We're the Same, You and I
@nightriverart slides this into your inbox. Please excuse the delay, I got such bad writers block in May. I hope me going insane on this makes up for it <3.
Prompt: Ohh I have one! 🤩 Could you perhaps do a DCA x Reader one where the DCA is a Yandere? Preferably romantic but that and whether it’s Sun, Moon or both is up to you.
As always, my requests are still open!
wc: 2,896
cw: yandere, death, obsessive love
Disclaimer: I do not condone or romanticize a yandere relationship. This is just fun to think about.
Enjoy!
"So, how'd you do it?" You look up from your tea to your coworker, scarfing down his lunch. Crumbs drip out of his mouth while he speaks, but he's done this often enough you decide to ignore it. "Get the attendant down to PNS. We used to have to sneak up on them and shut them down." You raise a brow.
"Why does everyone keep saying that?" You've had this conversation so many times, but still have a hard time believing it. "I literally just ask them. I go 'hey, Sun, it's been almost a month since you went down' and he follows me. What, were you guys dragging him?" They don't drag the glamrocks, but a lot of the human staff here treat the attendant strangely. Like he isn't as sophisticated as the rest of the animatronics.
"No, Faz would have our heads. Neither of them would go!" He throws his hands up, before stuffing his face with more food. Ew. "Anyways, chief told me to tell you that you're their designated mechanic now. We don't want to deal with it." You can't say you're surprised. It's not like anyone worked on them other than you, anyway.
"Sounds good." You stab your fork into your lunch, wondering how Sun and Moon would react. They do seem to like you, but would they be annoyed that it's just you? You're not the best mechanic in the world, if you're being honest with yourself. They probably just follow you because you're nicer.
"Come on, move your face a little. Do you like them? Mad about it?" Yes yes, you're a bit stone faced. Emoting is not your strong suit.
"It's fine. I don't mind working on them." He scoffs, but his watch rings, so you are left in silence.
How do you feel about it? You do like them, Moon with his silly playfulness and Sun's exuberance. At the very least, they do talk to you a lot. But they probably talk to everyone like that.
*~*
"So!" When all the kids have been picked up, you work on Sun, methodically fixing joints and cleaning toddler germs off of him while he sits. He moves where you push him, flattening his rays while you scrub his face plate. "I heard you're our main mechanic?"
You purse your lips. He's probably annoyed.
"Yes, I'll try my best. Let me know if I do anything you don't like, or different than the other mechanics." He inhales in his voice box, hovering his hands to mime gasping in shock.
"Nonsense! You're the only one that does it right anyways." You find that hard to believe, but maybe this is another joke you're missing. You're not that good at them. You scrub hard at a particularly sticky spot on his cheek, mulling it over.
"Right, after I cross your wires wrong." Maybe 'right' in this situation refers to how many times you needed to be corrected?
He catches your hand. You look down in confusion, watching him spread your fingers out and lace your hands together. Sun's long fingers drape over your hand, covering it.
"No, you don't. We'd rather have you." The words are uncharacteristically serious, staring into your eyes. "And that's not a joke, starshine!" The old exuberance is back, rays swinging in a pendulum. "You only cross our wires in the good way!"
You huff. Well, at least he's not mad about it. You pass the rag to your other hand to resume scrubbing, leaving your hand clasped in his. He's humming happily, so whats the harm? They probably hardly ever get real interaction other than children, and he's warm.
"Scooch." You tap Sun's legs with your foot, stepping inside the circle of his legs when he moves them. Crouching in front of him, you get your scraper and start working at the stickers. A few of them are too stubborn, but Sun squeezes tighter when you pull your hand. "Can I have my other hand?"
His face can't move, but the down turn of his optics shows he's pouting. "Ill hold your hand later. Promise." He practically lights up, rays spinning rapidly while you put some elbow grease into the stickers. Geeze, he's so easy to please. If only you understood people like this.
Later, you keep your promise. As the lights shut off to start Moon's patrol, you let him swing your hand side to side. Moon spins his face plate when he takes over, lifting your arm over your head to spin.
"Ugh, go patrol. Ill be in the atrium." You scoff, pushing past him to open the daycare doors open. He isn't going to. He never really does when you're on shift.
*~*
"Hey Moon." You have your hands deep inside a staff bot in the atrium, fixing wires. Staff bots need to be repaired en masse, faulty wires need to be fixed, clean things kids broke, the like. The nighttime animatronic regards you from where he's perched in the rafters of the atrium, watching you like always. It's sort of a routine.
The wrench creaks against the staff bot's bolts while you unscrew them, working the back panel open. Poor guy probably had food thrown onto him again by a rowdy child. The silence is kind of nice, compared to the end shift of the day. Plus, with Moon staring at you, it makes the giant 'Plex not seem so creepy at night. He is a security bot after all.
"Is this pizza?" A serious amount of gunk is stuck inside their chest cavity, caked onto rotors and important wires. You purse your lips a little and reach for your rag, disconnecting less important components to clean them. At least it's not moldy.
