The Growth Demand Of Cosplay In The Next Years
Tumblr media
Costume play or cosplay is the art of portraying characters either from animé, games, manga, science fiction, or animation, and wearing costumes specific to what that character wears in the series, film, or video games. It has transformed from a niche hobby to a thriving global industry. As cosplay continues to captivate imaginations and blur the lines between fantasy and reality, it becomes increasingly important to understand its cultural significance and anticipate its trajectory in the years to come.
So when people dress up as their favorite fictional characters, it’s not just for Halloween anymore. Cosplaying has become a global phenomenon that has taken the world by storm. Though it may seem like a recent trend for anyone, cosplay has a rich history that dates back several decades.
The origins of cosplay can be traced back to the early 20th century when fans of science fiction and fantasy literature began to dress up as characters from their favorite books. However, it was the rise of Japanese pop culture in the 1970s, particularly anime and manga, that gave cosplay its contemporary form. Fans started attending conventions and events dressed as their beloved characters, and the rest is history.
Hang tight, for today we’ll explore its growth for the next few years and look at things to consider as it progresses.
Factors driving the growth of cosplay
Influence of popular culture and media
he growth of the cosplay industry can largely be attributed to the influence of popular culture and media. With the rise of blockbuster movies, TV series, and video games, more and more people are being exposed to a diverse range of characters worth cosplaying. Fans are inspired to recreate the looks of their favorite heroes, villains, and everything in between. You can visit cosplay.com to get a gist of how large this community is, from different countries, races, religions, and sex, all packed there.
Cosplay as a form of self-expression
In a world where individuality is celebrated, cosplay provides a unique platform for self-expression. It allows people to step into the shoes of someone else, someone they admire or relate to on a deep level. Cosplay enthusiasts often find solace in being able to embody characters that reflect their personalities, aspirations, and even struggles.
Community and social aspects of cosplay
Cosplay is not just about the costumes; it’s also about the community. The cosplay community is a tight-knit group that shares a common passion, and it is this sense of camaraderie that drives the growth of cosplay. Whether it’s attending conventions, participating in cosplay contests, or simply connecting with fellow enthusiasts online, being part of the cosplay community offers a support system and a sense of belonging.
Emerging trends in the cosplay community
Crossplay and gender-bending cosplay
Crossplay and gender-bending cosplay have been gaining popularity in recent years. Crossplay involves cosplaying characters of a different gender, allowing individuals to challenge traditional gender stereotypes and embrace their creativity. This trend has opened up new avenues for self-expression within the cosplay community.
Mash-up and crossover cosplays
Mash-up and crossover cosplays are another emerging trend that blends different characters or universes together. It’s a way for cosplayers to showcase their ingenuity and create unique and eye-catching costumes. From blending superheroes with steampunk aesthetics to combining different fandoms, the possibilities are endless.
Cosplay competitions and conventions
Cosplay competitions and conventions continue to be a driving force in the growth of the cosplay industry. These events provide a platform for cosplayers to showcase their skills, creativity, and dedication. With the level of talent and craftsmanship on display, it’s no wonder that cosplay competitions have become highly anticipated spectacles.
The impact of social media on the popularity of cosplay
Rise of cosplay influencers and online communities
Social media has played a crucial role in catapulting cosplay into the mainstream. Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube have given rise to a new breed of cosplay influencers who amass thousands, if not millions, of followers. These influencers inspire and educate aspiring cosplayers, fostering a sense of community and encouraging the growth of the cosplay industry.
Cosplay photography and visual storytelling
High-quality cameras and editing tools made cosplay photography an art form in itself. Talented photographers capture the essence and craftsmanship of cosplays, creating stunning visual narratives. The popularity of cosplay photography on social media platforms further amplifies the growth and reach of the cosplay community.
Cosplay tutorials and DIY culture
The accessibility of online tutorials and the DIY (do-it-yourself) culture has also contributed to the popularity of cosplay. Cosplayers can now easily find step-by-step guides on crafting costumes and accessories, making cosplay more approachable for beginners. The DIY aspect of cosplay not only encourages creativity but also fosters a sense of accomplishment and pride in one’s work.
In conclusion, the growth of the cosplay industry can be attributed to various factors, including the influence of popular culture, the significance of self-expression, the sense of community, and the impact of social media. As cosplay continues to evolve and flourish, it promises to bring joy, creativity, and a touch of fantasy to people’s lives for years to come.
