Music of Afrofuturism
Throughout the course of Professor Tananarive Due’s Afrofuturism course, I have learned a lot about Black musicians who produce Afrofuturistic works. Our class has had conversations about the music of Afrofuturism which includes George Clinton & P-Funk, Beyonce, Sun Ra, Kendrick Lamar, Miles Davis, and Janelle Monae. Arguably, the first Afrofuturistic songs would be the spirituals of enslaved Africans who used music as a form of escape and hope for a better future. Althoug white Americans viewed the music of African slaves as their “contentment” with their bondage, the music served as a way for the Black community to remain resilient and futuristic in the face of racial horrors. Although the term Afrofuturism was coined by Mark Dery in 1993, scholars believed that the cultural movement began as early as the 1950’s with Sun Ra’s technological jazz. Sun Ra was absolutely an Afrofuturist musician for multiple reasons; his name is inspired by the ancient Egyptian Sun God Ra, he claimed to have been born on Saturn, and he presented space as a refuge for Black people seeking escape from racism. Another great musician of the Afrofuturism movement is Miles Davis, a composer recognized by Duke Ellington as the “Picasso of Jazz”. Professor Due specifically discussed and analyzed Davis’ works titled “Bitches Brew” and “Kind of Blue”, which are songs that I had never heard before. We also talked about Alice Coltrane and her contributions to the music of Afrofuturism, particular her songs “World Galaxy” and “Journey in Satchidananda”. I added all of these jazz songs to my playlist, of course! Some more contemporary artists who are a part of the Afrofuturism movement are Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, and Janelle Monae. We watched Beyonce’s live performance of her song “Love Drought” at the Grammy Award Show in 2017. The visual imagery of the performance in addition to the technology used throughout the performance was absolutely breathtaking. Professor Due also showed us Beyonce’s “Black is King” project in which she says “History is your future – one day you will meet yourself back where you started…but stronger”. This phrase in itself exemplifies the aims and goals of Afrofuturism which asks Black people to look back at their history in order to imagine better futures. The class also analyzed Kendrick Lamar’s video for his activist song “We Gon Be Alright” through the lens of the Black Speculative Arts movement. Janelle Monae has made groundbreaking contributions to Afrofuturism through her choice to identify her alter ego as an android to the futuristic messages of her work “Dirty Computer”. The music of Afrofuturism is an interesting topic to explore.

Blog #5
Blog Assignment #5
Adam Robinson
The Music of Afrofuturism
My Blog post #1 makes a quick mention concerning music in Afrofuturism. This is when Lil Nas X did his music video for “Montero.” This area of media must be given further light. So, this post will present several bodies of work containing, in the area of music, that all center on Afrofuturism.
Now my first introduction to this type of music was through the artist George Clinton & P Funk in the presentation “Mothership.” Not Only did the artist arrive on an actual alien craft in the live performance, but there was reference to the mothership coming. The music and the lyrics centered on a science fiction vibe and captivated the audience.
Next, Sun Ra can be thrown into the mix. He presents two different types of musical elements within this genre. First, he presents the idea of Utopianism in “Space is the Place,” where he is presented in a video as an Egyptian God who traveled to a planet where he could bring a colony of black people to live and thrive and have peace. The idea of utopia for the people of the African diaspora digs in perfectly to Afrofuturism, and so does the next concept he performs which has some similarities. Sun Ra performs here with his arkestra, or his orchestra but with a spelling change to emphasize the word “ark” in it. In this performance he provides musical escape. Escape from any worries or burdens that might be placed on black people, and even an escape from this planet if needs be. It is almost a futuristic escape and can make someone feel like he could even go back through the sands of time and liberate those entangled in the chains of slavery.
Really quickly, escape does not always have to be presented in a science fiction point of view.  In this scene from 12 Years a Slave, the main character who was wrongfully enslaved in the U.S. even though he is a free man, finds escape in the music created by those who grew up enslaved.
These artists, and others like Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis and Alice Coltrane, inspired continuing generations to pick up where they left off. The group Outkast, heavily influenced by George Clinton, provide a sound to Afrofuturistic music that speaks to utopia, dystopia, escape, alternate reality, and so much more. Now they are worthy of mention because they inspired Janelle Monae. Not only does she have several songs with this genre of music, but they are coupled with music videos sharing the same concepts.  Not only that, but she also has a short film that goes even deeper into everything related to Afrofuturism in “Dirty Computer.”
