Housano's Live-A-Half Assed summaries presents: Obsidious' Date Special Quest

CW: Live a Hero Spoilers

We start off this quest after the festivities and make our way back to the pool area where we find Obsidious. We notice that unlike his reckless abandon and destructive approach in battle as a hero, he is very delicate in his handling of the minerals. Usually this area is off limits to the public, but because of saving the city, they permitted to conduct research here. He asks if it's okay we stay with him as this might be boring, that it's not too late to go back to sight see with Alphecca and the rest of the crew. Little does he know we are sight seeing and have it set on him.

We says we are more than happy to join him which excited him and he immediately puts us to work. He is like a kid in a candy store taking as many samples as possible and already planning of doing a full investigation proposal with the university. He observes how all the ores contain ether and flow out into the river. He also comments on how he loves ores ever since he was a child. We ask if it's because he is looking for the ore on his bracelet which he does confirm. However, in a moment of vulnerability, he confesses that he always chases the unknown and he doesn't know what will happen when he finally finds his answer. Is that it? Does he just give up? What purpose will he have once he finishes? We remind him that there are still many unknowns in the universe and there are plenty after he achieves his goal. Obsidiou admits this makes him want to get rid of the unknown of his bracelet faster so he can move onto the next unknown while stroking our forehead. After the work is completed Obsidious hugs our MC and proposes to go to the baths to wash off and warm up.

Obsidious asks us if we had fun which of course you respond that you did. He also asks if we would like to do it again with him before grabbing us from behind, and sitting down with us with arms wrapped around us. He proposes a date which we'll do what we want as he cannot keep his distance from us. Our episode ends wrapped in his embrace in the pool as his voice fades into the sound of the water.

the school newspaper, Hokage-sama! now it is difficult to find a topic for an article that will not be related to the last war, but it will clearly stand out. therefore... houses. if you don't mind!

Well then, far be it for me to impede a good education.

The Hatake joined Konoha around the same time as the Sarutobi, although we had no prior formal alliances with either the Senju nor the Uchiha. Thus, our clan compound was established at the very edge of the village. It's very traditional— wooden shell, sliding paper walls, tatami mats, the whole outdated package. If you've ever passed by, you might have noticed that some of the buildings are occupied. Not the main house, of course, but I started renting out some of the others in order to deal with the upkeep after I moved out. Big place for a single person, and all.

I moved out the year that I turned fourteen. Moved again a decade later into a one-room apartment on the lower-west side— purely for practical reasons, you could say, since I'd gotten discharged from my post. Can't stay in an organization-specific barracks if you're not part of said organization anymore, after all. It was really only a place to sleep and keep my stuff, you know? Things are slower now, but even without any wars back then, I was constantly jumping back and forth between missions and training. The life of a shinobi is pretty busy, Gakusei-kun.

The worst of the infrastructural damage from Pain's attack was concentrated downtown, so quite a few of my personal affects were spared even if the apartment itself was damaged. Again, the Hatake Compound is on the outskirts of the village, so I was grateful to have somewhere to go in the aftermath. Hosted a couple friends for the few weeks that it took to get electricity and water up and running in the new residential districts. I'm honestly thinking about turning it into a public park or something, after the last of my tenants are gone.

Right now, I live in the Hokage's Residence, same as all my predecessors before me. A reconstruction, of course, not the original that Shodai-sama created with his kekkei-genkai. It's definitely very roomy, and the architect put a lot of thought into the feng-shui of window placements and which room faces what direction. I quite like the large paneless window in the home office, for all that it's technically a security risk. The view is very aesthetic.

the question of riku’s lapel buttons always plagued me. why did it seem like he was missing one? what an odd design choice.

“…there are several theories. One of these is that each button on a uniform has its own meaning, and the second button is for “the most important person”. riku, of course, is not wearing a gakuran in kh3, nor would he have the same number of buttons as one, if he did “give a button away”. (The act of giving would be metaphorical here, since there are no signs of popping a button off — Riku’s uniform has five buttons from the start.) I do wonder regardless if there is a reference to the tradition in his character design.

y’know. since his whole thing in KH3 is realizing that he finally has the strength to protect his most important person.

Hello, anon! This is a fantastic question! It's taken me quite some time though, for it to properly marinate in my mind. I've read a lot of fanfiction, and many of them have stuck with me. I was seriously a fanfic crackhead when I first started reading fanfiction a few years ago! Every day, I would read, read, read! I mostly read Naruhina because it is and always will be my main ship.

So, most of the stories that have resided in my head rent-free are Naruhina, and the majority are dark, smutty, or simply angsty. Not all of them, but the majority...

There's probably a whole lot more! But, that's all I can think of and find at the moment. The stories or oneshots I have picked have replayed constantly in my mind at random. It could be a scene, or the entirety of it, and I'm like "damn, I remember that story. That's a good ass story, or damn that was really fucking crazy, I'll never be able to get that out of my head." (in a good way.)

I remember the days when I used to read fanfictions a lot, I used to take notes on how other fanfic writers wrote their content. They all inspired me so much. So, it was only a matter of time before I began writing on my own.

As you can see, I've read a lot of dark Naruhina content. And I don't even think that's everything I've read, just the majority that's stuck in my head. I also know there's probably TONS of other life-changing, and thrilling Naruhina content that's out there and slowly but surely, I'll be sure to go around and begin reading them all when I get the chance.

This is an interesting unofficial English translation of Danganronpa 1 which includes Japanese cultural references! For example:

"You imagined the Marukome boy, didn't you?" Leon to Makoto when Makoto doubted his appearance as the Ultimate Baseball Star. Marukome-kun is the mascot character of a Japanese miso soup brand, and he's bald. In the official English translation, Leon simply said "What, were you expecting some kid with a shaved head?"

"The scariest thing in this kind of situation is recklessness within a group of peers. Haven’t you heard the stories about the activities of radical student movements?!" Kiyotaka to Mondo when Mondo suggested tying up Byakuya with a rope. The 'radical student movements' (gakusei undou) here may refer to those held by the Zengakuren back in the 60s. But Mondo thought undou as undoukai (sports festival) and talked about 'tug-of-war'. Official translation - "In this situation, there's nothing scarier than when an ally turns loose cannon! It's just like when we were kids, and someone would go crazy at sports day or whatever!"

The scene of Monokuma doing stretches with the students is a reference to the radio exercises hosted by NHK (Japanese public broadcasting company), which are often used in schools, sports, and even in some companies.
