The duality of “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” is one of the single most grating songs I’ve ever heard and I would pay good money to never hear it again and Hippos are some of my favorite animals so friends and relatives won’t stop tagging me in FB posts blaring the song

#I appreciate the sentiment aunt violet! however #I don’t wanna see a children’s music class singing the song while a grown-ass adult in a cartoon hippo costume bounces around behind them!#I wanna see santa visiting fiona and her bloat and feeding them lettuce! I wanna see baby omo crunching on a watermelon!#give me hippos wITHOUT THE ASSOCIATION 😭#peaches screams into the void