There are so many worthy mentions for this amazing genre in music. Here are a few more links to some great examples of music and Afrofuturism.
“Rockit”- Herbie Hancock.
“Bitches Brew”- Miles Davis, the Picasso of Jazz.
“World Galaxy”- Alice Coltrane.

Inner Space is the Place: Journey from Alice Coltrane to Swamini Turiyasangitananda
Tumblr media
Over 14 years ago, dublab founder Mark McNeill (also known as Frosty) encountered a high spirit on the cover of an album from 1972. Manifested in the form of Alice Coltrane, she was swathed in robes and framed by the figures brought to life by psychedelic artist Peter Max for her record, World Galaxy (1972, Impulse! Records).
Tumblr media
Album cover art, World Galaxy
“When I dropped the needle and heard the music my world was blown apart,” he recalls. “Between the newly shattered pieces Alice injected a shimmering light. Her string arrangements, lush and majestic, dissolved at points, giving way to intimate moments that burned and swung then swelled skyward again.”
What began as a crate digger’s revelation, was ignited further, with a friend’s introduction to her little known ashram records — four albums she self-released through her Sai Anantam Ashram in Agoura Hills, California between 1982 and 1995.
What he heard inspired him to forge a path of deep exploration of an artist, musical and spiritual figure, guru, wife, widow, mother, aunt, transcendent person who encapsulated both the super and the human. Years later, this exploration resulted in a deep masters thesis examination of Alice Coltrane through the words and music of those who knew her best.
Forevermore Transcending: The Ashram Albums of Alice “Swamini Turiyasangitananda” Coltrane, Frosty’s recently released audio documentary is a kalaidoscopic exploration of Alice ‘Swamini Turiyasangitananda’ Coltrane’s devotional music, through interviews with family members, students, musical collaborators and scholars. We took some time to talk with him about the woman, artist and the process of this storytelling.
As a person with a deep knowledge of Alice Coltrane’s work, what was it that drew you to this portion of her musical output specifically?
My history with her music, being a music lover and explorer and radio DJ, you are always seeking new sounds. Those are the things that pull me in. That’s what makes a life in music exciting — to know that there’s always something around the corner — to know that there’s always new music being made.
To stumble upon something like this is really special.
I heard this music and I started digging around for more of it. There were little bits and pieces online, but one of the most obvious was her ashram.
This is in our town essentially. I jumped in the car the next Sunday and went to visit the ashram. I attended a service, met some of the folks and discovered that this ashram she had started in the 70s continued to exist.
“I remember the ashram as kind of a journey. You know, you were going to the magical place, it had that feel to it. You know, you were going there on a magical Sunday.” –Flying Lotus (Alice Coltrane’s great-nephew)
I was able to dig up more of the music and wrote an article and made a radio mix of the music- about 5 or 6 years ago. It ended up being one of those things i put up and it seemed to resonate with, for example, Brian Eno tweeted about it.
I realized that when people heard this music, although it was based on ancient Vedic texts, and in a way so different, so specific to her world, it also had this resonance amongst a larger audience. So I just continued to explore what the music was all about.
It was actually one of the reasons that I wanted to pursue this Master’s Degree — to be able to take time out to have kind of a more thoughtful examination of these records.
Alice was married to John Coltrane and her musical and spiritual journey seemed to take a turn away from the mainstream following his passing. Do you feel like his death is something that drew her more directly towards this spiritual path?
He [John Coltrane] was already exploring eastern meditation, and by the time he and Alice met, he had read Autobiography of a Yogi, he was doing his exploration. When they met, they kind of found common ground over this.
They really intensified their practice of meditation and they were exploring this kind of world while also having a family. And in the four years when they were married, they had three sons (she already had a daughter from a previous marriage), a family of 4 young children.
That’s something her daughter always says: that her mom was human and superhuman in a way.
“This is a black woman from Detroit. She had an ashram in the westernized part of the world, became a guru, and left quite a legacy.” –Michelle Anne Coltrane (Sita)
She was the realest of the real. In many ways, she walked the walk and talked the talk. She was someone who was very principled and very serious — but always human. She made sure the kids did their chores, she was Mom. But she was also something greater than that.
So they were doing this thing, and John Coltrane passed away, which was really tragic, and threw her into turmoil.
