Week 12: Scandal !
Now, when I went into the choir room this morning to post our nominations for glee club captain...I was met with something that disturbed me, kids. A “Whos Hot/Who’s Not” list of all of the kids in the New Directions. It’s got a Top 10 Hots and a Top 10....well, Nots. If you must see it, it’s here:

Tearing each other down is not something I’m going to tolerate in this club. We’re a team. And to the person that made this, Figgins wants you suspended and I’m expected to turn someone in by the end of the week. Now, all of you that have been nominated for captain (Raphael Berry, Finn Hudson, Sugar Motta, and Blaine Anderson) are gonna need to show some leadership skills in finding out who made this list -- welcome to politics. Polls will be open on Friday. Til then, our theme this week is Scandal. Anything salacious, reputation-related, etc. since you all seem to want to pit people against each other. I’m extremely disappointed, kids. We are not going to get to Regionals divided like this.

Is this still active?
As of right now, no, it’s not. I had a busier couple weeks than I was expecting, and as a result wasn’t able to be on the dash as much as I would have liked to, which caused a lull in the movement of the dash until it ended up being a complete stop. There is a possibility of the group being revamped and reopened in the future, but as of right now, I think it’s safe to say that we’re closed for the time being. In general, it’s not exactly a thriving time for the GRPC, what with people only having just recently started going back to school, so maybe in a few months we’ll try again.

Week 11: Tiktok !
Alright guys, we’re coming right off of an amazing Sectionals win, I’m newly single, we deserve some fun am I right?! That’s why this week our assignment is all about letting loose and having fun. We’re doing....*drumroll* Tiktok songs! Any song popularized on the social media platform is fair game, and even film some TikToks for the fun of it! It’s also helpful because I got our score card back from Sectionals and, though we may have won, our lowest scores were in choreography...So we’ll be spending the week learning TikTok dances, too! I’ll be teaching Savage, Say So, the WAP...you name it! Can’t wait to see what you guys bring to the table in our first week back from winning our first-ever competition, posted under the tag week 011: TikTok ! Maybe we’ll get to use some of our new moves at Regionals!

Coming off of our Sectionals win, the New Directions’ mission this week was to let loose, have fun, and work on our choreo! And we did that and then some. Firstly, we welcomed a new face to the glee club, Jessie St. James and she seems like she doesn’t have any ulterior motives at all! Though, she might have history with one of our glee club members. Hmmm... Quinn told her parents about the baby and now she’s been kicked out and is living with Puck. Yikes. And the glee club has kind of turned against Raph after he outed Quinn’s baby daddy drama to Finn. Will that mean he’s no longer a shoe-in for glee club captain? Time will tell! The New Directions showed off their new dance moves with Say So by Doja Cat, with Raphael, Jessie, and Quinn as featured soloists, with Santana taking on the rap!
And that’s what you missed on...GLEEDORPG!

So for their first week, the New Directions did ‘First Impression’ songs where they got to know each other! They had a lot of fun with it, giving fun flirtations like Puck to Lauren, lighthearted rejections like Lauren to Puck, and even playful draggings of each other’s personalities like Jesse to Myron. Talk about some first-week bonding! It was fun to watch, even if outside of the choir room things got a little dicey -- Coach Sylvester has apparently been wreaking havoc on our glee club...Fat-shaming and Cheerio bullying alike. Good thing her captain has a spotless record, right? Wrong. Quinn’s pregnant and Finn is obviously not the father. Y i k e s.
Everything culminated in our group number, Nice to Meet Ya by Niall Horan with featured soloists Sam Evans, Blaine Anderson, and Tina Cohen-Chang.
And that’s what you missed on....GLEEDORPG!

This week, the glee club tackled some teen angst by performing songs from all their favorite teen movies! We had performances of songs from Easy A, Twilight, 13 Going on 30, Juno and many more! And can I just say we really tapped into our -- er, your complicated and vulnerable teenage emotions? I am so proud of all of you! We stripped things down for our group number this week, teen movie anthem, Kiss Me by Sixpence None the Richer with Tina Cohen-Chang, Kit Hummel, Raphael Berry and Finn Hudson on lead vocals.
And that’s what you missed on...GLEEDORPG!

