“Thanks Dolly, you're the best.”
Though before they could hang up the call, Dolly asked in a much quieter voice, “is TK going to be ok?”
Fylass was quiet as they thought over how they should answer her. They hated the thought of lying to their sister, but the truth also wasn’t going to be pretty.
“Thanks to you, he’s going to be fine I’m sure.” the chimera told Dolly.
A moment later the call ended, and Fylass joined Bandee and Selene on the Warp Star.
Selene and Fylass hung onto the star as it lifted into the air, it moved with such speed that the two thought that they’d fall off at every little moment.
Though as soon as they’d overcome the fear, the chimera looked out over the moonlit landscape of Dreamland. However there wasn’t time to take in the
beauty, they had to get to Orange Ocean quickly.
“How are we gonna see him from all the way up here?” Selene asked.
Bandana kept their eyes to the ground, “keep an eye out for light or weird looking shadows, maybe they’re using his powers?”
Just ahead of the trio, the waters of Orange Ocean expanded as far as any of them could see. However there was no sign of Twilight Knight.
A pit opened up in the chimera’s heart, what if they’d been right, what if the knight was somewhere else, what if he was on the other side of Popstar at this point?
“Hey guys! Are you seeing that?” The white furred astral asked, pointing to a cliff that overlooked the ocean where a shadow swayed with seemingly nothing to cast it.
In an instant their hope had returned, “that has to be them!” The Warp Star pivoted and began moving towards the odd path of darkness.
The three siblings jumped off the magical star, and cautiously moved towards the hemisphere of shadows.
Bandana Dee reached into the darkness that moved and rippled like oil, and upon doing so, their orange fluffed up like they’d gone into a walk-in refrigerator.
Though when they did this, the shadows had dispelled and showed what it’d been protecting.
Upon seeing Twilight Knight, Fylass had to fight their imminent inclination to rush forward and hug their brother. However, Bandana Dee hadn’t done the same.
In a flash, the Waddle Dee had gone to the knight’s side and begun asking them all manner of questions.
“TK, WHAT HAPPENED?! ARE YOU OK? WHY DID YOU JUMP OUT OF THE WINDOW!?”
Though in response, all that the knight did was smile deliriously and laugh, “you talk real’funny mr butterfly…”
Bandee stepped back, “Selene,” they asked the astral, “how long has it been since he jumped out the window?”
Selene thought for a moment, “maybe an hour? Probably a little less though.”
Despite their limited expressions, both Selene and Fylass could see the look of concern on their face.
“What’s wrong?” The chimera asked nervously.
Bandana Dee sighed before walking towards their two siblings. “Ok, you both know that TK’s powers feed off of his emotions, right?”
Selene and Fylass nodded, “and they’ve probably been using his powers the whole time that we’ve been trying to find them.”
It took a moment for Selene to connect the pieces, but finally she spoke up. “So, since TK’s been using his powers for so long, they’re now super delirious..?”
The Waddle Dee nodded, “yeah that’s about it. Though we gotta figure out a way to get them back to Castle Dedede, the guy needs a doctor.”
“I could use my ESP and get them back that way. I’m pretty sure it could work.” Fylass offered.
However Bandee turned it down, “that could work, but TK’s in such a volatile emotional state- the last thing we need is them hurting himself or us.”
Fylass was taken aback by what the Waddle Dee had said. Though before they could say anything, the conversation had moved on.
“Maybe we could try talking to them? That’d probably calm him down.” Selene offered.
Bandana thought for a moment, until nodding, “yeah, I think that’s our best idea.”
The astral nodded, “alright, I’ll go first.” Selene said, looking back towards the knight.
“Hey Fylass,” their sister went on, “be ready to use your powers at any given point. I don’t know if he’s gonna try to fly or not.”
As slow and calm as she could, Selene approached Twilight Knight while Fylass hung back and had their ESP at the ready.
However, he didn’t seem to notice their sister.
The one-sided tension was fierce, but Selene was fiercer.
“TK, is everything alright? You kinda freaked out back at Castle Dedede.”
Finally, the knight acknowledged them, “huh..? Are’ya a ‘utterfly?” He slurred, now looking at their sister.
Selene was confused, “what are you talking about?”
“Well ya’ look’ike ‘em. What with’th wings an all…” he trailed off but came back a second later, “’specially the one in th’back, ya’ look lots’ike Moarin.”
Selene looked to Fylass and Bandana Waddle Dee for instruction, but neither of them knew what to do next. Though a second later, Fylass had an idea and began moving towards where Twilight Knight sat.
‘This better work.’ Fylass thought to themself, “greetings fair knight, it is I, the butterfly, Moarin. How have you been since we last spoke?” They asked putting on the most over dramatic accent they could manage.
“Oh heeeey Moarin,” he replied, seemingly believing the act. “I thought I was ne’vr gonna see ya’ again, evr’since ya cursed me!” The knight giggled, and everyone went silent.
All three of the siblings were stunned, and one collective thought ran through each of their minds; ‘what did they mean by that?”
Though, Fylass was the first one to ask, “Uh- remind me again, what exactly was that curse? It completely slipped my mind.”
Twilight Knight laughed, “you don’t rememb’r? You an’ Morpho gave me ya’ power, an’ in return ya’ took away m’afterlife.”
In only one sentence, the situation went from bad to worse.
However, the astral kept talking, “tho’ I actually gotta t’ank you, I ended up meetin’ my siblin’s cause’a you.” A lopsided smile formed  across the knight’s face.
Choosing to carry on with the topic that he’d started on, Fylass began, “ah yes, your siblings. They’re very worried about you right now, you know. We- I mean they don’t know where you are and they don’t know if you’re ok.”
“I can’t go back- I don’t want ‘em to see m’weak.”
The act Fylass was keeping up had all but slipped in the moment, “you’re not weak though! You’re Twilight Knight, one of the strongest people that I kn- I mean they know!”
He looked down into the ocean, the jagged rocks that stuck out of the water reflecting in their eyes. And for a moment, Fylass thought they were going to do something really bad.
“I ’ad what they didn’t, I ’scaped when they couldn’t. I wanna b’strong for ’em, I wanna b’there for ‘em, I wanna b’what they need.” Twilight Knight said, small tears forming in the corners of their eyes.
“But some days,” the knight continued, “I can’t even b’there for myself. ‘M useless.”
For a minute, everything was quiet. The waves below them faded away, the gentle breeze had died, and Fylass had almost completely forgotten about Selene and Bandee who stood a ways away.
“You’re not useless, you never were, and you’re never going to be that way.” The chimera then sat down by Twilight Knight who kept their gaze fixed towards some point on the horizon.
The knight sighed, “I am ’ough, I’m makin’ everyone worry ’bout me right now. They all ’ave so many things that they’re still recoverin’ from. Ades, Dolly, Kirbs, Selene, Bandee, Sailor, and Fy all lived ’hrough so much worse than I’ve.”
The longer they went on, the more of the knight's speech became slurred. “An ’busive mom, dead dad, abandon’d bes’ friend? That’s nothin’.”
He laughed to themself through the tears as Fylass listened in silent shock, “‘Stelle was right ‘bout me, I only ever brin’ sadness and pain t’everyone. I let Dusk get ‘urt, I let my dad die, and now I’m makin’ all my siblin’s worry about my stupid problems-”
“Stop.” The chimera said, more as an order than anything else. “None of that was your fault. Whatever she said about you- Estelle wasn’t right, she was as wrong as anyone could be.”
A moment later, Selene stepped forward, “if anything, you’ve brought joy to our lives. I never thought that I’d ever have an older brother as great as you.”
“You’ve been there for us so many times,” Bandee began, now standing on the other side of the knight, “let us be there for you this time.”
For the first time of the night, Twilight Knight smiled a real smile, one not caused by delirious but one of happiness. “T’ank ya’guys…I think ’m…gonna take a nap now.”
And with that, the astral went slack and fell back onto the bed of flowers.
Once the high emotions that flooded the area had subsided, immediately the panic set in as Selene, Fylass, and Bandana Dee watched their brother pass out.
The Waddle Dee reached down to try and shake the knight awake, however they realized something that they hadn’t noticed. “Dear Nova, he's burning up! We gotta get them to a doctor right now.”
