WHY RAGI IS USED IN DIET?

Ragi is loaded with calcium,iron and fiber.This is a stomach filling nutritious grain.Ragi can treat many disease. This is given as a first food for baby to improve their bone strength,heamoglobin quantity and so on.In ragi sweet puttu,addition of jaggery helps to increase furthermore iron content in this dish.

Overview of Ragi Sweet Puttu:

First take a bowl and mix ragi and rice flour. Next,sprinkle some water to this flour mixture and knead it. Steam this flour mixture along with coconut. After steaming,add sugar or palm sugar to make more delicious. You can also add banana to this and serve.

Ragi Puttu

2 cup Rice Flour1 cup Ragi Flour1 cup Grated Coconut1/2 cup Jaggery/Sugar First take a bowl and mix both rice flour and ragi flour equally. Secondly,add some water by sprinkling over it and knead the flour Just make sure that the flour is having small lumps here and there. Now take the rice cooker and apply ghee over the idli plates. Then place these puttu flour over the plates and then sprinkle coconut over each idli plates. Steam the idli plate for about 20 minutes to cook. After cooking it just remove it from plate and transfer to a bowl. Now add some more ghee,grated coconut over it. You can also add banana to it. Finally add sugar or palm sugar to the puttu and mix well. Atlast sweet ragi puttu is ready to taste.