On one hand you could look at it and say, “this is a woman having a nervous breakdown. She has lost the love of her life. She has 4 young children and her whole life has been shaken up.”
I think that is also true. She was obviously still seeking, but it wasn’t until her friend Vishnu Wood invited her to come to a talk by Swami Satchidananda who had been brought to New York by Peter Max.
So she went to attend this talk and the lightbulb went on and she realized “This is the path that I’m going down” and she befriended Swami. They became super close and she started traveling further down that path.
Her recollection of this time is that she’s traveling through the universe. She recognized that people didn’t understand what she was going through. She would fast, and go through sonic bombardment — the deepest most intense- earth shaking universal sounds.
In her world — in the Vedic tradition — Om was the first sound in the universe, Om created the universe. So she was part of this sonic theology. She started to experience these kinds of sounds, basically God showing her, exposing her to these things.
She was also astral traveling through the universe and basically being brought to the beginning of time and experiencing the start of the universe. All of these things coming through her meditation.
To say that she was on a spiritual path is very accurate and to say that it was kickstarted by Johns’ death is also very accurate.  She went full speed in her spirituality but she also had these tribulations and came out the other end and started making records.
Tumblr media
Alice and John Coltrane, alicecoltrane.org
Astral traveling through the universe! How did she then shift from making her solo records into building the Ashram?
She was going deeper and deeper into spiritual studies and in 1973 she basically was going to India with Swami Satchidananda.
Her spiritual studies were becoming more important than releasing albums, and so in the early 70s, she donned these saffron robes and she was anointed by God.
Tumblr media
Alice Coltrane and Swami Satchidananda, alicecoltrane.org
She recalls this whole experience as wearing these white robes and God pouring the color of saffron into the robes, and basically kind of reaching this point of self realization after deep studies in India. One of the things people don’t know is that she was fluent in Hindi.
In the 70s, she was asked to come to speak at a place called the One Mind Temple in San Francisco, which morphed into the Church of Saint John Coltrane. She went to speak to them and she basically founded her ashram called the Vedantic Center at the One Mind Temple.
They were studying yoga, meditation, they were feeding the homeless, it was very connected to the African American civil rights, social rights, self-empowerment movement.
She ended up bringing this group of devotees together, started it there and moved it down to Southern California, because she had just moved from New York and started the ashram at her house, in the valley, in Woodland Hills. A couple years later she got this land in Agoura Hills and opened the ashram there in 1977. In February of 1983, the center moved to the (then) Shanti Anantam Ashram and in 1984  Shanti Anantam re-emerged as Sai Anantam.
At that point, she fully devoted herself to her spiritual life, and people thought she had completely retired from music. She didn’t put out a commercial album until 2004, Translinear Light.
There was a period from 78-2004 that people (26 years) that people just thought she had retired – but she was actually playing music more than ever, but in a spiritual context- at the ashram.
Tumblr media
Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda with some of her students and their families, alicecoltrane.org
How were people gaining access to the records and what was her intention with pressing them if not for commercial release?
The very first of these records was Turiya Sings. It was totally a surprise to her devotees.
She told her students to meet her here on the ashram grounds at 4am (this was traditionally an early meditation hour) and asked them all to bring a portable cassette player.
She handed out these unmarked tapes — they didn’t know what they were — and asked them to find a quiet place and listen to it. So they all went off and put the tapes in and listened to them and they were blown away but also confused. Many of them didn’t know who was singing at all, many of them thought it was a man, although they were intimately familiar with her voice, they had never heard it in this kind of context. That was the first time she shared that music with anyone.
She pressed this music up and she made it available, but she was of the mindset that it’s important for people to come to things, and John had this idea too. It means more when you come to it and you can discover it.
One of her other big things was when the time is right, the time is right and so she was never in a rush. The records were available, but mostly circulating within the spiritual community,  pressed in small numbers and never meant to be pop hits. They were meant to be spiritual aids and spiritual inspiration, and that’s why they were kind of unheard for so long.
Up to this point, she’d been known as an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, but not necessarily a vocalist. It seems like she’s using this channel —  finding her voice in a very literal way — what do you think it was that allowed for this to become the primary vehicle for her message?
She would say, the voice is the soul reflection. Especially in Turiya Sings, the idea of soul reflection is pretty accurate, and so this was just a very personal kind of devotional body of work. It was her having this personal connection to God, but to be able to record it and share it with others so that they could benefit from it.