Predictions for Cosplay Industry Expansion
The future of cosplay looks incredibly promising. As geek culture continues to permeate mainstream media and entertainment, the demand for cosplay is set to skyrocket. We can expect more conventions, events, and gatherings dedicated to cosplay, attracting larger audiences and fostering a sense of community. Additionally, the rise of social media and online platforms will provide even greater visibility for cosplayers, further fueling the growth of this vibrant industry.
Factors Influencing Future Cosplay Trends
The trends in the cosplay world are constantly evolving, and influenced by various factors. Pop culture phenomena, such as the release of highly anticipated movies or TV shows, can have a significant impact on cosplayers’ choices. The increased diversity in characters across different media is also shaping cosplay trends, encouraging cosplayers to explore a wider range of options. Technological advancements, like virtual reality and augmented reality, may also introduce new dimensions to the cosplay experience, allowing enthusiasts to immerse themselves even deeper in their favorite fictional universes.
Conclusion: The bright future of cosplay
The growth and demand for cosplay in the next years are unprecedented. Inclusivity and representation will continue to be crucial in shaping the cosplay community into a welcoming space for all. In addition, the economic potential of the cosplay market is undeniable, providing numerous opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs and creative professionals.
As the cosplay industry expands, we can predict a future of thriving conventions, a diverse range of characters, and exciting technological innovations. Advanced materials, electronics, and 3D printing techniques will take cosplay to new heights, allowing cosplayers to bring their favorite characters to life with even more authenticity. The bright future of cosplay is filled with endless possibilities and creative expression. So grab your sewing kit and imagination, because the world of cosplay is ready to welcome you with open arms!

Cosplay: an introduction to cosplaying
Cosplaying, short for costume play, is a popular subculture that involves dressing up as characters from various media such as anime, manga, video games, comics, movies, and TV shows. It has become a global phenomenon with conventions, events, and online communities dedicated to it. In this blog, we will explore the world of cosplaying, its history, and why people love it.
The Origins of Cosplaying & Why Do People Cosplay
The origins of cosplay can be traced back to the 1930s when science fiction fans started dressing up as their favorite characters at conventions. In the 1970s, cosplay became more mainstream in Japan, where it evolved into the intricate and elaborate costumes we see today. Cosplay has since spread to other countries, becoming a global phenomenon with fans of all ages and backgrounds.
People cosplay for a variety of reasons. For some, it’s a way to express their creativity and passion for a particular character or fandom. For others, it’s a way to escape reality and become someone else for a while. Many cosplayers enjoy the challenge of creating their costumes and props from scratch, using materials such as foam, fabric, and thermoplastics. Cosplaying can also be a way to connect with like-minded people, and many cosplayers have formed lasting friendships through the hobby.
How to Get Started in Cosplaying
If you’re interested in cosplaying, there are a few things you’ll need to get started. First, you’ll need to choose a character you want to cosplay as. This could be anyone from your favorite anime or video game character to a superhero or villain from a movie. Once you have a character in mind, you’ll need to research their costume and props. Next, you’ll need to decide whether you want to make your own costume or buy one. Making your own costume can be a fun and rewarding experience, but it can also be time-consuming, and sometimes hard or expensive. If you’re new to cosplaying, it might be easier to start with a pre-made costume. On social networks like Facebook, there are cosplay groups. You might find a community there with people who share your interests, and who could provide advice. Finally, you will need to find a cosplay event or convention to attend. These events are a great way to meet other cosplayers, show off your costume, and participate in activities like cosplay contests and photo shoots.
Tips for Cosplaying
Here are a few tips to keep in mind when cosplaying:
Make sure your costume is comfortable and fits well.
Practice posing and acting like your character before the event.
Be respectful of other cosplayers and their costumes.
Be respectful of the location of the event or meetup, and also the people there.
Consider bringing extra supplies such as glue, tape, and safety pins in case of any last-minute mishaps.
Have fun and enjoy the experience!
Cosplaying is a fun and creative hobby that allows people to express their passion for their favorite characters and fandoms. Whether you’re a seasoned cosplayer or just starting out, there’s always something new to learn and discover in the world of cosplay. So, grab your costume and get ready to have some fun!

Swamp Con
I went to swampcon on Sunday afternoon. I am not the biggest anime/manga/cosplay fan so this type of event really isn't for me, but I did enjoy going and see people enjoying themselves and having a place to express themselves and come together to share their passion for the art. I went by myself and I was a little worried going into it, not knowing much about anime, not dressed the part, and not going for any particular reason other than I have to write this blog post about it. But despite my worries, I had an amazing time. I met so many kind people that taught me tons about the anime/manga/cosplay communities and about different events going on.