To your chagrin, the next staff bot also has gunk stuck to his wires. Bleh.
"Moon?" You call up, hands deep inside the next animatronic. "Can you check the cameras to see if there was a food fight?" Then at least you can brace yourself. And get more cleaning rags.
"There was." A month ago, this would have startled you so bad you probably would have stabbed yourself. He's very good at being completely silent, but you know to listen closely for the slight ticks of machinery. You need to oil them soon.
You turn, not surprised to see him crouched next to you just a little too close. They manage kids, of course they'd have no personal bubble.
"Pizza fight. Then they threw the rest of the food at the cleaning bots." Of course. Not a parent in sight either, you're sure.
"Thanks." You back out of the staff bot and stretch, rolling your shoulders back. You're going to need real cleaning supplies and more air canisters if you have any chance of getting these guys clean tonight.
Moon watches you silently - sometimes you wonder why. Doesn't he have patrol? He just keeps saying this is patrol, and you are the only mechanic on shift tonight, so. If a security bot catches something, he'll probably leave then.
"I need some more tools." You tap his face plate, resulting in little smudge on your finger. "And you need a clean. Do you want to patrol and then I'll clean you after?" He spins his face plate around, standing up from a crouch to tower over you. Your head tilts up, nonplussed.
"There could be boogeymen, you know." He wiggles his fingers in front of your face, voice raspy. "Not afraid of the dark?"
"Not particularly. You're the security bot. You'd just deal with it." He seems to freeze, for a second. He doesn't move as much as Sun does, but this is total stillness.
"You trust us." Its said as a statement, not a question. Your brow furrows a little.
"Yes? If I'm to be your mechanic, anyway." Why would you not? You don't really get why they freak out the other staff. They're just a little strange, like you are. In a way, the two of you are peas in a pod. Maybe the way they cannot move their face the same way you can't makes you feel more kindred with them.
"That's good." The response is layered a with static. Argh, did something get stuck in their chest too? You hope the speaker is okay. "That's...great." He twitches all of a sudden, and then is cord is taking him into the rafters.
Okay then. You shrug, and pack up your bag to head off to your the storage room. Accompanying you moments later is a soft ringing of bells. You have a shadow tonight, which makes you a a bit happy.
"What would you do if there was a boogeyman? Stand too close?" Ah, what a bad joke. He's at least kind enough to not make fun of you for your inability to make a joke, but instead, abruptly rappels in front of you. His face plate spins rapidly.
"We'd teach him a lesson. He he." You cross your arms and huff, picturing them trying to scare off the intruder. The best they can do is be a bit creepy.
"Sure, sure." You give him a push to send him spiraling back up into the rafters, a sort of spring in your step. He's so fun to talk to. "Maybe their A B C's?" Though if a robot got up in your face and made you start reciting the alphabet, you would probably be a little unnerved too. Being seven foot doesn't help either. He only hums in response.
The bells follow you down the stairs to the supply room, stopping just outside while you rummage. Some WD-40, more rags, anti-gunk stuff, and some of your heavy duty wrenches for the rusty parts. Good thing the lot of you managed to convince upper management to organize some of this, or you would be stuck here for -
A deafening clang makes you jump out of your skin, coming from somewhere in the back of the room. You press a hand to your rabbiting heart, taking deep breaths from the startle. Was that something expensive? You shoulder your bag to walk to the back, furrowing your brow at the lack of mess. There's nothing on the ground, no boxes on top of each other. Everything looks as it always does.
"Moon?" Maybe he's playing a prank? You wouldn't put it past him. "Hey, Sun's not going to be happy if you're trashing things." Though, it is a little fun to see the lights flicker in their optics while they argue. You've suggested to management to let them have color changing eyes rather than just 'on' for Sun and 'off' for Moon, but that gained no traction.
You walk around, careful not to raise your flashlight too high. Too much light in the optics makes his sensors go haywire, but it does mean you won't be able to see him coming. Its already strange enough that he hasn't jumped you yet.
"I'm going to leave now. Do your prank or hold your peace." You pause, standing still. Huh. Maybe something did actually fall, since nothing is grabbing you. But what could it -
The second clang makes your drop the flashlight. You snatch it up hastily and speed walk to the back, searching behind boxes and peering behind the shelves. Nothing.
This time, you're going to watch it. You step back to stand a safe distance away to glare at the shelves. Maybe a tool turned on inside one of the boxes? Far fetched, but what else could be so loud?
There it is again. You crouch to dig inside a lower box, around where you heard the noise. There's no power tools in here, though.
The clanging turns into thumping, right on the wall where you're squatting. You look up in shock - behind it is the loading bay! Some idiot must have gotten themselves stuck out there for at least a few hours, no wonder they're pounding on the wall. Strange they're not doing it on the door, but maybe they heard you?
"Ill come get you. Hang tight." You knock back on the wall, and scurry quick to the entrance. Poor guy must be totally panicking by now. You hope they haven't been stuck there all day, with nothing to drink or eat. Maybe it was one of the later delivery people.