The interesting thing is that she’s doing this totally on her own terms, which is pretty cool. You’ve got somebody who has a spiritual history and legacy. She grew up playing piano and organ every week in the gospel church. She talked about her early experiences of playing in the church and seeing people totally fall out and go into this boom! spiritual state where the spirit overtook them. And in religious celebration — she was kind of scoring that experience — she had experience playing those dynamics.
She was part of a vocal group called The Premiers, she had sung in the past. These are things that had always been a part of her but in a new context, and the fact that she was taking ancient Vedic text and doing her own arrangements of them.
These were her own specific arrangements, from thousands and thousands of year old texts, and she’s telling these stories of God in different forms, of hindu dieties, and these are stories that are ancient but she’s putting them into a new context, into new musical settings and putting her own twist on it and adding her own personal history.
But you know, she’s from Detroi.  She’s a Detroit church girl, so you know, it’s gonna sound different.
She’s a female, African American, avant-garde jazz musician, spiritual guru, mother, all of these things. And any one of those things in 20th century american society can be a challenging identity.
So she was all of these things wrapped into one and more, but also had sidestepped, extracted herself from a space of criticism — she was concerned with other matters.
“…George Clinton and Sun Ra are pointing to outer space as a metaphor for where marginalized people can be authentically themselves, Alice is pointing to inner space. They’re looking to the stars; she’s looking to the universe inside of her.”–Varun Soni, Dean of Religious Life at the University of Southern California
One of the things that came out in research — George Clinton and Sun Ra, they were looking for liberation in outer space and Alice was seeking it in inner space.
So by the idea of self-realization and self-determination and liberation, she could be her own person in the universe and liberate herself from all of the static that was out there.
One thing that kept returning in these interviews was this idea of her as both transcendent spiritual guru figure and just an earthly being who does normal things. I loved so much the visual of her testing a synth in Guitar Center.
That’s the human element. I was talking to her daughter the other day, Michelle, and she was like “My mom would like eat a Baby Ruth candy bar. She was a person!”
Her sister Marilyn, who is also a phenomenal person, she wrote “Love Hangover” for Diana Ross. She was a Motown songwriter and musician from Detroit and moved out to California when Mo West moved out here. A phenomenal soul artist and disco artist. She would drive Alice to the ashram on Sundays because they lived really close to each other.
It would be really quiet on the way, she wouldn’t speak to her sister much because she was preparing for her satsang, her sermon, so it was quiet. And then they would go and have this celebration and chant and play music and spend time together and then they would be super charged after that and then they would leave and be giggling and making jokes with each other. Just being sisters. They would go out and Alice would want to go get ice cream cones, so they would go and get ice cream. But she didn’t take these robes off. This was the real deal. The spiritual part of her was not a front, but also the human part of her was still there.

Alice Coltrane
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alice Coltrane (née McLeod, August 27, 1937 – January 12, 2007), also known by her adopted Sanskrit name Turiyasangitananda or Turiya Alice Coltrane, was an American jazz pianist, organist, harpist, singer, composer, swamini, and the second wife of jazz saxophonist and composer John Coltrane. One of the few harpists in the history of jazz, she recorded many albums as a bandleader, beginning in the late 1960s and early 1970s for Impulse! Records and Universal Distribution.
Biography
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Alice McLeod studied classical music, and also jazz with Bud Powell in Paris, where she worked as the intermission pianist at the Blue Note Jazz Club in 1960. It was there that she was broadcast on French television in a performance with Lucky Thompson, Pierre Michelot and Kenny Clarke. She began playing jazz as a professional in Detroit, with her own trio and as a duo with vibist Terry Pollard. She married Kenny "Pancho" Hagood in 1960 and had a daughter with him. In 1962–63 she played with Terry Gibbs's quartet, during which time she met John Coltrane. In 1965 they were married in Juárez, Mexico. John Coltrane became stepfather to Alice's daughter Michele and the couple had three children: John Jr. (1964–1982), a drummer; Oranyan (b. 1967), a DJ who played saxophone with Santana for a period of time; and Ravi (born 1965), a saxophonist.
In January 1966 she replaced McCoy Tyner as pianist with John Coltrane's group. She subsequently recorded with him and continued playing with the band until his death on July 17, 1967. After her husband's death she continued to play with her own groups, later including her children, moving into progressively more meditative music.
