One constant is Tel Aviv is a pride flag. Tel Aviv is referred to as one of the most LGBTQIA+ friendly cities in the world by the Out magazine. Approximately 25% of the city's population identifies themselves as from the community. Often derided as doing pink-washing to hide the Israel-Palestine conflict, Israel and esp Tel Aviv has set benchmarks in being inclusive. Israel made discrimination based on sexuality illegal in 1992, has remodelled itself as the safe place in the region for the community, boasts a vibrant gay life, and acknowledges the community heartily with its 'Tel Aviv loves all genders' slogan. Still no harm taking a leaf from here to talk 'pink-washing'.
