Happy Yuri week!!! I will be mostly writing, just hadn't have the time to write lately, so, have some gemcleo

As the morning sun filtered in through the window of the Clockers tower, Gem stirred. She snuggled into the blankets, into the soft body next to her, and something niggled in the back of her sleep-addled brain as the strap of her overalls twisted annoyingly on her shoulder.

Something was off.

Namely the fact that she hadn’t gone to bed wearing her overalls. And she had gone to bed alone.

Her eyes shot open and she sat up, wide eyes falling on Cleo’s smirking face. Confusion clutched her for a moment before she could make words.

She’d been standing in for Cleo in this game, and in these worlds, ‘standing in’ meant being literally inside of her body. She’d gone to sleep as Cleo.

But if Cleo was back, Gem should be…

“What’s going on?” She touched her face to make sure she was herself, from her wild red curls down to her overalls, she was in her default body.

“I came back and you apparently were having too much fun to leave,” Cleo said, still chill, an arm behind her head on the pillow, her fiery hair splayed around her like a halo.

Gem shook her head, still trying to unfog and understand. She checked her communicator. She was on the players list, but her name was white. “There’s gotta be some kind of glitch.”

“Maybe,” Cleo agreed, still unmoving. “We can track down Grian when he’s up. I have a question for you, first.”

Something in her tone made Gem swallow, and she shifted nervously so she was sitting sideways on the bed. Even though she was sitting up and Cleo was laying down, their presence was unmistakably in charge.

“Uh huh?” Gem managed to ask.

Cleo lifted the top of the blanket, having a peek down at herself, and Gem flushed, because oh god she knew what this question was going to be and she didn’t have a good answer.

Hello!! Well, I'm currently in a fandom event (check out @treebarktitleswap here and on Ao3 for great Ren/Martyn fics) and planning for February's Yuri Week (also check out @mcyt-yuri-week for prompts if you're curious), so I've got a fair few wips tbh

I can't disclose my treebark fic wips bc they're all collaborative, but here's a snippet from one of my yuri week prompts!!

There they were.

Gem, the brightest star in the sky. The server's very own sun. Everything she touched seemed to glow in her care.

And then there was Cleo. Cold, dark, yet always full of mystery, never quite within reach. The moon.

The sun, with its blinding light, and the moon, with its captivating pull of gravity.

Pearl felt like the ocean around them. Reeled in by some invisible force, and always warm to the touch on the surface.

They were insufferable together.

Pearl didn't know how her heart hadn't stopped altogether yet.