If anything, my favorite part was talking to the people there. I've never been to a convention like this and it totally changed my perspective on the fandom/cosplay community. I loved seeing people act as their favorite characters and see some really interesting costumes. This also showed me the diversity that exists within the anime community. This class has taught me the extreme variation of genres that exist within the anime world, and how it is has evolved over time. I liked to see this applied in the real world at the convention, seeing what modern youth culture has geared towards, at least at UF. While it was a much smaller convention, it almost felt like being in Genshiken(Our class is basically just the club of anime fans and we all had to go to this convention I thought that was a funny parallel). This convention made me interested to see what a larger convention may look like and maybe I'll attend one in the future.
One of my favorite parts of the convention was the costume contest. I felt like it really showed some of the most passionate cosplayers and I liked seeing the artistic styles. I know how intensely and some people take this stuff and I give them so much credit. I love the whole concept of cosplay. People dedicate so much time and effort to recreate their favorite character, down to the smallest accessories. It's so cool to see it all be brought to life. Especially with the whole natural/clean girl makeup trend going on and fashion being geared towards mostly basics and neutrals, I like to see the extreme, intense makeup, hair, and outfits that exist within the cosplay world. I feel like no where else, besides in drag, is it acceptable to exaggerate features, and many bright hair colors, and custom, unique outfits in the way that is normalized in cosplay. The other thing about cosplay is it allows people to get out of their shells and through acting like their favorite characters, maybe gain some confidence in community. I feel like opportunities like this are great for introverted people, as well as those who may be insecure or lack social skills. Acting like another person all together can dangerous when taken too extreme, but can also be used as a healthy way to connect with others that share interests, and get out in the world in a way that may not be accessible otherwise.
I'm very grateful to have gotten into this class. It has not only taught me a lot about the anime world and connects it makes to larger global issues, but has taught me so much about the community that exists as a byproduct of anime and manga. I feel like in American culture, anime and manga fits a niche that otherwise lacks community. As seen by the amount of comp sci majors in our class, computery people that like video games, anime, manga, and cosplay should be able to congregate and have the community and spaces that people of other interests have. That is why I was pleased to see UF hosting an anime convention. I never would have even heard of it if it wasn't for this class.

July Favorites 2021!
------------------------------------------
GREETINGS
------------------------------------------
August 5. 2021
Holy crap, it’s august already and at the end of the month I start my animal training, ugh....I hate school, thought graduating with a degree was the end but here it goes again. I really have not been in any sort of mood to do painting or clay since last month and I feel like it’s because this month I have a lot of things to do and prepare for the program that it’s been stressing me out.
Also got my 2nd covid vaccination on july 24th .so that’s good and over with. I hope most of you are able to get your shots soon! This month I only chose again 2 manhwas to talk about since I’ve been dialing it down on what to read other than the ones that are still ongoing. I also made a chart at the bottom and organized the ongoing manga from the completed ones since it that list was getting long and everything was not really organized well. It’s also a good way from me to track the ones that I need to update.
Last month I talked about how I disliked how authors play the “I’m a sh*tty protagonist/antagonist but here is my sad back story to win you over” card and I found a meme randomly on instagram that describes my feelings in one picture. I honestly really hate it, do they honestly think that I’ll come to a realization that they are a good person by showing me they have a change of heart? I’m like...it still doesn’t justify the crap they have done up until this point.
Tumblr media
Anyways, hope you enjoy this month’s updates.

No dramas, but I have been re-watching Produce x101 lol. Because I miss my boys, just seeing how they started and where they are now is really nostalgic, although my interest in K-pop music is very limited right now as I’m not in that phase, I still really liked their songs from the series and have been listening to it again. Because of that Mnet production scandal, the group formed called X1 only debuted for a short while before having to disband. I really hope they will be able to get back together again one of these days since it was never any of the contestants fault as to whatever happened in the production side of things but people needed to put the blame on some one.
If you have not heard of this show, they are a survival k-pop show in which trainees from different companies compete for a spot in a global idol group, if you have heard of izone, wanna one and I.O.I they are all from this show. Please check out produce x 101 you will honestly like a lot of these trainees, this season was my favorite one by far.