“How though? He can’t hang onto the Warp Star, and I don’t think we’re all gonna fit on there at once!” Selene spoke up, panic rising in her voice.
Thinking of any way to get them back Fylass thought aloud, “we could get on the Warp Star and I could use my ESP to carry them!”
“It’s gonna be a pretty long trip, and the last thing we need is for you to drain yourself and not be able to hold onto the Warp Star.” Bandee told them.
Anxiety plagued the white furred astral’s voice, “seriously- where’s the Halberd when you need it?!” She exclaimed to some invisible force.
“That’s actually a good idea! I’ll call Sailor right now!” Bandana Dee said, reaching underneath their royal blue bandana and taking out a phone.
However, before the Waddle Dee could dial their sister’s number, Fylass stopped them. “Bandee, I think that’s them.” The chimera said, pointing to a dot on the horizon that got bigger with each second.
                     —————————
The last thing that Twilight Knight could remember falling asleep on the couch with Fylass and Selene. Which somehow translated in them waking up in a hospital bed without his mask and a splitting headache.
In their drowsy and disoriented state, the knight’s mind was brought back to the last time he was in a room like this- the day after they’d defeated Nightmare.
For a second, he almost thought that they were back on that day. That the butterfly’s power was still fresh in his veins, and they were going to keep being a Star Warrior.
But of course, that hope was hit with reality when he remembered that they didn’t know his siblings back then, and the fight with Nightmare was…a good while ago.
They scanned the room looking for his mask, though it was nowhere to be seen. A moment later the door of the room opened, to the sight of two astrals, a living doll, two Waddle Dees, and a chimera.
“Excuse me! The patient is still recovering and isn’t accepting visitors at the moment!” A voice -who the knight assumed was a nurse- called from a ways away.
Upon hearing this, Twilight Knight chuckled, “I’m not accepting visitors? Now you’re just putting words in my mouth.”
Realizing that he was awake, their siblings immediately rushed towards his bed with relieved smiles.
Somewhat unsure of how to respond they gave the best smile that he could manage. “Uh- hey guys! How’s everyone doing?”
A Waddle Dee in a sailor’s hat responded first, “obviously better than you- are you ok?”
“Yeah, I feel completely fine…am I…forgetting something?”
The room went quiet and Selene and Fylass shared a look. “Um, what exactly do you remember?” The chimera asked.
He thought for a moment, but could only recall bits and pieces of what happened yesterday.
“We had a sleepover, fell asleep on the couch watching movies, and…I had a really weird dream about a butterfly, I think?”
Their last comment garnered even more worried looks from Selene and Fylass -and this time even Bandee.
The knight sighed, “Fy, Selene, please tell me if I did something dumb. I have to know.”
“Are you really sure you wanna know?” The white furred astral asked, an awkward look going across her face.
After each moment, Twilight Knight grew even more anxious about what happened.
“Alright last night you-”
Dolly interrupted with her usual bubbliness, “Dolly heard you jumped through a window!”
The knight felt as though he could pass out again.
“…I what.”
Immediately Fylass began trying to explain what had happened, but it felt almost like they were…leaving out details? Though it was probably nothing, their mind assured him. But as the chimera went on, the knight found their attention grabbed by his youngest sibling, Kirby, who extended a flower towards them.
“Is this for me?” He asked, already knowing the answer.
Kirby nodded, and laid the flower on the bed.
They studied the sunflower for a minute, its golden petals had more color than anything else in the obnoxiously white room.
The knight pet Kirby’s pink fur as best as he could, making the rest of their siblings realize that he wasn’t paying much attention to what Fylass had been explaining.
However they didn’t seem to mind. From the doorway of the room, the nurse who everyone had completely forgotten about began speaking again.
“I’m sorry that I have to cut this reunion short, but I have to run a couple more tests and make sure that your brother is ready to go home. I’ll give you all a moment to say your goodbyes.”
A collective groan was let out from all other parties, but soon enough all of their siblings began telling him bye and leaving the room.
Characteristically, Fylass was the last to leave and had a sort of sad look in their ultramarine eyes that hurt them far more than jumping through a window ever could.
However before the chimera could go, the knight stopped them.
“Hey Fy, before you go I just wanna say that if I said anything weird or got super emotional, I didn’t mean it.” He chuckled to themself hoping to play it off like it was a joke, “I have no clue what my feverish brain could talk about and I’m really sorry if I said anything dumb.”
Fylass paused for a moment, that teary eyed version of their brother, the one who was more open about his past, the one that talked about their emotions.
Was that real?
Or was that all just the product of high emotions and a fever?
No matter what it was, Fylass didn’t care.
As fast as they could, the chimera rushed over to the knight and wrapped him in the biggest hug they could give.
“Twi, I’m so sorry for everything that happened to you.” They muttered into Twilight Knight’s navy blue fur.
The room went silent, but after a second the astral hugged back.
“Thank you, Fy.” He said, tears forming in their eyes, “I love you so much.”

glass
Genesis is alone.
This is a fact of life.
They hadn’t always been alone, they think. They’d lived out there, once. With their friends. In Wonderland; where everything was upside down and the right way up at the same time.
Then they made a mistake.
It wasn’t big, it wasn’t life-threatening. The Queen of Hearts said that they had to sign a contract to repent, and they hadn’t read it.
That was their biggest mistake.
They were trapped. In the underbelly of the circus they had once visited, where they had laughed at the acts, eaten cotton candy and sweets until they were almost hyper. In a maze of glass.
In order to leave, they had to imprison people in the mirrors. And they were so close.
Genesis felt a wave of frustration ripple through them as they watched Fylass and Dolly duck through the door, skidding to a stop as the exit became a painting. They clutched the handle of one of their glass daggers, cursing themselves for dropping it, for leaving the note out in the open for Dolly to find.
They sighed, turning away with a frown as the painting vanished, hidden by rows of glass. Genesis grabbed a sheaf of paper from their bag and an old pencil they had found that was dangling from their ear. Both items had fallen through one of the reflectionless mirrors.
They slammed the paper down onto the ground, and began to write, pouring out their feelings onto the paper.
There was no room for emotions in the contract.
I let them escape. I was so close to freedom, to finally being free.
But they were crying.
Genesis paused, thinking of Fylass’s yells, of Dolly’s warnings, as they ran, as they chased them through the maze.
I was weak. I let the Club escape. Something in me made my hand loosen just enough to let the dagger drop. The note was a coincidence, though.
The Queen of Hearts won’t be happy.
She stuck me here, though. I don’t care about what she thinks.
They looked up in the general direction Fylass and Dolly had left.
Run, Club. Save Wonderland. And set me free.

Fylass Through the Looking Glass - Chapter Fifteen - Dragon’s Elegy
The clouds of Wonderland were darkening, as a newfound sense of discomfort shrouded the group that was going back to the Looking Glass to get to Underland, as if a cold shadow was tagging along - the chills across the land were clearly signaling a bad omen, and maybe it was true, as those same clouds took the shame of bizarre, amorphous creatures, thing that shouldn’t be a problem in and of itself, but there was something about those figures that felt oddly artificial, as if someone was doodling without much care in a piece of paper - it felt foreboding, as everything else; a watching eye that was just so excited to see what was about to happen in the stage, a creature that was old, even older that Wonderland itself, a threat that was looming, always looming, but never got the chance to show up personally… For now at least.
On all the way through to get to the Looking Glass, everyone was eerily quiet, wanting to at least say something to ease the tension, but no words came from anyone’s mouth, even though they just got exposed to a mouthful of information, which it would be good at first glance, but thanks to that, now they have to deal with the fact that there’s a threat much bigger than the Jabberwocky, and even if it sounds redundant, it was the truth.
Nonetheless, they had to take care of both of them sooner or later, and deep down, they knew that this trip back to Underland would be one they would never forget - the last time the ferocious dragon got to Underland, or specifically, the White Kingdom, grief and despair reigned for a long while, bittering the hearts of everyone, and from there, many forgot the friendship both realms once had, and many forgot that the other realm existed, and even though Cosmounse was surely a threat far more dangerous than it, it didn’t take of the fact that they needed to get rid of that dragon in one way or another - sure, its cycle would surely never cease, but at the very least, peace could be found for a while, or well, they hoped so.
