I so normal I love a pony island 2

Okay so from the details we know so far about Pony Island 2 it's compared more to "the Hex" than "Inscryption" BUT "there's a card game in there somewhere". What interests me a lot is the Earth Prison. My assumption is it's either an entirely seperate underworld OR it's the underworld under new management after the Crusader unknowingly broke the Devil out of the original Pony Island Arcade Cabinet.

I believe this is the guy in charge now? I'm not well versed in Chinese mythology, but a quick search DOES reveal he's a real deity, a god of death.

What interests me is the "Ten Kings of Hell" thing. Is it possible we're gonna meet those aswell? Could they be the new Daemons, or something similar?

Core Files definitely continue to be a goal of ours, and HOLY SHIT, either we're gonna be seeing the original Daemons return, or perhaps this time the Ten Kings will act as the new protection system for the core files. I don't really expect any other DMG characters like P03 S-do or Rebecha to return since this is set in the underworld and they're, well, living world videogame characters. BUT there's a definite possibility we could see the Daemons make a return. Maybe some Gamefuna shenanigans could be afoot, though! I'm wondering where in the timeline this will all fit. Both Pony Island games seem a bit anachronistic - the first game had you play as a Crusader, and this one has you play as a Nomad, but in both cases the underworld is shown to be advanced enough to have it's own software and technology. Logically speaking, both games would probably be on the farthest end of the Mullinsverse timeline? I assume? So logically it'd be like Pony Island 1 -> Pony Island 2 -> Inscryption in development, Kaycee's burning -> The Hex -> Main Events of Inscryption. I'm so fucking hyped maaaaan I didn't even think Panda Circus would ever happen. I assumed if a Pony Island 2 were to actually be announced it'd be something else. It's really awesome to see how far the game's come since it's original reveal way back in Pony Island 1. Can't wait to see what Daniel Mullins has in store for this one

I do indeed have an Inscryption OC! Their name is Amos Silvano Toomes, or as they’re more well known, The Painter!

They’re a resident of Leshy’s forest ever since they abandoned their role as a student of Magnificus, and they assist in the carving and decoration of the masks Leshy uses during cardplay. Or at least, that’s what they remember!

Their play style is an aggressive combination of magic and beasts, and heavily relies on flying creatures to attack the opponent directly. However, The Painter starts each game with at least two trees on their board spaces, which does block some attacks from the opponent, but hinders The Painter from loading the board with flying creatures.

The Painter is skittish, aloof, socially awkward, and nervous, but generally a good sport and a fine friend if you manage to keep their memory from resetting long enough for them to remember you. They tend to repeat their words, laugh anxiously as filler dialogue, and let their sentences trail off as if they’ve forgotten what they were going to say. Their memory is foggy, but they have frequent spells of déjà vu. That being said, they aren’t frustrated by their bad memory. They seem to just accept it.

The Painter was actually an independent artist, a few months away from being a graduate from the Cooper Union, who was contracted to make designs for Inscryption cards. Eventually, Amos was brought on board for the Inscryption computer game, but this was all a ruse to utilize Amos as one of the first test subjects of bringing sentient life into the game. The experiment failed, and Amos lost most of their sentience, becoming “NPC-esque”. That being said, every now and then, they get strange flashes of their old life, which manifests as déjà vu. Unfortunately, their memory resets frequently, leaving them forgetful and unable to carry most knowledge of the player past one or two resets. However, showing them their old artworks jogs their memory a little bit. If you take cards you know The Painter designed, and give them to The Painter during any phase of the game, they start to “wake up”.

“Waking up” The Painter results in Amos falling into a nervous depression because of the awareness of their entrapped state. Their name in the game would change to “Toomes” instead of “The Painter”, and their area of the forest would quickly be loaded with new paintings and sketches, since they would then also become aware of the passage of time and get really bored really quickly when left alone.

In the game, they’re completely made of wood, and able to disassemble and reassemble themself like a ball-jointed doll. This feature also gives them inhuman flexibility and degrees of rotation in their joints. They’re scared of the dark, and tend to carry a lantern with them at all times (which is a little dangerous being that they’re made of wood, but hey, they’ve made it this far). Their favorite color is goldenrod, they like American pop-rock music, and their favorite subject to paint is portraits. They tend to hang out in the trees, and they definitely have a jumpscare animation if you get too close to them while they’re hidden in phase 2 of the game.

I was working on my animatic and browsing online for what people thought Kaycee Hobbes might look like.  I don’t know if it’s random, but I remember when I played ACT 2 my character had crazy red messy hair in thick chunks. And I realized....  It looked similar to Kaycee’s card.  So I went back and analyzed all the character avatar options in Grimora’s Mirror room.  ALL of the card silhouettes match up with the character avatars AND the figurines!! “Oh but their faces don’t” I hear you say, assumedly.  And to that, I say...  I dont know XD;  However I DO know that their eyes go like ╭╮ if you stab yourself in the eye with the squirrel dagger!  Don’t know if anyone had confirmed this, or if it was obvious and I was just dumb, but I feel this is some SOLID evidence that Kaycee’s card does NOT represent her actual appearance.  YOUR DEATHCARD IS BASED ON THE FIGURINE YOU USE

A while ago I was checking out Jonah Senzel's website because I enjoyed his DMG soundtracks and wanted to see what else he'd made and I remembering see this, I feel like it might be relevant now with the Gamefuna announcement

on another note, i still can’t tell who leshy is talking to. i know at face value that seems arbitrary, but if leshy is trying to disguise his knowledge of luke, such emotion is unnecessary. maybe he’s genuinely upset? while it isn’t confirmed, kaycee’s mod seems to take place after luke died, and leshy does talk to the player by saying ‘ you ‘ as well, but does he mean our protag in the cabin, or us?

it’s obvious he knows that there’s someone out there—it’s not that i’m questioning—it’s only the question of why so much emotion? who does he think is playing kaycee’s mod?

( addendum: the reason for my questioning is because kaycee’s mod isn’t in luke’s recording and doesn’t have his voicing. i know when it was created, i’ve played through the entirety of it and have read each dev log, and i know about kaycee’s fate. maybe he isn’t there because of oversight or just simply something to do with the in real creation of inscryption. maybe i’m looking too much into that fact? and, i suppose concerning placement, kaycee’s mod is only available after we finish luke’s story and his exploration of inscryption. by that standpoint, it would be impossible for him to play it, but i know that fact itself probably doesn’t amount to anything and is more of a factor of replayable to inscryption and act one introduced while adding some lore. )

i’m unsure myself. since there’s the arg aspect of it, and the actual arg component itself, are we technically apart of inscryption? i don’t know. i’m finally getting around to collecting the endgame dialogue in act one. hopefully it’ll be up soon?