Updates on ongoing titles:
Social temperature:
I don’t remember what i updated about this last time, but I remember saying that they have made it to the part of the novel where sh*t hits the fan and song yuan and xiao mu’s relationship went downhill. I was wondering how they were going to portray this in the manhua since I’ve read the novel. But that hotel scene where they met up and basically confessed they were into each other was done really well, the artist/ creator did a really good job making that scene romantic, only to have what follows after bitter sweet. When I read this part in the novel xiao mu was a little extreme, he scrubbed himself really hard in the shower till he was bruised, in the manhua it was a little less extreme than what I pictured. I guess that’s the difference between reading just words and having to imagine your own scenarios than to have something already drawn out before you. So their relationship after “ Andrew”  was exposed as a fake identity took a toll on their relationship and song yuan kept persisting to talk to him, his character also some development, he was no longer the cold person he was, instead he was really awkward and sweet in his pursuit to be acknowledged by xiao mu. The latest chapter shows how his efforts to get closer to xiao mu was more or less successful, xiao mu is beginning to express his feelings a little more, so i can’t wait to see how this goes, not going to lie, the rest of the novel became blurry at this point so i don’t remember what happens next.lol.
Pearl boy:
Tumblr media
OOOOOOOH...BOY....this update is like watching a nuclear blast happen in front of you.
So as I’ve indicated in last month’s favorites pearl boy will come back on July 24th and it came back with a vengeance, it was apparently trending on twitter and I was being stabbed by a needle for my second covid shot and honestly if my arm wasn’t so weak I would have punched my screen monitor for what I was about to witness. I feel like if my eyes and ears can vomit, they would be doing that as I read the chapter...omg I have never been so enraged and sad at the same time. I probably needed to bleach my eyes about a hundred times for what I just read, but the ending of that chapter...my boys did good, they fought for their lives and I was so proud of them.
Of course this weeks’ chapter that followed was no better it was depressing as hell, anyone who has had suicidal thoughts may want to steer clear, as it may be a little triggering. I don’t know what it is but season 1 of pearl boy went from normal to banana fish , season 2 starts from banana fish and goes right into metamorphosis....( if you’ve read these you’ll know what I’m saying..)
I’m like ...holy crap what is happening? which is why I’m saying that you should not read pearl boy if you are under the age restriction, I know some of you are faking it, but fair warning...it is adult material, young adults will not understand the serious situations involved in this manhwa and it really shows some times when you read those comments and people are just saying really dumb things. I’m like please lezhin, change your age limit to 21 + this is not something teenagers understand. Putting that aside, I bet all the pilwon simps are slitting their throats from even liking this character, ya’ll need to be slapped seriously, he is disgusting and there are actual people like him in this world, just so you guys are aware.
Well now that that is off my chest, let’s talk about some good things I found great in this update, which are the parallels, there were these panels that showed juha’s life before meeting dooshik and how it was dark in contrast to having dooshik beside him and how the panels were light, using the concept of light and darkness is a very kingdom hearts thing to do and I appreciated that. Also the creator really likes to use symbolism in all of her art so it is really interesting to see how she wants to portray a certain scene. It only made it more devastating when juha believes that dooshik left him, which of course was false, bloody and broken he fought his way back to juha. Can we just talk about dooshik? You just raised the bar for every manhwa male out there, my boy is a survivor! That last scene was great, there’s nothing more gratifying than having a character that you admire and everyone also agrees is a badass. There are some characters in manhwa where I personally think they suck but others love them for some strange reason. You guys need to read it when it comes out in English, I just read the raws but I’d read it again in English to understand it better. Okay...so let’s see where the pits of hell will take us in the upcoming releases...I’m so not ready for this...
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to Heaven (21+)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the wholesome stories of manga/webtoons, these stories are focused mainly on building relationships between the main protagonist and hopefully with minimal drama involved and a lot of life lessons being discussed and expressed throughout their journey.
Warning some of these stories have mature themes so please be over the age of 21 if you do decide to read them!
Kings Maker:
Tumblr media
“Wolfgang Goldenleonard, the 4th Prince of the kingdom, returns to the palace after years of living in hiding. He rejects everything about his new royal life but is intrigued by the mysterious and dutiful Shin Soohyuk, a catamite of the King. As Wolfgang slowly opens up and learns the ways of the palace, Soohyuk begins to see something special about the wild, unkempt, and stubborn young prince. He might just be the one Soohyuk has been waiting for... the one who could light the flame of rebellion.”
Just by reading the summary you would not think this story is shounen ai right? It sounds a lot like a shounen manga plot line. This whole story could honestly be an adapted into an anime and no one would even know that it was labeled BL. If you are not sure whether or not to read BL or if you are just testing the waters with this genre, I highly recommend this series. The well written story is what matters here not the fact that it’s about two men...and I appreciate that. I’ve mentioned before that I didn’t like the having BL shoved into my face as something satirical, most Japanese manga like to do so and that’s why people can’t read these and take it seriously. But a well written story no matter the genre is able to grab you with it’s plot line not theme.
The story starts off with wolfgang a boy with blonde hair and golden eyes living in the slums after his mother had died and told him to escape the palace. Wolfgang grew up on survival tactics and banded with a bunch of children that steal form wealthy folks. One day the king of their respected country handed out a message to the commoners saying that was looking for his son who had vanished years ago, he was the 4th prince and had golden hair and was by the name wolf gang. Many children at this time had vanished after making claims that they had that name. The real wolf gang saved one of his friends from being taken away because of the name wolfgang. They went inside a cart the soldiers had with them and found all the dead children’s bodies piled up inside. Realizing that anyone who made the claim to be the fourth prince and was found out not to be the real one would be executed immediately. Wolfgang saved his friend by surrendering himself to the soldiers and claiming he is indeed the prince they were looking for in exchange for the safety of the other children. They took him in and he was initially going to stay out of sight and out of mind, not wanting to get involved with the king as his mother had warned him. It was then he met shin soohyuk or “ shin” the financial minster’s son and favored child of the king. You see the king had this fetish of keeping children next to him and even bedding them as he pleases...basically a mother f*cken pedophile....gag...
And he would go around collecting these beautiful children and have them do whatever to please him. So wolfgang met shin while having dinner with all the children and the king and wondered why shin is favored out of all the children, he seemed really gloomy at first but wolfgang probably wanted to befriend him, so he declared that he would “remove the cape off of him” the cape is given to the children who are labeled to belong to the king, so they are like prized possessions that only the king can touch. Removing the cape is basically saying I’ll free you from those shackles.
Shin didn’t really think much of it but saw something in wolfgang that made him wonder if he could be the person he was looking for. Shin became wolfgang’s advisor and stuck with him through situations he was put under by the king, all in hopes that he would succeed. They became close after a short while and shin began to see that wolf gang has all the qualities that make a great king. There are also other princes other than wolfgang that was born with blonde hair and gold eyes, as they are all children born from different women the king had an affair with.
Wolf gang befriends the 5th prince who is the youngest and doted on him as if he was his real younger brother. One of the other brothers confronted him saying that shin is trying to rise in ranks and he’s being used as a tool. Shin was hidden around the corner and heard everything, indeed he was trying to form some sort of plan to rebel against the king and wolfgang was the piece that was missing, he was worried that his plans would be ruined if wolfgang would refuse. But wolfgang in turn knew that shin was using him and allowed him to do as he pleases, as they both want the same thing.
The king noticed that shin was sticking around wolfgang a lot and he didn’t like it. He had told shin to come into this special room tonight...ya’ll know what about to go down. Shin never expected this to happen so soon and was shaken by it. As he went into the room with king he knew what was about to happen so he insisted on them playing a game of hide and seek in which he blindfolded him and said if he could find him before sunrise then he is allowed to do whatever to him. Shin hid until the sun rose and left the room quickly, he ran to wolf gang and said “I am yours” and so they went into the corner and started making out/ being intimate. This part was confusing as I didn’t know what was going on all of a sudden. Shin then was found out by the king that he had hickeys on his neck, meaning he’s been violated and no longer pure and was then banished from the palace and stripped naked in the snow as punishment. Wolfgang tried to reach him as he saw what was happening but shin told him to turn back and keep going.
Apparently this scheme was so that he could plan the rebellion without any distractions, the rumors about him being bed ridden would give him some time to plan an attack along with woldfgang and sys (who is a lord that knows a lot about medicine) there are some back-story on the other characters as well but they all have one thing in common and that is to dethrone this king. One of the saddest parts of the story is the 5th prince, his caretaker theo was killed for treason and the prince was found in the kings private chamber and saw something he shouldn’t. Let’s just say things didn’t end well for the little guy. This event sent both shin and wolfgang into over drive as they quickly made preparations on the day they raid the palace. This manhwa is so detailed with explain the plan and everyone involved, I’ll let you read that on your own instead of trying to explain it.