"Moon!" You call up to the rafters, taking off down the hallway. No bells follow you, but he's probably there. "Someone's been stuck in the loading bay. Can you get a water bottle?" There's no response, but that's par for the course. He's not very chatty if he doesn't want to be.
You skid around corners and down the incredibly long hallway to the door, slamming the key card on your lanyard on the scanner. It opens terribly slowly, leaving you to shift from foot to foot.
Its pitch black. It shouldn't be, considering the lights never turn off in the loading bay. For safety reasons around the heavy machinery, or something.
"Hello? I'm the maintenance person on duty tonight. Are you hurt?" Strangely yet, no one is screaming for help, or making any noise at all. Its completely dead silent. A drop of fear worms its way through your stomach, what if they passed out? Or worse...
You can't think about that. "Is anyone here? Please call out if you are." You make your way over to the walls, slapping the light switch. Why is it off?
It sparks, and of course, does nothing. Great.
You tap your faz watch and bring up the radio, pressing the security button. "Vanessa? There's someone stuck in the loading bay, but they're not responding. The lights have shorted too." You wait.
The watch is silent. "Hello?" You tap at it, giving it a shake. "Security room? Hello?" Nothing. Your faz watch cheerily informs you that there's no signal to be had. Goddammit.
But you at least have to try. What if they're hurt? You take a breath and soldier on, heading to the area that's closest to the supply room. Your flashlight picks up nothing but a cleaning bot, pipes, and a giant pool of.
Of...what?
You stare at it. It's like something out of a horror movie, the red covering all the way up the wall and splattered on the floor. Your flashlight trails up to your shoes, stained in red from stepping in it. Your brain misfires, stuck in place. Where...where is the body?
Large hands cover your eyes. Clicking mechanics press close to your spine, what must be Moon's fan's on very high.
"Don't look." A hand holds your shoulder, pulling you backwards. You shuffle on steady steps. If there is one thing you hate and love about yourself, it's your complete inability to show panic. As such, when he pulls you out into the hallway, you stare up at him blank faced.
Strangely, Sun's rays are popped out, the sides extended as far as they can go. Yet, Moon's hat stays firmly in place, tinkling as is face plate ticks to the left. Who is this?
Two hands cradle your face, searching it. You stare back at him, sick to your stomach. Are they okay? Did they see who did it? The words are stuck in your throat.
"See? You're perfect." He presses his face plate to your forehead. "Just perfect. Humans make such awful noises when they see something they don't like. Oh, we thought for a moment you might scream, but look at you!" Thumbs caress your cheek, pushing you backwards. Your back meets the wall in a gentle thunk.
Your face feels sticky. "Oh! I'm Eclipse. Think of me as a security protocol!" He has the even cadence of Moon, with the silly tone of Sun. An eclipse of the sun..both..of them? He hovers over you, hand resting on your hip.
"Was it you?" You will your voice to tremble, scream, anything. You wish you could at least cry.
"Oh yes. They threatened to hurt people in this building. Do awful nasty things. I said if they keep going, they're going to learn a lesson. So I taught them one!" You look down on his chest plate, smeared with hand prints. The color is hard to tell in the low light, but you can hazard a guess. "And they got their filthy hands on me. Can you forgive me, dear? You can scrub away their touch so I'm yours again."
Stupidly, you nod your head. What would they do if you said no? Hurt you? Leave you in a pile somewhere for the police to find?
"The body. Where is it?" You ask if as if you're asking about their day, a massive frog clogging your throat.
"Don't worry about that! They won't be found. Oh, you're so dreamy." Arms wrap around your torso, hauling you up to sit in the cradle of his right arm. "Practical and smart. Silly that they haven't told you how much they adore you." He presses his face plate to your cheeks, then grabs your face to kiss you proper. This isn't how you wanted it.
"Yes, we'll keep you. Make you so happy! Yes, we're the only one that understands you." He separates and pokes you in your cheek, then on his own. "Your face is still, like ours."
You cling onto him, trembling on the inside.
You're theirs. For better or for worse. <3

The benefits of being a GameStop employee include subtly taking steelbook cases for games I have. I always swap the cases though. Feels wrong to leave the game caseless.

Tumblr media
- His worst spots are his stomach, hands, hips, and where his chin would be
- He makes a ticking noise that the others call squeaks
- Imagine Talking Ben’s laugh but more high pitched (and British)
- His first reaction to getting tickled is to grab the ler’s wrists
- Definitely got his shit abso-fucking-lutely W R E C K E D by Andy after his little “Care for an apple?” Thing
- He also gets wrecked by Felix and pretty much anyone if he’s being too uptight (or grumpy)
- His main lers are Melody and Felix
- Melody wrecked him for his fuckin “Perhaps you should learn to live a little!” Comment
- He tries keeping his laughter in at first by biting his lip or covering his mouth but once you hear lil “tick.. tick.. tick..” you already know he’s absolutely S T R U G G L I N G to keep it in
- Cannot take being teased for the life of him
Ex:
