I’m ill and have many silly thoughts about these three pirates, so here’s headcanons for the main three in no particular order.  Also as a full disclaimer I’m only on like ep 16, though I have seen plenty of spoilers (and read plenty of fanfics), so if these are terribly wrong, feel absolutely free to yell at me jhksdfhjk

- in order of tallest to shortest its jay, gillion, then chip, and i absolutely have my reasons - gillion’s shorter then jay because i need him to be able to tuck his chin under jay when they hug because he deserves that - and chip is the shortest because i think it’s funny and i think he’d be really bitter about it

- chips got adhd and gillions got audhd - ive said those two before but i must repeat them bc they are very dear to me - gillions is obvious bc like,,, come on - but chip i really dont have reasoning for except i feel it in my neurodivergent bones

- theyre all trans - need i say more - chip is a trans man and jay is trans woman - and gillion is enby and collects xenogenders and neopronouns like a crow collecting shinies - like innitially gillion wouldnt know alot about gender bc hes an extremely sheltered child - but if he ever gets taught about gender he would collect so many like water themed xenos - this idea absoutely goes to tumblr user @spacedustmantis because their wisdom must be shared with the world

- gillion wags his tail when he’s happy - like he does it as a stim - HE ALSO PURRS - like im imagining him cuddling with chip and then all the sudden without gill even noticing he starts like kinda vibrating and at first chips really confused and hes like “bro what are you doing” - and then gillion immediately stops doing it and gets really insecure bc maybe its smth the elders would get mad at him for doing (this is an elders hate page, but also i like putting gillion through pain) - and then chips like wait no i didnt mean it like i bad thing i think its cute - sorry i have many fish n chips thoughts

- speaking of both trans chip and fish n chips - chip used to bind in the WORLDS MOST UNSAFE WAY - like so many bruises, tight as shit, he has them on for like days on end - and then when gillion finds out hes like super upset at human culture - cause hes like “wdym boobs matter?? wdym people would call you a woman if you had boobs???”  - like the concept of transphobia i feel like would be completely beyond him - once gillion and chip are close enough chip trusts gillion to see him without the bindings and gillion spends the night healing chips like lifelong bruises and probably a broken rib - no thoughts, just a hair brading line with ablatrio - chip at the back because his hair is too short for anything to be braided - then chip is braiding gillion’s hair because gay - and gillion is braiding jay’s hair because he thinks it’s really nice and silky - like i bet that girl takes such good care of her hair

these are all i have in my tiny brain for now, but i will absolutely be reblogged/editting this with more ideas whenever they come to me

do i really need to say anything. do i really.  ~ Autism he has,,,,,,, an issue with textures and social interaction and just yknow gives off those v i b es  ~ Autism He misses social cues, mostly black and white thinking, especially towards the beginning of the series, strong morals, has stated he doesn’t like/struggles with change, etc etc  ~ Autism HE CANONICALLY DOESN’T LIKE VELVET HE CANONICALLY HAS TEXTURE/SENSORY ISSUES. His whole arc with the oversea is so autism coded (with not understanding things everybody else around him thinks is common knowledge even if it’s never been explained to him before). But ALSO HE TOTALLY HAS INTRUSIVE/IMPULISVE THOUGHTS he canonically has ‘blasphemous’ type thoughts (wanting to steal lemons with his friends even if it’s against his oath), plus there’s NO WAY he doesn’t have violent type intrusive thoughts about hurting his loved ones NO WAY. plus his overall stubbornness of not letting go of his oath and general struggles with change is so so so autism coded of him.  ~ Autism and OCD Gillion is literally so autistic. He misses social cues and is easily deceived. He also hates lying and is overall a very honest guy! he repeats certain phrases like ‘it is my destiny!’ which are actually vocal stims cause i said so. Could all of this be explained by him not having a childhood and never learning anythning other than fight? yup! Am i saying all of this cause im like that? yeah! and im autistic :D also hes very cool and thats also a sign of autism  ~ Autism being put through years of (training) torture can cause anxiety especially at the young age he was ive also seen him just do random shit which gives off the idea that he’s not reliant on social cues, for example; jumping out windows, kissing a man (chip), or just going off to do his own thing which is a thing i do alot,,not kissing men,,,or jumping out winows yet but hes not reliant on social cues, he also ties his hair up, and i know he didnt do it in the first design but sometimes my sensory issues go away and come back randomly like a vacation for those bastards anyway another thing with the anxiety autism and anxiety are both very common together like autism and adhd! thats all i got but i can go way more in depth  ~ Autism and Anxiety Gillion fishman nuerospicy asf and I need ppl to share in my hc that he has ocd look at him. Dakota Cole  ~ Autism and ADHD Misses social cues, high sense of justice, pretty black and white morals, stims, struggles with change, special interest in superheroes, struggles to process his emotions, wears noise cancelling headphones, gets overstimulated, need I go on?  ~ Autism Tends to jump into things without thinking, pretty short attention span especially with stuff he doesn’t like, very AuDHD vibes ~ ADHD Come on, now. Be honest with yourself. ~ Autism and ADHD LOOK AT THAT CREATURE OF A MAN. Sensitive to loud noise/generally gets overwhelmed at chaotic situations, cannot fucking keep a thought straight, uiwrehfgpiouwygehfiu LOOK AT HIM. He’s my little chaos boy and he needs to be kept safe and cozy please. dont let him down. protecc. win.  ~ Autism and ADHD Grizzly has stated both in PD episodes and in the rolled that Dakota does not know how to process complex emotions. Like, at all. He is also constantly flirting from one idea to the next in a way that is common in ADHD. I would like to spin him around in a microwave  ~ Autism and ADHD I like them a lot :333  ~ Autism and OCD super hero hyperfixation, canonically has sensory issues, tendency to have black and white morality (and also sticks to that moral code strictly). also you can argue that when he went feral due to overstimulation, that was just a meltdown that got supercharged by his heart.  ~ Autism Dakota has repeatedly had trouble/stated that he can’t read. While this could be to the vision loss that he needs glasses for in season two, it could just as easily be attributed to dyslexia  ~ Dyslexia