Of course in the end justice triumphs over evil as the king is dethroned and dead, my favorite part was really how the king said to wolfgang that he will become just like him and everything he loves will be destroyed and wolf gang comes back with “indeed I want many things in life but bedding children isn’t one of them..” lmao. Take that mother f*cker.
So i’ll end here since this only season 1 and season 2 is still ongoing at the moment. To be honest you can just read season one and be satisfied with what you got, if this ever gets and anime adaptation, I’d promote it like crazy, it so good. The story itself is good as it is, you could remove the BL element of it and it would still be good, so I highly recommend this manhwa to anyone.
You can read this on tappy toon and I believe this is the only app you can read it on. It also has an all ages version and a mature version, though for season 1 it is the same cause I‘m sure we’d all rather not see pedophilia in its full glory.
Smurfs world/ under cover partners (S1 only):
Tumblr media
“Kyuho Je wants out. Hot, rich, and with a plan, he’s looking to get out of his family’s multinational mega corporation because, seriously, business is boring. He’ll need help to make more money quick - savvy money launderer Kangha Nam (codename: Smurf) is perfect for the job! But it’s not easy keeping Kangha close with paparazzi and family constantly on watch, and Kyuho will need more than kidnapping and contracts to keep him in his grasp. Will he get more (and want more) than he bargained for?”
For this series I’m only going to talk about the first season since after this story ended, new characters were introduced in season 2 with their own story. I’ll focus on this couple since I’ve only read season 1. Also I’ve read this a long time ago so I don’t remember all the details correctly, just fyi.
So kyuho is a successor for his family’s company called “Jeho lifestyle”, although he didn’t want the company inheritance to begin with, his father was going to leave it to him regardless and so he tried many ways to get out of this situation, one of which he wanted to launder money from the company upon some of the loans that were taken...I honestly don’t understand this concept, I had to look up the definition of money laundering, maybe you business kids will understand this better than me. Anyways...it’s illegal to obtain money from a source without any information that can be tracked. So he needed a person with abilities that allow that to pass though without being discovered. He found a person with a code name smurf and that was kangha. He then proceeded to kidnap him and basically bribe him in order to have kangha be his launderer. This includes offering him a job at his company as a secretary and paying him extra. This then escalated to something more when kyuho’s sister discovered kyuho and kangha were living together in the same place and kyuho had this idea that they should pretend to be a couple in front of his family to avoid suspicion from both the reporters and family members from their actual goal. Kangha didn’t like the idea but proposed a deal that depending in the intimacy between the two he will be paid extra. It’s honestly for shits and giggles at first but then of course they started catching feelings in more ways than one, the intimacy escalated quickly and soon after they enjoyed each other’s company. Kangha had this ex-boyfriend that used him even though he never loved him and so this lead him to distrust people, but kyuho wanted to show him that he really does see him as a potential partner, not just a contract partner. Things were going well for them as kyuho and kangha understand one another and figuring what the other person’s likes/dislikes are.
Kangha attended a get together with a bunch of classmates from college and didn’t really enjoy the company, since everyone was just basically flaunting their careers and how great their life is and crap...I know this too well, which is why I avoided seeing anyone from high school, I honestly hate making small talk with people I’ve not seen in years and was never close with. Lol. But that’s just me. Anyways, kyuho was attending this company event the same time and the both of them really weren’t having fun and would rather be in each other’s company. Kyuho went to the gathering to pick up kangha and bring him to the company party. There were a lot of reporters there and one reporter was keeping an eye on kangha and wrote some tabloids about him and kyuho. Kyuho had an inkling that reporters will soon find out about the money laundering and so he asked his other secretary miss yoon to bring kangha back to his old home, basically firing him from being a secretary. This was of course to protect him from any accusations from involvement. This left kangha really frustrated with the situation and kyuho was under interrogation. I think my favorite scene in this manhwa was when mrs. Yoon came to see kangha and explain the situation, kangha remembered the moments he shared with kyuho and how he much he wanted to leave the company, so he decided to devise a plan to save him, at which mrs yoon commented “you aren’t Cinderella after all, you’re the knight that’s going to save his prince”. Kangha and kyuho displayed that type of partnership in which without saying anything to each other, they devised a plan that worked out perfectly on both ends. This part you’ll have to read how it plays out. After the string of events unfolded, kangha was going to confess to the police he was involved with money laundering, but kyuho went to stop him and confess his feelings, and they officially end up together.
