And even as we break up, knowing where this could take us I contemplate you dating irritating imitators. Do you still think about me when you wake up? Am I still the reason why you wear your make up?
Unanswered questions to one of my biggest lessons.
Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day. Welcome to the weekend!
On Wednesday, I got offered a piece of work and, yesterday, I got offered three pieces of work! One of which I had to turn down! I hate turning down work! The first one was two four-hour sessions over the next term (11 weeks): I can do that. The second one was two hours a week over the next term: I can do that. The third one was six hours a day all next week: I can’t do that.
I knew that the final quarter was going to be busy but I had no idea my poor, exhausted diary was going to be this saturated! I am definitely NOT complaining. Trust me: I love being busy! There’s this funny post I keep seeing on my Tumblr feed, it reads, “20 cool sites to visit when you’re bored.” When I’m bored? I literally can’t remember the last time I was bored. It might have been when I was about 11 or 12?
You know what? Something has to give! I am going to have to remove something from my life in order to fit this all in. I don’t need to worry about not walking in the park because rushing from here to there is going to be enough physical exercise. What should I give up? Helpful suggestions appreciated.
The London College Of Creative Media (LCCM) have asked me to host their Box Talks; interviews with leading music industry figures, filmed for content and streamed live on You Tube. Last month, we did DJ Semtex, which was brilliant! Last night, we did two major figures in the UK black music scene: artist managers/entrepreneurs Dumi Oburota and GfRSH. They were good value! Lots of great stories and lots of good advice for the students in the audience. Next month’s Box Talk is going to be very special! (Follow LCCM’s social feeds for more details!)
Look forward to the pleasure of your company Saturday at 1.00 pm for ‘The A-Z Of Mi-Soul Music’ (The Letter C Part Nine.)
Now, I know it’s a million years since you read your last book. Probably ‘The Cat In The Hat’ at school, right? But, if you’d like to get back into reading, check out my second novel ‘Whatever Makes Them Dance’ (available via Amazon.) A love story about a DJ. And, no, it’s not based on anyone I know!