A row of voices echoed through the path that bestowed upon the group, putting everyone on edge - it surely wasn’t something to be worried about, and yet, they didn’t want to take any risks whatsoever, so everyone drew their weapons, just in case; it didn’t take much to see that the ones walking next to them on the gloomy pathway were ones that they knew about before, being none others than the residents of the Tarot Town, along with their mayor, and a suspiciously familiar gray jay leading the way.
"Oh dear, I am glad I found-... You." The Mayor, Aeon spoke up, but quickly stopped herself from keeping up with the conversation when she noticed people that she never saw before, as far as her mind could go, but also the Spade and Club Suits were there too, and both Fylass and her seem to be intrigued and interested in each other’s presence, both for completely different reasons, it seemed, for as Aeon seemed to have saw them somewhere in her dreams, Fylass had an expression which indicated that they knew her in a personal level; no one that Fylass knows and holds dear deeply, actually know about who she was in the real world, but nonetheless, that didn’t really matter at the moment.
Fylass tried to pretend they didn’t know about her when they realized the expression they were giving off, and didn’t say a thing, until someone else in the group did.
"...Oh, miss? …What are you doing here with your people? The weather doesn’t seem to be the appropriate one to wander around, especially if the villagers are going with you." Dero said, half lying.
"Regarding that, I actually wanted to request something from the Queen." Aeon said, with the gray jay besides her flying around, seemingly distressed by something.
"...? What would that be?"
"...It would request shelter at the Card Castle for me and my people. I got another one of those visions early in the day, and while I don’t have much recollection on what I saw, I know the message it was trying to send, and I fear for the safety of the Wonderlanders, so I thought that the Card Castle would be a more well secured place for protection."
Dero felt a shiver of unease when he heard that - it felt too similar to the one day he woke up in Wonderland for the first time, with all those people refuging at the Castle’s doors as the looming threat that started his oath kept on going. He pondered about that request for a bit though, and eventually came to the conclusion that he was not going to commit the same mistakes that led him to lose the one he loved.
"...I accept your request, and I am sure that the Queen will do so as well." He remarked and pointes his swords towards the starting point where the group had started walking. "Follow that path, and you’ll be there in no time, yet I recommend you to hurry, as like you said, your safety could be in danger - When you get there, I’d advise you to stay away from the windows and things along those lines, since it does seem like a huge storm… or something worse could happen."
With those statements out of the line, Aeon silently nodded and thanked the Jailer as she and the other villagers of the town went to the Castle as fast as it could to still be considered walking, although, the bird that accompanied them seemed keen on actually following the suits and their gang, for reasons that seemed unknown, but it’s not like it could be important that a mere bird were following them, right?
When the rest of the villagers were out of view, the group kept on going towards their destination before it could be too late, time is running out, time is running out, and yet, some had their head lost in their thoughts.
"...I… I feel like I saw her once before… Is she… No, it can’t be." Maforanti thought - apparently, he still had difficulties in remembering some other things that should’ve been in his head when he received that epiphany, but he had to keep his mind busy regarding another event that was sure to follow.
The path leading to the Looking Glass was becoming more narrow, as if someone was contracting the mere fabric of reality, with the skies enclosing, and the trees stretching to make the path feel more claustrophobic, and the path of dirt lengthening to make each step feel more difficult to do; everyone walking along felt a sense of unrest, but the silence was still present, and it couldn’t be more palpable.
Nonetheless, they got to the place where the Looking Glass is supposed to be, but the shack it was in felt contorted, and even more out of place than the rest of the world, and its inside didn’t help to ease that feeling as Fylass turned the knob to open it; the gray wooden planks of the floor and walls were peeling its layers like tapestry, as its remains were still on the air, never able to touch the floor, the table where that mismatch of a board was below now had a shape that was so far from what it could’ve been once, shape that couldn’t be described, while still having that board on top, and the faint smell of wet clay and vinegar floated across the decaying walls.
The Looking Glass on the other hand, looked just the same as always, but its normalcy compared to the rest of the room was what made it so off putting to even look at.
"...I got a bad feeling about whatever is going to happen on the other side, but at this point, it’s this, or having to bear the possible danger of not doing anything." Fylass said as they got closer to the Looking Glass, confirming that it was still able to be passed through, and such, they handed their hand towards the group that weren’t Suits or Pieces, so they were able to go through as well.
Step by step, everyone left Wonderland to finish off a threat that started ever since the gates of Underland were opened, and they were greeted by the same decrepit shack that greeted them in the other world, but now, the sheer, freezing cold winds welcomed them to the stagnant, possibly dying world, Underland. Buddy and Celeernyx didn’t even take a look at the surroundings outside the shack and they could already tell that something was extremely off, as if someone was taking off the air that the group breathed all of a sudden.
It wasn’t until Fylass opened the door that they realized the situation they were in - everything was far too cold for Underland, and the faint sound of a clock ticking echoed throughout the whole land, but what was the most eerie of everything was the silence that drowned Underland; yet another bad omen. It either meant the Jabberwocky wasn’t here yet, or it already caused everyone’s voices to get muffled by its jaws, like how it happened so long ago.
"I can already feel that this is going to be a great hassle… Let’s bring our weapons now, before we regret that we didn't do it earlier." Unicorn said, and so, the group took their weapons out due to perfectly knowing that this adventure will take a drastic move sooner or later, and were about to leave the shack to finally settle this for good, ot at least they hoped so - They knew the Jabberwocky would just rise again after a while, for its curse would just latch onto someone else, and the cycle would just repeat again, but at the very least, contain it for some time would be enough for the people, and it would be even more than enough that that creature doesn’t cause a disaster in Underland, yet again.
It wasn’t until Fylass stepped out of the door that they heard something that apparently had come with them through the Looking Glass, being that same gray jay the Mayor of Tarot Town was holding with her, one that was odd to look at, since it seemed to have some intelligence that a bird wouldn’t be able to possess, which is ironic, since in Wonderland, not much things make sense.
"...Huh… How did this bird follow us?" Banshee asked rhetorically, wanting to ask how didn’t anyone see that the gray jay was tagging along.
"...It shouldn’t matter, we need to get going before it’s too late to act…" Celeernyx spoke up right after.
The gray jay on the other hand, flew across the room and landed on one of Fylass’ antlers as the Wolpertinger they were now. The club wanted to take them off there, but after a couple of seconds of trying, they figured out it wouldn’t budge, so they left it be, besides, this world is running on a countdown, a house of cards if you will, and there will be no failsafe if they break it by not hurrying up.
With this new "companion" tagging along with them, everyone got out of the dying walls of the room, hurrying to get to the White Kingdom to see if everything was doing ok with Neptune taking care of the Castle and the people around it from the Jabberwocky’s jaws, or if that creature already did its rampage. Dero and Giselle seemed to know the path to get there, including the King, Queen, and the Bishop, as if even after all those years, they still got to remember Underland before the incident, and years before such, Giselle’s own death…
Nonetheless, the silence was still in the air, but gladly enough, when they got to the town close to the White Castle, none of the architecture seemed damaged in any significant way, proving that the Jabberwocky - somehow - haven’t gotten here yet, but that raised the question of where were the people, since at the very least, a modicum of noise should come from them; it was so quiet that the group could hear their own heartbeats, but oddly enough, not the sound of the ticking pocket watch in Fylass’ bag…
"...Wait a minute…" Fylass grabbed their bag, and look at its contents - that book, the pocket watch and… The Club Key, which guards their part of the Card Castle, and from there, their diary…
Fylass took out the pocket watch, and indeed, its hands were not moving, which wouldn’t be a problem in and of itself, but what was the most eerie of all was that it didn’t seem to be an external problem, and rather it seemed more as if time itself had stopped - it would be exaggerated to think about such possibility, but by closer inspection on the houses’ windows, none of the clocks that were visible through them seem to work either, which would explain the deafening silence, or at least, part of it.
"...This is getting worse by the day, huh…?" Ades said, trying to process the situation at the moment. Either way, seeing how nothing else was happening at the Town, whether that be literally or figuratively, the rest of the group decided to get to the White Castle to confirm if everything was okay.