heard you had some thoughts you wanted to share on GILLION TIDESTRIDER, CHAMPION OF THE UNDERSEAS- 👀?

HERO OF THE DEEP!! its true its true, he makes me a little bit wild, I've been rewatching some of the earlier episodes and I just. god. I think about him so much, hes so autism to me. I already made the other post about the autism experience of realizing you've been the butt of the joke, but like the fact that its canon that he liked visiting loffinlot because he felt like he could finally read the tone there because everyone was laughing, only to have that like ripped away from him upon finding out its a curse and stuff, and jay and chip just like not quite understanding that. ow. to me chip has adhd and gill has autism or both autism and adhd and they just like dont super get eachother, and they dont communicate the best because of that like conflicting mental illnesses over here, idk they just. ough. like chip obviously doesnt mean to hurt gill with his 'jokes,' and as the audience we are intended to find them funny, and we do, because we have like everyones perspectives, but god in hindsight does it make me just kinda sad. gill doesnt deserve that. for the first time in his life hes been like allowed to express anger without real fear of punishment, but also he like doesnt have the, for lack of better term, friendship degradation mechanic in his brain, like a lot of adhd and autism people dont, and so like the idea that his fight with chip could have long term repercussions on their friendship doesnt quite register and so he tries to go back to things being like normal after they fight, and obviously chip isnt having that, and I just aaaaaa owwwww I just think about how even now gillion is still trying to find his place in the world and everything because of the prophecy, especially because of [info redacted so as not to be spoilers] in recent episodes and im grrgagrghajghgerghgh foaming at the mouth this poor guy. hes doing his damn best over here and he's gonna keep at it 'til it kills him. also?? the fact that gill did not/does not have the fucking hp to be a tank and still plays it anyway?? oh my goddddd. self sacrificial fish man. hes so. like there was a point when jay had more hp than him and he continued to be a tank, how much do you have to practice, to train, to be walking around under 10hp and pretending its normal and doing it so well your friends cant even notice. I do wonder sometimes how much even now that jay and chip like understand gill, because chip is in his own head a lot, and jay Is very focused on like circumstances I feel like, and so im like aaaaaa just like do they understand gill do they understand how he thinks even now? do they get it? im not certain they do but they try to be there for him anyway, but sometimes they do, and theyre all just doing the best they can and aaaaa im so. im so . guys. also Charlie and condi only recently like re-realizing that chip is 19 because of [redacted recent events]???? im so. im so . guys oh my goddddd. but yeah back to gill I just. slaps this fish this bad boy can fit so much autism in him. he gets it. Charlie slimecicle king of making autistic characters. god gillion makes me so sad and emotional all the time