Okay so I believe that is all I’m going to write as a review, all in all it was a cute story but not much to it. Main protagonist is a rich CEO that blackmails a poor protagonist and later ends up falling in love with him, I feel like all these office relationships are really similar to one another so this story is nothing special, but if you just want something easy and cute to read, this one is really good for that. You can read it currently on Tapas, I believe they have all three seasons so far.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Trash segment (21+)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
a.k.a the part of the series where I shit on your favorite manhwa/manga/webtoon etc. Joking but not really, you have been warned.
This is the new section where you’re going to find titles that I dropped and the reasons why I discontinued the series all together, fair warning if you triggered by people criticizing your favorite series then you may want to skip this section all together. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and not every series that is “popular” or well liked by others will be like by all...therefore if there is content that makes a person uncomfortable enough to stop the series, that is on them and please don’t judge them for their morals.
So to recap, the series that I mentioned dropping so far are
Love or Hate
Yours to claim
Wistful summer
Anti-p.t.
The sound of fire
Kiss damnation
This is probably going to surprise some of you again, but a long time ago I also dropped another popular title
Cherry blossoms after the winter:
Tumblr media
I believe I only read this up to the first season but dropped it shortly after since there was nothing really intriguing about this story that would keep me reading. The characters are not bad, I really liked taesung as a character, he is a really kind person underneath that stoic exterior, but also this character type has been done many times to the point where I find it boring. But I really liked how his mother didn’t treat him any differently after knowing Him and his brother are together...I’m like great another incest pair...to be fair they were child hood friends that became family cause the mom wanted to take care of her friends son...but still ya’ll know how I feel about it...said it before in “love or hate” I don’t understand the concept of this and how people find it attractive. They need to stop playing the card of “half brother..so it’s okay” I’m like no...It’s still incest regardless of whether or not you’re related by blood, since you grew up together or watching that person grow up. But all in all, this story didn’t really hold my interest and I ended up dropping it after season 1 ended. There might be a better plot line that was happening after wards but I really don’t care enough to continue it, doesn’t mean it’s bad though, so if you have read it and finished it maybe you can give me the cliff notes of why you like the series over all. Lol I’m starting to notice the patterns of the series I tend to drop involve either incest or love triangles...
Tumblr media
Vanitas no carte:
Tumblr media
“Vanitas no Karte follows Noé, a young man travelling aboard an airship in 19th century Paris with one goal in mind: to find the Book of Vanitas. A sudden vampire attack leads him to meet the enigmatic Vanitas, a doctor who specializes in vampires and, much to Noé's surprise, a completely ordinary human. The mysterious doctor has inherited both the name and the infamous text from the Vanitas of legend, using the grimoire to heal his patients. But behind his kind demeanor lies something a bit more sinister...”
You guys! My Pandora hearts side is screaming, when did this get an anime adaptation? I remember after reading the end of Pandora hearts and looking for another series by the same author and I found this series, which was new at the time. I remember the beginning of it but not how it ended probably saying that I dropped it at some point. I don’t really understand the whole plot as of yet since it’s still really new, but it about vampires and how this human holds a magic book that can cast spells and find out what the a corrupted vampire’s true name is. Guess this means I’ll have to watch all of it first, but so far it’s been pretty good. I definitely like the character designs and costumes, like how I did with Pandora hearts.
Tumblr media
I’ve been just listening to final fantasy soundtracks, I’m really lacking in the music department and I guess I just wanted some orchestrated music when I read or draw.
As I side note if you read pearl boy’s new chapters listen to “ Hollow” from the ff7 remake album, it honestly fits the vibe the creator was going for and maybe make you feel even more depressed while reading it.
Other than that I’ve not been listening to anything else, if you want to suggest songs to me please do so in the comments! I’m really lacking in the music department.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Ending note:
Hello again,
So you made it to the end, hope you enjoyed reading this month’s updates, the favorites may come in really slowly from now on once I start taking classes again in September, I’ll do my best to update every month but if I don’t have time I’ll have to miss a couple months.
I really do like writing these favorites as a good way to share things that I feel like people will like but also for me as a breather from stuff in life that’s really stressful.
I hope you will continue to read these as they come out and also checking out my new art as well. Okay, that is all for this month, if you’d like to share something you’ve enjoyed please do so in the comments! Give this a like if you want to see this continue.