Coltrane was a devotee of the Indian guru Sathya Sai Baba. In 1972, she moved to California, where she established the Vedantic Center in 1975. By the late 1970s she had changed her name to Turiyasangitananda. She was the spiritual director, or swamini, of Shanti Anantam Ashram (later renamed Sai Anantam Ashram in Chumash Pradesh) which the Vedantic Center established in 1983 near Malibu, California. On rare occasions, she continued to perform publicly under the name Alice Coltrane.
The 1990s saw renewed interest in her work, which led to the release of the compilation Astral Meditations, and in 2004 she released her comeback album Translinear Light. Following a 25-year break from major public performances, she returned to the stage for three U.S. appearances in the fall of 2006, culminating on November 4 with a concert for the San Francisco Jazz Festival with her son Ravi, drummer Roy Haynes, and bassist Charlie Haden.
Alice Coltrane died of respiratory failure at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center in suburban Los Angeles in 2007, aged 69. She is buried alongside John Coltrane in Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York.
Impact
Paul Weller dedicated his song "Song For Alice (Dedicated to the Beautiful Legacy of Mrs. Coltrane)", from his 2008 album 22 Dreams, to Coltrane; the track entitled "Alice" on Sunn O)))'s 2009 album Monoliths & Dimensions was similarly inspired. Electronic musician Flying Lotus is the grand-nephew of Alice Coltrane. The song "That Alice" on Laura Veirs' album Warp and Weft is about Coltrane.

Blog #6
As I begin the sixth and last blog post of the quarter, I just wanted to mention how I had such an amazing time this quarter and learned an immense amount. I will dedicate this blog post to two great works of Afrofuturism, the first being Flying Lotus- Never Catch Me ft. Kendrick Lamar and the second being Galaxy in Satchidananda by Alice Coltrane. Beginning with the first Afrofuturist work, I truly enjoyed this song and music video. Since I was about thirteen years old, I was a big supporter of Kendrick Lamar and his music. I really believe he is talented and it is very nice to see that he is now including himself in Afrofuturist works. The two children that can be found in the music video which at first display them inside the coffin symbolizes a greater issue, and I believe this issue connects to gang violence and the two children are ultimately innocent individuals who were just unluckily there at the time of the violence. I really think Kendrick Lamar and Flying Lotus do a great job at depicting these issues towards the viewers watching and I would love to see more Afrofuturist works done by them. In addition, I love the joyful aspect that was brought into the music video as the two children in the coffin began to awake towards the middle of the music video and start dancing. This music video ultimately has a share of joy and sadness to it which makes this work very interesting to many viewers watching. Moving onto the next work known as Galaxy in Satchidananda by Alice Coltrane, one can observe that this work is involved in the genre of music which is known as jazz. Alice Coltrane was a very important figure as she brought many great works such as Galaxy in Satchidananda. Jazz was very famous amongst the African American community, and Alice Coltrane brought her great talent to this genre of music. I really enjoyed listening to this Afrofuturism work and I am going to research more about Alice Coltrane as her music was really soothing to my ears. It is amazing that her husband, John Coltrane, was also very famous in the musical genre of Jazz as he was a saxophonist and composer. I am definitely going to look into many of his works as well as I believe I will find it very engaging.

Blog Assignment #6 Daniel H
We have discussed the themes of Afro Futurism greatly throughout this entire quarter, and I have learned many new things that I had never known of before this course, but for this specific blog post, I would like to focus on two bodies of work in which we discussed in class recently. The first body of work I want to focus on is the song and the music video “Never Catch Me” by Flying Lotus, which also features Kendrick Lamar. The second body of work I will focus on is “Galaxy in Satchidananda” by Alice Coltrane. This body of work has a very interesting theme that I would like to share my insight for. Firstly, I would like to talk about “Never Catch Me” by Flying Lotus. I think the Afro Futurism theme of the music video is very interesting, as it shows a side of black culture we do not always see in music, which was very cool to see. Also, this song and music video really stood out to me and was cool because I am personally a very big Kendrick Lamar fan, and I have always enjoyed his music and creativity when it comes to his works, in both his lyrics of his music as well as the creativity he has when making a music video as well. Kendrick Lamar has always had a powerful voice when it comes to music and talking about black culture and the way many times African American people are not always being treated fairly, so I thought it was very cool to see him make a song like this, which I respect and admire him a lot for doing so. If anyone just listens to this song, and pays close attention to the words Kendrick Lamar is saying, they will realize how cool and interesting a song like this really is. Next, let's talk about “Galaxy in Satchidananda” by Alice Coltrane. This body of work really puts an emphasis on the “futurism” aspect of Afro Futurism. The sounds made were very interesting, as it was very different from most works I have heard in the past. “Galaxy in Satchidananda” by Alice Coltrane has a much different approach than “Never Catch Me” which I find very interesting, because it shows the differences in bodies of work when it comes to AfroFuturism and its themes. Overall, both of these works have interesting themes and I enjoyed viewing them both greatly.

