⭐ Long Post⭐ In the next series of photos and videos I'll go over how to attach the doll's hair using the sew-and-glue on method. I like to choose a yarn that will compliment the size of the doll - if it's a smaller doll, I tend to look for finer weight yarns, while for larger dolls I look for thicker ones. Once you've decided on the type of yarn you're going to use, you'll want to think about how long you'd like your doll's hair to be. There are a couple of different ways you can do this - one way is to lay your doll on a flat surface and drape a strand of yarn around her head, bringing it down on either side of the body. Cut it off at the desired length and use that strand as a guide to cut more strands till you have the desired thickness you'd like. The other method is done by wrapping the yarn around a book, DVD cover, shoe box lid or tissue box to create a bundle of yarn. (Second photo) The size of the item you choose to use will determine the length of the doll's hair, so keep that in mind. Once you've chosen what you'll use, wrap your yarn around until you feel that it's thick enough for your doll. *You can always add more later if you find that the hair is looking too thin, or remove some of it's too thick. Carefully slide the yarn off the box/book/lid, making sure to keep the ends even. Tie the center of the bundle with a piece of yarn in a contrasting colour, but don't knot it (I like it do a double loop around as it's a bit more secure). (Third photo) Cut the loops on either side of the bundle so that the yarn strands are even on both ends. (Last photo) You're now ready to begin attaching the bundle onto the doll's head.