Step by step, it was as if the climate was getting colder to the touch, to the point that it became almost unbearable, and the distance was harder and harder to see due to an odd fog that started surrounding the place entirely, like that fog that covered Time’s Clock Tower - things get inexplicable in the span of a few seconds in this world, to the point that it seemed that someone was tampering with the fabric of reality once again, and if that were true, they knew exactly who it was, but they were too busy and dreaded of such assumption that no one would prefer to utter his name.
Nonetheless, even with the world conspiring against them, they got to the doors of the White Castle, and from there, it was much clearer where did the people go - they were taking shelter in the gray, marble walls of the castle, apparently knowing the danger they were under, as well, with many being too silent out of the fear that if the Jabberwocky got here, they would all be doomed for sure. Neptune was close to the King and Queen’s thrones, doing his job as well as he was capable of without the Royal Pieces’ orders.
After a little though, he got to see the group amongst the people that were taking shelter.
"My King! My Queen!" He said as he walked towards them, being careful of not tripping someone out of the blue, and when he got to them, he bowed to them in a respectful manner. "I did as you were told and kept your Kingdom safe."
"...I am grateful for such, however… I must ask, why are all these people here?" Buddy said - in any other context, this would lead to any sort of interrogation or even scorn, but knowing the situation they were in, it was a relieved thank you, disguised as a question.
"My King, the people witnessed the Jabberwocky in the far away distance, and wanted a place to be safe at, so I thought it’d be for the best if I let the townsfolk stay until the situation got better, but knowing the danger that creature means to all of us, I am not so sure…"
That sank dread on everyone’s minds - The Jabberwocky really got here, but it was by a miracle that it hasn’t spotted this place yet, but it wouldn’t take long until it did… Lucid came down with an idea to keep the people safe, though.
"...What if we send your people to Wonderland? The Jabberwocky isn’t there, and if it goes back, we can send your people here again, as we take care of that menace." Deep down, Lucid wanted anything but to see their friends and loved ones hurt, or even dead, but there wasn’t any more choice on what they could do, yet dragging people like Fylass or Chaos to this didn’t sit well with the Porcelain man.
Speaking of Chaos, though, since he realized what he really is, he couldn’t look at Neptune the same way, knowing that at the very least, they could’ve been friends, or even more before he lost his memory, and his silence was nothing like how he would have acted in any other way; The Mad Hatter didn’t seem mad anymore, just… bleak, but probably thoughtful. Neptune on the other hand, looked at him with a sense of faint memories and nostalgia, whether it was before Chaos could have time with him, or after, who’s to tell? Anyways, Neptune still had a job to do, and he thought that what Lucid had said could be a good enough idea to keep everyone safe and sound.
"...The Bishop seems to have a decent plan… Do we go with it, my King?"
Buddy pondered on that - he had been so rude and disrespectful to not only the Wonderlanders but also the same people which he should appreciate since they are part of the same hierarchy he’s part of, and even then, they’re still willing to help out, it maybe wasn’t for him, or maybe it was, but what mattered was that even after all of that trouble, the people that he wronged in this adventure still wanted to help out. It reminded him of simpler times where everything was okay and he didn’t have much to worry about… Those times are gone by the same creature that is terrorizing Underland right now, and the Wonderlanders surely were at fault, but… at this point, did it even matter?
"...Yes, yes. It sounds good enough, please go through with it - One of the Suits should accompany you people for you to go through the Looking Glass, though…" He said.
"I will do so." A voice spoke up, being Giselle’s, with Dero right beside her - with what happened on the Card Castle when both were on their own, he wasn’t that keen on going with her, knowing that she didn’t want to be at his side, at least for now - he knew something was troubling her, but he also knew that he wasn’t in any position to do something about it, or at least, he believed he wasn’t.
"...Okay. I’d recommend you to hurry, before that thing notices you and things go sour. There’s little to no time left for us to wander around doing nothing." Buddy remarked, as Neptune and Giselle left the scene to try and get the people to get out and take shelter in Wonderland, being one of the few actual options they had to avoid annihilation. Some were immediately on board, some others refused as the offer was on the table, but anyway, all of them ended up complying in one way or another, and as silently as they could, the Castle was quickly emptied, with only the group standing on the now lone walls.
Fylass, although being mostly quiet as things enveloped, seemed extremely troubled - not only because of the Jabberwocky, not only because of Cosmounse, but also for something else, that no one could put a finger on what it was - The gray jay above them seemed also distressed, as whenever the kid took a step that placed them closer to any window or door leading to the outside, the bird would try to make them go back, may be by chirping right next to them or even trying to use its faint strength to make them back away, not that the kid wanted to get out just now, knowing what kind of threat was outside the Castle’s walls.
"You seem quite anxious, dontcha?" A voice spoke to them on the side, being Rooky’s voice which just so happened to get out of the crown willingly, with Buddy taking notice of that, being fitting now, considering that she was extremely quiet due to staying in that crown, and only some people could hear her, for some reason, Fylass included.
Fylass was taken aback for a second, but quickly gained composure.
"Well… Yeah, I am, but it’s for what’s happening right now, and such…"
"...Are you sure? I ain’t gonna get mad if you’re lying!" She snickered.
"..."
"It’d proooooobably recommend you to spill the tea before it’s too late for you to do so, I am part of a crown, but even I know that bottling up feelings just so no one can see them is dumb. You’d bet how Buddy would be acting sometimes after a certain incident."
"...You know that?"
"Maybe! Maybe not! I am just waiting for them to notice."
"Why haven’t you told them anything?"
"Because it’d be funnier that way! Besides, do ya reeeeeeally think that they’d trust a word that I say? Being a crown apparently takes away points of credibility!" She spoke up. "But I digress, what I am saying is that at one point they’ll probably discover whatever you’re hiding, but making sure you reveal that to them, or that they figure that on their own depends on ya!"
"..." Fylass stood silent, thinking on what she just said - they wouldn’t want them to know that they could maybe not even exist, being just a figment on someone’s imagination, and yet, that feeling is eating Fylass from the inside, not being able to share this with someone just caused them more pain, but they didn’t want to cause more pain to others.
"...But-" Fylass was about to say something until they noticed something in the distance, or well, someone else noticed that something in the distance; The Clock Tower was seemingly acting strange, with its hands moving back and forth erratically, to the point that its hands spelled out impossible hours, which was odd, since time had stopped. The fog made it hard to see, but it was clear that something was very, very wrong.
"...Er… Apparently, the Jabberwocky isn’t the only thing we have to deal with now." Unicorn said, also noticing the anomalies that were going on in the Tower.
"Could Majaway be there? That’s the only explanation I could figure out on this…" Celeernyx remarked.
Eventually, it came down to a consensus that they needed to get there, to not deal with two problems at the same time, and might as well try to fix one of them before they went through with the next one. The Gray Jay on Fylass’ head insisted the kid not to keep going, but it had to be done, and as the Wolpertinger left, it had no choice than to begrudgingly tag along to a possible danger that had to be dealt with.
The area was even harder to get to than the White Castle, being something unremarkable for sure… It was freezing cold, with the cold winds so familiar of the area making it hard for one to focus due to the foreboding sound they made, and the fog getting increasingly thicker and harder to look through, until eventually, it all stopped.
The cold of the land disappeared.
The winds stood still in the air.
The fog stopped being a thing.
Now, the Clock Tower was on the view, and an impending sense of doom made itself present amongst the dread and discomfort. It looked… off, ignoring how its hands moved erratically as the sound of gears turning could make someone deaf if they got closer, there was something about it that felt dangerous to even touch, and even Time himself didn’t feel okay by stepping on it, being just as quiet and usual, to the point that not many didn’t even notice he was there.
Tumblr media
"...I fear whatever’s going to happen next." Ades said again, as Fylass got closer to get to the entrance door, being opened by something or someone, long before they got there. It was all too quiet, until all of a sudden…
A growl was heard in the sky.
It was enough to shake the ground and the hearts of the victims that heard it, and by taking a look at the now dark skies, they saw it, the Jabberwocky, and sadly, it saw them too.