Lots went down this week, New Directions! First, after I, Mr. Schuester, themed our glee club week ‘Secrets’ week, everyone revealed some juicy secrets! Some childhood traumas, some intimacy issues, some secrets about...magic cats. And all of Quinn’s pregnancy drama came crashing down cause Raphael took it upon himself to reveal her secret to Finn, resulting in Finn singing a truly NSFS (not safe for school) song about her best friend right before pummeling him to the ground in the choir room! Yikes! After all that, Quinn and Puck decided to tell her parents together and we’ll only see what can come of that. Since he stirred up all the mess, the glee club seems to be turning against Raph who also seems to be campaigning for captain of the New Directions! We’ll see how that pans out. Word is there’s a new girl in McKinley, and she’s got her eye on the New Directions. But what would the lead singer of Vocal Adrenaline want with us anyway? Is she here for the right reasons? Time can only tell.
And that’s what you missed on...GLEEDORPG!

Sectionals Recap !
Alright, New Directions, today we went up against Jane Addams High and the Haverbrook Deaf Choir in our snazzy competition outfits. Since our first choice of Don’t Stop Believin’ was snatched by one of the opposing teams, we last-minute had to come up with a whole new setlist and this is what we competed with:
Finn Hudson and Raphael Berry sang lead on our opening, a beautiful arrangement of Florence + the Machine’s Cosmic Love.
Blaine Anderson tore down the house with his solo, Falling by Harry Styles.
And the entire group closed us out with MIKA’s We Are Golden, with featured solos from everyone! (But primarily our Berry/Hudson duo, as expected.)
Our performance was riveting, vocally impressive, full of energy and heart...it really brought a tear to my eye.
And we placed...1st!
Congratulations, New Directions! I’m so proud of you! Next stop, Regionals!

day of silence.
Hi, all. We’ve decided that the gleedorpg dashboard will be going dark for 24 hours, starting at 6am PST today in honor of Naya Rivera. We’ll be taking this time to mourn, reflect on her talent that made Glee what it was, and let our members just breathe in the midst of such a heightened time in the world as it is already without the added pressures of being on the dash. Regular activity will resume tomorrow at 6am PST, and if anyone (members, lurkers, etc.) needs to reach out and chat, you know where to find us. ❤︎
love, the admin team. ❤︎

I’m not gonna lie, kids. I’ve been pretty preoccupied. Say congratulations to Ms Pillsbury on her engagement to Coach Tanaka! I’ve been helping her out with her dance moves, so I’ve been a little removed emotionally from glee club, and I’m sorry for that. Your Broadway assignments have been excellent so far, but I’d love to continue this assignment into the next week! Our group number this week is an abridged version of Raise You Up/Just Be from Kinky Boots with Raphael Berry, Kait Hummel, Josie St. James, and Blaine Anderson as our soloists. Let’s keep up the Broadway this week, guys!

Okay, so Mr. Schuester woke up in the middle of the night with one thing on his mind -- New Directions. McKinley’s glee club needed a coach, and he decided to step into that role! Sign-up sheet went up on the first day of school and got a bunch of names on the list, including Raphael Berry and Finn Hudson who had a friendship over the summer that made Finn’s girlfriend, Quinn, jealous. But what Finn doesn’t know is that Quinn got so mad that she hooked up with her best friend Puck at a party over the summer, too! Yikes! And now she’s been feeling weird and nauseous and hungry all the time, wonder what that’s about.
Everyone got ready for auditions, including Michaela Chang and summer camp bestie Tina Cohen-Chang, a Cheerio and an overachiever -- how star-crossed! Speaking of Cheerios, we’ve got Cheerios fundraising for candy necklaces like Brittany, or being generally unpleasant like Kent! Hope he’s doing alright, he seems like he’s got some misplaced anger. Auditions were on Friday and everyone came and killed it, forming our now New Directions!
The group number this week was: Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey, with Finn and Raphael on lead vocals. Stay tuned for this week’s glee club assignment tomorrow!