Thanks, take care.

Meet the Woman Behind Sailor Moon!
For many anime and manga fans, Sailor Moon was a gateway into their favorite hobby. Whether via the original North American airing, one of the many manga releases, or the dub and remake for the show’s 20th anniversary, the world of Usagi and her fellow Sailor Guardians has united fans worldwide in their love of eternal romance and magical girl action.
Of course, none of this would be possible without one woman, who combined her love of manga and astronomy to make one of the world’s most well-known series. As today happens to be her birthday, there’s no better time to look back on the life and works of Naoko Takeuchi: chemist, artist, lyricist, award-winning creator, and all-around godmother of the Moon Kingdom.
With a career as vast as Takeuchi's, we won't have time to get in every single title — but we'll do our best to hit the high points, from her most famous works to some of her less known, but still important, creations.
Takeuchi’s life before becoming a manga artist laid the groundwork early for where her career would go. She attended a high school that boasted sailor-suit-inspired uniforms, and was in her school’s astronomy and manga clubs. At the age of 17, she won an honorable mention in Nakayoshi’s 1984 manga contest for her one-shot story, My Boyfriend Is No Sugar. She was praised for her artwork (with special mention given to her characters’ elaborate hairstyles), but told she still had a way to go when it came to storytelling.
One year later, Nakayoshi Deluxe would print Takeuchi’s first manga, the short subject Yume ja nai yo ne, which would win the publisher’s 1985 Newcomer’s Prize. Nonetheless, her father encouraged her to study for a more reliable career, leading to her majoring in chemistry in college. During her years at university, she worked as a miko at a nearby shrine — yet another inspiration for her stories to come!
Throughout the 1980s, Takeuchi created short works for Nakayoshi, eventually penning longer multi-part works such as Prism Time and Chocolate Christmas. In 1989, she teamed up with novelist Marie Koizumi and came up with Maria, her first long-form work. Based on the classic novel Daddy Long Legs, it eventually became a solo work for Takeuchi, though Koizumi remained a major inspiration for it.
In the midst of working on figure skating manga The Cherry Project, Takeuchi was inspired to write a manga tapping into her high school love of astronomy. When she put forward the idea of outer-space-themed heroines, her editor added that they should wear sailor uniforms. And so, Codename Sailor V was born.
The manga premiered in 1991, just after The Cherry Project was starting to make Takeuchi a household name, and new heroine Minako Aino was embraced quickly by readers. Its popularity kicked off the potential for Toei Animation to adapt it into an anime. With that in view, Takeuchi expanded on the lore, adding four new Sailor Guardians (to start!) and creating what we now know as Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon.
Sailor Moon began running in Nakayoshi just four months after Sailor V first came out. It, too, was an instant hit, and she worked on both series for several years. Just one year later, the Sailor Moon anime hit the airwaves, running alongside (and occasionally catching up to) the manga.
Takeuchi’s contributions to the anime didn’t stop with the source material, though. She also wrote lyrics for many of the show’s songs, including insert songs, image songs for multiple characters, and the fifth season’s opening theme, “Sailor Star Song.”
Sadly, Codename: Sailor V never got its anime adaptation, and its home magazine RunRun eventually ended its print run in 1997. Nonetheless, Sailor Moon was already a global phenomenon, with movies, a series of musicals starting in 1993, and eventually a live-action adaptation. Once again, Takeuchi would write lyrics for the show, including the opening theme “Kirari*SailorDream!”
Sadly, her first big series after Sailor Moon — PQ Angels — came to an end after limited response and after much of her manuscript for the series was lost. Nonetheless, she pushed on with more series. Her autobiographical Punch manga in Young You tracked many major life events, including her marriage to Hunter x Hunter creator Yoshihiro Togashi.
Since then, she’s penned the series Love Witch, its unfinished sequel Sister Witch, and the shoujo robot series Toki*Meca.
Unsurprisingly, it’s the long-running Sailor Moon that continues to be at the forefront of Takeuchi’s work. It never really left the public consciousness, but 2014’s Sailor Moon Crystal pulled it even more to the forefront. Even now, not a week goes by when you won’t hear about a concert, event, or fashion line inspired by the magical girl series.
From her earliest inspirations to her global influence, Naoko Takeuchi is by far one of manga’s most beloved creators. We at Crunchyroll wish her the happiest of birthdays, and hope we’ve given you a chance to relive some happy memories and maybe look into some of her other works.