"...Oh no."
The fog, cold and the winds appeared again in the span of a second, and the creature flying across the skies quickly flew across the group, placing everyone into a panic.
"RUN!" The first of the voices yelled across the chaotic grasslands, making it clear for everyone that they needed to flee if they wanted a chance to live - taking advantage of the muffling sound of the winds and the thickness of the fog, everyone ran to a random direction with the hopes that the Jabberwocky wouldn’t be able to see them.
A creature so mighty would place everyone in a panic quickly, but in the case of these people, many only have heard of it, but never got to see this creature fighting in its full glory, and that was terrifying, as for the ones of the White Kingdom, this only brought them the worst memories of loss they could ever think about, and if they didn’t hurry, they’ll be part of those stories as well.
The sound of the grass being flown around thanks to the strong winds was just for the setting, to see a tragedy play out in a random theater, and sadly, there were both spectators and actors in the same play -  a twisted scenario serving for entertainment of a few.
Fylass (with the gray jay still in head) quickly stumbled with Lucid and Buddy in the fog, being relieved that at least they found someone across the chaos, but it quickly shifted into panic as they heard the creature possibly getting closer, and it was time to get the others and run - poor them that didn’t plan this all the way through.
It would’ve probably ended well if the fog hadn’t disappeared out of the blue - like a cruel joke, it wouldn’t have ended well for any one, huh? Repeating a tragedy that both Wonderlanders and Underlanders would have to go through - it was only fair, right? Now they were exposed to the creature hunting them down, and it was pretty convenient that it saw the Wolpertinger and their companions first.
As the Jabberwocky flew towards them, Fylass pondered on what they could do in that short span of seconds… This creature going after them was created by them, after all, for they knew that this place wasn’t what it seemed, they knew the truth, but the others didn’t…
"..." Fylass remembered what Rooky had told to them, and at this point, whether it was for them to know the truth, or for them to finally understand them, and what they go through, Fylass got the cleaver from their bag and threw it towards the King and Bishop with the Club Key still inside, and sprinted towards the creature that would kill them with the hopes that maybe, they could have a bit more time to escape if the fog came back to save them in time.
With a swift move, they seemed to have managed to make at least the faint bits of damage to the Jabberwocky’s face, as they were lifted towards the skies for the final act, with the gray jay doing its best to avoid the same attack and fate.
Lucid yelled for their name as it all went through, not wanting to see another one of his loved ones die by the same methods, but it was all too late. Fylass knew they could come back as long as they fell asleep like some mere dream, but no one else knew, so in their eyes, they could only see how that dragon opened its jaws and all of a sudden, the kid was, sadly, no more, as their body shatters inside the creature.
The deafening silence came to be again, as if everything had stopped in time, with Lucid, Buddy and the others seeing how the kid died in front of their eyes, unable to save them in time, and they could only stay on their knees in hopelessness and shock, as the fog didn’t seem to go back, and the Jabberwocky was going to go after the King and Bishop.
Or well, was.
Dero, not being able to afford being in disbelief in a situation like this, intercepted between the future attack and took his sword out, trying to attack it once more with the hope that his attacks would be enough to scare it away, but surprisingly enough, no attack came.
Everyone had closed their eyes to not see the rampage, but no rampage came - everything went quiet, so so quiet, and when they opened their eyes, yes, the Jabberwocky WAS there, but it wasn’t moving - in fact, it was still and stiff on the air, stuck in time, still with that expression that a wild animal would make before eating its prey.
"..." Dero was only filled with questions and sadness, not only for this, but also because he had, yet again, lost someone that he could’ve maybe protected, and in ire, he started swinging his sword around, hoping that that would be enough to kill it, but no damage he could make seemed to even leave a dent on it, apparently because of the position it was in, not being able to give or receive damage, resembling a taxidermied animal, but those eyes were still full of life…
Lucid cried out for Fylass’ name, knowing that he was gone, and wouldn’t come back, or at least for now.
"WHY?! WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING!?" He yelled, doing his best not to choke on his words. "AS SOON AS I SEE A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR MYSELF AND THE PEOPLE I LOVE, THIS HAPPENS! WHY?! FIRST MY BUDDY, NOW THE KID?! WHY AM I SUCH A FAILURE?!"
Buddy was silent at this point, not being able to process what just occurred, but that last statement made him click something on his head.
"...Y-Your Buddy? …Wait… What do you mean by that…? You weren’t there on that… day…"
"...!"
"...S-Shard?" He spoke up. Shard, that name Lucid had before losing his old buddy and body in Wonderland, that name that no one should be able to remember at this point, besides someone that would be close to him on those days… Was he…"
"...That’s… T-That’s my name…" Lucid said, trying not to drown himself in his sorrows. "...How do you…"
It was clear who they were talking to.
Apparently, they weren’t gone, they never were.
"...Mags…?" He got closer, and all of a sudden, it was clear who he was with the whole time, and without words, the two got themselves in a massive embrace, crying over a loss, and crying over seeing another loss being healed.
The others would try to follow, not knowing what was exactly happening, but it was all too confusing to focus on more than one thing.
Lucid, as he realized the truth of the current situation, grabbed the bag Fylass had thrown to him, as one of his sorrows was eased, another one followed… Although…
This isn’t the end, now is it?

Fylass Through the Looking Glass - Chapter One EX - The Witch Hunt
The moon was rising, and the sun was setting.
Dero and Ades were walking down the silent paths of Wonderland, with the sounds of crows, owls and the wind being the only sounds around. Ades was wondering why Dero needed their help; they were friends for a long time, but after some misunderstandings, their reunions were cut short.
The Wise Warrior decided to speak up to Dero, not because of their new reunion, but for other things that made him curious.
"...So, what were you doing at the Memory Lane Cinema?"
"..." Dero didn’t answer back, but it was noticeable that his face became one of pure melancholy. Ades seemingly knew exactly what Dero was going through, or at least, he had an idea, but that same thought filled him with sorrow.
"...I am sorry."
"Thou-... You are forgiven."
All of them walked around the circus when the time came; it was still there, hopefully, with the Cheshire Cats sleeping atop of each other after causing chaos, and the attractions still going strong, with less people around, yes, but it was nice to see the circus around, again. Both would’ve loved to be there, but the air of awkwardness and purpose around there made them unable to do so.
Winds of regret, and hopelessness were around, but they were soon replaced by a warm feeling of comfort being led by the comforting light of the Card Castle’s outskirts, as if that stinge of humanity led both to the entrance.
"Oh, hello again, Jailer Dero, and… Diamond." Ava was the one at the entrance, along with Verin, who was waving awkwardly at both.
"Greetings, General Ava." Ades said.
With these salutations, both Ades and Dero entered, leaving the cold winds behind, embracing the comforting warmth of Dolly’s castle, which was waiting right at her royal chair in the dining room.
"Oh! Hi there, again, Dero, and Ades! Dolly is happy to see you again!"
"Hello again, My Queen, hope you had a lovely day."
"Dolly did! Thank you! Where are Fylass and the rest, though?"
"I am pretty sure that they are at Underland at the moment, you don’t need to worry!" Ades spoke up.
"Oh! Dolly is glad that they achieved that goal! She wants to see them soon, so she has hope that they will come back as soon as possible!"
Dero and Ades were happy to see her happy, especially Dero.
"Oh! Also, dinner is ready! Please, sit down and eat with Dolly and the rest of the knights!" Dero seemed hesitant with the idea, since he was here to talk to Aes about… certain topics, but he couldn’t refuse Dolly with that idea, maybe because she was the Queen, or maybe it was for something else. He looked at Ades, which seemed pretty convinced with the idea.
"Yes, My Queen. We can do that." He spoke with such kindness that Ades seemingly did not believed, but chuckled afterwards.
"Great! Please, sit down right there, and everything will be ready for you!" Dolly really was trying to be the best Queen around, and Dero knew; he wasn’t this happy for a Queen on the rise for… a while.
Dero and Ades sat down on their respective tables, as the rest of the knights, and people at the Castle sat down to eat with the Queen, which seemed ecstatic for this. Dero on the other hand, seemed melancholic, and Ades knew why…
The dinner was big, with pasta as the main course, and sweets as the dessert; it was clear that Dolly was the one that ordered this, such innocence may seem pure, but who would know when the time comes for someone willing to take advantage of her.