Week 3: Nostalgia !!
So we’ve introduced ourselves and each other, we’ve figured out our niche....Now it’s time to go back to what made us who we are! Our childhoods! This week, I challenge you all to find some nostalgic songs from your pasts -- could even be a song written before you were born, just as long as it’s something that was once special to you. What parts of your past make you the most nostalgic and why? I can’t wait to hear some early ‘00s or 2010s hits or oldies that your parents used to play, and I especially can’t wait to hear all of your stories. We’ll be posting them in the tag week 003: nostalgia !! We’re gettin’ personal this week, New Directions! And maybe we’ll use one of these numbers at Sectionals so let’s go all in !!

weekly gLeecap !
So this week the New Directions tackled Scandals since last Monday morning, we were smacked in the face with a Glist (that’s a glee list) of Hots and Nots and the whole club was sent into a frenzy over who made it and why! Some were happy to be on the Hot side, some were disappointed to be on the Not side, and when it all came down to it, it turns out Kitty was the mastermind! Now, in addition to the Glist, we had four candidates running for glee club captain and after a week of campaigning, we have the results! In an unexpected twist, there was a three-way tie. Our New Directions co-captains are....*drumroll*
Blaine Anderson & Raphael Berry! They will be responsible for organizing group numbers and helping choose songs for competitions.
And Sugar Motta will be given the position of manager. She will be responsible for glee club promo (including social media), and setting up performances outside of competitions such as pep rallies, assemblies, and local charities.
This was such a busy week! There was also a party this weekend, but details are still coming in. I hope you all acted responsibly.. 👀 The group number for Scandal week was Mr. Brightside by The Killers with Finn Hudson, Noah Puckerman, Lauren Zizes, and Jake Puckerman as soloists.
And that’s what you missed on...GLEEDORPG!

Plot Drop !
It’s come to my attention that some of you are interested in having a captain for the glee club. While part of me is concerned about the divisiveness of that decision, I also think it’d be great for our team to have someone to look to when things get tough. So if you’d like to nominate yourself or someone else as the captain of New Directions, let me know here and next week we’ll vote!

So we’re opening for interactions tomorrow !! Things to know:
It is the first day of school! The glee club sign-up sheet will be posted on the main billboard, and I’m hoping to see every one of your shining signatures!
Auditions will be held on Friday. This gives you plenty of time to prepare an audition song. (Official post for that to come.)
Anyone added after this week will be joining glee club as they arrive, regardless of canon. So if we don’t get an Artie for two weeks from now, he will have joined glee two weeks after everyone else, etc.
We have two starter tags. I am still heavily attached to gif chats, so we have a tag for that which is: gleedostarter. I’m going to go ahead and tag this post as a starter to mark the beginning of the tag since there's one old post in the tag not affiliated with us, and we don’t want any confusion. Our other starter tag, for open in-person interactions is: gleedoopen.
I, Mr. Schuester, am here for all your glee club question-answering needs, and so is Ms. Pillsbury !! Can’t wait to get started with you all.

Week 10: Secrets & Sectionals !
New Directions, I’m diving more into glee club this week because I found out some troubling news about my marriage: My wife Terri has been faking her pregnancy, so now she’s staying at her sister’s and I’m not sure what to do besides give my all to you guys and Sectionals. But I think we can all learn something from my personal life this week. Our theme this week? Secrets. We’re going into Sectionals with clean consciences, New Directions. This week I’m encouraging all of you to share a secret with the glee club through song. You have complete power to abstain from the assignment, of course, and just focus on sectionals but...it’s something to think about.
Sectionals is this Friday, September 4th and we’re gonna bring it! Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be dismantling the nursery my wife and I built together as well as my marriage.