Monthly Listening: February 2018
2018 in album listening officially kicked off this month with already a list of titles to get through. The goal this year is trying to balance the amount of new with the non-2018 stuff, and it’s going OK so far. The best find all around is Windy & Carl’s Depth -- maybe my favorite listen overall so far from the year. I just feel a lot from the distortion, like an ambient version of Loveless by My Bloody Valentine.
I started reviewing albums this month for Spectrum Culture. Here’s me on ABBA’s ABBA: The Album and Johanna Warren’s Gemini II. I also did some Listening columns. Here are words on my listens from the first half of the month and my overall favorite K-pop stuff.

Learning to use this knowledge in a way that can change your life is the very basis of personal development. The reason why it is so hard for most of us to grasp this concept, never mind use it to our advantage, lies in the fact that most of our life experiences and material objects are created and attracted to us by our subconscious thoughts. It is the automatic thoughts you think that are responsible for creating your life! Most of these thoughts are negative in nature.

❤ Alice MacLeod, also known as Turiya (or Swamini Turiyasangitananda), but better known as Alice Coltrane, as the wife of the legendary John Coltrane, died in 2007 at age 69, 40 years after that John had left this world.
Alice married John in 1965, two years before the death of the greatest genius of jazz.
The following year she replaced McCoy Tyner in Coltrane's quartet, remaining there until the death of saxophonist.
Afterwards, she performed with his own band together with Pharoah Sanders, Joe Henderson, Frank Lowe, Carlos Ward, Rashied Ali, Archie Shepp.
In addition to the piano, Alice Coltrane has also played the harp and the Wurlitzer organ. She was a leader of various groups and has recorded several albums for Impulse, including ‘Monastic Trio’, ‘Journey in Satchidananda’, ‘Universal Consciousness’ and ‘World Galaxy’. Passed with Warner Brothers, she released ‘Transformation’, ‘Eternity’ and his double live ‘Transfiguration’ in 1978.
After a long silence (lasted 26 years!) she has released in 2004 the ‘Translinear Light’ album.
Recorded on several occasions between 2000 and 2004, Translinear Light (the title comes from a word pun on the famous John diminutive: ‘Trane’) sees Alice Coltrane playing together with prestigious musicians such as bassist Charlie Haden (which alternates with James Genus), drummers Jack DeJohnette and Jeff Watts and her sons Ravi and Oran (present in a duet with her mother) on saxophones, as well as a religious choir.
Alice Coltrane makes a thoughtful and spiritual disk that is configured as the logical projection of the ideas that animated his music until the '70s, here exposed with greater lucidity and clarity.
The disc is all played on the strings of an inner serenity of its author; Alice here intends with conviction and sincerity to maintain and upgrade the huge legacy left by the immense John Coltrane. Here you find harmonic developments that recall both the Eastern music both the blues; the use unsettling Wurlitzer organ (seen by many as outdated) next to the piano and synthesizers; sounds and smells of Africa and India.
The 11 songs built fascinating atmosphere (and accessible even to ears little accustomed to jazz) that summarize the course of a long career and highlight the skill of the descendants of Coltrane (Oran on alto sax, Ravi on tenor and soprano).
In several steps is heard the memory of ‘A Love Supreme’, understood as maximum and happy creative moment, as an open work that will never cease to converse with other subsequent works.
❤ ITA = Un mondo a parte. Un gusto superiore. Una pura, eterna bellezza.

Britain's Roman negotiations as well as roads are transformed in an underground map The map of the UK's Roman cities, roadways and communities, was developed by Mr Sasha Trubetskoy, a pupil studying stats at the University of Chicago.