Ades and Dero were looking at each other, the former seemingly hiding Blossom on  his coat, giving her most of the food to eat; ever since she shattered and formed back again, he swore to himself that he wouldn’t let her go, just like that. The latter though, was doing his best to not make a mess of himself; not having hands surely was a problem, but at least, he tried to be as "classy" as possible.
The rest of the knights were all bickering in a friendly way; talking about how their patrols were, or talking about how the place seemed more merry ever since the Club appeared to control the situation.
Soon enough, everyone was done eating, and that feeling of a home was oozing out of the castle. Twilight Knight and Verin were drawing at the table, like kids; Dero knew that those two were wanting to do that for a while anyways, so, he wasn’t surprised to say the least.
Everyone left the table, at last, and Dolly was about to leave, but was quickly stopped by Dero. "My Queen, sorry for bothering you at this time, but we need to talk about something you might have interest in."
"Oh, sure! What is it?"
"Ades, could you open the door of your respective story? There’s something I need to show you." Dero said.
Pleiades nodded in confusion; was that the reason why Dero needed his help? Was there something bigger to this? What was he not telling? Either way, he complied, and the three left towards the second story to open the Diamond Door.
As the three went upstairs, they saw the guards that were about to sleep, in much more comfortable rooms than the ones they had the displeasure to sleep in before, but that displeasure became confort, hopefully. Dolly wished them good night, as she saw TK, Verin, Ava and some other knights go into their designated rooms to catch some well deserved sleep; even when the new Queen was around, there still was a job to do. Doors closed, and one target to go.
Blossom picked up the key from within Pleiades’ coat, and placed it on one of his paws, and after one sincere smile from him towards her, used the key to open the door. A door to a room that Dolly hasn’t seen.
The room had purple as its primary color, with a green carpet; paintings resembling Cherry Blossoms were on the wall, among the many bookshelves that were filled, a piano was right next to one of them and at the end of the hallway, there was a green throne, with a diamond suit painting right above it.
"Wow! This place is so pretty!" Dolly spoke up with glee.
"It has been a while ever since I explored this room. I hope that what you’re looking for is worth it, Dero."
Dero nodded, and quickly went towards one specific bookshelf, and used one of his swords to point at one book. "Could you pick this book up, please?" He said, pointing to Ades. "I would do that myself, but I am sure you know why I can’t."
The caterpillar couldn’t help but laugh at that fact, and between chuckles, he picked up the book. It was titled "Bestiary". The book was red, and golden framed, with a moon symbol at the cover.
Tumblr media
"...Why this book?"
"Look at page 163. My Queen, you should look at this too." Dero spoke up towards Dolly, who took a peek at it as well.
"GRIMMASTER CURSE - JABBERWOCKY" That was the title of the page.
"This being is under the influence of a curse that has been around since the very beginning of Wonderland’s Foundation. It is currently unknown what is the source of it, but it has been passed across generations by different draconic creatures for millenia. The ones under the influence experience severe hysteria and aggressive tendencies, which peak up to the point of harming, and killing others. The most recent Jabberwocky, is an individual known as Grimmaster Celesta, who has been missing ever since the death of four knights at the Infinitea Curse Incident, one of them being a domesticated Jabberwocky."
"It is imperative that this creature must be contained, or terminated."
Dolly’s face of confusion and curiosity becme one of dread; how was it possible that she, being the Queen, didn’t know about this threat looming over her kingdom?
"This creature is on the loose, and I fear it has become much more aggressive. Our mission is to search for it, and to terminate it, maybe not once and for all, but for enough time to find a way to get rid of it permanently."
"W-WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL DOLLY ABOUT THIS?! YOU MUST’VE TOLD HER!" Dolly screamed with fear; the news didn’t make her happy.
"I apologize, My Queen, but I didn’t want to alert you about it that early. We are going to look out for her tomorrow, for your safety. Your safety is in my hands, and I won’t fail you."
"P-Please! Don’t go, Dolly doesn’t want you to get hurt!"
"I’ve been living for more than 9,000 years at this point, so I know what to do; this isn’t the first time I’ve defeated an iteration of the Jabberwocky, so I promise that I won’t get hurt and I won’t leave you alone."
"...Okay…"
"Now please, go to sleep. If you have problems doing so, use the music box I bought you that one time, okay?"
"...Alright, goodnight, Dero… Dolly will see you tomorrow morning…" Dolly said as she left the room with concern.
"Goodnight, My Queen."
The room was silent for a while, but Ades was prone to speak afterwards.
"...So, that’s it? Just wondering…"
"Actually, I wanted to talk with you about something else…" Dero pointed towards a specific point of the hallway; there was a table, with two chairs, and a chessboard along with its pieces right above it. "We can play some chess in the meantime if you like it."
"Alright?"
Both sat down, and quickly pondered over their thoughts at the chessboard. It was prone for Dero and Ades to do their first moves, and they quickly moved their pawns.
"So, what is it?"
"...You see, I need to talk to you about… something more important." Dero said as he used his sword to move another pawn.
"Can you stop with the mystery, please?" Ades remarked, moving another pawn, in a more erratic strategy.
"Do you remember the Moon of Despair?" Dero moved another piece.
"...The Devil, are you saying? Of course I remember. That bastard Suit." Ades moved yet another piece.
"It’s back, and I am sure. We all thought you and the other suits were able to banish him completely to the Void of Agony, but it’s back…"
"Eh? How could that be?"
"You see… When the incident happened, we all shattered, and reformed back. I am sure you remember that perfectly. You see, the hole that was close to your domains was the main entrance to that Void, and even if you thought that it was finally sealed, it only spread towards Wonderland again, but balance was found again, or atleast, you thought so."
"E-Excuse me? How could that be? Vibrato, Giselle, Tenebra and I were able to seal it completely! What nonsense are you saying?"
"...It’s in Underland. Wonderland is safe, but won’t be for long. The Jabberwocky being back only means that the Moon of Despair is also here as well… I have the suspicion that the Club is involved."
"...Are you saying that Fylass is a traitor?"
"No. I am just saying that the Club is connected to it. In fact, I think they are the Wonderlander Deity."
"Okay, that’s enough. You’re just spilling nonsense."
"...You know me, Ades. I have enough proof to say that they are our God, but it’s getting too late to discuss it now. I can see that Blossom is asleep." Ades was surprised by that statement; he didn’t know that Dero had noticed Blossom, and indeed, she was asleep."
"...We must talk about this tomorrow."
"It seems that our king is back."
"...My rule has long since ended, but it seems that I need to guide Dolly and the rest to be protected against this enemy, if what you’re saying is true. Dolly needs to receive guidance from a former King, after all. I shall take my leave now, but tomorrow morning, we will meet again."
"Understood, King Ades."
"Don’t call me that."
"Okay. I wish you good sleep, Ades."
"...Goodnight."
Ades left the room, and Dero looked back to the chessboard; Ades’ pieces were scattered over the whole board, and Dero’s pieces were all protecting the Queen.
"...Sigh."
Dero left, and was about to sleep, going towards the dorms of the Queen to check on Dolly, until he noticed something.
At one of the tables, there was an open letter. Dolly must’ve left it there to check on it tomorrow, but Dero was curious about it, since something familiar was oozing out of it.
"We must meet again. Meet me at the place where I used to live before becoming Queen; the eternal night will rise again if we don’t act now, so please, our reunion must be made soon."
Tumblr media
"...Giselle?" She was someone Dero loved a lot, but thanks to the Moon of Despair, and his influence, she met a horrible demise. Why was this note here though? The way of writing felt exactly how she would write, and Dero knew it exactly.
"...If this is a joke, I will kill the person who did it, but if it isn’t… I must see her again… This is stupid, but I need to check in this information." Dero went towards the first story, and used the backdoor to go to the outskirts, leading to the Tarot Village. If what the letter said was true, his destination was close to there.
Steps were taken, and soon enough, the Castle became more and more distant, and the Jailer was able to see a heart shaped clock, and it revealed that it was 11:59.
Tumblr media
"It’s a minute before another day; it will soon be the day when I left you behind…"

Fylass Through the Looking Glass - Chapter Six - Hands of Time
Fylass looked behind, and indeed, he saw Neptune. He had white, gray and black colors all around him and his clothes, with a cape resembling a chessboard, orange eyes, and a sword with a handle of a rose; he looked somewhat watery, but that’s not uncommon for him, as long as Fylass knew. They were quite surprised to see him out of all people - the last time they were able to see them in the real world was when he gave them a shiny pearl, after they offered him a crate full of fish, so they were on good terms with each other, seemingly. Although, that wasn’t the important thing here, was it?
"...You came back…?" Neptune said to Chaos.
"...I guess? I can barely remember you, though… I didn’t even remember you were here."
"Huh? That’s bizarre… Anyways, I saw that you guys were taken out of the castle quite badly, so now I ask, what did you do-" Neptune stopped talking when he realized who were the rest of the people accompanying him. "...Wonderlanders?! Well, that just makes things much easier to understand. How did you even get here, though?! I thought the King had sealed the exit; hell, if he could, he would’ve already destroyed it."
"...I don’t know how, but I was able to get to the Looking Glass thanks to this clock… I don’t even know where I got it." Fylass took out the pocket watch.
"...Odd. Either way, what are you doing here? I would try to get rid of you, but now I am interested in your motivations."
"Man, we just tried to get our friend back home, but that bitter king of yours couldn’t even dare to see him."
"That’s normal about him, we are glad that we have Celeernyx as Queen, to be completely honest. Just give him a moment, he’ll be fine… maybe." He approached Fylass. "So… I assume you are the… what was its name again? Clover?"
"...Club."
"Yes, that, the Club. You are quiiiite young though, and those horns, wings, and clothing, you are one weird little guy, let me tell you that…"
"...Thank you?"
"No problem. Now, if you excuse me, I must leave, for I need to get that Chronosphere, for… some reason."
"Chronosphere? What's that?"
"Oh, you know; that weird looking, spherical, glowing artifact capable of going back, forward, and controlling time? That thing. Our King has been wanting to get it for a while, and he’s growing pretty impatient for it. I wouldn’t want to mess with Time, but at this point, it’s that, or getting probably exiled by the King to who knows where."
Fylass was stunned by what he just said; how would there be an artifact as powerful as that? Why didn’t they know? It all just feels like a world where everyone knows what happens, but you, and that’s oddly scary. Then, they remembered Lucid’s words.
"...If only I could go back, and prevent the Jabberwocky from ending his life…"
They knew what to do.
"...What if I went for it for you? You don’t need to do anything!" Lucid was clearly interested in that too, but after hearing Fylass’ request, he was quickly in denial about it.
"Excuse me?! No! I can’t let you do that! Time is a very cruel being, and will probably kill you if you try to get that thing! I’ve never tried to get it back then, but I know that you probably won’t have it well if you go!"
"Hey, it’s alright! You know me, I managed to not only save all of you, but also defeat the Queen, and come back to life! If things go bad, I have you at my side, and I know what you’re capable of. My mission is to make you happy, along with all of you, and I will get your King back…" Fylass knew that the King he saw was Buddy, but no one was going to believe that, however, if the kid was able to avoid that incident to happen, no one would need to believe them, for everything would be okay.
"...I have the feeling that I won’t be able to stop you… Please, just know what you’re doing."
"Don’t worry. I’ve faced worse… sadly."
"...Want to talk about it?"
"...No." Lucid was worried about Fylass’ statements, but he knew that the kid wouldn’t budge on saying anything else, so he left it like that.
"...Alright, but please, feel free to tell me anything that’s on your mind."
Neptune spoke up after this little exchange, not really knowing what to say, but he quickly started off another conversation.
"Sooooo, if you’re going there, I would recommend you to take this." Neptune took a map from his cape, which seemed quite wet, but nothing too bad. "There are unholy amounts of fog next to Time’s Tower, so, I advise you to be careful; we wouldn’t want you guys to get hurt, so you better have weapons too."
"Weapons? I have my Javelin right here, so we shouldn’t have much of a problem."
"Are you sure, dude? Who knows how dangerous this world is; hell, it could be even more dangerous than many of the places we usually visit! Killing off beasts surely has gotten your confidence a bit too high."
"...That is one of the most hypocritical things I heard you saying so far." Unicorn said. "However, I have to admit that you might be right on this; do you have any weapons with you?"
"I have my daggers; they are quite fragile since they are made of glass, but they are extremely sharp."
"Kurabe has those big red pins with her!"
Everyone at the group kept saying how they had their own weapons at hand, leaving Unicorn and Banshee quite relieved and impressed; soon enough, only Fylass was left.
"What about you, kid?"
"...I don’t think I have a weapon with me, but let’s see-" Fylass had opened their bag, just expecting to see the pocket watch, book, and key that belongs to them, but there was something else here; from the seemingly endless pit that is that bag, there was a lone cleaver, in pristine conditions, as if it was never touched. However, Fylass knew this cleaver; in fact, they used it before…
"...What…?" Fylass took out the weapon from their bag, and it was like if it didn’t weight at all, being as light as a knife.
"Oh wow, kid! I didn’t expect you to have something as odd as that, and less to see that you are seemingly accustomed with it! It’s like it’s not complicated for you to use it at all!"
"...I’ve used it before, to defeat… some enemies."
"Oh, really? It looks brand new, though…"
"It’s… surprising, I guess…"
"Well, this is good and everything, but can we get going already? Unicorn and I are only helping you so we can get out of this world anyways."
"You are the only one doing that, unlike you, I would like to help these people out; yes, I want to go back home, but our role is to help people from disasters and such, and I can see this as a disaster." Unicorn said.
"Urgh, you are such a pizza cutter; all you have is edge and no point." Banshee spoke up to Unicorn afterwards.
"Let’s get going, please. We need to get that thing."
"Wish you luck! But please, get that back for me. I’ll give you some shiny pearls and stuff if you like; and if you dare mess up something in the timeline, I will kill you, and if I don’t do it, the King or Time will do it." Neptune said.
After hearing that threat, everyone just went down their way to get to Time’s Tower; everyone had hoped that this would make things better for Lucid and everyone; or, well, Banshee and Unicorn were surprised that Neptune would give off that information that easily. Did he even care? Fylass’ attention turned to Chaos, though, who seemingly knew, or was supposed to know what is happening to the world around him, as if he was nothing, and everything at the same time.
"Is everything alright, Chaos?"
"...I don’t know."
Fylass went silent, as everyone suddenly stopped, seeing a wall of fog right in front of them, as the cold winds became stronger with each step that seemingly was taken into this anomaly.
"...I guess this is the path where Time's Tower is?"
"Maybe… Take that map out." Fylass did as such, and when looking at it, the kid noticed that steps had to be taken here, and not before.
"Let’s go…" Fylass said, as everyone delved deeper into this gloomy fog.
The map was a diagram, indicating the path to follow, and right next to it, there were numbers written in red pen, seemingly being the amount of steps that had to be taken to get to their destination; the group had to be more wary of their surroundings; they didn’t want to know what was hidden in the fog. Sadly, that turned out to be a reality, as unnatural steps were heard in all directions, not being able to realize that the voice was far away, or right in front of them, hiding in the mist.
"Stay back-'' A blunt hit was heard, made by Fylass who had been swinging the cleaver around, and when everyone looked to see them, they realized that the cleaver was drenched in tar, smelling like iron.
"W-What?! Kid, are you okay?!"
"Y-Yes, I am! I don’t know what I attacked, though… We must get there, now." More noises were heard as more steps and blunt hints were taken; everyone’s weapons were soaked in tar, but at this point, they were doubting that it was it. Nothing made sense, nothing seemed connected anymore.
Everyone was confused, but Fylass was stranded in fear; this felt too familiar to not be it, right? It played out exactly as that one day.
"Where is that Tower?! My weapon looks like it has been soaked in ink at this point!"
"I don’t know! But please, we need to get out! Fylass isn’t looking too good, and we need to get to the other end of this fog before something worse happens!" Lucid spoke up, as he accidentally stabbed something in the air, leaving out more of that black liquid around his rapier.
"WE’RE TRYING! I BET THAT KNIGHT LURED US HERE INTO A TRAP!" Banshee was falling into desperation at this point; The Wolpertinger didn’t know if this situation was more than Banshee could stand, but from the looks of it, he wasn’t taking this well, as his claws were covered in liquid darkness; Chaos was seemingly the most calm of the group, but everyone could see that he was nervous, but not for the creatures that they’re fighting, but Time’s Tower instead; he didn’t know why, but he was repulsed by it.
Fylass’ Cleaver was covered in tar at this point, only leaving the handle somehow intact; but after all of that was happening, they did a run for it, and ran in a straight line to get out of this nightmare; was this really that triggering?
"FYLASS!" Lucid ran after them, and so did the rest of the group when noticing that things were taking a toll on the worse; what they didn’t expect though, were the sheer cold ambience that followed, as the mist suddenly vanished, and a giant Grandfather’s Clock made itself present on the pure white sky, being surrounded by trees that, from their branches, there were growing up… clocks?
"Ah… Ah…" Fylass collapsed on the grass around them, as the nightmare seemingly ended for everyone, only leaving that stale feeling of emptiness and mystery that made Underland, ironically, a wonder.
"W-What were you trying to do?! If we weren’t so lucky, who knows what would’ve happened to all of us!" Banshee spoke up loudly towards Fylass, who was sloppily trying to get up, only to be carefully lifted up by Lucid, who was worried sick for them.
"Dear God, kid. Do not do that again… I understand that might’ve been horrible, but you shouldn’t have run away like that!"
"...I am so sorry… I just… didn’t want to be there anymore…"
Lucid sighted, patting Fylass on the head, as everyone looked at the giant Grandfather’s Clock in front of them; it was gray, like everything else on this land, but seemingly had golden frames and details around it which gave a nice contrast; on the top, there was a giant clock, that seemed ten times as bigger as Lucid, this one being the tallest of the group.
"Wow… This is something I’ve never seen before in Wonderland…" Mikuto said.
"Well, that’s kind of the point." Fettuccine followed.
Fylass took a closer inspection to the giant clock, realizing that there was a small entrance at the bottom; the door seemed to be locked, and there was a sign embedded into it, which said
"One minute before the sun, or the moon fully rises, and one minute before she left for good."
Fylass assumed that this referred to the pocket watch they had, and when using the key accompanying it to turn the hands of it to 11:59, the door opened wide.
"...Why is it always 11:59?" Nonetheless, everyone entered.
The inside was filled with gears and machinery, as the cold winds suddenly came to a close; the walls were filled with patterns of gears, and stars, and the floor was made of metal, with a dim gray color for it; There were hanging yellow light bulbs, lighting up the place, being held by black, rusty chains. On the sides, there were two doors, resembling medieval style, and a metallic staircase leading upwards was in front.
"Finally… Let’s get that thing and end this already…" Banshee said, as he tried to go towards the staircase, only to realize that there was a door right in front of him, which was locked. The Knight tried to use his claws to slash the door open, and when that didn’t work, he tried kicking it down, but to no avail; the door wasn’t going to budge that easily either.
"Oh, come on. Let’s try the doors then."
Chaos opened the left door with uneasiness, revealing a wide room, which resembles more of a guest room, than anything; couches and chairs were there, along with many clocks, being stuck on the walls.
"...Why is this place so weird…?" Genesis entered, checking the room out to see if they were able to find something useful; they noticed a lone drawer at the other end of the room, which was locked, even though it didn’t have a visible lock. A note was visible at the top of it, which had written the following.
"Between the beginning, and end of the afternoon."
"...Fylass, could you give me that pocket watch for a second?" Fylass did as such, and Genesis turned the clock to 03:00. When the hands turned to that hour, a click was heard from inside the locker, and it was finally open, revealing an ornamented key, among lots of faded letters.
"This must be it." Genesis said, as they left the room to use the key on the door right at the end of the staircase, but surprisingly, it didn’t seem to fit. "Oh… maybe this key is for the other door we haven’t checked yet? We can try that…" This time, the key fit, and the door opened, revealing a room filled with turning gears, and three giant gears at the other end which had embedded roman numbers from one to three. Right above, there were pictures of clocks pointing to 10:00, 04:30, and 01:00.
"Wait…" Genesis noticed that there was a safe right behind the gears, and so, they figured out that using the pocket watch again, pointing to those same hours, realizing that the gears stopped moving when pointing at those specific hours; with some combinations, Genesis could retrieve the safe, and opened it to get another ornamented key, among more faded letters.
The individual stuck in Dull Glass used the key to open the door above, revealing a giant room, resembling an observatory, with the walls filled to the brim with windows, revealing a dark, starry sky, which was weird, since the outside revealed a pure white sky instead; right below those windows, were gear themed telescopes, and at the center of the giant room, there was a plus-sized model of Gamble Galaxy, with Popstar at the middle; Fylass noticed that the planets weren’t organized well on the pedestals they were on, though.
"...Hey, could you help me organize these planets? These are not put together well…"
"How do you know that?"
"...I read about it." Fylass lied.
"Oh, alright."
Everyone at the group moved the planets around with care, from Floria to Mecheye, and when all of them were up to the pedestals, the planets suddenly floated above them, and a clicking sound echoed through the walls and floor of metal, revealing a ladder sliding down from a trapdoor at the ceiling.
"...Huh." Everyone climbed it up, which was pretty hard, due to how slippery and long it was, but soon enough, they all reached the end of it, revealing that they were on the top floor of the clock with the giant window in of the walls, being the giant clock they saw outside, even though the hands of it were inside the tower; all the walls were filled with ticking clocks, from all shapes and sizes, and at the end of the room, right in front of the clock, there was a bed, being occupied by a mysterious man of dark red hair, gray clothing, and a halo above him, holding the roman numbers of 1 to 12 on its sides.
"...Is this that Time dude? He looks pretty tame, to be honest…" Mikuto spoke up.
Fylass took a closer inspection to the man in question, and realized that there was something embedded on his chest, being the Chronosphere itself; a glowing, golden sphere, resembling a planet more than anything.
Tumblr media
"..." The kid tried to take it by force, but was careful enough to not wake the person up; they turned the sphere around, like if it was the top of a bottle, and thanks to a swift move, the Chronosphere was on their hand.
"...I did it." Fylass talked as low as they could to not wake up the man, and got out of the room as fast as they could, only being able to see the man in question, seemingly in some low pain as he slept.
Everyone got out of the Tower as fast as possible.
"Phew! We have it in our hands, amazing!" Fetty said.
"...How does this work though?" The Chronosphere suddenly gave out a strong light, and like if it was pure magic, Fylass was now standing on a ship; not any other ship though, but a stylized version of the Lor Starcutter itself.
"Wow…" Fylass checked the controls, and noticed that it was configured for it to send them to a specific point in time.
"...I guess this is it. I’ll come to the timeline when the incident happened, and I’ll quickly go back, alright?"
"Wait, you are going alone?!"
"Knowing how Time Travel works, I would fear that a paradox would happen. Don’t worry, I know what to do…"
"...I wish you luck, then… Please, please, be fine."
"You don’t need to worry about that! I’ll fix this, I swear… See you." Fylass ignored the group’s other warnings, and used the settings, which already were set for them to travel on the last festivity between Underland and Wonderland; if they had a timeline to go, it was that one. Fylass pushed a button right next to it, and suddenly, a portal was opened right in front of the Lor, and right after that, the ship was sucked into it.
The land right inside of the portal was like space; it even felt like it, with stars, moons, and even planets around the area. Another portal was opened, and the ship was sucked into it again.
Fylass was now in a forest, hearing screams of panic around.
"The Jabberwocky must be there, I need to go there fas-" The Wolpertinger heard a shattering sound, and realized that their jewel was shattered into pieces.
"W-WHAT!?" The kid fell down, and collapsed, starting to shatter, and when they looked behind, they saw that same man, in front of them.
"You shouldn’t have messed with Time, both literally, and figuratively. Guess we will prepare for a war thanks to the Club being gone."
Fylass closed their eyes, and shattered.
